Thanks Mel for the reminder about Call The Midwife tomorrow! I watched it on the iplayer the other night and really enjoyed it. It also reminded me of when I was little and the district nurse would ride by on her bike in a navy blue mac. All 3 of us were born at home which I think was usual at that time.

I was wondering where you were Frank! My pony would have screeched to a halt at your gateway every time if you'd ever brought him a carrot!! :-D What a silly so and so whacking the horse like that.......I think that experience would have put me off too! He's been a lucky little boy has your grandson having a 'PAPPY' like you! No wonder he enjoys staying with you!! What is the book you are reading at the moment?

Morning All,

Started bright but clouded over now. Oh off ringing so home alone!

Hope all are as well as can be expected today.

Thoughts for our Kim and Janice.

Mandy how's the back today?

Frank have you banged that finger again? You need a finger stall for that to protect it.

Nice joint of Beef today.I don't think I have done a Sunday roast for some weeks now,so I reckon it's going to be appreciated by the men.Fitz may also be here to eat but not sure at the moment. He may just come up for a glass of something.

Afternoon one and all,

Not much to report from a cloudy Blisworth. The wind seems to be picking up.

Ann, I have just started reading Keith Floyds Autobiography, It's hardback so a bit of a change from the Ebook. Very interesting man, I've only got to chapter eight. so should get more interesting as it goes on.

Mel, The finger has dried up a fair bit now, being uncovered it's got the air to it. I do heal very quickly So by midweek should be O.K.

Have got a nice joint of pork for today, Roast Parsnips and Potatoes, Cauli, corn, mangetout, carrots, brussels, (I opened a jar of GOOSE FAT. and on the label it stated "MAY CONTAIN NUTS) Thats one for William..

Conrad and Jan will be here for lunch at about 1.30 pm so had better go and sort things out.

Oh. Forgot to mention, CHEESE SAUCE for the CAULI Jane, also apple sauce. I have made an apple crumble for sweet. with custard or double cream.

Denise, there is a site that you can log onto, thats has photo's of WOODFORD, and I think they would have other areas, and people post their memories on the site. I will look it up and advise you.

Afternoon all
Well we haven't eaten yet.James is having his ,and then he is off out.Fitz came (but not staying to eat).He was telling us that his eldest son Tom was involved in an awful thing at 7pm last night.
Frank you will know exactly where .Just at the top of Cranford Rd by the Traffic lights .By your old house.Tom hit a Horse!!!.Apparently horses got loose from Cranford Hall stables and had somehow got as far as here. His windscreen was caved in .Thankfully Tom and his girlfriend weren't hurt, and the Horse was up on it's feet ( I think bruised but ok).No doubt there will be something in the paper tomorrow.Fitz said there is all horse hair down the side of the windscreen :-S :-S.How scary for everyone involved.
Must just go and check the spuds now but will be back later.

Denise ,I just spoke to my sister a few minutes ago..She is ok but still having trouble with pain and swelling of her leg.She has told her children not to bother visiting today as I think she just can't be doing with visitors other than her OH.
I have suggested that once she is home and is a little more mobile she comes and stays with me for a few days. She sounds up for that :-D

The wind is Whistling around here too.I can hear it coming down the chimney.

MillymollyAmanda Report 22 Jan 2012 15:54

Poor Janice , when you have pain like that its a job to make conversation ,you just want to be quiet ,have they got her to her feet yet Jane ? or is she in to much pain for that ?

That accident with the horse could have been nasty ,thank goodness no one was hurt !!
Pork's smelling good , hubby's in charge of the oven today :-S :-S

Jane

Jane Report 22 Jan 2012 16:29

Mandy ,she is on her feet (just) .Says her toe nails look blue!!! .To me that says she is having trouble with blood flow to the tooties. It must be to do with all the swelling in the leg.As I was talikng to her ,she said "hang on " don't ring off.She was off to the loo.Popped her phone down her front and then carried on the conversation sat on the loo lol. Then she had to go as she couldn't sit there any longer as it was too painful.Didn't know what to do with her leg :-S
Apparently the Dr said he has never seen such bad swelling in the leg .(Trust Janice :-| :-|)

Is your Back any easier this afternoon?Do you think physio would help?

Jane, this will be the third GREAT grandchild (so far LOL) We have 9 grandchildren scattered around altogether, ranging from 4 to 34. Some who live closest we had such a rapport with (Frank, echoing your thoughts) Craig was with a us a great deal when he was little being the first grandchild. Siobhan (mother of two of our GGC) was a delight and such imagination. She was mad on ponies because she had a friend who had one. When she came to our house she would play ponies on our lawn. We'd bought her a skipping rope, this was used either to lead the imaginary ponies about, or as cavaletti. If it wasn't ponies, she would be 'interviewing ' me about our garden, using the skipping rope as a microphone! Such imagination - and we STILL have that skipping rope, come to think of it, I don't think ever skipped with it!! Happy days.

On an occasion (one of many) to the doctors, when you have that inevitable wait, I picked up a copy of Readers Digest, got so caught up in one article that I brought it home to finish because the doc called us in.
Anyway, I've found some 'Laughs' in the back that I thought I'd share with you, maybe make you smile and make up for the gales that have been howling around today. Here goes:-
People say "I'm taking one day at a time". You know what? So is everybody, that's how time works!

Just taught my kids how tax works. Just eaten 38 per cent of their ice cream!

What do we want? Bigger placards! When do we want them? No (think about it)...

I've just quit my job as a postman. They handed me my first letter to deliver, I looked at it and thought - 'This isn't for me!

I'm English and as such crave disappointment. That's why I buy Kinder Surprises!

I was playing chess with my friend and he said "Let's make this interesting".So we stopped playing chess!

I've no sense of direction . . . which makes it hard to storm off after an argument!

Question: What did the white grape say to the purple grape?
Answer: Breathe! breathe!

I think this ghost fancies me. It's been wooing me for ages.

Russian dolls are so full of themselves.

My interest in semaphore is flagging.

My optometrist thinks my thinks my eyes will probably improve. Unfortunately, my pessometrist thinks they'll get worse!

My seven year old son learned how important it is to spell properly after I took him to a sweatshop for his birthday as requested.

That's it, I'll have to go for a lie down now. I need to sleep off the thoughts of Frank's dinner. We're having poached salmon steaks. It was either that or they'd let theirselves out of our freezer and jump back in the ocean, they've been there so long!
Catch you all later. OH has to be at the Chronic Pain Clinic at 9am in the morning to have injections in the base of her spine again. Sooner her than me, but they do give her a lot of relief.
Byeeeeeee

Brilliant William
Love the which direction to storm off in :-D :-D,and the Russian Dolls lolol
I hope all goes well tomorrow with your OH's injections."ouch" Does she have to have these injections regularly ?

Mel I don't know that Janice has had circulation trouble. They have picked up an irregular heart beat or something.I do remember when she was young there was something about a heart murmur .But this is something she has always had.I'm sure the Dr's won't let her home unless they are happy.
