Davis, There are products on the market that you can get and spray on the carpets/furniture. Not sure of the name, but have seen it in Supermarkets

Mandy, It's wonderful to hear little children tyring to tell you things, their little brains must be working overtime. Their little hands try to explain what they are on about, and they catch their breath trying to rush to get it out. The little boy next door is just starting to gabble.!!! and loves to come in doors and runs straight for the chocolates. Ros always has sweets in the cupboard as well. So there's another one to spoil. !!!

Mel, When we bought shoes for Lewis as a baby. Clark# were the only shop that had those X ray machines. The Barke#s shoe Factory in Earls Barton, have those slanting shoe things, also long handled shoe horns. I haven't bought their shoes since I stopped work. I make do with Tesc#s. I don't do a lot of walking, so they last me ages..

We have the lemons ready, I like a couple of pancakes, with lemon and sugar. Harvey can and does eat 6/8 without any trouble. I have a small shoulder of lamb for tonight, with roasts and veggies. Won't be much room for pancakes.

We are having Lewis on Sunday, after his football. They will bring him up and stay for dinner. Good old Frank/Dad will be in the kitchen preparing and cooking most of the day !!!! But they always clear their plates, so must enjoy my cooking. I suppose it will have to be Leg of Pork with loads of crackling (LEWIS's) favoutite. (who says I spoil him) ???

Ros has an eye test this morning, then off to meet Martine to go to Dunn Elm, at Wellingborough. Martine has never been, and her school is on half term, so a good chance for her and Ros to get together. I bet Ros comes home with something we don't need/want !!! Typical woman. So I expect I will be home alone this afternoon.

Jane I see the Doctor on Thursday afternoon (KEEP UP) I told you that yesterday. !!!

Another of those sayings were. "Down in the Jungle sitting on the well, better than a lavatory," NO SMELL." all kids stuff.

Another one "Old mother rRley, she got drunk, fell in the fire and burnt her bonnet, Now she's got no hair upon it, She has to wear a wig"

Nits, I never ever had them at school. Caught them from my daughter in my late 40's. Horrid little things.

Have just done a tewrrible job. CLEANED OUT THE CUPBORD. under the cooker.

Made a list of everything in there, and cleaned the shelves. You wouldn't believe the things under there.
5 boxs of stuffing
4 bags of pasta
5 pasta sauces.
3 packets of suet
3 drums of custard powder
It just goes on and on and on.
More Honey and JAMS than you can throw a stick at.

I have listed everything on two A 4 pieces of paper. and stuck them on the fridge. Don't let me find any of those items in her shopping bag or else. The BOSS has spoken. No wonder she's always complaining about not enough cupboard space.
The next one will be where the tins of soups and biscuits are kept.

I've got this silly flashing advert for i phone 5 on the side of the page, driving me mad. keep saying NO and it keeps coming back.

Sorry DAVID, I caught the s key.

Didn't get home till late yesterday after being at daughters, babysitting while she went off to her Zumba classes. If I watch another Handy Manny or Jake and his pirates I swear my brain will turn to mush, CBB's on all day long :-0 Nice spending time with the kids though.

You've done it again Ann, how do you find these shops, fantastic prices for shoes and boots.

Went to see Les Mis, the film, last week, absolutely fantastic, enjoyed every minute of it.

I remember umpah umpah stick if up your jumper, so it certainly has been going for a long time. When one of the kids had a cough my dad would always say ....... cough it up it might be a gold watch.........

Finley is getting quite naughty with things he says, he called someone a fat willy, his mum told him off so then he said, 'no he's not a fat willy. Think he missed the point that he shouldn't actually be saying fat willy, it was hard to keep a straight face.

Thanks for the photos and jokes, some of them Frank are hilarious. Have you still got loads of snow Shirl. hope it's not coming this way. Touch wood we have missed it here the last couple of days.

Jane Report 12 Feb 2013 18:27

Oh I love it Maureen Fat Willy :-D :-D :-D.Was it another child that he called the name?
Children just say what they think don't they .I remember some years ago I was in the bank and there was a man who had Dwarfism waiting in the queue.A liitle girl of about 3 or 4 went up to him and asked him why he was little!!!!!.It was awful as he turned to her and told her not to be so rude ! :-|.....Now if it had been an older child or adult then I could understand the man being upset or cross, but this little girl was just asking a sensible question for her age.I didn't dare look at her Mother as i'm sure she was quite embarrassed .

