A few days ago I said I'd been informed by some one on GR that my Grand Father had had died in Purdysburn Mental Hospital Belfast 1/3/1940
Ive checked several sources including GR's death records for that date. No mention of him
I suspect Ive been misled

Morning All,
Had a bad night with my side again. I think I aggravated it with hopping in and out of the car so much yesterday and then when I twisted to switch the light off in bed I felt it wrench again. Slept propped up as I couldn't turn over, but it seems a lot better this morning, thank goodness.......hope Jane and Fitz don't notice the bags under my eyes!! :-S
Lovely and sunny here, but the dog next door was barking at 6.30am and then she went out without him at 8.00am and he's been barking and howling ever since!!! I think OH may say something about it now as it got on his nerves trying to do his notes this morning.
Better go and get ready now.......CYAL as William would say.... :-) :-)

Morning one and all/Evening Kim.
Yes, a great morning here also, very heavy frost last night. When we came out of the pub, Tony had to spray the windows as they were from over and it wasn't e ven 10.00 pm.
Ann you bought back some memories of Studley Castle, I spent some very happy hours at meetings there during my "Rover" days. Also the Motor Museum on the M 42. What a collection of cars, does anyone know if it's still there.
When we opened the new dealership in Towcester, we had six really old Rovers on display in the Showroon. We even had the one that beat the "BLUE TRAIN" in a race across France. Every night we would have to drive them into the alarmed garages for safe keeping, what an expereience driving those. Who a lucky girl then. I was never offered one !!! in the driving seat LOL LOL a few in the back maybe., but that would be telling !!! Thed old Vauxhall Victor I had, had bench seats, with a column change,Never interfered with any activities wink wink.
Hope you girls have a good day, what with lunch and a good natter. I suppose we will hear about it later.
I must have driven for two years, on my own with a provisional licence, before I applied. I made an excuse at work that I had to go somewhere on the day of my test. I left my car round the corner from the test centre, and had an hour in a driving school car. After my test the examiner said "It's a pleasure to give someone a pass certicicate, that realy knows how to drive" Little did he know, I then walked round the corner and got into my own car, ALL LEGAL
I'm going to get an estimate for a haircut today joke-joke, I haven't been since last October !!! My little hairdresser will think I am dead !!!
Ros is at the Drs. this morning regarding her Kidneys, she's worried sick, that she has something wrong with them. She seems to be in a lot of pain, and the last blood test didn't look that good. Whatever that means, we will see what he has to say. And go from there. I said you can allways have one of mine, It will be well preserved in alcohol, !!! She didn't find that funny.

Take TWO house points Mel,
Have been to see my lovely hairdresser. and had my haircut. She said she LOVES me. As I brighten up her day when I go in, she dosen't have many bright days then!!! first time this year.
Ros got a few bits from Morris###, and we stopped there and had a bit of lunch F & C for Lewis and I Scampi for Ros. Three meals with coffees for under £17.00 I think that is good value.
Driving back, you can't help but notice how busy the moles are at the moment. Hills everywhere down the verges.
Beautiful afternoon again, when we got home Lewis opened the conservatory door and you could feel the heat hit you. We have had to lower the blinds, so he can play his X box. The sun is so bright.
Ros, might have to have a change of tablets. The reading from the blood test is slightly down on the last one, but has nothing to worry about, till it gets much, much lower.

Still sniffing and snuffing, been awake all night coughing, looks like it's heading for my chest. We did go out today in the lovely sunshine. I thought I can have a cold jsut as well out as in as long as I don't sneeze on anybody :-S I think a bit of fresh air can do you good anyway.
Going on about driving my Isetta bubble car and all the Reliants I had, the law then was that you could drive these on a motorcycle license as long as the reverse was blanked off. But, all the vehicles I owned had never had the reverse blanked for some reason and I used to reverse anyway. Actually, pushing a non-reversing vehicle backward is more dangerous and I think that's why that law was eventually changed. Too many people got run over by their own vehicle! :-\ The Reliants served us well overt the years. I've been to John O'Groats with a full loadf of camping gear, Land's End, we went on our honeymoon to the Lake District in one, all the grandchildren came home from hospital in one - and also we went across to the Isle of Lewis in the outer Hebrides in one. We also came back from Skegness one terrible snowy Christmas in one and our car held the road better than the four wheelers - I think it was because the single wheel for steering was in the virgin snow in the middle of the road. The Isetta also brings back memories. We went to Skeness for a holiday with our baby daughter in a moses basket on the shelf space over the rear engine!!! Can you imagine that in todays H & S and P-C world?

