Having fun Jane. I could still muster up a slow gallop if the pub was at the end of it ..... ;-)

Hi Everyone,

Not much motivation happening here either!! lol I read somewhere that the 'old' tree will be available over the weekend. I'll stick with the old one as far as I am concerned. You used to be able to put a surname at the top and search for all with that surname in your tree. Up would come a list with their first names and dates of birth. I found that very useful but can't find where you can do this on the new tree!! :-S

That is a great thing to do that course David, useful and will sharpen the grey cells! I sometimes think I am stagnating a bit and aught to learn some new things. After working full time without any break for 38 years and constantly having training etc.it felt great but very weird to be retired at first. I sometimes think I may have eased off a bit too much now, although I wouldn't want to be back under that pressure again!! I signed up today for some of the events at the local Records Office so that is a start. lol They are on topics about the Quarter Sessions, Education Records and Hospital Records and one on advanced Family History, whatever that is!! Hope it's not 'over my head'.

Jane I gave up on a computer course once. It was about spreadsheets and databases and when we started to do something called macros I just couldn't do it and the teacher never seemed to be available to ask!!!

I hope Janice improves quickly or it might put her off having the other knee done. I bet she will be itching to get home next, at least there she will have things to occupy herself with and can be more relaxed. It is a shame her hubby has no job, but at least he will be able to help out at home while he looks for something else.

We took OH's car for it's MOT this morning. It passed ok, but it will need work on the back brakes soon. MORE EXPENCE, FRANK!! It's done just over 100,000 miles now and OH was saying if he had still been working it would be over 140,000. At least his cars should last a lot longer now! :-D :-D

You must have done a good job putting things out of little Harry's reach Maureen. As soon as they get mobile they are off aren't they!! Is he ok with the pussycats or do they skidaddle when little ones arrive?

Denise, we have riding for the disabled in a village near here and there is also driving for the disabled a few miles away. I suppose that could be an option if you couldn't ride. I must say I miss being around horses. Do you have a favourite, or do you ride different ones?

Oh William! You are right ,there is just something about a new born baby. You just had me all weepy there. How many Gt Grandchildren will you have when the new one arrives?
I think I will be in my dotage by the time I have any G Children. :-S.I will be the Grandma who is Gaga ;-)
My Sister absolutely loves and thrives on being a Grandma. She sees Finn and Amelia almost everyday.
I only ever knew 1 Grandparent .She scared the pants off me. :-S.But I called the people we lived next door to Granny and Grandad Warren.I was always in their bungalow. They had a wooden Chalet in the back garden that I used to play in .It had a veranda.I think it was put in when Grandad Warren had TB and that is where he lived for the duration of his illness.

You didn't crack the mirror then Shirl ;-).I tend not to look in the mirror as often as I used to.I get a fright sometimes lol.I think who the heck is that.............oh shucks .....it's me :-S.Crows feet, bags under the eyes and roots that need seeing to.That is just my face and head.Good job I can't see any lower in the mirror lol

It was one I bought as a teenager, Denise. There is a coloured pony in the field up the road and it has a white foal with no markings on born last September, very late in the year. I have been a bit worried about it over winter, but it has been fine and thankfully we haven't had that much frost ....yet!!
I used my pocket money for riding lessons when I was about 11 and had a favourite roan pony there called Bobby Joe!!

My MIL 'hankered' after grandchildren and even had a little box of baby stuff started and toys ready for me!! Yikes......too much pressure.....made sure it didn't happen and she gave up by the time I was 30 thank goodness!!!

I could do with taking a few mirrors down too Shirl !! lol With what I can see in mine I'm sure they were all from the 'hall of mirrors' and not the ones that make you look skinny! ;-)

Maureen Report 21 Jan 2012 17:25

Don't know why it is but the mirrors at my daughters are more flattering than mine at home.

The cats are pretty good with little fingers poking in places they shouldn't. Oscar just disappears, Coco will sit for a little while but Alfie will sit and be pulled about.

Have spent the last couple of hours sorting through all my photos on here, trying to put them in some sort of order, shouldn't have looked at the earlier ones though, just realised how many wrinkles my face has got now.

Annx Report 21 Jan 2012 17:30

Yes, it was Bradgate Park again Shirl, where Lady Jane Grey, the 9 days queen lived and the ruins of her house are. The park was gifted by a Charles Bennion for the 'quiet enjoyment of the people of Leicester.' What a gift too.....there is no other place I know quite like it. Trouble is people don't respect it as much as years ago. I have even seen Northampton Fire Service using it as a running track. I expect that sort of thing will happen now councils are charging for parks to be used by groups and personal trainers. Too many untrained dogs chasing the deer too.:-( I would be surprised if William hasn't been there?

Evening All

Been out most of the day, food shopping this morning and then off to Hom**ase and B*Q looking at floor tiles, kitchen cupboards and blinds, sink & drainer, just getting idea's for the new porch

I have sorted out some Christmas photo's so will try & send them off,

Did a daft thing today & tripped over a flag stone , fell on my knee's a bit sore but was more bothered about my good brown jeans hopeing I hadn't damaged them but no hole , unfortunatly the shop where I bought them doesn't do them any more, I find it difficult to get brown jeans that fit.

Well yes Jane the ironing pile is going down but you keep on washing too. It is just a vicous circle :-(

Bet Alfie loves having the kids around Maureen.

I did'nt get any ironing done today in fact I have'nt even been in that room.

I too have just not wanted to do anything today. Oh just asked for muffins and butter and jam. I pulled the grill pan out and it was still dirty from yesterdays dinner. (oh never washes up anything that is really dirty!!) It had been pushed back in and closed up. So I had to put them in the taoster and fish them out with the tongs.

Curry tonight and I have everything layed out ready to start.......when I feel like it. :-|

Sounds like we have all been a bit Lackadaisical today Mel. Not heard that expression for yonks :-D

Fiona .I hope your poor knees aren't too sore. They do take a bashing when you land on them :-S :-S

Maureen

Maureen Report 21 Jan 2012 18:30

I can never seem to find brown jeans full stop Fiona. I've got quite a lot of tops that would go better with brown rather than blue or black.

I very rarely clean my oven Mel, but then I very rarely use it anyway. Harry was quite good with Alfie but Finley is a bit rough but he still keeps going back for more ..... stupid cat .......

Going to watch a film on freeview in a minute, The Borrowers, think it was on over Christmas and I quite fancied it but we didn't see any TV over the holiday.

Poor old you SHIRL, I thought you were going to say " IT TURNED OVER " lol

Had a very lazy day Jane, sat and read and dozed in the arnchair.

I Only got on a horses back once. Then some silly sod smacked it's ar#e and made it bolt. I came of when it tripped on some tree roots. Then bolted down the road into the village. NEVER AGAIN. But I do love to stroke them over a field gateway and when the young girl comes by on hers,I go out with a carrot or two.

I had a quick look at the tree, it said "your tree" then "TRY NEW TREE" I clicked on and nothing happened.

Join the Clan Denise. My birthay is the 22nd December as was my dear twin sister. Also my brother is 7 years older than me on the same day.
So glad you have stayed with us, you will soon know everything about us all.

William, We had the pleasure of having our grandson, from a few weeks old till he was four. My wife would go to his house on Monday morning, stay Monday night, then bring him back to us till Friday (BOTH PARENTS WORKED FULL TIME) She would bring him to see me at work, a couple of times a week. I had so much pleasure being with him. I taught him to play football, ride his bike, fishing, I still have his 1st pair of football boots in the top of my waldrobe. I will give them to him some day.
