Jane, somes years ago the car I was driving then failed its MOT because of the indicator switch.
I phoned a garge who gave me a ridiculous high price,Said he could fit it next week.
On your bike I thought and drove the car to a car dismantlers (srap yard) to you.

I'll give you £50 for it he says.No deal says I.
Have you got another in,I want the indicator switch.
He lifted another down with the fork lift truck.
He took the indicator switch off his and my vehehicles and swapped them.
Charged me £20 for the switch and his effort.
I then returned to the testing station and the car passed its MOT.

Happy Birthday Carmel, 21 again I suppose. !!! <3 <3

We ended up finishing off the stew tonight, with some nice fresh bread to dunk in the gravy, I did chop up some of the beef that I cooked and put it in. No complaints from the other half :-0 :-0

Was thinking of going to see the match tonight, but decided against it, give myself another couple of days before I mix with people.

Jane why on earth did they have to make a loom for your car. Isn't it a standard model ?? Where's Chris going in Northampton ??? I don't know who the main Volv# dealer is.

New cooking prog. tonight, Might watch a bit of that. Plus a new serial. I hope thats good, it's on for EIGHT weeks.

Frank ,the Volvo garage in Northampton is near the Hospital.(Don't know the name).Has has to go there now as the Volvo garage here closed :-S
My car is a standard model .I have no idea what the Loom is but I will get them to explain to me in language I can understand when I finally get it back.I might then be able to tell what exactly what the problem was.I take it you know what a Loom is???It is a mystery to me at the moment lol :-| :-S
Well the casserole ,dumplings and mash went down a treat :-D.Poor Chris can hardly move now after his day in the garden. He has just crawled up the stairs to bed.
I am waiting to see Child of our time at 9.
James has a job tomorrow. We had a load of logs delivered late this afternoon. He can get them all put away in the log shed.

Ahh! William little Grace is a 'cool chick' :-D.Lovely pics thank you :-D

I think stews and casseroles always taste better on the next day , my dad used to love the gravy poured over a chunk of bread .

Got the family coming tomorrow , they want Shepherds Pie and i thought i might do Pancakes as we haven't had them yet !!

Jane my understanding of a cars loom is its elecrical wiring, carries the circut from the battery and alternator to the lights and heater and solenoids colour coded to differant components etc.Consists of several wires harnesed.

Unless theyv'e changed the definition

Evening All,

Nice sunny afternoon here but OH has had a bad headache today. I think he was dehydrated from the long trip to footie yesterday. He doesn't drink much when travelling long distances apart from a pint at footie as he hates having to stop for the loo!!

Lots of eye problems between us then! I keep expecting to be told I have a cataract since I read blue eyed people are more likely to get them as their eyes let in more light. I found that quite interesting as I have never been one for having lights on and was always switching them off at work when people walked out of the room!! :-0 OH has lights on at home much more than I would do, but his eyes aren't good anyway.

I hope your next injection helps Shirl, not much fun with having a cold and runny eyes as well.

It's been 'teeth' for me today. :-D Dentist at 8.30am this morning. No new news on that front.....one tooth on it's last legs so to speak, the one that I was told wouldn't last over 30 years ago so it really must be now!!

Happy Birthday to Carmel!! Hope she enjoyed her day. :-)Little Grace is a real charmer..........looks as cool like me in her 'shades'!! lol.

Hope I don't get what Harvey's had Frank, he must feel wiped out after 4 days! I'm with Ros on the meat front........!! :-S Mind you I have never got my head around the fact that meat/game can be 'hung' for a long time and not be 'OFF'. lol.

Evening All.

I have been trying to catch up with a few jobs here..I cant remembe if I mentioned my son and the grandchildren called in here Sunday night after visiting some friends not far from Luton....A nice surprise.

They are down here friday night for the weekend as the boys are going on my eldest sons stag do.
Im am still waiting for my new glasses 2 pairs..One is at the optitions already..\the email for the other pair didnt arrive to where it should have gone..They are being made this week.So am now waiting on a phone call .

I had a letter from the hosp today with an apointment to go for a scan for my bones next month.I have osteoporis have had it for about 12 years now..Havent broken anything touch wood but at the time I was having dreadful trouble with my neck and a xray on it showed thinning bones..But the nasel spray I was on un til a few months agai was taken of the market for safety reasons..I had been on it all this while.. so hence amd only taking calcium and Vit d tablets now..

Patricia

Patricia Report 27 Feb 2013 22:34

This will be my third scan...
Just found some books that Max has been chewing tonight..He must have been doing this for days..
He even peed in Mochas bed the other day...DOGS.. Mocha seems so quiet beside him until they start fighting over toys....Off to bed now..I have read though some of the posts. Goodnight...

We used to have our main meal at teatime when OH worked locally, but then his job hours and distance travelled meant he never knew what time he'd finish in a day. Being up by 6.00am or earlier and in bed by 9.00pm, sometimes he would only have time to eat and then go straight to bed and I'd get indigestion if I did that! Casseroles and salads were good as I could have mine earlier than him and they wouldn't spoil. At times he would go straight to footie 15 miles away on his way home and I'd meet him somewhere near there and we'd eat out before he carried on to the match. The juggling of modern life eh!! Now he's retired we've drifted into lunch mostly at lunchtime, especially if eating at a carvery when the OAP deals are on, or by about 5.00pm in the summer if we are out or busy in the garden. We find having our main meal earlier suits us both better.

Jane, one site says problems with Scenic looms are rife!! :-S Still, I expect some problems will be 'rife' on all makes and models of car. Maybe that isn't right though as surely if they knew that the garages would stock spares....... :-S?? Little William is doing so well isn't he......I love to hear a baby laugh like that.

It's a good job little Lacey doesn't know how many more teeth will be coming Mandy. You can't help but feel sorry for them when teeth are coming through.

We saw the film with Marion in the title this afternoon.....forgotten the rest already!! It was ok but not the greatest.

Off to bed now........nightie night zz.

Hello everyone, just a quick post to let you all know I am still here.

Health issues have plagued me, cortisone injections and a very sore shoulder plus lack of energy. I have my sleep study tomorrow night, so hoping for some answers from that.

Last day of summer here and the rain is coming down tonight. Hope they don't get it further north after all the flooding and mini tornadoes we have had this past week.

I met a third cousin on my father's side and his charming wife yesterday. We swapped lots of information which is so helpful to the family tree cause. He's had a dreadful life, more than one should go through, but a lovely family now to make up for all the hurt. We have so much in common. I will be able to scan some photos for them also and hope to receive some in return.

I do hope you are all well, haven't been able to read all the posts as I'm so far behind.

My daughter did get that job, although it is casual plus she will continue working at the supermarket. That will make it 7 days a week. I hope she's up for the challenge. Time will tell.

Take care and I hope the weather is improving, although I think the northern parts are still having snow. 8.41 pm ADST

Morning All and Evening Kim,

It's a bit brighter here today with some watery sunshine here and there. No breeze and it feels a little warmer out.

Oh is up the church with the man who is fitting the new boiler.

So Home Alone as Frank would say.

Did any of you see Lightfields last night?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Feb 2013 11:00

I remember having to clean the washing machine out after doing the dogs beds etc. Sometimes mum would do them and not tell me and my washing would come out covered in dog hair. I used to bung them in the dryer and that sorted most of it out. When you cleaned the dryer filter it used to come off like felt!!!!

Jane I knew the loom was to do with the main wiring on your car but then first hubby was a mechanic self taught and used to fix both our cars if he could.
