Afternoon All,

I had a bad night as well Frank........the trots in my case!! :-S It must have been about 4.00am before I dropped off to sleep. I decided to watch the film 'We bought a Zoo' between 'trips' and really enjoyed it.

I cut OH's hair yesterday and he put the wrong thing on the clippers so it cut it REALLY short!! He's now pondering whether to shave some of his beard so he has a goatee to get things a bit more 'balanced. ' lol. He has his hair done outside in the summer too.....makes less mess and guess who ends up cleaning up the mess?? :-|

Jobs, jobs, jobs up to now. :-S I've cleaned out the fridgefreezer and relined all the fridge trays with foil. Then I managed to tip a bowl of water up, but most of it landed on laundry that was about to be put on so that was a stroke of luck. Then I put the new bird feeding station together that's been waiting to be done for a few months!! I just have to decide where to put it now. Next job is to sort the cupboards in the uti and give it a clean.

I needed a new one of those 5p size batteries so nipped into the village to the Co-*p asked if they had them (yes, at the kiosk) picked up a few bits and bobs for OH and by the time I got to the kiosk had forgotten all about the battery!! :-( I'm getting worse......mind like a butterfly!! lol)

I hope it is all over for Max now Pat!! Fancy Mocha not wanting his brekkie on the one day Max wouldn't be there wanting to share it! He must be missing him.

Mandy, some of those toys can really get on your nerves........don't blame you for getting rid. I pity the unsuspecting mum that gets begged to buy it!! lol :-D

I hope Chris's face improves soon Jane, he must be a bit fed up with it now.

BBL.......suns out!! :-D

Yes, the emails were brilliant Frank.........especially the choccy one like Maureen says.

It sounds like 'needles' week at your daughter's Fiona. I bet little Matteo won't like his much. I have my NHS check tomorrow, so will be fasting tonight. I think they do a finger prick for the cholesterol test, but I think those are worse than injections!!

Fiona

Fiona Report 18 Mar 2013 15:29

Hi Ann
Yes this will be the second appointment in the last fortnight for Matteo. this time it's 3 jabs in the thigh, he just cries and then daughter feeds him and he is happy so far Matteo has had no bad reactions after his jabs,
At least that will be the last time Sofia get a vaccine for a long while, the next is when she will be in 2nd year high school ,and thankfully daughter no 1 has nothing to do with it then

I go to the doctors every 3 months for for Kidney and Cholesterol check and they always take two lots of blood :-| :-| :-( and when I phone in for results a week later usually everything is fine.

Busy little bees.

Oh Liz, I love it when you get firm !!! poor dog.

When I first met Ros she always cut my hair and did it for years, but when her back got really bad, I had to go to the hairdressers.Ros always trimmed the poodles and did their glads every few weeks. We were very lucky with that thy hardly cost us at all with vets fees.

We took the car for MOT this morning. It needs FOUR NEW TYRES. Which they don't have in stock. They will get them for tomorrow, so Ros will drop it off before she goes out with Carolyn. The only saving grace is that they will give me a discount as I need four, and the cost of MOT is half price. But still a large lump of money. And I don't even drive :-D :-D :-D

ERROR notice for a couple of hours this morning, and I get it quite often. Are they doing anything to ther site ???

Mel, I can just see you balancing around the decking trying to cut OHs hair. Hope your glass's will fit now they have been adjusted. Hows the knee today ??? We always put a brick on the lids of our plastics and paper box's Those in the close that don't often have the tins all over the place.

Turned out to be a very warm morning, After doing the MOT we went for a stroll around M & # and HOMESEN## Couldn't believe my eyes, at some of the prices of things, I was soon out of there before she got any ideas ;-) ;-) ;-) Give an inch and you girls take a yard. !!

No Prem football tonight as England are playing tomorrow. So will have to stay in, and i've run out of beer.

Nipping in quick while the Internet is still up.It has been off for ages :-S

Well Chesters blood results were not what I was hoping. His Kidneys are failing :-(.This most likely is the cause of his weight loss.I have to get a Wee sample first wee in the morning and take it in.It looks like a special diet now(that won't be easy).Thankfully he is insured so any meds or treatment will be covered now.The excess is £115 plus 20% !! I don't quite understand the 20% bit.
His teeth (like Millie ) need a good de-plaque ,but his gums are good.
I don't want to think about how long he has :-( :-(

I will read this afternoons posts in a bit.

Ann I like the ind like a butterfly!! :-D :-D :-D Think I have one of those too.

I think those boxe of chocs were great, no waste there or recycling to do.

Our recycling people have just changed all ours. We now have a brown bag for cardboard and a green one for paer like before and the green box for all the tins and bottles etc. They did issue wheely bins for the crdboard but we could'nt manage one of those because it is such a long way to get it up the top so we never applied for one.

