I think if I tried one of those thongs I'd be forever making adjustments!! lol. I don't mind a bit of lace or frill, but comfort first like Jane says and cool cotton in the summer. I remember those french knickers being very popular once and I did quite like those as there was no elastic around the leg so they were cool to wear. I bet I still have some in the loft! Funny how they have shrunk over the years. ;-)

I remember looking at my mum's corsets on the washing line when I was little and thinking 'I don't want to grow up if I have to wear those!!' :-) At that age I never understood about improving the figure, they just looked like a torture garment to me and mum was always saying her corsets were killing her.

My nan who we lived with always had her corsets made for her. I once asked what the hard bones were in them and she told me they used to use whalebones.

Had a lovely stak and kidney stew tonight with carrots, parsnips, onions and mushrooms in it o and new pots for oh and of course dough boys.

I thought I was good last week not eating sandwiches and having salads for lunch and no pots or rice with dinners and I did'nt loose anything!!!!

Morning All and evening Kim,

Fed all the chickens and wild birds and am just having breakfast.

Morning All,

Much colder here today and very overcast. Still Spring must be just around the corner. :-)

OH had left by 7.00am for a meeting this morning. It was just like the old days when he worked full time. I could stretch and turn over in bed for a quiet time to think about what I was going to do today. lol.

Mel, I am trying to get back on track with eating again now too. I shall still have days out like yesterday, but will then go back to being good in between. :-) I usually find after a few weeks you hit one of those plateaus and nothing drops off!! It 's enough to make you want a treat isn't it. You said a while back you had lost some weight, although you didn't look overweight when I last saw you. I lost quite a bit last year, but christmas put half of it back again. :-| I'll be glad when my thyroid is back in balance again as that's not helping.

The master calls, he's ready to go out now so I'd better sprint!! BBL

Morning all/Evening Kim.

It gets harder to get on here. Broadband keeps going off. I am for ever lastering having to restart the bliming thing..

Very dull day here also Mel.Not sure if it will be rain or the white stuff.

We are all fed and watered and are sitting around in dressing gowns. I'm off to the shower in a mo. Then Lewis and Ros. Nothing planed for today, he's not bothered with swimming or cinema. He says "I am happy just being with you" AH. He will be on his X box no doubt, while I sit and read.
Looks like you have been a busy girl Pat. Whens the big day??? Have you bought your hat yet ???

What have I missed about these "cheese cutters" I have seen them on the line next door and wonder how the hell they wear them.

What are you all upto today then ???

Jane

Morning /Evening All
I have had a morning of good intent but then ended up looking through a box of photos.I have done the fire though ,so it just needs a match putting to it later.
It's so chilly this morning with a real bite .
Pat when is the wedding? I bet your are exhausted now after all that haring around lol

I am off to the garage.I rang earlier this morning to see what the latest is with my car.Was told someone would call back....yes you've guessed .....no -one rang.So I shall just go in and that way I am sure to speak to someone. It gets my goat when you sit waiting for people to get back to you and they don't bother :-| :-|

Dull here with a chilly wind,

Did you ladies and Fritz have a nice day yesterday ?

Frank

Frank Report 20 Feb 2013 14:34

Mandy, I will stick with my Y fronts, they have suited me for years. I could never get on with Boxers, not enough support :-D :-D Even my swimming trunks have to have support inside. I also never got on with the David Beckham type, felt like you were being crushed ;-) ;-) ;-)

Well the sun has poked through, but still very cold out.

My your neighbour (air hostess) was coming home from Heathrow in the dack last night, when she hit some debris on the M 1. It took two big chunks out of one of her rear tyres. Good job it wasn't the front. A kind gentleman stopped and changed her wheel. The trouble is it was a new tyre, and has only had the car a few days. Mercedes A class like mine, but her's is diesel. Another tyre will be £70 to £80.00 expence they could do without.

Chicken casserole for tonight. I prepared all the veg for it and put the chicken in, ready to go in the oven later. Mash spuds, and that's me done.

I think there IS MORE football on Sk# tonight, so it might be another trip to the pub, and I know HIS Chelsea are plkaying tomorrow night. It will be nice to have a night in, away from football ;-) ;-) ;-) But I don't have him every week do I ???

Ros has cleaned the kitchen windows inside, and has just gone to do the outsides. I said if it's fine tomorrow I will do the rest. :-| :-| :-| To Blo##y cold for that job.

Lewis has some spring rolls in the oven, he has decided he wants them now. He won't want any dinner tonight.!!!

Gosh it is cold out there.........................

I have been having a go at the fish tank this morning. I have three plastic plants in there and the last one I bought decided it would grow blanket weed on it. I have had it out and washed it and run boiling water over it and put it back. I wonder how long before it starts to grow on it again? The other two are fine and the one thats been in there the longest has'nt a scrap of anything on it. Clean as a whistle! Now where did that expression come from?

I should really be doing the bathroom but I might just have a cuppa first.

Frank I am sure it would be better for Lewis to stay indoors and not go swimming on a day like this anywayand did you say he already had a cold? Wet hair out in this wind would nearly blow your head off.

Birds are eating like crazy.......I have had to fill up the peanut feeders as one was nearly empty this morning. I should get down to making some more of my fat ball bird feeders I used to make. I have the ingredience but can't find the book which has the instructions in.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Feb 2013 14:48

I am sure Lewis will find a hole for some of that chicken casserole Frank. When they are that age they have hollow legs.

Hi everyone, hope you are all staying out of this very fresh wind here in the UK. Feeling a bit better today, the nose is sore but is drying up, keeping my chest dosed up with cough bottle and V*ck. Apart from feeling a bit thick headed and jelly legged I feel better than the past few days.

Been writing birthday cards this morning, it's my daughters on the 26th and Carmel's on the 27th, and granddaughters-husband on the 28th. Come June we get a whole bunch of others in the family all close together!

I was listening to the unemployment figues on the news but I think there will be a whole lot of folk around here who don't agree with them. We are also told we are in a recesssion but what do I see as growth businsesses - tattoo parlours, nail salons (is that the right term?), body piercing - all useless and unnessary. Another thing is that we live in a very small town and have THREE betting shops!!! The strange thing is that two of them are next door to each other :-(

So I guess people can find the money for some things - never been a gambler myself, I think it's a mugs game (except for the bookie of course). ;-)

Thanks to all of you that still supply all the lovely and amusing emails each day, something worth looking into my in-box for.
