Hi Pat , good luck with the shoes, mother in law tried to get shoes for daughter no 1 wedding a few years ago and could not get any to match so she bought a cream pair and got some one to dye them, (Just a thought)

Trying to snow here this morning , light flutters not lying as yet but very cold.
OH in the garden, doesn't matter what the weathers like. getting on with the path etc, paving stones didn't turn up yesterday so he will carry on with the grit any way.

Very cold here this am and trying to snow! so won't be wandering far today! Watched 'Wild Arabia' last night - what a super programme, quite fascinating, can't wait for next weeks episode!
Chap came yesterday to repair CNC machine, so we are now 'up and running' again. Luckily the order is safe as the client has 'very kindly' allowed more time to complete, so that's a relief!!!
Off to the village to get the paper and some milk, then OH is taking Merlin to the 'Meet' while I stay in the warm!!

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Cloudy this morning but the wind seems to have dropped. Still cold outside.

We have some icicles on the frame covering the pond that have been growing for days and have now formed a curtain. It is where the water from the pump pipe splashes on the frame. Ice is a beautiful thing wen you really look at it. I have taken a couple of snaps but hav'nt downloaded them yet.

How do you spell icycles, icecles????????????????????????? I know it dos'nt look right

:-P :-P

Liz I saw the Wild Arabia program last night too. That lizzard was amazing the way it changed the colour of it's scales in the daytime. When it spread it's body on the ground to warm up it reminded me of Hogwart in the last pic I took of him.

It's very fine snow here ,a bit like icing sugar.Wrap up warm Fiona ,Pat and anyone out shopping.I have a warm jumper on now ,but will put something thinner on for under my coat when I go into town soon.I get so hot in the shops which then makes me feel ill :-S.I'm often stripping off (outer clothes :-D)

Hannah and John will get here about 2 ish.Not sure if they will need some food or not before they go to whatever party it is tonight.I think I'll get some soups and crusty bread.

Morning from the SICK ONE,
Was in bed by 10 last night, coughing and sneezing, blowing a big red nose. Feel like a wet week this morning

Ros bought me Two cups (mugs) tea. I have just got up to have my tablets, and look in on you, I don't want you worrying where I was. Going back to bed now, so don't know if or when I will be back today.

Yes Mel, It was quite incredible, the scorpion too who sensed the full moon and ran for its burrow! amazing stuff. I loved the man's son and the way they rode the camels; As for the oasis and the surrounding greenery and wildlife- fabulous!!!! It just goes to show that people over the world could live in harmony with each other if ONLY they could just be left alone!!
I've put my name forward in the village for some voluntary work. I feel I need 'something to do', and as I worked in care for donkeys years I would like to make myself useful in whatever capacity - we shall see!
Yesterday was Millies birthday! she was 10!! Her breeder sent her a birthday card, as she does every year!! so I rang her and gave her an update!
Hope you feel better soon Frank, and anyone else who is under the weather.

Afternoon all,

We've had snow flurries all the morning when we got up the car was all covered but the paths were all clear !!
We had to nip out and pick some thing up for hubby ,you could see the snow sweeping across the fields , i don't think it feels as cold as yesterday.

Frank, hope you soon feel better , just keep dosing your self up with the tablets .

John must be feeling better then Jane if they are off to a party ,is he back to work ?

Not much happening here today , hubby's having an afternoon nap ,then he has to have a look at one of my lamps ,the fitting seems all loose and i think the bulb my be on its way out as it keeps flickering ,it's one of those energy bulbs :-S they seem to take for ever to get really bright !!

Two more shops closing in the town today, one is a sweet shop the other a toy shop!! both shops have stores in other towns ,just not taking enough money here in the town.

Don't think we will be turning out to see my sister tonight ,we'll keep in the warm .

Afternoon All and the SICK ONE!!

Oh dear Frank, Lewis has left you a pressie you could have done without. Rest up, chicken soup and warm drinks and hopefully you will soon be better. Hopefully William is feeling better today.......he was the same wasn't he......'MAN FLU'. :-) :-)

We had a few flakes of snow yesterday evening, but nothing now, except it is very cold.

