Ooh i say Frank ;-) ;-) to much information !! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Your neighbour was very lucky Frank, what a nice man to stop and help her , must have been scary for her .

We used to say son had hollow legs when he was younger ,he just seemed hungry all the time , i think its nice that they enjoy their food ,much better than a pickerty eater

Towels are in and its just the thick ends that are a bit damp so there was a dry, don't they smell lovely and fresh when you get them in .
Next door had washing out yesterday left out from the day before , it was stiff with frost !!
I can remember mum hanging washing out in the winter ,she use to thread stockings through the sleeves of jumpers to hang them on the line and the jumpers came off the line all stiff with the sleeves stretched out like
scarecrows :-S :-D :-D

Yes it is bloomin' cold in that wind isn't it!! Brrrr........I should have put my scarf on. To top it all, OH's car was blowing icy cold air my side and hot his and never did warm up my side. I told him it was typical......in the summer the aircon packed up and I boiled, now it's freezing and blowing cold air just on me!! He rang the garage when we got back and they say it is a motorised 'flap' that's not working. They've ordered a part which should be there next Tuesday and will ring then to book it in. I hope the part arrives quicker than Jane's has. Think I will go out in my car while it's this cold till it's fixed.

That's right Frank......enjoy him while you have him........you can always put your feet up next week!! :-D It will do him good to have a quiet day if he's a bit under the weather. I see you like comfort in the downstairs dept as well as us ladies!! lol :-0 ;-)

Pat it made me feel tired and want a lie down just reading your posts!! Yes, have you got your own outfit sorted?

The local paper headlines today were about a teenage gang of about 14 running amok in the next village on Monday. They smashed shop windows and windows in other buildings, pulled a wall down and used the bricks to smash cars. It isn't a 'rough' place at all and I expect the residents can't believe it. I don't know whether they have caught them, but I hope they have. What a senseless thing to do!!!

Have spent a lovely weekend with daughter in Bedford only slightly spoilt by my having a cold, but by Sunday my voice had almost gone and three days later still have no voice. It's so embarrassing trying to explain to people, perhaps I should make myself a plaque to wear instead. I remember my mum lost her voice years ago, dad went with her to see the consultant who said he could get her in quickly for an operation, then dad asked him if he could delay it a bit longer ;-)

Did daughter get that job Kim, I might have missed a few posts.

Glad you enjoyed your lunch with Fitz Ann and Jane. I'm like you Ann, can't say no to a pudding no matter how full I am.

Enjoy your time with Lewis Frank, they grow up so quickly but I'm sure he will always want to come and see his Pappy.

If you find that recipe for fat balls Mel could you let me know what it is please, I would like to have a go at making them.

There are far too many Betting ,Tattto and Nail Parlours here too William.I can't understand how they can ALL keep going.
My James certainly wouldn't get a job there lol/He is spending just about all day looking and applying for jobs.Frank he has applied for something at Satra. Not a job he really wants but it would help just getting back into employment again asap.We used to live next door to Satr*Funnily enough I found a photo this morning of Chris,James and Hannah in our old back garden .Chris is sat on top of the brick wall that divided our house and Satr*.(He looks about 12 !!!!).A ladder propped up against the wall with Hannah and James at the bottom. This brick wall is the one Chris and James fell off ,and over through the bike shed roof .It was a Sunday so no-one was working at Satr* and the big gates were locked.Somehow Chris managed to get James and himself back over. But he had a badly injured ankle ,and James had bad concussion !!.I had to take him to A&E ,and he was off school for 2 weeks.

Maureen ,now it's your turn for the cold and sneezes and throat trouble.Touch wood we have got away with it so far.(saying that now will be famous last words).
William it sounds like you are on the mend now (slowly but surely) :-D

Fiona it's nice to see you getting out now with friends :-D.You must feel so different now to able to do that :-D

Mel the Birds have been stuffing themselves silly here too this afternoon.I've bought another huge bag of peanuts and seeds today.I just need to open the back door now and they are all there hoping for more lol

Have we heard from Shirl or is she stuck somewhere in all that snow :-S :-S

Have I missed anyone? Sorry if I have. It's so easy to miss posts .

