Morning everyone, evening Kim

We have the same weather Mel, its a lovely sunny day here.

OH busy doing some tidying up in the garden and I have just hung some t towels on the line,
Daughter no 2 & boyfriend didn't come for tea last night, daughter had a really bad throat could hardly speak on the phone, hope she is better this morning , she has to go to work at 12 -4 this afternoon or nobody will get into the shop as she is in charge and has the key's to open up.

Spring must be on the way in more ways than one, daughter no 2 said last Thursday while she was working (ladies clothes shop) they made £50 less of a £1000 in takings, everyone came into the shop was buying lots of different clothes for the spring. she was shattered that night too but very happy they made well over their target for that day

Man's a long time in the loo.
Says to his wife I'm passing money oot the other end.
His wife counts it.
How much asks he
One thousand nine hundred and hundred and ninety nine pounds she replies.
I knew I didn't feel too grand

well it made me laugh

That was a good day Fiona, in the shop.

Ha ha David.

Suns still out and it is beautifull out there but there is also a biting wind.

Must fill up the peanut feeders now and finish getting our BIG breakfast ready to cook.

He has'nt gone ringing today, not enough ringers to make 6.

Afternoon everyone, Evening Kim,

Bit on the misty side this morning with a frost ,although the sun is trying to shine, we were going to take a trip to the coast but with the mist i don;t think it would be worth it as we won't see much !!
The family have been for coffee and have just gone ,it's half term this week for them so i expect i will be seeing them in the week .

David ,it made me chuckle !! :-)

Fiona, that was good takings for the shop, you wouldn't think people would be after clothes for the spring just yet ,we could still have more snow and want the warm clothes .

I did see a car yesterday with the top down !! i should think they must have been frozen with the wind in their faces !!

Not sure what to do for a meal tonight , will be if its i think , better sort some lunch out now i think .

Hi all,

Trust you are enjoying this spring type weather. Here I sit in a pair of shorts, watching Chelsea making hard work of beating Brentford. Must have missed 4/5 goals ( Sorry Boring you girls)!!

Had a wonderful sleep last night. 11.00 pm till 8.45 am with onlt waking for a short time in the night.

Have prepared a banquet for the Family. Roast leg of Pork, apple and herb stuffing, Roast Parsnips and Pots, Cauli, Broch, runner beans, sugar snap peas, carrots and peas, Cheese sauce for the Cauli (JANE) :-D :-D Blackberry and apple crumble for afters.

We expect them about 4.30 pm so dinner for 5.30 ish. We are so looking forward to havinf "MY BOY" He wants to go swimming this week, so I can sit and read my book while he's in the pool. I suppose there will be the Cinema, Chinese, and the PUB. He likes going down there. If one old chap is there, he always buys him crisps.to have with his coke. !!!

I can't believe this weather. I have taken the bins out, and the subn is quite warm, even though there is a bit of a breeze.

Where do you find them David ??? very good.

Ros is busy hoovering and dusting, saying this place is filthy. I don't think so !!!I don't know why she fusses about like this when the Family come. She is trying to cut down on her pain killers, which helps with her tummy, but o f course her leg isn't getting the pain relief it needs. Can't win.

My knee has started to feel easier, arter the injection, it will go down hill after two weeks.

Mandy, I bet it would have been fine at the coast today, you are missing out !!!

Afternoon Everyone,

Still sunny here, almost feels spring like, but I think a bit of snow is due on Thursday!

This will give you some idea David, but I would see what your doctor thinks about your and Ellen's mobility too. My sister has one and qualifies through being entitled to DLA. You can get a badge as a passenger in a car too.....don't need to be a driver.

https://www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge

Our neighbours whose burglar alarm went off over a fortnight ago are still away. What a giveaway the flashing light is every night!! :-S They hardly say two words to anyone in the close so don't say when they are away. OH said this morning that he hopes they ARE away and aren't lying inside!!! :-0 We are pretty sure they are away though as they put a cover over their 'posh' car when they go away.......another dead giveaway!!

Well, that Yukon Men programme I thought would be good was all about fur trappers so I shan't be watching it again!

Yes, save some for me too Frank!! :-D It all sounds delicious.

Mandy I'm sending you a PM.

With all this publicity flying around about the bedroom tax I am reminded of when I was a child.

Up to the age of nine I was brought up in the miners rows in a small village in Fife in Scotland called Glencraig.

