I bet our Frank will be getting up to no good lol.I hope he isn't going to get an ear bashing from Ros ;-)

William what a talented man you are.I loved your drawings.Like how you have the swinging pendulum on the Cuckoo Clock :-D.We use to have a lovely old Cuckoo Clock when I was young.No-one ever remembered what happened to it :-|

No emails yet Fiona.I don't know if you have tried yet.

Liz,you weren't to know I have been to Venice lolol.Isn't is a great place ! and I can't wait to go again.
It's nice to hear both you Mandy and you William are both on the mend :-D :-D

Well I have no idea how dinner is going to turn out tonight.
It is Sausage and puy lentil hotpot with prunes!!! It is a recipe that Chris found and he fancies it.Not quite so sure if I will :-S But will give it a try.It is a Hugh Fearnley-W recipe.

Mandy, glad you liked the sketches. I actually did those in the late 40's and 50's etc - and as I told Liz, I think I was drawing before I learnt how to use the potty! I rarely draw these days, arthritus in my fingers means I'm not so dexterous (???). However, I spent 32 years with Rolls-Royce aero engines here in Coventry as a technical illustrator & designer so I guess there comes a time to stop. I've got all my artwork from over the years (that that I didn't sell or give away) as a sketchbook album on my F*cebook page. I'll send out some more sometime, lots of buildings and landscapes etc. Also boat scenes on the Essex coast.

Frank, loved the email with the Russian cars buried in the snow. With weather like that, what would be the point in trying to use a car anyway? Makes our bit look a bit pathetic to say the least.

Jane, come to think of it, I don't know what happened to that cuckoo clock in the end. Dad, was clock mad, my daughter ended up with his mantle clock and his old alarm clock (wake the dead!) is up in our loft.
The mantle clock used to chime and it was underneath the bedroom we slept in when we used to visit. I used to sneak down and take the striker off when he went to bed - otherwise come midnight and we'd be kept awake while it struck 12 times...

Afternoon All,

Thankyou for the gorgeous photos Fiona. That first one of Matteo with his lamb is beautiful! I want the lamb by the way!! lol

Thanks for all the emails and your sketches are very good William, they remind me of those that John Flower, the Leicester artist, did. Have you seen his?

We had a bit of snow this morning, but OH has gone to a match in Yorkshire so I hope it isn't snowing there. Shirl you have had a lot haven't you!! :-S Still, not as bad yet as the Russians in that email. I wouldn't like to have that much. All down the lanes here we keep coming across diggers clearing the ditches and gulleys. They have left all the rubbish and soil piled up on the verges.

Kim I have felt for years that that will happen here too. White is the minority in the schools in the city near here now. What will happen when that filters through and is the position in all of our decision making processes too.

There was a daytrip to Venice on a holiday we went on many years ago but we never went on it for some reason. I know it was boiling hot and some had said the canals could be a bit smelly, but I don't think that was the reason. Maybe we had just run out of steam at that point and needed to chill. I would definately go if the chance came up on another holiday. I can picture you in a Gondola Jane.......hopefully you wouldn't repeat what happened with the punt!!!!

Afternoon all.

We went to amphill Park this morning with the boys..just started snowing when we got in the car..but we carried on ...by the time we got there it had stopped.

Hasa nice surprise at work yesterday before I left..A lady came in carrying a big bouget sp of flowers and was looking for me..They were from Alan..
I joked with him the day before he was always treating the dogs and he never buys me flowers.....even a bunch from the garage would be nice when he filled the car up...Hence the lovely flowers from a florist.he had orded them on line that morning

I am just browning off the sausages. But I have a bit of a problem. There are 2 types.Toulouse and Cumberland. They all look the blooming same and I don't like Toulouse ones :-S.I will just have to sniff them when I dish up later lol

Now sweating onions :-S......I am sweating too and think I need to get this jumper off :-S

Jane Report 9 Feb 2013 17:48

I'm back ..now sweating the celery and carrots....This is all a bit of a faff, and I've told Chris I won't be doing this one too often lol

Pat what a lovely surprise getting your bouquet :-D Will you get another one for Valentine Day too ??? I think I might get a big vase out and leave on the side ;-)just a little hint :-D

Ann I would never go to Venice in the summer.Far too hot,far to full of tourists and I think a bit whiffy. We have been in May and end of September .It is still a bit too hot for my liking but bearable. As for the Gondolas ,they are sooo expensive and there are so many of them .You often get a bottle neck and it is not that romantic. Some of the Gondoliers are rather nice though :-D :-D ;-) ;-)
It sounds a bit macabre but one of the places I loved was the Cemetery Island. It was really interesting.

Right, this dish is finally now in the oven for an hour and a half.I think James and Chris can have it.I don't fancy it at all.

Frank Report 9 Feb 2013 21:22

I'M HERE keeping my beedie eye on you lot. :-D :-D

The reason I didn't stay this morning was I had spent so much time reading and sending Emails, that I was behind like a dog's tail. I haven't been near any steps or ladders, HONEST. !!!

I was still in mt dressing gown, and I had to get showered and shaved, sort out the rubbish bins, run the hoover through, and get to the pub for the match at 12.30. Last thing I wanted was to be late for the match !!!

Not a lot to report, had 40 winks this afternoon, been to collect the takeaway for Ros and a bag of chips for me. Ros had bought me a large piece of MONK FISH. Which I had part cooked before we went to collect the other. Went down a treat.

Pat, What's he after. buying you flowers ;-) ;-) ;-) I must get in touch with the local florist to order some for Ros.. Valentines day is the same day I go for my injections, leg and arm. !!!So can't forget it.

Haven't looked at the Emails yet, but I will when I post this.

Will. Whalebone Lane, I remember seeing those TWO big whalebones outside the Whalebone Pub, in that area. But for the life of me, I can't remember the area it was in. Do you know ???

On the way to Towcester this evening and back I counted 13 cars with only one headlight. There seems to be more and more of them around. When are the police going to do something about them. Moan OVER.

Hope you are all keeping well, and that Carmels throat isn't too sore. Are you a bit better Mandy ???

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 9 Feb 2013 21:35

Well i don't know there's us worrying about you and you've been boozing down the pub at dinner time and having forty winks this afternoon :-D :-D LOL

Yes i'am feeling a little better thanks Frank, never had Monk fish ,is it very strong ?i don't like strong fish !!
I use to hate it when you got a piece of place and it had an iodine taste !!

David .It is an interesting subject and I kind of know where you are coming from ,but I am not comfortable talking about this on here. This subject should be on a different thread.(I hope you don't mind me saying this).I would hate our thread to turn into a big debate and turning nasty as several other threads seem to have :-S

Good to see you are alive and kicking Frank lol We all wondered where you have been :-D
Chester is giving me signs...needs out !!!