Frank are all the things in the cupboard in date?.Fitz is always telling me how his OH keeps buying things when they already have a load. :-S

I have Stuffed Chicken Breasts in the oven...I have no idea what they are stuffed with :-S :-S.It will b e a surprise :-D Saute Potatoes, and roasted peppers, red onions, courgettes and mushrooms.

Oh Shirl .I bet you didn't want to hear you need more injections in your eyes :-S :-S.
But I suppose it is something that has to be done so you can eventually get those Cataracts sorted.

We still have a fair bit of snow lying on the back lawn.I thought it might have gone by now.But at least some grass is showing so the birds can get a good peck.
It looks like a very cold night tonight.I might just leave the heating on low.Poor old Chester needs it now.I put a small oil filled radiator on this morning and found him lying beside it.

Jane Report 12 Feb 2013 19:16

I've just remembered ....we had a shop here in Kettering called 'Fat Willies'.It was a shop that sold surfing boards etc. :-D.I always thought what a weird name for a shop lol

Going back to my childhood again and being old enough to bath myself.Always being reminded to wash my neck and behind my ears and not forgetting my 'undercarriage' lolol.I often used to run the bath ,and then sit on the loo and read my latest Enid Blyton book.Swish my hand around in the water so it sounded like I was in the bath .Rub a flannel over my face and hair and jump into my nightie.
I got caught out once when I forgot to wet the soap and flannel :-| :-| :-|. Boy did I get a telling off :-S :-S
A tide mark !!!! around the neck.Mum was always trying to scrub my Sisters neck .But she actually had a birthmark around her neck which made it look dirty lolol
I must have a look at Janice's neck next time i see her ;-) ;-)

One with a drum

And one with a pancake stuck to his b*m.

Jane Report 12 Feb 2013 21:18

David I can picture you swiveling in your new chair now in heaven with Patsy Cline singing to you lol. What a bargain/gift !!

Never heard that one before Mel lol......No Pancakes eaten here tonight. That's why I bought ready made ones.I knew we would be full after the main course.Maybe tomorrow :-)

I had a rhyme come into my mind just now but can only think of the first couple of lines
Molly had a dolly ,who was sick sick sick ,she took it to the Doctor.........and I can't remember any more...Anyone know the rest of it??.It will drive me nuts now :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother

Has anyone been watching Dancing on The Edge?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Feb 2013 21:36

Here you go Jane

Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick.
So she phoned for the doctor to be quick, quick, quick.
The doctor came with his bag and his hat
And he knocked at the door with a rat-a-tat-tat.
He looked at the dolly and he shook his head
And he said “Miss Polly, put her straight to bed!”
He wrote on a paper for a pill, pill, pill
“I’ll be back in the morning yes I will, will, will.”

No we haven't been watching that Mel, we're just watching all about the floods, its on on channel 4

Annx Report 12 Feb 2013 21:43

That's nuisance Shirl, having to have more injections! Hopefully then, if they gradually do the trick, you can have your cataracts done. FIL had his done a few years ago and it made such a difference to him.

Glad you enjoyed the film too Maureen, it was really good. Little Finley is doing his best but still putting his foot in then!! lol. I bet you have to look away to hide your grin sometimes, I'm sure I would.

Jane I thought you didn't do Valentine cards.......or has he become more loveable lately!! :-D I have got a card that is of one of those seaside postcard designs. Remember how they had those big ones with holes for the faces and you could pose with your face in the hole.......this is like that with our photos in it......I'll see if I can send it before he gets back from the match. He will laugh because he has sprouted 'hair' on the card. lol

He's going to be a bit miffed when he gets back as he's missed the pancakes!!! I shan't tell him straightaway that I've put the batter that's left in the fridge for tomorrow. I haven't done any for a few years but they were really nice, thin and crispy with sugar and lemon juice. The first one always seems to come out a little thicker than the rest.

What brilliant buys David. Sometimes you can just drop on the things you want.

I don't remember hearing Mel's rhyme either, but I remember the Polly had a dolly one, well just the first few lines!!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Feb 2013 21:51

Oh Ann i love the valentine card :-D :-D brilliant !! i haven't seen one like that before .

Annx

Annx Report 12 Feb 2013 21:55

When we first had a swivel chair at home I tried standing on it to get something out of our high cupboards in here.........BIG MISTAKE!! I ended up hanging onto the cupboard door handles........... with my hips and the seat facing the bookcase on the opposite side of the room. :-S It was a nightmare getting back down again. You only do that sort of thing once. ;-)

I have recorded one of those programmes to see what it is like Mel. I've also recorded Yukon Man that's on at 10.00pm. It's about survival and living in those freezing temperatures I think. My sort of thing!
