So much for cleaning the shower .I discovered I'd run out of Viaka*.Good excuse eh? ;-)So I have wrapped a couple of bits and bobs for OH's Birthday and sorted washing and swept a couple of floors.I thought ,no point in getting the mop and bucket out today as people and dog will no doubt be traipsing wet feet in. :-S :-S

Janice think she may actually go home from hospital tomorrow now :-D.She has 60% flextion in he knee today and has been able to get to her bathroom and shower herself(with her OH hovering in the background.)She is feeling a bit smothered with all his faffing and attention (bless him) and she said she will let me know when she feels able to travel up to me for a few days. When she does get home she is going to send me a couple of pics of her leg to show me how bad all the bruising and swelling is.

Fiona ,I hope you have a nice relaxing afternoon recovering from your flu.
Mandy, how's that back of yours this afternoon? No more twinges ?

Meatballs and Pasta here tonight. No effort there :-D :-D

Hi Shirl
Seems like we have all got miserable weather .Even our Kim in Australia.

Kim I should have said HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY.(sorry).

No Frank today????? FRANK !!!! where the devil are you?
As Maureen said where is Sheila??Mind you we do all seem to being having all sorts of problems getting on here.

Did anyone watch 127 hours the other night .The film about the young man who had to cut his own arm off when he was trapped in a Canyon .I thought it was brilliant.(I think that's what it was called).

Backs not to bad ,but then i haven't done to much ,been sitting and then getting up for a while till it aches ,then sitting down again.

I hate the job of cleaning the shower , i usually try and do it before i have a shower , then it doesn't matter if my feet get wet , i have to get right in the cubicle to reach the far corner , i must look a sight with nothing on cleaning the shower :-D :-D

Good news that Janice may be going home , you feel so much better in your own home and bed !! sounds as if her OH will look after her well :-)

You still getting the old white stuff then Shirl :-S been a dreary old day here had the light on most of the day .

The television signal has been a bit iffy this afternoon ,maybe its the magnetic storm heading towards earth :-S :-S

I wonder if we shall see any thing of The Northern Lights this way !! i think they were seen up north last night ,and should be visible again tonight now that's some thing i would love to see.

MillymollyAmanda Report 24 Jan 2012 18:08

I was going to record that film Jane ,then i had second thoughts, it sounded a bit too gory !! :-S :-S

Jane

Jane Report 24 Jan 2012 18:29

It was gory Mandy when it came to the part where he had to cut his arm off.
The nice thing was at the end of the film it showed the 'real' person as he is now with a wife and young baby.He still is an adventurer. If you can stomach the gory bit ,it is well worth seeing. An amazing young man :-D :-D

I wear my rubber garden slip on shoes when I clean my shower, sometimes with no clothes on .What a picture ;-) ;-).Good job it is only Chester that can see me.It's a heck of a job isn't it.

No chance of seeing the Northern Lights here.I would absolutely LOVE to see that.
I think my BIL is a bit too intense for Janice's liking.Just a bit too OTT for her.She doesn't like people fussing over her.No chance of that here lol so she will be fine.

Jane's not naked with rubber shoes on.
Why only some times?
I clean mine after using it on getting out (not always) so that makes me naked too.

I cut my toe nails in the shower.
Got one of those rubber non slip mats in the bath.
2 wall grips to assist me get to my feet.
Such a palaver some times. :-S

Evening All,

Well done your son for getting an interview Jane. Good practice for him whatever the outcome and if he gets the job it will be experience and PAY for the time being even if it isn't quite what he wants.

All FIL knows Jane is that the tumour has the potential to become nasty in the future so is best removed now.

I bet Pat's getting nothing done now she has a cute puppy at home!! :-D :-D I know I wouldn't! lol Any pics yet??

We took OH's car in really early this morning to have the back brakes done and the front lights sorted as the bulbs keep going. Well, it had to have new discs and pads etc.and that came to over £300!! It has to go back for a new headlight now......will be over £100....MORE EXPENSE!! Gawd knows what it would have cost at one of the dealers. Still, as I said to OH it still runs like a new car and would cost far more than that to replace.

Your poor back has really grumbled this time hasn't it Mandy! Sometimes they do take a while to settle and seem to be vulnerable with a weakness there for ages.

Sounds like Janice may get a bit fed up with her OH's fussing when she gets home. Mine would fuss over the wrong things, drawing attention when you don't want it, then forget and go striding ahead when you needed help down a step or something!! LOL I bet Frank would say, can't do right for doing wrong!! ;-)

I would love to see the Northern Lights too.....quite spooky I should think, but amazing.

I saw that film when it did the rounds Jane........very good as you say, but a bit toe curling at that particular part....think I looked away!!

Annx Report 24 Jan 2012 20:52

Shirl, it would be nice to work with gold and silver and real gemstones......like they have in the Tower!!

We went shopping for a shirt in M*S today and got a shock how much the prices have gone up......£25..to..£29 for long sleeved, only cheaper if you buy a pack of 3!!!

HERE I AM!!!!!

Do you want chapter and verse or just chapter ????

Here goes, Was up and down all night (I should be so luck) :-D :-D :-D Kept getting up to see the cat was O.K. Felt Ros get out about 7.30 am I dropped off till 10.30 am. Got my tea, showered and shaved. Another tea and tablets with a glass of milk.

We went off to see WAR HORSE for 12.30. They had all the trailers on when we got there. I thought I was going to have to leave. The music was sooooooo loud. Forgot to take my ear plugs. But once the film started it was O.K. Great film for those of you who haven't seen it, worth a looksee.

Then of tho get my haircut, had it cut quite short this time. My lovely hairdresser ASHA thought it suited me, so I was very happy. She it such a pretty girl with such a good sense of humour.

Then in Morrison# to have a late lunch 4.pm. Saved me cooking tonight. I sat a read my paper while Ros got some O & S. She had to call in to see her friend Martine, so we never arrived home till after six. What a full day for me.

Glad the little dog is settling in ok

Jane any news on Jame's interview ??

Have you all seen that GR are offering 100 views for a fiver. Just bought some.

The Northern Lights were suppose to be viewable (if thats a word) from East Anglia last night. Didn't you see them Mandy.

Ann, Very true, we can never please all the time.

I'm off now to watch Master Chef. See you all tomorrow. Hoped you all enjoyed the Emails..

Hello everyone,

Torrential rain here. Floods in Queensland and northern N.S.W. and heading south. Temps. only in low 20's. Very unusual for this time of year.

Jane, Australia Day tomorrow 26th Jan. All outside events are cancelled apart from a couple around Sydney Harbour. Someone must have a Plan B for all these revellers, usually stinking hot and lots of sunburn. Gumboots will be the order of the day!!!!

Will BBL. Chinese tonight as everyone is out - OH to pick up on the way home. 6.46 pm DST (ha that's a joke ;-) ).

I can't stop. Just to let you all know that my DARLING cat passed away in my arms at 8.15 this morning. He is burried in the garden, and I will mark the spot with flowers later in the spring.