I know just what you mean Jane. I wrapped up well to go shopping with OH last night and began to feel hot, clammy and dodgy as we walked around. While we were queuing at the checkout I ended up leaving him to do it and went and stood outside in the cold to cool down!! I soon felt better so it must have been the heat. Shops seem much hotter these days. Years ago they saved money on heating and the staff would wear warmer clothes in the winter.

I would have enjoyed that programme Liz and Mel and will try to remember to record it next week. What is a CNC Liz? :-S I love that Millie's breeder still sends her birthday cards!! I wonder how many she sends altogether in a year? I know what you mean about 'doing something'. The last few months I have been thinking I need to learn something new. I keep looking at the adult classes, but I don't want something that leads to exams and nothing else seems to quite fit what I fancy. I have thought about doing one of those residential stained glass courses where you make a pane with a picture. If my knees were up to it I would take up badminton or tap dancing again.

I think I'm going to book up a train trip that's in the paper today. It's to Bath in September, with various options including a private visit to Highclere Castle used in the filming of Downton Abbey. :-D OH is keen too so that will be something to look forward to.

I love icicles Mel and look forward to seeing yours. :-D There have been some lovely photos of trees with icicles in the paper lately, but I haven't noticed any driving about.

I hope Pat finds herself some shoes to go with her outfit. I have quite a wide fit, so it isn't always easy to find what I want that is comfy too.

OH has gone to footie, so I think I will go and collect some beads the lady with that new shop has got for me. No doubt I will have a good nosey around and see something else to get. :-D

CNC is short for 'Computer Numerical Control' Ann!!!! and basically It's a wood router. You set up the required lettering or design on the computor and the machine does the rest. Far to complicated for me but it keeps OH out of mischief and helps our bank balance!
Ann, apart from OH visiting the hospital in Bath for his 6 monthly check up we haven't been there for years, but you mentioning it has put it into my mind again. We must make the effort this Spring or Autumn as it is well worth visiting - Summer's hopeless as you can't move for tourists! (well! us I suppopse!!)
The course you mentioned sounds brilliant and, like you I don't want ANYTHING too exacting! As I'm not at all artistic (admire but not do) it wouldn't be for me, but if I were, it would! if you see what I mean!!! I think 'Granny Sitting' is about my limit these days, mind you I would have to be CRB'd I expect as I haven't been for years - have to see what turns up! Off to take Millie now, we both need a breath of air!

William Report 23 Feb 2013 15:10

Hi everyone. Gee it's still cold out and that's why we're staying in today. I just went out in the garden to feed the birds and clear the ice out of the birdbath and top it up. That was enough for me!

We were listening to the radio at lunch time and hearing all the old top of the pops from way back when, don't know if they even called them that. The Pat Boone was singing April Love, I think that was in a film at the time. Remembered buying the old 78 back then and enjoying it. Then we used to go into Hanson's Music shop in Nuneaton every Saturday to listen to the latest records. They would put it on in the shop and you went into a little booth to hear it. Then if you liked it you bought it. Happy days :-)
I also recall getting our first record player. It was a Dansette and we bought it outright (big DEAL!) at Radio Rentalls in Nuneaton and you got to choose two free LP's to go with your purchase. We had Lulu who was all the rage then and also Joe Brown and the Bruvvers.

I have got up for a while. My head feels like a fluffy cloud, and my nose sore as sore as can be.

Ros has bought me some DAY/NIGHT capsules. Have taken a couple, see what happens.

She's just made me a cup of tea and a cake. So will have that.

William,I recall when I was small boy my Father bought a second hand wind up gramaphone from a local second hand shop.
It had a box of loose steel needles and he he had a big box box of old fashioned bakerlite gramaphone records.

Used to play them like some one in Colditz
One I remember was Barnacle Bill the Sailor

Hi all.

I managed to get my shoes not a complete match colour wise to my bag...but then I wont be holding my bag all day ..Need that hand for the wine lol.

I looked in New Look saw the ones I liked then went from shop to shop and back there again..I also have a wide foot..Some of the others I tried on pinched me as well....They are a light chocolate/ coffee coloured suede with a 2 inch stiletto heel..So I wont be wearing them much..My clutch bag is suede as well..The colour goes well with my silvery grey suit..
