You all talking about daffs. I picked some the other day, well last Sunday I think. I mentioned it that oh was going to pick me some and then did'nt. Well they are still on the window sill.

We hav'nt had the heating on today as it brightened up and we have had sun for most of the day.

I went up the village hall when I heard the tractors come back and they parked them all in the village hall carpark. All squeezed in and we could'nt get out our gateway if we tried. I got some good pics of some of them but others I just could'nt get far enough away to take a shot. They ent on a 25 mile run and there were about 45 trctors. some had their boxes on the back all fitted out with seat for the children or old children.

I can't beleive that Frank has had snow again!!!

William Report 17 Mar 2013 18:06

Poor Patricia, that's five times she bathed those dogs! They must be well and truely clean now! :-D
Aint it the pits when technology takes over!!!

Mel, the word twerp just came back to me out of the blue - I'd say it's onomatapaeic but I can't spell that :-(

Jane, at the moment we are going with daughter Dorothy in her husbands car, I don't usually drive for more than an hour at a time now. Actually, the family are all being very supportive at the moment as are our friends. However, when we finally get to Skegness, it will all break lose again I think when we meet Jim's widow, Dawn and the two daughters, Anne-Marie and Lauren. It will be the first time the two of us have seen them since they became pregnant. It will seem strange 'meeting our future grandchildren bumps' in advance.

Without getting too morose, I'll keep you all updated. C Y A L

Annx Report 17 Mar 2013 18:13

Cor, we had a real snowstorm earlier , thick flakes that settled for a while, but it's all gone again now. It was even worse over Hinckley way later.

Sorry to hear Chris has Bell's palsy Jane, hopefully he will soon see improvement and be better. It was lucky that Chester had the tablets he needs in his stash!! OH chuckled at that when I told him and he said that he could do with a few Bob Martins himself if Chester has any going spare!! :-) lol. I suppose it can take a little while to settle down so I can understand him not going into work. He won't get much done if all of his patients start asking the doctor what's the matter will he. :-S

William, it was good that your great grandchildren were a happy distraction for you both. You need something like that for a short while at these times. Did you see they arrested 60 people in Nuneaton yesterday morning before the match? I'm glad OH didn't go, he thought it would be off like Hinckley's match was.

Pat I don't envy you trying to wash and dry 2 dogs!! I think there would be a big wet mess if I tried. Max is such a lovely looking little dog but sounds like a very strong little character.......maybe you should have got a girlfriend for Mocha instead!! lol. The chop should certainly steady him down a bit though and I think I have read there are health benefits having it done too. I don't expect he will be keen on the vets after tomorrow though. :-S

Little Finley is as cheeky as ever Maureen.......that's how mummy parks!!!!! lol :-D He's growing up fast isn't he.

I hope you soon feel better Fiona, you can feel quite run down with these things and it doesn't help when you can't get a good night's sleep. Poor Sofia must be feeling miserable too, hopefully the reaction will soon wear off.

How kind you are Frank, :-) that must have been a relief for Martine to be able to do trips to the hospital. I bet she ate all her dinner because it was delicious and because she probably had been too worried to eat properly before.

Mel, it's a pity you don't have tree roots needing pulling out with all those tractors parked in your drive. ;-) Hope you got some pics. Yes, men have a way of disappearing when something like that happens!!

We were saying when we went out today how bad the waterlogged fields were with big puddles and pools in them. The gateways are full of churned up mud as are the farmyards you can see from the road. Some of the roads are so muddy now they've put warning signs up. I think some crops will be ruined if the wet weather continues, you can see already that there are patches not growing.

Ann they did'nt park up our driveway after all. They were all in the village hall carpark but we could'nt have got out past all the parked tractors.

Jane that was a fair amount of snow you had, thanks for the video.

Frank Report 17 Mar 2013 19:37

What Video ??? Don't I count.. Snow was all gone before dark, I bet everywere is soaked again.

I spoke to Lewis tonight (He rang me) Chelsea beat West Ham 2-0 I said to Ros that little bugg## will ring to rub my nose in it. When he spoke, he started laughing. When I asked why he said "you had a hazzard today" that was one of the scorers

Have sent some more bits on to you all.

Thanks Mel for the info. I have passed it all on..

No news this end, so will say night, night, sleep tight.

Nothing planed for today, It looks like Scotland is in for a rough day, with high winds, snow and ice. Take care if you go out Fiona. South Coast expect rain. NO SPRING YET !!!

Hope Chris is feeling O.K. this morning, looking on Google, I don't think there is a cure for it, correct me if I am wrong.

Morning everyone,Evening Kim,

When we went to bed last night just after ten it was snowing !! huge flakes and was beginning to lay ,i quite expected to see the ground all covered this morning but it had all gone , no frost ,no fog and its now brightening up the sun it trying to break through.

Been to the Sue Ryder charity shop this morning and dropped some things off , one thing was a toy garage ,i was glad to see the back of it every time you moved it it had this annoying voice saying " i am speed " it started up as i walked across the car park and again in the shop and everyone turned round to see what
it was !! :-S :-D the little ones didn't really play with it so it might as well go to another home to annoy some one else :-D

Any improvement with Chris today Jane? hope he soon gets better .

Oh dear poor little Max , you;ll be in his bad books Pat when he gets home sending him to get his bits done :-S :-D

Right hover up next then steam mop my floors .

Still no David i see !!

