Hi all. Just in case some of you thought I'd died, or something even more serious had happened to me, it's all been greatly exagerated. I've popped in from time to time to read thread updates, but have been so busy lately I haven't had time to post anything.
However, I've just read Frank's latest email effort and it certainly got my laughing gear going. So I thought I'd pop in and add a few words.
Jane, I hope you got your money back off your son! What a cheek giving up on his Mum. Talking of computer skills, I think I put my foot in it on Tuesday morning, (Not the computer - my mouth, of course!!!) My wife had to see the new lady locum doc and when it came to typing up my wifes update on the computer, her fingers were fair flying over the keyboard. Like a twit I said out loud "It's nice to see someone who can type faster than our usual doctor (name given)". It was then I realised he was probably her mentor - I hope word doesn't get back to him when I need some minor op doing....
I was very lucky to have a wonderful step son (now sadly passed away & much missed) who was a computer whizz, taught me everything and even wrote and sold books on the subject. At least when I'm working on a computer I can feel that I have a lot to thank him for and also know I'm close to him in some way. He never got on with his birth father and so we became very, very close. I still miss him now.
Frank, send another email, I need cheering up!
Anyway, you'll all be pleased to know I haven't been wasting my time, and have even made yet more headway with my family history and helped a couple of others along the way.
Anyway, off to put the kettle on now (or maybe open the drinks cabinet!).
Catch you all soon, take care and be good. If you can't be good - oh, hell, just enjoy life . . . . .

William I'm sorry for the loss of your Stepson ,you were obviously very close.Maybe without his help we wouldn't be talking to you now.
I never got a penny back from my son lol(I was a very difficult student
:-S :-S :-S)
As you say Enjoy Life.It is a waste if we don't.

I will be off to bed shortly so will say Night Night now.Sweet Dreams everyone x

Hello snoozers,

Dull and damp here today.

Girls glad you got those cards, but I never know how long it will take for them to arrive. Last year it took 4 weeks and the Christmas cards were there in days. Just tuck them away until the day, but don't lose them!!!! I still remember the Christmas stamps saga.

Fiona hope the sinus is a bit better today. I have had a couple of nose bleeds lately - definitely infection happening, but allergies too. The heavy feeling in the head is awful.

Frank I am on a downer most days because of the limitations of my health and I can't take anti-depression medication as it affects my other conditions. I hope the questionnnaire will aid the doctor in sorting out your meds. I try to have a bit of fun on here and fb and then there are days that I can't cope at all. No easy solutions, but I can empathise.

Jane good that you could talk to Janice and wise not to visit her yet. Sorry that your BIL lost his, but good that he will not have to go back there everyday. Sounds like a tense, unfriendly place to work.

Have not had another look at my tree. There are problems with the "Known As" box, all the knicknames are missing and some was information provided by other people. They have me married to two men at the same time and all my first marriage details are missing. Hope it gets sorted soon as it is the only record I have.

Best wishes to everyone else, have a good day. 4.16 pm DST

Morning all

It is a horrible day here at the moment, blowing a gale and it was raining just now.

I hope a new day finds you all well.

I am going to Homebase this morning believe it or not I am trying to find some ordinary light bulbs and the only place I can get them is somewhere like Homebase.

I hope your sister is still pogressing well Jane. You will be so pleased when you can finally visit her.

I do hope you feel better soon Frank, maybe if they adjust your meds it may help. - I hope so.

I try to make a comment to everybody who has posted but I cannot always remember what people have said, but I think of you all. Since Christmas I have become quite involved on this thread. I enjoy reing everybodys comments and I feel that I know you all personally now with your stories of your families etc.

I have a sister and a brother I am the youngest they have children and grandchildren and I love them all loads.

My sister is 70 this year my brother will be 66 this year and I will be 62 this year I was a Christmas baby 24th actually.

My youngest nephew is getting married in Thailand in September but I wont be going because I am too scared of the flight the heat and having to take my medication (which I know all sounds very pathetic) but I wont be going.

I hope I havent bored you all too much with this post. But I felt I could share it with you now.

Morning Denise,

Thanks for filling us in with some history about family. I am from my mother's second marriage (only child). My half brothers are older Bill is 64 this year and Ron (dec.) would have been 66. I am also in my second marriage and I have a son 21 and daughter 17. My husband has a son from his first marriage and he is 30.

You don't sound pathetic at all. Not everyone likes flying and the heat is oppressive in some of these tropical countries. Plus medication is a pain at the best of times, having to pack it all with everything labelled and accounted for.

They have put in an option and the old trees are back for the time being. I have added some information today while the going was good. I don't believe it will be a permanent option (just until they fix the bugs). :-S

Roast lamb for tea tonight, smells good. BBL 6.35 pm DST

Jane thats awfull that BIL has lost his job at this time in his life but if he was'nt really happy there perhaps it is a good thing. Hope he can find something else soon. Please give Janice love and wishes and wish her a speedy recovery, from me, when you talk to her again. Thinking of her..... <3 xx

I have only had a quick look at the new tree. Don't know if I shall be able to work it or not yet!! Don't like change when I can use something and then there is more to it!!