Now my car!!.......Still waiting for the part again. It's too complicated to explain as I don't really understand it.But they said I definitely won't have it back before the weekend.I am pretty sure it is going to much longer than that.I said that is fine just as long as they keep me updated,as I don't want to go putting a load of petrol in the courtesy car and then have to take it back.I am just putting £7/£8 in at a time.
I have noticed that Petrol seems to have been going up daily :-S :-S

Anyone going to be watching 'Meet the Izzards ' tonight? It looks interesting.

David Report 20 Feb 2013 18:31

Ann,that senseless vandalism in your net village is not uncommon in youths of that age.
They do it because they can, because with there being a crowd of them who is going to stop them?
You hear of angry confronters falling down dead with a cardiac.
Who is going to stop them?
Before any police car attends the scene they have dispersed.

But WHY do they do it at all?

David

David Report 20 Feb 2013 18:34

40 years later they will be complaining about the younger generations stupidity.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Feb 2013 18:45

Because they are mindless idiots David :-S :-S :-S.I can think of no other reason. No excuse. Whatever kind of home they come from either.Everyone knows right from wrong(except of course babies and tots).I get so mad at just this kind of thing..I'll stop now otherwise I might just get too hot under the collar :-S,and that won't do :-D

Back to undies :-D.My Mum always wore a Roll On(is that the same as a corset?I tried one of hers on one day and nearly killed me.I just couldn't understand how any woman could wear one of those things ALL day !!.The relief when they came off must have been heaven. But I think it was a struggle to get off.

O you have been busy posting and it has taken ages to catch up.

William I am glad you feel a little better today, lets hope you are over the worst of it and on the mend.

You know I said I had to fill the peanut feeders today, well the one that was half full is now half full again. I must be feeding the 5,000 the way they go through it.

Maureen I make the fat balls for the birds in a round candle mould. The recipe I have lost is one that I put on a willow ring. It consists of solid veg fat, peanut butter and maize meal plus seed.

Chilli tonight to keep oh happy as he is not ringing tonight and he has had potatoes for three nights running now and I get complaints when we have spuds.

He likes rice or pasta and would happily eat that every day.

I see on our local news tonight that these YOBS have attacked a Blind peoples home in Northampton. A stone wall that's been there for ever has been pulled down and the stones used to break the windows in the properties. Wouldn't I like to get my hands on them.!!!

Who do you BLAME. The law for being to leniant, The parents for no discipline, and schools. The trouble is RESPECT seems to have dissapeared through a generation. of yobs. How right you are David, people loose their lives trying to stamp it out. I just thank my lucky stars, that all mine turned out O.K.

Yes Mel, He was happy to stay at home today in the warm. He wants Ros to take us to the pub tonight so he can watch Barcelona V A.C. Milan. Some top players of the world, that what he wants to see. So good old Pappy will do his bit, and while i'm there I MIGHT HAVE A PINT or two.. It's a hard life

It's a wonder your Dad could talk after that comment. :-D :-D Maureen. Yes we are having a great time being together. I run around after him all day. He calls himself LORD LEWIS and I am his serevant. Cheekey little B

Glad you are getting over the cold Will, It certainly takes you down.

Your car has been a pain Jane, If it's ready and you still have loads of petrol in the loan car. CHARGE them for it.

David

David Report 20 Feb 2013 19:11

If it was their parents property being assaulted how would they react as a group or as individuals?

Just trying to picture you in that roll on J :))

Do you think Sadie would sell such things? and tailor made

Jane

Jane Report 20 Feb 2013 19:42

I'm trying to picture myself too David lolol Not a good sight I have to tell you.I have tried todays hold in tummy pants but even these I find really uncomfortable.I have to be able to breath :-D :-D

Frank that is dreadful news.I didn't see it on our local news.Maybe I missed that.I just don't understand the mentality of the youths who commit these crimes.
As David says what would their reaction be if it happened to their homes !!!

Just ready to dish up now......Lightly dusted Haddock(not sure what it's dusted in lol) Potato Wedges(the ones not used the other night) Cauliflower Cheese and carrots.

