I have just thought of something.

When I was small mum worked for a man I called uncle Les. She did his bookwork and used to take me with her when I was young. He used to do photography and develope all his own material but the flash bulbs he had for his camera were HUGE and when they had been used they were all sort of cracked over the glass bulb.

I can't move now and have even taken my trousers off :-S.I don't think I will be doing that meal again ,even though it was very tasty.There is so much left over.But I can see that going in the bin tomorrow.

Ann,I'm so glad that OH loved his card :-D.It was brilliant.
Yes it is a pain not having my car ,but at least I have one to use.Saying that, James is off to see Jess tomorrow (with the car) and he won't be back until tuesday morning.
He knows he has to be back early as I need it to drive to Market Harborough!!!

Jane, Chris likes to live dangerously doesn't he. lol It sounds as if it was nice meal in the end though........could you freeze what's left?

My skin seems really dry this time of the year so I think I will be doing the HW tomorrow with cream and plaggy bags on my feet with socks over the top!! That should get them nice and soft. I would stick a facepack on too, but it's tricky now OH is retired as he laughs and makes me laugh too which you aren't supposed to do.

I've just skimmed the posts and sounds like you had a lovely day. Did my card arrive in time? Sorry I missed your birthday, I forgot with all that was happening in the house.

I had two lots of visitors yesterday and a lovely bunch of flowers from OH for Valentines Day.

My daughter went to her interview. We haven't heard anything yet. If she is successful, she will have to travel to Sydney and stay in a hotel for 3 days whilst she does a training course. One of her friends was in a car accident, second one for this girl and only had the licence a month. She was not hurt thankfully, but the car is written off. :-(

It is a lovely sunny day,so I must get on with a few jobs. I might be back later.

Mel. I sent you an ecard which sounds as if it went the same way as my Xmas ones!! I begin to think that I shall be giving them a miss in future!! Anyhow I hope you had a lovely day. Yes Ann, I must say I was very touched by my snowdrops! OH isn't that brilliant at remembering 'dates', even his own birthday!!! and now we are 'on our own' he hasn't anyone to nudge him when it's me!!
Mel, I THINK it's Phlebitis couldn't be bothered to look up the spelling! but I knew someone years ago who had it and it's VERY painful, so your poor friend, I feel for her!! (Another name for it is White Leg!)

Another lovely sunny morning here.No need for a jacket either when I took Chester out.(well for me anyway) everyone else seems wrapped up .

Our blackbird came and sat on the fence by the kitchen window looking in, enough to say where's my food. I took some bits out to the front lawn and there he was waiting on his perch on the bush. Musn't forget him in future. At Gayton we had one who would hop into the utility room from the back door and pinch the cats bisciuts. !!

Mel, I sent a Ecard also. I had notification that it had been sent but nothing to say it had been opened by you. Did you get it ??

Got the shakes in the night, kept waking me up, my right leg was jumping all over the place, i expect it's the nerves reacting to the way I lay. Having a bit of a job gettiung around this morning. Leg sore and shoulder where I had my Testoserone injection.. I don't know how many more injections I have to have for my knee, but I have to go back in three weeks. I did ask what would be the final outcome. He said it could be a new knee, but that would be well down the line. I don't suppose they like to spend money on old people if they can avoid it.

Nothing planed for today. I have prepared a roast Chicken for dinner tonight, that can't have any HORSE in it lol lol

Have a large joint of pork for Sunday when Lewis and his M & D come for dinner after his football. Ros will get the Veg tomorrow when she goes out with Martine.

Glad you had a nice birthday Mel

Went into town to collect my parcel and bought some more photo paper have used up most of the last lot on copies of Sofia & Matteo pics for the photo frames in my dinning room . I also printed off a set for OH mother and posted them when I was in town.

When Sofia was born 3 years ago I bought a large pink photo album so I could keep updating her photos and as the years went by I am now starting her 3rd pink album,
Now Matteo is here I have started a blue album, I have heard from friends that they have not taken as many photo's of the second child or following siblings as much as they did when the first grandchild came along,
does anyone else find this?

Afternoon everyone,

It's been nice and sunny here today ,i've been to the market to get some Oranges and Apples ,they had those lovely big Oranges , we had some a couple of weeks ago and they were so juicy and sweet.
Also had to pick our tablets up from B*ots

I then i had to pop to Morris*ns , i was over charged by nearly five pounds ,they had charged me for two lots of Corn Beef and full price on some Yogurts !! i don't mind if its a few pence they over charge , but five pounds is not on !!

I still feel quite weary so not going to do much this afternoon , might watch a little television and do some stitching .