I bought one of those talkling toys for next doors grandchild some years ago. It was all to do with farm animals but I only had to listen to it when I was there for coffee if Amely was there. There are another 4 more grandchildren there now so I wonder who has it now??

Oh is out ringing so I had better get something ready for dinner for when he gets in. I have some nice pork and leek sausages with mustard mash and broccoli I think.

Oh dear Jane, I'm sorry to hear about Chester, It's not easy when a beloved pet gets old. I think so long as he's not in discomfort you will be able to control his problem for quite sometime - I speak a bit from experience as our first little Sheltie had the same problem when she became a 'senior citizen; That was 36 years ago and medical treatment has improved dramatically, so fingers crossed.
Hair has now been cut,!! and repectability restored!!! I had to be firm about that too Frank! ;-)
SIL emailed! they are now back in France, but it is cold and they have had to light their woodburner - I've been all sympathy!!!!!!

Hopefully the new diet will help his kidneys Jane. I just can't believe what vets charge nowadays!

It's bin day tomorrow here as well Mel. Our paper wheelie bin is the only one that gets filled up. We have another wheelie for the rubbish, a little box for cans and plastic, another for glass and polythene bags for old batteries. We have to put our house numbers on ours or they end up at the neighbours.

Well it took the 2 of us to push the birdfeeder post in!!! It looks straight but the water dish has a bit of a tilt so I'll have another look at it tomorrow, wedge it somehow.

Better do me a note not to have a cuppa in the morning.........anything could happen with this butterfly mind!! lol. In fact I'd better go and get my last one now........then it's water only till I've been to the docs. I just looked at the paperwork as there's a form to fill in. One bit of paper says it takes 15min, another says 20min to half an hour. :-S

snowing again here but not very heavy,

JANE , I hope Chester will be ok, it's a hard time when a loving pet grows old,

OH left for Madrid this afternoon so I'm on my own again till Friday,

Goodness Ann you do have a lot of different bins,
we have a blue one for recycling, cardboard & plastic
gray one for household rubbish
a red one for glass

that's enough bins to try and remember, the blue and gray bins alternate every week on a Wednesday and the glass bin goes out on the last Tuesday of every month,,

going to make a cuppa now ,

I had an atrocious nights sleep last night.Bad and weird dreams.I even woke Chris up asking him if he could hear 'That Drill' that was going .He just told me to turn over and go back to sleep lol.So I will let Chester out now ,(get the disposable glove and pot ready ) to collect the wee in the morning, and then I shall be away to bed.

Jane..sorry to hear about Chester..Im glad you managed to get sample lol.I didn't realise he was that old...

Hope you slept better last night as well..

Frank Report 19 Mar 2013 11:20

Morning all/Evening Kim,

Jane, so sorry to hear about Chester. The 20% will be VAT won't it ???

Bad night again last night, awake at 4.30 am had a job to lay there till 7.45. Then gor up and had a cups of tea. Toasted (burnt) hot X buns this morning. It's the sugar glaze that burns. But I ate them anyway. No waste here.

Not a bad sort of day here, at least it's dry. The birds are busy around the feeders.

Martine's OH had his tubes out yesterday, he looked a lot brighter last night. They got him out for a walk around the ward. which helped to get all the rubbish off his chest. He could be home for Sunday. If not she will come to dinner again. She made Ros laugh when she said "If he is home, I might leave him here and still come to dinner"

I've got a form through from the NHS regarding my Physio treatment. They need to know everything except my inside leg measurement.!!! Ros is filling it out now before I ring to make an appointment.

The council are changing our bins this month. They are doing away with the small bins, and issue us with a wheelie bin (BLUE) They are also issueing us with a waste food box, a small one in the kitchen and a larger one to transfer it to. Where the hell they expect us to keep all these I don't know.

Ros is just off to drop the car off, and go shopping with Carolyn, so HOME ALONE. T V can go off now PEACE

Morning All, Evening Kim,
Took ages to get on here this morning , no internet connection,

Dull wet day, trying to snow again,

Daughter no1 will hopefully be back from the doctors now with Sofia, she looked brighter yesterday when I was there, but seemingly daughter was up again in the middle of the night with Sofia running a high temp of 40 again, so daughter phoned the surgery and they said bring her down at 11 this morning ,
Poor Sofia is certainly having a rough time of it, she has a mouth ulcer and cracked lips which are bleeding a little too,

Fiona

Fiona Report 19 Mar 2013 12:45

Just popped into say, daughter no 1 phoned , Sofia has a viral throat infection and the MMR vaccination has probably aggravated it a little more, Ears and chest are fine.

