Hi Kim.Great to see you again :-D :-D Well done to Joel :-D.and good luck to Miranda in her new job and training :-D.I bet she is looking forward to a few days away lol
Chris has Bells Palsy Kim.Poor old sausage. It has actually developed more over these last couple of days and it is more noticeable. He had a right old job eating my Barley Risotto last night. It was too bitty .He is better of having more solid stuff which he can chew. Mandy I think a couple of patients made a comment ,just 'oh dear I see you have B Pasly'.He is working this morning but has the rest of the day free(he has a flipping cold now :-S)
I'm going to do a Beef Bourguinon ?sp but need to go and get some Beef so will get moving now.BBL

Oh forgot to mention this morning, I had a lovely dream about my Gran last night. It was as clear as daylight. We were having a cuddle. She barely came up to my shoulder, and was snuggled into me telling me how much she loved me. (She never said that when she was alive) and has been dead for 59 years. How strange that this should happen. I had a bad night again last night waking every hour or so, and laying there with the old brain box working over time. Feel ready for a sleep, but I won't !!
Poor old Chris. How long is this likely to go on for Jane ???
We are having HOCK and peas tonight.( with mashed pots) Will make a nice change from all those veggies. It was a regular Saturday lunch at Ros's M & D. That's where I got introduced to it. and have liked it since, we don't have it very often.
I ment to say I got on here WITHOUT error notices. Silly old duffer.
Washing all dried, and ready for ironing. Smells lovely when it's been out in the fresh air.
My brain must be going, as on Tuesday I said England were playing. It's NEXT WEEK.
Going to start my Runner beans off in pots this weekend. They can sit in the Conservatory till they are established, then harden off in the greenhouse. I MUST GET THE PATCH DUG OVER. I might try to do a bit TOMORROW, as it never comes lol lol
I don't suppose you youngsters remember "IN TOWN TONIGHT" on Saturday, after the football results and reports. It was an interesting programme of what (celebrities) where in London . The opening Cry was" IN TOWN TONIGHT" and then driffed into the music and interviews. Strange how you remember those things , Also "GERMANY CALLING" over the radiuo during the war. Sinister voice, that scared the pants off me :-0 :-0 :-0 Ros is watching Dickinson, I can't stand the bloke. !!!
I trust the dogs are behaving, and the lamp shade is still in postion. !!

Good to see you posting again Kim. Hope all is going well with the family. Like Frank, I have a 'nose' on FB but rarely comment.
David I hope the op goes well and you will soon be home <3.
What is Hock Frank? Thought it was a wine ;-)
Just bought a load more flower seeds so will start them off later, will look a bit like Kew Gardens with all the trays and pots dotted around the house on window sills.
Still bloomin' cold, it is officially Spring :-(

It's a filthy day here today. we now have sleety rain coming from the east. Everytime you open the back door it blows right in, wind rain and fumes from the central heating. I have to keep turning it off incase it kills me :-S :-S :-S then I get cold............................. :-|
Maureen I think Frank may be having a ham hock for dinner tonight. A hock is a joint on an animal whether it be procine, bovine, caprine or HORSE!!!!!!! Hope it is not horse ;-)

Well, I've had a pretty good afternoon! met some new people and didn't have to do anythiing more arduous than make tea (in a pot!!) how many spoonfuls, I couldn't remember, so had to guess and luckily it was ok, and wash up. It made a change and hopefully I'll be asked again. Millie is very tired today (and a bit miffed!) and making a bit of a meal of it!! but otherwise unaffected by her trauma! her teeth look really beautiful, white and gnashy! her eye looks a lot better so hopefully she will toddle on for a while. Jane, I didn't realise that Chester will be away tomorrow, that's a bit of a trial - poor old boy, you WILL be able to get your hoovering done like I did!! This weather is a bit grim, a year ago we were in the caravan, thank goodness it's not now, it would have been a nightmare!!!!

What proper Tea Leaves Liz?Well done for getting it right lol.I would be a bit flummoxed these days getting the amount right.I seem to remember one teaspoon per person and one for the pot. It's Yorkshi** Tea Bags here. I'm sure you will be asked again :-D :-D I am looking into seeing if there is a Volunteer thing to help feed patients in hospital who are unable to feed themselves.I feel so strongly about this issue. I'm glad Millie is ok now, especially that eye.I don't know how successful the nurses /vet will be tomorrow in monitoring Chesters BP.He is going to be so stressed it's bound to go up anyway, and he won't have any sedation.Just shut in a cage all day :-S He has been eating very little lately ,I resorted to cooking some Pasta and mixing in a tin of Sardines today. He blooming well wolfed that down lol.Little does he know tomorrow we will be coming home with a Renal Diet food.As for getting a Wee sample in the morning I don't think it will be as easy as the other morning. The thing to collect it in that they have given me is like a Test Tube :-S :-S I think I'll see if I have a jar or something to make it a bit easier. Are we all stocked with food? Tesc* was a bit crazy today :-S

