Hope all goes well with your tests Fiona and you are not too black and blue by the time they have finished.
I too have trouble with deep set veins and wobbly ones too but now the nurse takes my blood from the back of my hand as you can always see a vein there.

Morning everyone,
Dull here today and when i went to Morri*on's there was tiny tiny flakes of snow !! Bitterly cold too.
Thugs that's what they are , with nothing better to do ,doing all that damage ,and what will happen they will either be to young to go to court or just get a fine which they will pay a pittance a week.
Yes i was wondering about Kim too, wasn't she going to the hospital and staying overnight for some sleep thingy , or have i got that wrong ?
Mel, hubby has taken his fingerless gloves to work ,said his hands have been cold .and it must be cold for him to want gloves on , he's use to the cold after all these years working out in it , he was also wearing his hat yesterday !!
Jane, loved all the little babies with their mums , oh the little Hedge Hogs so cute and tiny :-D
No cooking for me today ,we're off to Weatherspo*ns later for tea with Son ,DIL the little ones .
Hope you get on ok at the hospital Fiona and they can find a vein and don't leave you too sore .

Morning my loves, Morning Boys/ Evening Kim.
Haven't been out yet, but OMG it looks cold, glad i'm not a brass monkey !!!
Ros has popped to get some bits as Lewis wants a curry tonight. He likes her curry's as she puts, pineapple, tomato, cuecumber around the plate, like they did in Africa when she lived there. She allways has, The idea being the fruit takes the sting out of the curry.
They are both showered, I have still to go. I have instructions what to do to wash the towels, if she not back before i'm out of the shower.
Little Lord Lewis, is playing games with othersn his X box, talking away to each other like they are in the same room. All the modern technology, leaves me miles behing.
I won't be cleaning the windows today, my injected knee is starting to play up, and it's only been a week since my last injection. I think i'm ready for the knackers yard !!!

Afternoon All,
Yes it is very cold with a biting wind today!!
Hope the blood tests weren't too sore Fiona. I'm usually fine, but last time the nurse tried a new bit of skin and couldn't get any out. Then I pointed to where they usually take it and that was fine. All the prodding and probing left a nasty bruise so I can imagine what you go through.
I used to wear those fingerless gloves for gardening in the winter years ago (think they are still around somewhere). They are very good. I wonder where your OH's have gone Mel? It is a mystery what happens sometimes........suppose you've asked him what he did when he last wore them..........not under a pile of wood shavings are they?
Pat that is a good idea to borrow an outfit as that kind of thing doesn't get much wear!! You are nearly sorted now then, just the shoes to get to finish off.
Yesterday when we were out in the car along the lanes, there were huge flocks of crows and magpies in the road. Every corner we went round there would be another flock further along, about 6 lots in all. We couldn't work out why they were all in the road as there was no 'roadkill' for them to be interested in. The only thing we could think of was that perhaps the gritters had been out and they were pecking up the bits of salt. We got diverted on the way to our carvery as the road was closed. It was for a reason I have never seen before. The sign they'd put up said it was due to badger damage!!!!!

No snow here ,but it does look dodgy.........I heard someone this morning say "Cor it's Taters out there".I haven't that in a long while :-D I bought Hannah a lovely top and some trousers as part of her Birthday Present for the 10th .The trousers are a bit difficult to describe but I was sure the main colour was black. So I got a black top/When I got home I could see that they were blue/grey and the top wasn't right .So I have been back to Ne** and got the same top but in white.I nearly got the white one this morning.I should have stuck to my first choice :-|
Pat I hope your sore throat doesn't turn into anything worse.Do you know, there wasn't one packet of Paracetamol left on the shelf in Tes** this morning :-S :-S :-S.I had to get them from the pharmacy.I like the sound of the suit you have for the wedding :-D.
Oh Frank. No knees up for you then :-S :-S.It's sounding like it will be a new knee sooner than you think.
I think I had better go and feed the birds again. They are out in hordes and there is some scrapping going on with the Robins by the look of it :-|

Hi everyone, just been reading the posts on all that mindless vandalism and hell raising. It beggars belief. I think I feel sorry for the young ones who are trying to do some good in the world, no matter what they look like. Hooligans like the ones quoted give the good youngsters a bad name. As was said, they don't mess on their own doorsteps!!!
I went to the doctors this morning and had a row with the doctor I saw. She is a new 'regular't to the panel and seems to think she is some kind of God!!! (not ours, either I add!). She upset Carmel the other week and I hadn't forgotten that. She wanted to know why I'd come in as a 'medical emergency', talking down at me as she did to Carmel. I stopped her in her tracks but reminder her what was on the reception notice board. 228 patients hadn't turned up for appointments - AND I WASN'T ONE OF THEM!!! In fact I was there to save the NHS money but asking not to be prescribed pills I didn't want if not needed. I think I cut her down to size and she won't forget me in a hurry. It's seldom I lose my rag but if it wasn't for us patients she wouldn't have a job. After all is said and done, I been getting ill a lot longer than she has ever been qualified ;-)
There is a new one at the hospital that Carmel has to see in March who was the same last time Carmel saw her - I think I mentioned it on here at the time. I shall be ready for her next time too. Who do these people think they are. Nobody WANTS to be ill :-(
Rant over. It's flipping cold again out there so we have put the shopping off till it warms up a bit. There is enough in the freezer for a few days yet, not to mention tins in the cupboards, we definitely won't starve. But, on the other hand, I hope folks on here don't describe delicious food to much :-0 I'm just trying to keep my plate in my mouth again after the infection and cough and cold. I still don't like it but I've got to give it a try. :-