Well, I'm back and don't want ANYTHING more to eat till tomorrow!! We had a lovely time and my meal was delish, croque madame, then a light pastry thing with roasted vegetables, rocket and veg and a huge choc mousse with choc crumble in it to follow and coffee. There was no beef lasagne on the menu!! :-D Fitz thought his chicken was a little tough, but, as Jane pointed out, he had had pork not chicken!! lol.
I'm glad Ros's mind has been put at rest Frank, you can do a mixed grill with that kidney now!! Studley Castle is lovely isn't it. I don't know what it was like for your meetings, but we were really well fed in that lovely banqueting hall and could drink as much of and whatever we liked. :-) Later that evening the police came and tested our reaction times to show the alcohol effect!! Before we went out on the road the next day, they breathalysed us all too. The wide car dad took me out in once when I was learning to drive was a Vauxhall Cresta with 2 tone blue slippy leather bench seats and column change, before that he had a Vauxhall Victor estate and before that a Vauxhall Victor saloon.

Your poor son Mandy having gout. I once had it in just 1 toe once and it was agony! I worked with someone who had it and he took a tablet every day to control it and was fine then. It can't be easy doing a physical job when you are in pain like that. I hope he's soon more comfortable.....as you say he's done really well with the smoking.
Shirl, that is a lot of snow........you will need you long boots on in that. Do take care you don't slip.
William, you did get about in your Reliants!! FIL used to go to as far as the south coast in his. He still speaks about them with great affection. The good thing was they didn't rust.....a big plus when other cars would start rusting after 12 months. I hope the fresh air cleared your head a bit.
Fiona when I first married I didn't even like hanging my undies in the back garden. They were either too old, too frumpy.....or too saucy for me to want anyone to see them!! lol. I remember first MIL saying she was told it was considered 'not the thing' to hang mine next to my OH's!! ;-)
Mel, is Hogwart getting more active now. It won't be too much longer befgore he leaves home will it?

Evening All :-D Well what a lovely time we have had.I'm still stuffed to the gills after a smashing meal.I didn't even have room for a pudding :-S.The table was booked for 12.30 and I think it was just after 3 when we left !!Lots of chat lots of laughter, and so nice to see Ann again. She gave me a lovely little present. One of her hand beaded Christmas Baubles in red and white.Clever thing remembered my decs are those colours :-D :-D Thanks Ann.I will put it away safely until next Christmas .My tree will look very glam :-D :-D We said goodbye and Ann went for a wander around Market Harborough while Fitz and I went to visit his Mum.We were there for about an hour and a half.I think she was pleased with her chocolates and flowers. The chocolates were going down at quite a rate lolol So now I will be feeding Chris and James...nothing for me tonight.
Oh I nearly forgot Ann brought some of her lovely beaded Jewelry for us to see. It's even better (in real life) :-D.Fitz tried to work out how many beads were on one necklace and reckoned about 3 thousand !!!!
Ouch Mandy! I hope your son's stronger painkillers help.Gout is very painful (so I believe). William I hope you don't get too chesty and end up with an infection. There are so many people at the moment with dreadful hacking chesty coughs. :-S
Frank I hope Ros's mind is at ease now that there are no probs with the Kidneys.
Must go and check the oven now.

Oh my Shirl.Hope you get where you are going and home again all safe and sound.
Fiona.Luckily no-one can see my undies on my line.Even so I always put my Bridget Jones's on the back line(I have a whirly line). They aren't ugly....just big lol but most important comfortable :-D :-D.I am past the stage now of having lacey sexy underwear.(unfortunately :-() I know when Hannah was living at home and I hung out our washing it was so funny to see her dainty little thongs hanging next to my great things.
When I was at Senior School I remember my friend Ann telling me that her Mum hung out 2 Bras on the line. One Anns and the other her Mums. Her Mum said that hers looked like 2 fried eggs would fit,and Anns could hold 2 people :-D :-D :-D

Glad you had a good lunch girls, M H would be just about right for you. bang in the middle.
Don't talk to me about GOUT. One Friday morning I woke with the most terrible pains in my foot. I rang the Drs. to go on his Telephone Surgery. Come lunchtime I still haven't heard from him, so phoned again. "He will ring you don't worry" was what I got from reception. Come 4 00 pm same quote. by 6.30 I was doing my nut, with the pain. By this time when I phoned it was Answer machine with Emergency Nos. Didn't like to call Emergency Dr. over the weekend, so left it. Come Monday morning I was tearing my hair out, rang and got an appointent with another Dr. Who said you have got GOUT. When I relayed my experience over the weekend, he was quite shocked. After lunch the phone rang and it was the other Dr. full of apologies, I said not accepted." How would you have liked to be like that all weekend" The tablets I was given cleared it up, and I still have some "Marked up" in case I need them.
The old Reliant Robin. A mate of mine had one. One Sat night we managed to squeeze 7 (SEVEN) into it to go to a dance some way away. We got out rather crushed and didn't look our best.. I always think of that night. !!!
You take care OUR SHIRL, don't want you having any accidents.
Ann, can't believe that Studley Castle is now a HOTEL. I suppose with the demise of Rover when BMW bought it, that stripped the assets. That being one of them. Yes the meals were very good there. But of course I lived close enough not to have ever stayed there.
Ros never hangs her frillies on the line, they allways go on the dryer or the radiators.. I said nobody will come and pinch them !!!
Football on T.V. this evening, so Lewis will be glued to the set .