Evening All,
So sorry to hear of your accident David, I had a feeling something was wrong as I hadn't seen you on Genes anywhere for a while. I hope they put your legs back together 100% and that you are soon back with us. It must have been quite an accident to have broken your legs and upsetting for Ellen too. Good luck with your next operation and very best wishes for a speedy recovery. <3
I have no problem getting to our thread, but I have it saved as a 'shortcut' which takes me straight there, but I do have trouble with the 'error page' appearing lately when I try to send a post. I just put it down to being a busy time on GR and everything slowing down as it does tend to in the evening.
Well I hope the snow holds off longer than you want it to Jane, just remember some of us will be out later than that you know!! I shall be going to the NEC at lunchtime and was hoping to leave my coat in the car as I know it will be boiling inside!! :-S Looks like I will be taking a light anorak and a plaggy carrier bag to put it in when I'm inside now and I hate carrying stuff when you are trying to look at things. I need a light plaggy bag with a shoulder strap don't I:-S
Frank, I meant to say I think Ros would find the dremmel thingy very useful. If you want to say pass 3 strands of beads through one bead in a pattern, it is ideal for making a hole big enough. I thought it was funny OH hadn't said anything about an England match. lol.
I have to agree with Mandy about the 'tourist's arthrititis' William......brilliant and one to remember`. :-) :-)
What have I done today? Went out for our usual carvery and it was packed and we struggled to find a table that wasn't reserved!! I think we will stick to earlier in the week from now. Service was slower because they were so busy, just on the one day when I had to be at the hairdresser's for 2.00pm as well!! :-| Still I made it in time in the end. My hairdresser was wearing a little short black peplum edged top over the tightest black tights today.......oh, to be that thin again..... :-S She did things a bit different today, some colours done with a 'weave' and others 'sliced'! I told her not to make me look like a tiger!!
Sorry you haven't been great Kim, it's always nice to hear from you when you feel up to it. :-) Well done to your children, maybe Miranda is turning a corner now she has a job and Joel is learning new skills which will help him progress. I always think there are things you can do, even people who don't have a job, and improving typing is one of them. Well done on getting his certificate!! :-D
Liz it sounds like you are going through an 'expensive' patch lately. I bet you had fun with the old dears!! lol. If you go again you will have to ask them about the 'old days' it will be an opportunity to do a bit of research !! ;-) It's good that Millie has her film star smile back and that her eye looks better. As you say, this last winter hasn't been one you would want to spend in the caravan. They are building a big house opposite the end of our close (they pulled the old house down first) and the people are doing the same as you did and are living in a big caravan parked on the front garden!! I bet with all the bad weather we've had they will be keen to move in!!

Evening all,
My you have been busy chatting again.
Maureen. The HOCK is the bit on a pigs leg, above the trotter and below the main leg. We boil it in a big saucepan for a couple to three hours, Mushy peas They are boiled for about half an hour, and mashed potato's Good drop of vinigar on the peas, and I like brown sauce with mine. We don't have it often, but makes a nice change.
That's right Jane one teaspoon per person and one for the pot. That has stayed with me all my life. I remember going into a tea Merchants in the 50s, this person was sealing tea into a bag. When I asked what he was doing, he said trying out an idea od TEABAGS. I don't know when they actually came in to being, but I think it was around that time.
We(Ros) likes Twinnin## breakfast tea, and I like mine nice and strong, so use hers with mine, to strengthen mine up a little..
Mel, I see from the forcast that you have had a rough bit of weather. It looks like we will get it tonight/tomorrow and Saturday. between 2" and 4" in places. The garden will certainly have to wait.
Glad you enjoyed your time today Liz. It helps to get out and meet people. Next they will have you singing and dancing lol lol
What a palarvor I had yesterday and today. While we were out yesterday a packet was delivered by the postman, as we were out he left a card to say we could collect it from the sorting office, about 5 miles away.. Or I could arrange a redelivery on the web site. I tried yesterday, but they kept showing I has missed something out. I tried this form a dozen times. Finally a put a note in the letterbox for the postman to KNOCK. While waiting I tried on the web again, and blow me, if it didn't go through. and it will be redelivered Saturday, when I know I will be home. Modern technology. you can stick it, where the SUN don't shine.

Frank. If we have something being delivered that doesn't need signing for we give instructions for any package to be left in the woodshed or summerhouse. That way it saves a trip to collect :-D Ann I do hope you go well prepared tomorrow.Snow shovel,Thermos, food, charged up phone, blankets etc.. (only kidding).I'm sure it will be ok for you.It think it is later that you would need to worry. It looks like some folk are going to be hit badly with the snow :-( Chris has managed the meal, but it took him about 30minutes longer than me tonight :-S,and a big bit of kitchen paper to dab his mouth all the time. :-(
