Just nipping in to say Good Afternoon All
Ooh Frank you sound a poorly boy .Stay warm ,drink plenty of fluids ,those Day/Night pills are usually quite effective.

It is snowing now.Not big flakes but they are getting bigger.Hannah and John are going to Rothwell for a friends Birthday.
Mandy.John is feeling much better but gets tired easily.I think this is the first time socialising for him since he was ill.I think it is supposed to be quite a late do tonight but James is going to pick them up at Midnight. He only went back to work on Wednesday.
Must go for now .Something smells like it is burning !!

Spent some of the afternoon cleaning out my kitchen pantry / walk in cupboard today it's not really very well organised , I want OH to put up some more shelves I use it for mainly cleaning products, dusters, old towels, recycling bins, polishes, etc, as I lost the cupboards which held those things when we got the new kitchen put in.

Walk in Cupboard eh!.I would love a walk in wardrobe lol.Sounds like you have had a productive day Fiona.
Liz good on you girl :-D.I keep saying to myself I need to get myself back into volunteering.I did look into Prison Visiting a couple of years ago ,but once I had had a tour and chat with some of prisoners at Wellinborough Prison I decided it was not for me,as I would be a soft touch .I did enjoy the ten years I did with Victims of Crime though.

When my Sister married her now OH I had a pair of shoes dyed to go with my outfit. My Go* looking back at the photos I looked like a Peacock (colourwise lol).

I must go again ...I'm being summoned :-S

Oh I see Liz, sounds very high tech, a bit like those CAD systems. First OH had lots of machinery but nothing computerised!! He had a cross cut saw and planer in their own benches, a lathe, pillar drill and a hand held router as well as dozens of handtools, huge hand planes down to a tiny one and obscure things like an 'adze'. Oh and welding kit and grinders. They were all set out in the big garage and workshop we had.

More fine snow here, but it isn't settling. OH is hoping it will be warmer on Tuesday, as he is taking a car full of pals to a match a couple of hours drive away. They will be frozen in his car with only half the heater working!! I've told him he needs to get one of his headlights adjusted too as it is much higher one side. He said he'd been flashed a couple of times so it is obviously causing a bit of dazzle.

That's you all set now then Pat......the colour sounds nice. I think I have one of those brushes for suede somewhere.....they have metal bristles don't they?

William I remember mum and dad getting a radiogram thing when I was about 12 and there was a pile of old 78s that seemed to come with it. I particularly remember liking 'Oh, Island in the Sun' by Harry Belafonte. Oh and the Banana Boat Song by him too. It's going round my head now. :-)

Fiona, I had my kitchen done about 4 years ago and I seem to have a few boxes of stuff in the porch cupboard that never found their way back to the kitchen!! I need to go through what I have really and get rid of some things! After all, how often am I likely to need a thing that makes curls of butter now or a rabbit jelly mould. :-| Do I need 2 foodmixers when I hardly ever use one. :-| Even the toasted sarnie maker hasn't seen the light of day for years. They are all taking up shelf room. :-S

Sounds like an early night with goose grease on his chest for Frankie boy!!

Ann,,I have all manner of hand tools going back donkeys years.
They very seldom get used now.
Thinking of donating all but a hammer and a screw driver to a charity shop.

It's me again, just got up to give the bed an airing.!!!

We had a gramaphone (electric) where the speed was controlled by a little lever, it had two pots where the neddles went. My records of the day were Traditional Jazz and Skittle music. Then I fell in LOVE with Doris Day. and had her records, and books. Ah Ah. Oh to be young and in love again. !!! When the 78 rmp went out of fashion, I use to soak the records in boiuling water and mould them into flower pots. The centre hole was the drain hole. !!! Mum humoured me by having some around the house. (What would those records be worth today ???)

Can't find the Vasaline !!! (FOR MY NOSE) it's so sore with all the blowing and wiping, so I have put E 45, and Savlon round my nose, it seems a bit easier.

Ros is watching Ant and Dec. Not my type of thing, then No Likeky no Lighty. I can't stand him. So my Sat night viewing in the lounge in zilt !!! Might put MY TELE on and see if I can find something to watch, if not cards, or Ebay.

Our neighbour (air hostess) is in Cuba over the weekend, Johnathan her hushband is going to a party tonight and taking the children. Ros offered to babysit, but he said he won't stay long.

Ros said how cold it is outside, and there's me sweating my cobs off. I think I had better have another shower and change again. can't smell can I. lol lol

We use to have a pantry and a cupboard under the stairs but hubby knocked the wall down to make the kitchen larger , i would love a walk in wardrobe ,every thing gets pushed in the wardrobe and the shoes get shoved at the bottom, i saw some clear shoe boxes the other day and i thought i might get some of those, would be a lot easier to see what shoes i've got in there .

We took a trip out to the kitchen shop at Taverham near Norwich this afternoon ,i need a new bit for my pressure cooker ,the little bit that blows if the pressure gets to much dropped down the plug hole when i was washing it up the other day ,they didn't have one so i'll now have to look online for one ,also went into the sewing shop ,bought some beads and other little bits and pieces.

Pat, I thought you said it would match your hair (GREY)

I do love Cocker Spaniels, those big loppy ears, and those big eyes, I don't think they have a bad thought in the body.

Glad John in recovering enough to want to go to a party. Thats very good of James offerering to go and pick them up. I remember having to turn out on a cold winters night to take and fetch the boys in their party days. We never had so much luck, you got there and home the best you could, and as for being out till midnight. A BIG NO NO.!!! 10.30 was usual and 11.00 with a good excuse.

Mandy, That bit for your pressure cooker is more than likely sitting in the U bend, get OH to have a look.

We had walk in pantries both at Gayton and here, The one here went when we extended the kitchen. Great for more space, but less storeage.

One of my lady friends after I was seperated, had loads of money and had a walk in dressing room of the main bedroom. She lived in the BIG houses up Walkton Lane Jane. She had a swimming pool, and a water feature in the lounge. More money than you could throw a stick at. She wanted to set me up in business in Burton Latimer.

Back on the cards for a little while, then back to bed.

See you all tomorrow.

Did any of you tune in to the popular music on Radio Luxemburg?

Poetry in Motion is a UK number-one single of 1961, recorded among others by Johnny Tillotson.

I had my first record player for a Christmas present from mum and dad. It was a Fergason in two tone blue. It only played one record at a time as that was what I wanted. I had tea for two cha cha, Paul Anchor's Oh Carol and Cliff Richard's first single Move It and that was 1958. Also had Hoots Mon....theres a moose loose abut this hoose. Dad had Windows of Paris