The house only had one room, no separate kitchen - the fireplace was a range and you cooked on that and heated water in a pot on it; no inside toilet - you had an outside toilet; no electricity - light was provided by gas mantles; no running water inside the house - the tap was outside; no bedrooms - what you had were three alcoves of the one room with curtains and those alcoves where where you slept.

You washed your hands and face in a basin and when you had a bath it was in a galvanised bath tub that sat in the middle of the floor and when it was not being used it hung on a nail on the outside wall.

In 1952 we moved to a brand new 3 bed-roomed council house a few miles away in a place called Ballingry, separate kitchen, an inside toilet with a bath, hot and cold water on tap as the coal fire had a back boiler, gas cooker, electric lighting, and a front and rear garden, it was amazing.

My brother and I must have spent the first week running up and down the stairs flushing the toiled, turning the taps on and off, and switching the lights on and off.

Happy Days :-)

James that must have been a reall treat for all of your family after living in a cottage that small.

Jane no oh was not rolling on the lawn!!!!!! he was on the big mower towing the big roller. He had to go round all the snowdrops. The moles have been all over th eorchard and made a terrible mess so he was rolling their tunnels down. They can't go very deep as the ground is so wet so thye just push the surface up about an inch down. Not deep enough to trap them.

Nice to see you again OFITG
I don't have any memories like that ,although I think my Dad lived in similar circumstances with his 6 siblings and a widowed mother. It must have been so hard :-(
He was also in Scotland.Born in Glasgow, then Ecclefechan and Moffat.I did see an old photo of the little cottage in Ecclefechan(nor sure I have spelled that right). The cottage was all on its own at he end of a little lane.Hard times.
As for me my first memories are of a bungalow my parents rented. All mod cons :-D but freezing in the winters. No carpets, but Lino on all the floors.Speckled pattern.I think a dark red background with yellow and black speckles.I might be totally wrong of course. The cooker was one on four legs and was a cream colour. It was gas and when Mum lit it ,it made a popping noise which always scared the living daylights out of me..........I have never had a gas cooker lol
I shared a bedroom with my sister once she was old enough to come out of her cot which was in my parents .I remember the wallpaper in Mum and Dad's bedroom. It was a white background with a pattern of lovely big pink and red cabbage roses.I loved it :-D.I have no recollection of what my bedroom was like other than 2 single beds and a bedside rug with my name .That was given to me by a family friend(Uncle Bill) a Butcher from Barnstable .I can see it now .The Postman knocked and I was called to the front door as there was a parcel for me :-D :-D.How exciting!!!.The rug was wrapped in brown paper and on its end was as tall as me lolol.
You have got me going now,but I better stop as OH is asking "are we eating tonight" :-S :-S

All feed and watered. Harvey and Julia went home about 9.00pm.

Dinner was great apart from I burnt the parsnips and Roasties. They said they wern't burnt, just nice and crispy, trhey must have enjoyed it as we had clean plates and little veg over. I also did a syrup sponge for afters. Harvey had most of that himself, with home made custard. We consumed a bottle of RED mostly me. as he was driving. He then proceeded to sleep all the afternoon away, while Julia played on her ipad.

One interesting thing she bought up was, Colour blindness test. Of 19 different circles of coloured spots, I could only see the No. 12 in one. I couldn't see another number. Lewis and Ros saw them all.

Turned colder thid evening, but still not got the heating on.!! YET. She will tell me she's cold in a minute, then it will be me down to shorts !!!

Hope your OH enjoyed his roll on the lawn Mel, I bet those little moles have a headache now. lol lol

Lewis has forgotton his controls for his X box and his swimming trunks, so we will meet with Harvey romorrow to pick them up. SILLY BOY.!!(PLONKER as Del Boy would say)

Didn't see much of DOI tonight. I didn't think the Corrie girl did enough to go through. But there again what do I know ??

Mr Bl###y Seff#### is on so I will play cards, and go on Ebay.

See you in the morning.

God bless all.

Thank you Annx,
Last night I was filling in a request for a blue form online.
Was very detailed as it had to be,
When I was more than 3/4 through it I had to ask Ellen what specific pain killers she was on what strength how many a day,
A simple question but E blew a fuse told me to cancell the the request.
Thinks shes never had anything no ones going to give her anything.

I think she's wrong but hey, sheda boss.