The Courtesy Car will not be going back with much petrol at all Frank as when I got it ,it was on the RED.

Dinners up now :-D

Annx Report 20 Feb 2013 20:24

It looks like they arrested 3 between ages 15 and 17. They put a wheelie bin through the newsagent's windows, smashed windows at the DIY and at the cafe and smashed every window in the church hall and tried to break the door open while people were in there playing badminton. The people must have been terrified. Part way through the rampage they congregated in a car park outside sheltered accommodation and ripped bricks off the wall to smash cars with. It was only 8.00pm when it started as well. It must run into thousands of pounds worth of damage, just at a time when shops are struggling anyway.

As you say David, some poor souls have had heart attacks trying to deal with them. It's a pity they don't target their own homes and let their parents see what their little angels are up to!! Much more of this and the area crime statistics will mean all of us will be paying more car and house insurance. :-S

How despicable Frank to target a blind people's home, even more terrifying for folk who can't see. No respect as you say, feral and fearless thugs. Ohhh I'd better calm down now. :-|

My slim, willowy best friend bought one of those roll ons when we were in our teens. Gawd knows why as she was thin as a whippet, but she was convinced she had a 'tummy'. She didn't wear it for long though as it wore her out just getting it on let alone off!! lol.

It's horrid when you lose your voice like that Maureen. I hated it at work when you had to answer the telephone and do heavy whispering into the mouthpiece. Hopefully you will soon be on the mend.

I had to smile at your mum's 'scarecrows' Mandy but it was a good idea of your mum's to stop peg marks......!!

Mel, OH likes pasta, rice and spuds! At least you never have to peel pasta or rice. :-D

Jane

Jane Report 20 Feb 2013 21:02

Thank god they got some of them at least Ann.They are old enough too to be charged with Criminal damage .I hope they throw the book(or whatever that saying is) at them.
How frightening for the people :-S :-S :-S.....It just makes the mind boggle at to the reason why they do this kind of thing.
Just getting settled now to watch the lovely Eddie Izzard.I find him quite fanciable in a strange way.Even if he does like to wear a skirt and nail varnish sometimes lol

How long is it since Borstal and the birch?

I don't suppose any one wanted a second taste of that.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Feb 2013 22:25

I knew someone who went to Borstal. He was boy from the village. He was called Gerald and had a dog called Paddy.Paddy was a pain in the backside too as he was always out on the road and used to chase cars. :-S How he never got run over I will never know.

Well I loved the Eddie Izzard programme ....It was so interesting .Now I'm looking forward to tomorrow nights episode.

Off to bed now .Sleep well everyone and sweet dreams :-D Night Night x

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Sun was out before 9am but it has gone now. I have the library today up in the car park at 12 noon. Dull ad cloudy now with grey skies but at leat it is still dry.

Those thugs aught to be horse whipped in my opinion. They do such damage and the law is leanient (sp) on them.I wonder why they do these things? It dos'nt get them anywhere but in court.

Hope Kim is ok as we hav'nt heard from her for a while now.

Morning Everyone & Evening Kim

Morning Mel

We have the sun but all the lawns and cars in the street have a heavy frost, need to do a few little jobs until daughter no 2 & boyfriend come , daughters's boyfriend has an appointment today and so have I at the hospital in East Kilbride , so we are going together to share the taxi fare.

It's my 3 month check up to see the haematologist checking up on my low white blood cells (under active thyroid) after I see him it's the nurse for blood, tests :-| :-| I'm not very generous when it comes to giving blood , too many wobbly veins :-( :-( and the nurses at the hospital are not very patient and I end up getting prodded and black and blue. :-| :-(

Better go and get dressed, remember to put on a thin jumper under my big warm coat, it's always roasting in the waiting room

All morning I have been looking for oh's fingerless gloves and do you think I can find them. I have had the two plastic boxes out in the corner of the kitchen that he dumps everything in and looked through his set of draws and still they are nowhere to be seen. Why is it that when you need something you have put it somewhere safe never to be found again?????? :-| :-| :-|

Still in a good way it made me throw a lot of stuff out from the boxes and they will go back all nice and clea.