LilyL Report 18 Mar 2013 11:44

That reminds me Mel, OH in this house needs his hair cutting. My trouble is cornering him to have it done!! tonights the night!!!
Busy old morning here, just one job after another grrr! Lovely sunny day though with washing on the line so shouldn't grumble - but I do!!!!
Millie had a brush and comb + a good grooming this am, her paws are now about half the size they were with all her fur intact. She HATES having it done so I have to be firm! As for bathing! that's a complete No, No, till the summer when I get out the old tin bath (galvanised) which goes back into the mists of time, and bath her outside in that. Again she HATES it, a complete 'girls blouse' it so it doesn't happen more than two or three times a year!
Jane, I hope Chris is feeling a bit better today and responding to the steroids. What a winter it's been healthwise, there always seems to be something.
Been having a 'think' about Easter; not quite sure what the story is yet - have to wait and see!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Mar 2013 12:16

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Well the sun has been shining all morning after a very hard frost last night.

I put the camera on Hogwart last night and he was very active all through the night and into the early hours of this morning. The camera took 100 pics and videos so thats why I was'nt on here early as it took me ages and ages to delete the ones I did'nt want and watch all the videos. Then I had to do all the bins ready for oh to take up the top. I put the recycling stuff out last night as I had had it here for three weeks by now having missed them the last three times as they come sooooooo early and oh won't put it out if it's windy as all the plastics blow up the road and the men don't pick it up.

I also had two weeks of Hogwart's newspaper so that was two bins and two bags.

When oh had put the rubbish up the top he asked me if I wanted the bad news. Yes says I, the recycling men had'nt been by the time he put the bags out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TYPICAL :-| :-| :-|

Then I put the washing in and he wanted his hair cut. Thats all done now but he wanted it done outside and he sat on our new bench on the decking. It was awful to try and lean over the back and then he had to move to the other side as the arm was getting in the way. Never again on that bench will I cut his hair........... :-( :-S

Now it is time to get the washing on the line and then lunch and then Bideford to get my new glasses adjusted and on to the shopping. I shall be glad when today is over.

O and when I had that bad day Saturday I also hit just under my knee with the hoover plug as I was winding the lead up. I have a lump under my knee like a reflection of my knee cap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it hurts :-(

I hope Chris is not worse today with his palsey. I know they can take ages to clear up sometimes months.

Liz how old are you???? and you hav'nt found out about Easter yet...

Sorry only joking but that was the way I read your post.... :-D

LilyL

LilyL Report 18 Mar 2013 12:45

I've just re-read it Mel!!! As you probably guessed it was ref:- the family and their plans!!! but I can see how it could be deciphered!!!!!! Heaven only knows what they'll be up to, but I guess we'll be included somewhere!!
Dear oh dear Mel, I hope your knee feels better soon, it sounds very painful! Your hair cutting saga sounded very uncomfortable too! I shall stick to our usual mode of operation ie: up to the table!!

Jane Report 18 Mar 2013 13:10

Well I have just got back from the Vet.I only went to have Chesters Anal Glands sorted and came out a £118 lighter :-S.Ended up having an MOT and bloods.(because of him losing weight).I this the stress of all has knocked him out as he has crashed out in the middle of the floor and is snoring his head off.

I hope Max has had his delicate op.They don't take long to get over it.

Mandy .Those toys that talk suddenly when you haven't done anything drive you nuts don't they.I bet you are pleased now to be shot of that one lol

I'm going to try and make a Chicken ,Leek and Lemon pie for tonight.Wish me luck.

Chris said if he can speak better by Wednesday he will go back to work then.He can't be tripping over his words .I think his mouth and blinking are not as good as yesterday. His nose is numb too now.I just hope it doesn't extend more.It will just take time to return to normal.Weeks at the least.

LilyL Report 18 Mar 2013 14:14

It's taken flipping AGES to get on here as the 'error' sign is constantly coming up. It's been doing this for ages now on and off, and to say that it is annoying and time wasting is an understatement!! Perhaps an email to Genes is in order?!
Goodness Jane, these vets are getting beyond a joke! Millies teeth need doing soon and I've had a quote of between £125 and £250!! depending on whether or not she has to have any teeth removed!! Luckily we don't want another dog when she goes, but I think we'd think twice about having the smallest hamster!!!

Jane

Jane Report 18 Mar 2013 14:20

Hello ,Hello Hello Liz :-D :-D
Yes GR need to get this Error notice sorted .It has been going on for far too long now.
The sun is shining beautifully .I think I might get another load of washing in pdq

Maureen Report 18 Mar 2013 14:42

Thanks for the e.mails Frank, loved the chocolate and cake one, all of those cakes were amazing, how clever some people are, must have taken ages to make.

Poor Chester Jane, sounds like he's feeling the strain of getting old, at least he has a loving 'mummy' to care for him. Perhaps we should have steered our children when they were thinking of careers towards becoming a vet, there's certainly money to be made there.

Hope Chris is improving, do you know what causes it. At least he knew what was happening, I imagine if you had no medical knowledge it would be really scary.

Have missed out on the snow ............. better not speak too soon ........... but it is cold and wet and they are predicting even colder this week, are we ever going to get a Spring.

Fiona Report 18 Mar 2013 14:48

Afternoon All

I'm late on today as I have just got back from daughter no 1 house , I have been looking after Sofia while her mum went to the chemist for the third time with a faulty thermometer,
first one wouldn't give a reading, second one wouldn't switch on, and the last one, gave the same reading every time, so daughter didn't know exactly how high Sofia's temp was,
She is a little better today, has had a small slice of toast for lunch and drank lots of apple juice, daughter is trying to get Sofia to drink more water, I took up some blackcurrant juice which can flavour the water and hopefully she will drink that.
I think it will be a 2 or 3 days till she is well enough to go back to nursery,
It's Matteo's turn on Thursday for his jabs so I will have to go up again to look after Sofia or if she is better take her to nursery and mum will pick her up later.