Daughter to carry on giving the Cal*ol & nuerofen medication and to phone drs at the end of week if Sofia is no better,
Seemingly Sofia'a big cousin Melissa in Italy is prone to the same viral infection and is quite often poorly to she is 6 years old.

coffee time :-D :-)

Afternoon everyone,Evening Kim,

Dull here today after a foggy start , i think its quite chilly too.

Jane, sorry to hear about Chester , lets hope with a special diet and medication he can keep going for a few more years , when you think about it both him and Toby are pensioners really :-) Toby has been off colour the last couple of days ,i think he's pulled another muscle like last time ,when you pat him he whines a little ,but he sprints about the garden some times as if he a puppy again !!

Is Chris a little better today ?

You all have lots of different bins !! we have a green wheelie bin for general household rubbish and a black one for recycle, which is newspaper ,cardboard and tins , and the bottles go to the bottle bank,so its green bin out this week and black bin out next week.

If we want we can pay for a brown wheelie bin which is just for garden rubbish and that is so much per year and emptied i think every fortnight.
I don't know if i would want a food bin standing about !! think of the flies in the summer ,having said that we don't have much food waste ,we're pretty good really ....or just greedy that we eat it all :-D :-D

Poor little Sofia with those cracked lips and an ulcer ,hope she soon feels better .

Right better get on i'am having my hair cut later .

Frank ,you and I could have had a natter at 4.30.I woke and no chance of going off again.I got up at 6.30 to follow Chester out to the garden. He did look a bit worried when I bent down waving a pot underneath him lol.
Friday he is going in to the vets for the day to have his blood pressure monitored and I'll pick up a new bag of food(I bet he will turn his nose up )

Oh Pat.I can see you having fun for the week keeping the dogs apart. How is Max coping with the 'lampshade'?

Poor Sofia ,Fiona.I hope she soon gets over this nasty infection <3It must be making her feel so poorly :-(

Chris is going to work in the morning.I'm not sure how he will get on with the talking to all the patients, but I'm sure if he finds it too difficult he will just have to come home. Some food is not too easy to eat either. It took him much longer than normal last night to finish his dinner.

I must get the ironing board out and make a start on this pile of clothes and bedding.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Mar 2013 15:58

Here I am after a very busy morning. I had to send all the tractor pics to the girl who runs the village hall. Can only send them two at a time and that took most of the morning and then Di called (my friend who used to clean for us) She brought me my birthday presents. She has phebitus and he poor leg is so bad and she is in such pain she can't work.

Seeing her leg reminded me of how mums used to look and she always told me I was hurting her when I washed her feet. I would only be holding her leg normaly but she would say I was holding her tight. She also had this sort of brown skin up her legs which Di seems to have too.

Anyway after coffee with Di I popped round to our neighbour to take a pic of her son's tractor. He is only 5 and had this John Deer motorized tractor and trailer for Christmas. I took the pics and sent them to Vron to be included with the BIG tractors as little George went to the dinner after the tractor run in the village hall. They raised £500 for the hall after expenses.

It started as a lovely sunny morning here but after our late lunch it has turned really cold and a wind has come up. No chance of going outside without a coat on now as I did this morning.

Must get the Irish stew on now for dinner tonight.

Jane I am so sorry Chester is unwell. You have been saying for a while he was loosing weight. It is so sad they can't ;ive as long as we do and is the reason why we did'nt have another dog after we lost Tessy.

Hope Chris gets a little better soon, poor chap having to face patients like that but maybe better for him to take his mind off it.

Frank Report 19 Mar 2013 16:17

What a beautiful afternoon, sunshine all the way, and nice and warm, sitting here with the conseratory door open. No heating for a change. vBut I expect it will turn cooler later on.

No sign of Ros yet, I hope the car hasn't caused more trouble, and needs something else doing for the MOT. They have my number and I haven't heard from them. Or it might be they are at the Garden Centre and enjoying the afternoon sun.

There is nothing worse than when a child is not well, and you can't do anything to help. TLC Fiona, I'm sure that will be the answer. Lots of LOVE and treats always help !!

I know how Chester felt. Whenever I have to give a sample, it takes ages to get started :-| :-| :-| Then you have a job to stop :-0 :-0 :-0 Glad Chris is feeling that he's able to return to work. How does it affect his everyday activities ???

Yes, the Internet connection is playing up here as well, I'm forever pushing the button on my internet box thingy.

Hope Mel has her glass's adjusted, and that they aren't falling of her face anymore.

Sirloin steak, SALAD, and chips for dinner tonight. Ros will do the salad, I will do the other.

England play tonight, so I will be at MY T.V. While Ros finds something else to watch. It's be absolutely wonderful today. No Tele, just me and my book, and dozing in the armchair.

Cup of tea time.
See you later.

Trust William and David are O.K. Has anyone heard from Kim ???
