Fiona that was really shoddy of those workmen putting the wrong guttering up Lets hope they get it right for you today.
Mel Janice has just the 3 dogs now.The 4th was Molly who had to be put down after she attacked one of the others. So it is Riley,Oscar and Aggie.
Meg and Chester are wandering round like 2 twerps. It always takes Meg a while to settle as she prefers to be out in the garden all the time. But it's a bit too wet and muddy just to let her come in and out .I shall be leaving James in charge of them for a while while I nip out.

Ive been prescribed statins before but after experiencing leg discomfort at night I stopped taking them.Simvanstatin they were.I saw they were getting a bad write up in the newspapers at the time.
Some time passed and I saw the Doctor about something else. She said I notice youre not taking your statins, what are you, stoic. She prescribed a different statin,Lipitor Avorvastatin which I have been taking for 3 months.
Howerver I saw in the news paper recently that statins can cause memory problems. :-( Ah well, some things we wish to forget.

Afternoon at last.
Knocked the finger again, bleed like mad. covered it up and put pressure on the finger. to stop it.
Been to the nurse this morning for my ears. All clear now. (DON'T SHOUT) Also had a letter from Dr. in post for blood pressure and pulse check, which the nurse did, also a review of my tablets. She weighed me, and said my BMI was down and that I had lost 31/2 lbs since December. Blood pressure the best for a long time. I feel like a FOURTY .YEAR OLD NOW. :-D :-D :-D
Damp start to the day, but starting to brighten up now, Soooooo MILD.
Fiona, I hope you make sure that don't try adding that guttering to your bill.!!!!
Suns just come out !!! Soon be in shorts again. !!!!
Hope everyone is tickerty boo this morning/afternoon, I off for a half marathon :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D I WISH.

Monday and Tuesday evening Ive been watch on BBC2 the astronomy programme.Ineresting, but most of it way over my head.
They talk about 4000 billion light years ago as if it was last week.I think think make their black holes up.Surely space is simply space??
Wouldn't it be so much more productive if they could make things right here at much less expence?

Afternoon All,
Dull and damp here. Did a few errands (eg paid in my ERNIE cheque like Pat will be doing!) this morning and OH has been on here. He saw in the Tele*raph this morning that one of his old work colleagues has died at age 56 with cancer. She only became ill last July. Some folk don't even get a whiff of retirement do they.
Before I set off I saw the big bird was back perching in the same tree, but with his back to me so I don't think the pics will be any better. You can't tell from the photo, but the bird is much bigger than a Sparrowhawk. I have a theory why it has picked that particular tree to sit on. It is close to where most of the rabbit holes are.
It is a mystery what is happening to your fish Pat. They don't have any tiny white specks on them do they?
Frank, you need a miniature 'muzzle' on that finger. Just be careful with it. Glad your ears are good now so poor Ros doesn't have to keep repeating herself!! lol
David I find those programmes mind boggling when they start talking about time and light years. I enjoyed the Brian Cox ones. I watched a programme on Parallel universes last week.......even MORE mind boggling. The theory is that our universe is one of many, all going on at the same time in layers like a liquorice allsort, but you can't see the others!!:-S :-S

Afternoon All Wet & windy start to the day, but now the suns out but it's very chilly. met friends for a coffeee this morning. then back home for lunch.
Roof on the porch and the men are fixing the brown guttering. I will try & take a photo later on when they have gone home for the day.
Expecting daughter no 1 & Sofia about 3, I have planned an activity for Sofia to keep her busy while her mum is away. she likes watching the traffic lights when she is in the car, and shouts red for stop, orange for get ready and then when the lights turn to green she shouts go mamma go :-D so I have cut out some circles from coloured card and a straw so she can make some traffic lights, and found some colouring in pictures of a car & bike so she can have her own game at playing stop & go

David, according to a computer 'expert' I spoke to, Nort**n anti virus really slows the computer down. I'm not keen on those Brian Cox type programmes, my poor old brain can't cope with too much information by the evening.
Hope you enjoyed your lunch Denise, Nice to get out and meet up with friends.
Cholestral's a funny thing, you'd think someone really skinny wouldn't have to worry about it but theirs can be just as high as a very fat persons.
Sofia is at the age I like when you can join in the colouring and stickers and things. Finley is still into his trains. I was over there last week and kept hearing this little voice call Nana, nana, I kept looking round couldn't work out where it was coming from, then found the cheeky monkey hiding behind a door. Daughter will be over tomorrow with Harry, so I'd better clear the decks, little fingers are into everything.