Well I have done nothing again today Not the weather for pottering about outside.
Lewis hasbeen chatting away all day on his "MACHINE" I don't know how it works, and don't realy want too.
That attach on the Blind peoples home is in the local paper tonight. Jane do you get the Evening Telegraph daily or weekly. ours in weekly on the Thursday, it's so full of rubbish. When to do away with the property section and "WHATS ON" over half the paper has gone.
I see that the Chinaman who they wanted for FOUR murders in Northampton on the Royal Wedding day, had been caught and bought back to Northampton. He was in clourt today to answer the charges. He was in Maroco or somewhere like that.
It looks like we might get snow, looking at the clouds. But there again, it could be to cold to snow. THATS AN OLD SAYING TOO
Going to watch RSPCA Australia. Worth catching if you have got the time. Then four in a bed. Not what you are thinking, it's about Bed and Breakfast owners. !!!

Hey Frank think you have got the hiccups today
Well Glad the hospital is over for another 3 months doctor was pleased with my blood count this time and says if it continues i might only need to see him 2 more times and I won't need to go back :-D :-D
But what a palaver with my bloods I told you so :-| :-|
There was 2 nurses, first nurse tried the right arm 2 times NO go :-| second nurse tried the left arm and the right arm again still no blood Wobbly veins!!!!
That's four times being stabbed, then one of the nurses went and got the doctor and he did it in my right hand and managed to get 1 blood test done, they wanted 3, but he said that was enough Thank Goodness for that. surprisingly I'm not too bruised,
anyway daughters boyfriend got his ECG done and everything was fine, we went to celebrated with a hot chocolate at the hospital canteen before we got the taxi Yuck luke warm I still drank it though (couldn't be bothered to complain I was too tired) but next time I'll take a bottle of water with me.

Thats good Fiona (white blood count) :-D.I use to have to take blood from my Renal Patients when they came in for Dialysis.Sometimes their veins were so bad I had to try the ankles or anywhere where might be a chance.
Frank I do get the ET (forgot today) :-S.It is weekly too here and I hate it.Much better as a daily.I don't really know why I bother as I just tend to read the Headliners and Obits.I know so many people who don't buy it any more since it went weekly.
Chester seems a bit weird today.Maybe he is feeling the cold.I think the heating will be left on low all night.Turned right down in my bedroom though. It gives me a stuffy nose if it is on at night. But I worry about Chester as he is all bone and not much meat now.I would hate to think of him shivering in his bed all night :-( I like 4 in a bed(the programme :-D) and then Come Dine.
One good thing about this courtesy car is that it doesn't use as much petrol as my Scenic :-D :-D.
Good for you William telling that Doctor what you thought.I'm sure some people tell Chris the same lolol......Actually I think he is ok.But some are too far up their own backsides and just have no idea how to communicate .Just plain rude sometimes, and no-one should be spoken to like that.As you say you don't choose to be ill............I know there are time wasters and then that is a different matter, also some very rude and unpleasant patients .Chris certainly won't miss them when he retires :-D
Still no Shirl????? Will we have to dig her out of a snow drift? Pat I think Kim is having her night at the Sleep Clinic at the beginning of March.

Fiona,it's good to see you on the mend, sorry about your veins.
Jane,I'm sure you eventually succeeded in getting your blood samples. These addicts invariably find some ehere to score even if they have to inject between two toes.
The last time I had to give a sample it wasn't easy for the nurse and it WAS painful for me.She said my veins were were flat.
I'm rhesus negative group O if you need some :-))

Jane I forgot your 'doctor' connection. No, this one is the new girl in the practice and she needs to take some lessons from the older hands. One we like going to in particular is more like seeing one of the family, he's great. He always listens to what's wrong with you, then he breaks in down into laymans language or shows you a diagram or even an area on his mini-skeleton , then he goes through what can be done about it. We have the utmost faith in him.
Same at our hospital. The folks in the pain clinic are great and always treat Carmel like an old friend. We have had some great physicians in the 15-16 years that I've been Carmel's carer, including ones in London and Oxford. It makes such a difference, especially when you have to travel a long way to see them.
Anyway, have you all heard the latest scare? The supermarkets are withdrawing all their jars of Horse Radish from their shelves :-D
Where does Shirley live? We have a friend in Sonora, California and she has posted photos on her F*cebook page showing all the snow they've had there. I hope Shirley is alright.

Just watched the local news and talking of vandalism, apparently last night in a street in Swindon some 'charming' types, using a stanley knife slashed the tyres of EVERY car!!!! can you believe that - those poor people went out this morning to go to work and found their cars undrivable! OH would implement your law Frank, and chop their hands off! Apart from being mindless and pathetic it's such a mean unkind thing to do. Police have an idea of who the culprits are, but proving it, that's the problem! 'Murder on the Victorian Railway' tonight - could be good!

Very nasty indeed. Some witnesses might feel intimidated. In a neighbourhood watch scheme just keep your eke open for goings on around your neighbour's property, and they will do the same for you.AND don't interven phone the POLICE
