Firstly happy birthday to Mandy, but I have already sent an email as I haven't been able to get on here due to the error message appearing. It has been so frustrating.

We had a bad thunderstorm last night and today has been wet and much cooler than normal.

Frank that's awful that you had to leave the enjoyment of your football and pint due to someone's selfish, loud behaviour. So pleased you walked away safely and in one piece. It takes a real man to do that, but I completely understand your anger. I might have taken the stick to him if it had been me. ;-)

Shirl I hope you are safe and warm in Canada; I've been watching the news of the snow storms over your way and the US.

My neighbour Joy is in hospital again after another fall. Would you believe she was up at 3 am defrosting her fridge and appears to have slipped on some water. This was Wednesday of last week. She has her confusion back too, so I'm wondering if she has also had another mini stroke. They are sending her off to a private hospital for a bit of rehab. and hopefully the confused thoughts will settle down. She never learns and wants to continue living in her own home. The body can only take so much. She's a very stubborn lady. :-| :-|

My daughter's interview was cancelled this morning just as she was about to leave the house. I thought that was poor form, but rescheduled for tomorrow. Her mood has not been good. :-(

Jane I'm not sure what has been wrong with John, just saw he was having scans. I do hope everything will be alright.

Lazy day for me today not going out i'am keeping in the warm , no snow here ,dry with a little frost .
The family will be here later ,we should have been going out for a meal but that's been put on hold till i feel better .

Morning all. When we got ready for bed last night, we looked out and indeed the Close was covered in snow. Not too bad as you could see when cars had driven on it and the road could be seen through the tracks. Same thing this morning but it's started to snow again.
I've just seen a message on Facebook that my daughter can't get out of her village to go to work in Oxford! She's posted a photo of the tree in her garden and it looks like those in the USA. She lives in Woodford Halse, Northants - half way between Daventry and Banbury. Oh, the joys of country living!

OK, going to get some nice soft soggy brekky, my gum is still sore even with all the care and attention that I'm lavishing on it but I think the antibiotics are starting to do the trick.

Stay warm and safe everyone in the UK, or anywhere else for that matter.

"21 today 21 today" Ive gor the key to the door, never been 21 before. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY. Hope you have a good one. If like us you have loads of snow. I doubt you will be going far.

Our blackbird was on his perch this morning looking in the lounge enough to say "where's my food" we chopped up loads of bread, and cleared a patch on the lawn, as it contimued to snow he pulled bits of bread under the palm tree, to stop the snow getting on it. Clever or what.!!! We have about four inches this morning, stopped at the moment, but the shke looks full of it. !!!

Doctors rang this morning, moved my appointment forward an hour on Thursday.2.30 pm now. Must not forget !!!

Young neighbour went off this morning, with two children in the car. She haden't bothered to clear any snow from the car. Naughty girl. :-| :-| :-| Can't see where she is going. and if that snow blows off the roof, it will go straight into the screen of the following car. DANGEROUS.

Have taken a couple of photo's so will forward those later.

Morning and good Evening to All

Sunny here this morning , have put some washing on the line , it's like a building site in our back garden, BUT I can still see our Grass Frank not all covered in mud yet.

Oh spent all day yesterday in the back ,putting down gravel all the way round the new extension , He has ordered some flag stones which will be used to make a new path and to replace the old ones that were broken by the diggers .

He is off to work in Germany tomorrow and won't be back till late Friday Evening.
February seems to be a busy month for travelling. so his weekends are all go trying to get all the jobs he wants to do done.
time for a cuppa.

Busy day today, L is coming with her 'entourage' for lunch as it is half term, so had better get down to the Farm Shop for some provisions! A few flakes of snow this morning but nothing to shout about, so we should be ok. Must go and 'do my teeth'!!! and then 'get on'!.

My left knee is giving out on me. I just got up from the chair, and nearly went Ar## over ti#. Now got my stick out and useing that.

Ros (silly thing) has decided tpo clear the snow off the patio and steps. The way it's looking I think we might in in for a thaw, so I can't see the sense in it. Plus I can't do it myself..

I have managed to stand in the kitchen and peel Pots, Parsnips and trim Runner beans and chop onions for tonights dinner.

Conrad and Jan have plenty of snow in Rutland, so Ann must have as well, Have you got it Will ???

Yes frank, I did say in my post this morning but theres not much of it left now, just on the grass. roads etc clear but it still looks like there's some up there!

Frank,it sounds like you have had a lot more snow than here.I reckon we had just a couple of inches.
Look after that knee ,and don't go taking any risks.....we all know what you are like ,and Shirl I hope your appointment has gone well.

John is ok :-D :-D.They are pretty sure that the ulcerated throat and Eustacion (sp) tube was caused by a virus and that the pain he has in his ear is to do with an affected nerve that joins the throat(that is the gist anyway).He will go back in a fortnight for another check.But thankfully it's nothing nasty .So a big relief all round :-D :-D

It's odd about the snow as we had about a couple of inches overnight which hasn't lasted, but when I went to Market Harborough this morning there was far more around Kibworth and Kilby a few miles away. The river down the road is flooding badly again though. I see you have had quite a lot more snow!! It is bitterly cold here now though so I am staying put. Yes, you stay put too.....we don't want you hurting your knee falling in the snow!! You did well to walk out of the pub away from that idiot. Someone else will do the job for you if he carries on like that.

When OH and I went to a retail park up the M1 last week, the Cl*rke's factory shoe shop was closing!!!! :-S This morning I went to look for a factory shoe shop someone told me about that sells the wider fit shoes.I eventually found the shop which had everything in there £10 at the moment. All the shoes and boots are leather and if you bought 2 pairs of boots the second pair was only £1 and there was lots of choice. I ended up getting a pair of sandals so I hope we get a dry summer!!! :-D

That's good news about John, Jane. I wasn't sure what the problem was but I bet he will sleep well tonight.

I hope you won't need more injections Shirl, it can't be very nice so fingers crossed for you. Those pictures of the snow in your road were amazing. We don't see snow ploughs up our side roads like that.

We remembered yesterday how we used to say 'oompah, oompah, stick it up your jumper'. Anyone else remember hearing it? The words are in the Beatles' song 'I am the Walrus', but I'm sure we used to say it before then.

What a shame about Joy Kim. Not much anyone can do if she won't listen though. Fancy doing the fridge at that time when she would be tired anyway. We were saying again that FIL having this sackbarrow to move pots is a bad idea, but we know it's no good saying anything as no notice will be taken. What a shame Miranda's interview was cancelled.......still, it gives her more time to think about what she will say.