Spoke to soon about the sun.!!! It's clouded up now and looks cold out there, Have put the lights on in the lounge, so I can see to read.
Made a nice beef stew for this evening, nice and warming with a couple of slices of bread to soak up the gravy. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros has gor her new curtains up in the Bedroom, now talking of new curtains in the Lounge/Dinning room. They don't seem to have been up that long. "MORE EXPENCE" When I asked what she was doing with the bedroom curtains, she said."Give them to Martine" I said won't you want them for a change later, NO. I will buy new ones. I can't win. So keep my mouth shut. :-| :-| :-| :-|

Hasn't choleserol ALWAYS been around? It's not some thing new.In my understanding of chol its the stuff that lines your arterys making them narrower. They just know more about it these days and can "control" it some what through medication or diet. Many swear by garlic but you have to start early and take it long term.
Those theorys...Iv'e few of them,but I can't prove them ;-)

I watched some of the Astronomy Prog last night too.I fine it fascinating and so frustrating as I just can't seem to get my head around it all.But Amazing all the same.
I bet Sofia is busy making her traffic lights :-SI think traffic lights have always fascinated children.Even little tots in their pushchairs like to press the button :-D Remember The Tufty Club. Was it Tufty that did the Road Safety thing?I know I was a member of the Tufty Club :-D :-D
Frank I have never made a pair of curtains in my life :-SI wouldn't know where to begin :-S :-S.I do remember the first pair of Curtains that my Mum actually bought, after years of making all her own. They were a sage green velvety material thick and lined. They were lovely and Mum was so proud of them. They hung in our lounge /diner.
It seems to have suddenly got dark here.I just nipped down to put lights on and get the bin in at my neighbours.I did n't fancy taking Meg back in the total dark later. It's ok if it's your own house as you know where all the switches are .Both of the dogs are like sleeping beauties, but I know as soon as I move they will be up.They have actually been very quite today
Haven't been able to get hold of Janice yet.Her phone seems to be off :-S

I haven't been able to get hold of her Mel.I think her phone is off.I will wait until my BIL has been in this evening and then speak to him.I hope she is ok. Bit of a miserable day here too.But so mild.I'm boiling, and my nose is blocking up again :-S Casserole bubbling away gently and looking good.Potatoes on ready to mash, but probably won't eat until a bit later.I will take Meg home in about half an hour. Her 'mum&dad 'should be back about 8.30.I think they have been to see The Wizard of Oz in London.

Evening everyone,
We've had a drizzly old dull day here ,but so mild !!!
Just heard from my sister ,BIL had to go to the hospital about his knee today ,they told him he has an infection in the knee cap and that it will have to come out !! it will take up to six weeks to get rid of the infection and if it goes then they will put him another one in if not .....well we won't go there :-S :-S This was the first knee joint he had done about three years ago.
Time for a coffee.

I think the body makes some cholesterol in the liver David so it has always been around as you say. It is just when you have too much of it that there can be a problem with build up in the arteries. As Maureen says, being thin is no guarantee you don't have too much either. There is good and bad cholesterol too making up the overall figure and it is the balance of these that is important as well as the overall figure. :-S
Does Chester let Meg go in his basket Jane.......or hog it himself!! No news on Janice yet then.......bet BIL would have been in touch if there were any problems.
Shirl, I sent you a pic of the necklace, will send one of the BIG BIRD. Of course I still love you.....mwah......just a bit 'bird brained'!! When I told OH I had just seen a big bird, his response was that I was not the only one......cheeky or what!!! ;-)
It is still miserable here too and trying to spot with rain, warmer than yesterday though.
I bet little Sofia will love playing traffic lights. You do come up with some good ideas Fiona!
Maureen, you will be clearing the decks then and everything will be above toddler height. lol I bet little Harry will love exploring and testing you out!
Mandy, what a blow for your BIL and after 3 years as well. I hope the infection clears up quickly. It will be a while to recuperate again anyway won't it.
Hope Kim soon feels a bit better. xx

Oh the poor thing Jane!! It was quite a long operation wasn't it, so I suppose the anaesthetic effect could be worse. I bet she feels absolutely whacked. I do hope she feels a better soon as it starts to leave her system a bit. It just needs a bit more time I expect.
I do that too Mel........pick a few of the chips for me with my piece of fish and OH has the rest!! You have made me want some now. lol