I give up with this tree business! First thing this morning I had my old tree back, now I can't get either trees!!! When I press the 'your tree' button it comes up as a fault - I'm getting a mini version of the new one, but can't get a full tree! Why oh Why did they have to alter it?! Unless it's sorted I for one will NOT be paying my sub, as I feel really fed up, if only Genes could have sent a general message warning us all of these changes, it would have been easier, instead of just landing us with them. I agree Mel, I hate change, once I've learned to use something that's it, I don't want to have to learn it all over again! Lovely day here, so am off out for a walk to unwind!!!

Morning Everyone.Well what a morning.Wind ,rain :-S.But now it looks like it could be clearing up(a bit)

No Denise you haven't bored us at all.I think it is nice to know somethings about eachother.
I wouldn't be able to stand the heat in Thailand either .I went to a wedding in Dubai a couple of years ago and just about coped with the temperature then and it was in March so was just 'warm'.I think it was about 38/39deg.
I much prefer cold weather.

I have been married for 30 years and have a daughter Hannah who is 28 and son James 26.I have one sister .OH is a GP and is looking forward to retiring next year.
Don't worry about commenting on everyones posts. It is impossible to do.No-one gets offended.

Well while the rain is holding off I will nip to Tes** BBL

The house has survived Harry's visit. He was as good as gold really but he's on the move now and fast. Must get some christmas photos sorted to send.

What a result Ann, 50% offl, you're going to need a big jewellery box to fit all your lovely creations in.

I thought Shirl. meant beetroot too, thought at the time once they put it down it would like like there'd been a massacre. Just shows how differently our minds work, there's Mandy visualising pink snowmen and me seeing dead bodies and blood everywhere :-0 :-0 :-0

Good to see you posting Kim, hope that means you are having one of your better days.

Poor Janice, I bet she's wishing she'd never had that op, but I'm sure it will all be worth it eventually, hopefully as each day passes she will be feeling better, she'll be hop, skipping and jumping about in no time.

We like to hear about everyone's families Denise brings us all closer together. Have sent you a PM.

Nothing happening here today!! Been up the shop for the papers and thats about all. Might go aND DO SOME IRONING.........
Sorry hit the cap lock by mistake.

Jane

Jane Report 21 Jan 2012 15:04

No damage or breakages then Maureen from little Harry :-D.Funny you say Hop ,Skipping and Jumping .I put that in the card I sent Janice lol.I don't she had any choice for the op .The knee was totally knac*****.Problem now is she knows her other one is not good :-S.So sometime in the future(not sure how long) she will need that one ding too.I reckon it is because of all her running she did when she was at school. She was a sprinter and ran for Devon Schools.

Denise ,are you near your Sister?I am about 100 miles from mine.We have no family here.Just me ,Chris and the kids.I often feel quite envious of those who have family close by.

Mel how big is that ironing pile now??.Any less?

Frank are you having a quiet day today?

Well it is a dark and dismal afternoon.Lights on all over the place here.I don't seem to be able to get motivated to do anything. So I think I will read the paper .

Maureen

Maureen Report 21 Jan 2012 15:21

I'm exactly the same Jane, no motivation, was finishing off a painting and came down for lunch that was 2 hours ago, don't feel like doing anything now.

Being so athletic in your youth can come back to haunt you, my brother has bad knees, played a lot of football as a youngster and did a lot of running too. The only place you would get me running to in my youth was to the nearest pub;-)

LilyL Report 21 Jan 2012 15:23

Hooray, old tree back on MY computor - take back what I said - much happier now!

William

William Report 21 Jan 2012 15:32

Lizzy, I looked at the new tree format that came on yesterday and it was sooooo slow to get anywhere. Also, when I looked at my wifes profile, half of the information was MY information! I sent a report to them letting them know I wasn't too well pleased with what was going on. Why didn't they ask us what we wanted, goodness knows there must be feedback for them in the community section alone -or don't they ever read it?
Anyway, I'm off there now to see what the start of play is.

I hope Frank is feeling a little more cheerful today. His emails certainly make it easier for me to get through each day with a smile. I know how things can get one. I've been a carer for my wife for 15 years now and sometimes I feel in such dark places. But at the end of the day, each wake up should be a bonus (that sounds gibberish!!!) but hey, you all know what I mean. I guess when we see our great grandchildren, it makes life all worthwhile again. Few more weeks and another one should enter our lives, can't wait. I love it when they are new born and their teeny little fingers grip your great big sausage fingers - that is just M A G I C.

Anyway, catch you all soon. Stay warm!

Jane

Jane Report 21 Jan 2012 15:37

Hi Liz.You are a happy bunny now then lol
Maureen. It sounds like we were very similar in our youth ;-)Nothing wrong with that though.I had loads of fun. Can't remember all of it though :-S.What were we like eh??