Kim, hope your daughter gets good news on the job, how far is Sydney from you ?
Thank goodness your daughter wasn't in the car with her friend when she had the accident !!
She doesn't sound to safe on the road if she's had two accidents !!

Do you know it makes you wonder if this horse meat thing has been going on for a long time , i suppose the only way to make sure you don't eat horse is to have joints of meat and nothing that has minced up meat in it .

I'am not sure if i would be able to tell the difference between a joint of Beef and a joint of Horse !!

Fiona , we take lots of photo's of the grand children , they are growing up so quickly , little Lacey is just starting to sit up now but if she flops forward she carn't quite get her self back up .

Fiona I was only talking about this with my sister the other day.She was saying that there are far more photos of me as a baby and toddler than there is of her.She is right .I have far more of Hannah than James.I think it is a common thing with many families.

I think the sun has just gone now .It has shone all day :-D.I have done a few windows with my steamer thing and am really pleased with how they have come up.I'll do some more tomorrow.

Mandy I haven't had one of those BIG oranges for years.It made my mouth go all funny just thinking of them lol

I tried the big Oranges from Te*co's and they are not as nice as the ones from the market , we eat a lot of fruit each week ,always have plenty in the fruit bowl, hubby has an Apple in his lunch box every day and the little ones always go home with a piece of fruit each ,this week they all had a Banana.

I don't know what people eat if they don't like fruit and veg !!
DIL's father is a funny eater , he will only eat potatoes, peas and yorkshire puds !! and a little meat and gray no other veg !!
He has to have a certain tea and will only have Te*co's milk !!
He also has cheese sandwiches every day !!
Thank goodness i never married a fussy eater , a least hubby will eat most things.

Kim how long will it be before your Daughter knows if she has the job?(I don't know if you have already said ,but I think I have missed some posts).
I remember Hannah going off to stay in a hotel to do training.I thought oh oh they will all be out on the town .But she said it was so exhausting it was early nights all round lol

No Risotto here tonight.The left over went in the bin this morning :-D It weighed a ton lol.
Tonight it is Pork Medallions,with Shitake Mushrooms,Potato Wedges and a mixture of veg.At least I won't be stuck to the oven like last night.

James is just about ready for the off to see Jess.Tomorrow I think they are going to the British Museum to see some exhibition.I'm not sure but I think it might be called Ice Age Art.James had to book tickets for it.

I'm intrigued,what are shitake mushrooms?

Evening all,

Dinner all over, small chicken Roasts, and veg, and of course stuffing. Have done a lot of washing up as I went along, Ros is doing the rest now.

Haven't been to the Muserms for donkey years, I don't see myself walking round them now !!

Mandy, I have seen many people checking their till receipts, both in Morr#### and Tes##'s If they can get away with a fiver net profit all the way. If they could do one in 50. it would certainly add up with the numbers that go through the stores.

I must admit, I took more photo's of Lewis than I did of my own. My ex FIL was always taking photo's had them on the slides, with box's and box's of them. Don't know what happened to them when they both passed away. The ex MIL only last Sept . aged 96.I wonder if the children have them now, I will never know !!!

Stayed clear here till mid afternoon, then the cloud moved in, I haven't moved from my chair all day, apart from making dinner, cups of tea etc. I feel a fraud not getting ouit and doing something in the garden and cleaning the windows, but there's always tomorrow :-D :-D :-D :-D THAT'S MY EXCUSE ANYWAY.

I think this HORSE buiseness is getting a bit serious, It's now in school food, and Whitbrea# chain of pub foods. I am stearing away from anything that's minced, or prepacked, till they sort it out. I use to love a cottage pie or a steak and Kidney pie, from the supermarket, but most of the "STEAK" was mush, possible mince anyway. MOAN OVER. As you say Mandy joints of meat till it's over. I got plenty to go on with. Might get to the bottom of the freezer. !!!

Have been busy today. Hogwart made a terrible mess of his cage last night so this morning I had it all apart and washed everything.

Fiona your card arrived today thank you and I had one from a friends mum who goes ringing with oh on a Wednesday.

Done loads of ironing and later as I was still at it the barn owl flew past the window just as I looked out. It felt like I could have reached out and touched it. I hav'nt seen it for a while but oh said he had seen it very early in the mornings.

David glad you are now back to normal sound wise on the pc.

Roast lamb here tonight and it is smelling nice. We are having purple broc, swede, mushrooms and mash with it. It is one of those mini roast from Morris*ns that has no bone and bay leaves all across the top. They are a much better buy than chops. Could'nt tell you the last time I bought lamb chops, all bone and one little round of meat disgracefullI call it.

Shitake mushrooms are fancy ones David and more expensive. I alway buy the Chesnut mushrooms as I think they are meatier and have a better flavour than the ordinary ones.
