Afternoon All,

OH says thanks for your birthday wishes for him. He loved his little extra pressies this morning as they were so unexpected. I am looking for somewhere for a lunchtime meal tomorrow, might be The Windmill which has just been taken over and refurbished. He says he has so much work to catch up on he doesn't want to go far!! :-0

Happy birthday to Hannah too. It sounds like she is enjoying her trip to Paris with her beau.;-) The Pompeii exhibition sounds interesting.

We took MIL her gifts this morning, a plant, choccies and a jigsaw and she gave OH his card. He had asked for money this year as it is easier for them and he wants a spare battery for his laptop. There had been more snow their way, but it has stopped snowing here and is freezing cold. We are going in my car tomorrow......freezing on OH's today. They are having trouble getting the part now and want it in on Tuesday to see exactly what's wrong. If it can be mended I think they will fix it.

Fancy having to leave your goats behind when you moved Mel. I'm glad you knew what that first milk was called, (I was nearly there) as whenever I mention it to anyone they look at me as if I'm making it up!! lol. What's the 'egg' situation today?

Evening all,

Had a nice afternoon at Harveys. Dinner was Gammon and Beef with all the veg you can imagine. He did so well, everything was perfect in every way. Jan sent down a big apple pie, with a pot of fresh cream, and Harvey made Custard. A nice couple of bottles of RED went down well with dinner.

We watched the last part of England V Italy. then Lewis had to have his Chelsea on against Man Utd. I think he was sattified with a draw at the end of the match. We got home about 7.00 pm in time for Ros to watch DOI, then that Mr. Selfridge. Thank goodness that ends tonight. I suppose it will be replaced by something else that will annoy me !! :-) :-) :-)

Hope you all had a good day today.

Thew weather stayed damp and with slight snow showers, but by the time we came home it was just so BL###y cold. It was so nice to get into a warm house.

I am now inmy shorts, relaxing on the puter, while Ros watches T.V.

I am feeling very tired tonight, so it won't be a late night, and hope I get a good night sleep.

Evening everyone

Been a cold snowy day here, and still snowing now,
Got some bubble bath and,2 lovely cards and sweets, for mothers day,

Family left sooner tonight as the snow was lying and was falling quite heavily
so I have managed to watch Call the midwife, in peace.

How many of you girls were taught to certsy (sp)???

still watching Shetland so I'm off again.

I was shown how to curtsey at school Mel. There was quite a bit of curtseying in the Scottish Country dancing lessons! ;-) lol. (Shirl Can you remember the Eightsome Reel and the Eight Men of Moidart.........those are two we did that spring to mind?)

That was a grand meal you had Frank, I love apple pie with custard. We polished off OH's little Sma*tie Cake cake at teatime.....very rich and nice it was too but like Maureen I will be cutting back after tomorrow's outing. OH remarked that the alcohol content of the bottle of beer I got him was over 8%......I told him it was a good job it was a small bottle then!!

It's a shame Call the Midwife has ended now, we really enjoyed it.

Looks like more snow here tomorrow.......Brrrr, will be wrapping up warm to go out.

I hope David is ok, seems a while since we heard from him.

Off to bed now to watch DOI.........nightie night.

Oh told me this morning that he was going to pick me a bunch of daffs out the orchard but he did'nt as it was so cold.

I went up the orchard after corning the chickens and picked myself a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Curtsey thats how you spell it. I just could,nt think how to at the time of posting.

We had country dancing in school. I can remember when I was in senior school learning to dance the polker and whizzing round the school hall with my best friend Lynda who sadly passed away a few years ago.

The Gay Gordons comes to mind too and I can just hear the tune to it in my head. That should be one for you and Gordon Ann...he he he :-D

I don't know why I thought of it Jane. It just popped into my head.

I also found myself singing while washing up Nymphs and sheppherd !!

Had a lovely day yesterday with family,

It has been snowing all night here and we have a winter wonderland this morning
changed my Photo. for a while it's not great but i't the latest pic of me and Matteo, I still look washed out, desperate to get my head to normal so I can get to the hairdresses

We've had more snow over night too Fiona , had quite a covering and we're still having blizzard like showers this morning then it stops and we have lovely blue sky !! very windy too,i went out and put some fruit bread out for the birds and snow from the shed blew all in my face !!

I really must go shopping some time today as we're getting short of milk , must have that for the drinks and hubby's flask for work !!
Perhaps i will go later see how the snow blows LOL

I use to like the country dancing at school, it was all right until you got with a partner who didn't know what they were doing or one who thought it funny to fling you round at brake neck speed :-S :-D
Then you'd both get told off for messing about !!

Morning All and Evening Kim,

We had a little snow in the night but nothing to speak of really. The wind on the other hand would cut your hands off given the chance. Everything is frozen solid outside. I could'nt even lift the flap on the chicken house and had to open the door to let them out and then have a few kicks upwards on the pop hole to get it open. Then there was the water problem. I had'nt emptied either of the metal drinkers so had to lug one round to the back door and boil the kettle to defrost it before refilling with cold water round at the chicken house. Of course they were all wanting a drink at once so there was me surrounded by 14 chickens pecking at my boots, bucket and drinker. Then I had to get the lid off to fill it from the bucket. Once I had a drop in it 14 heads were crammed around the water coming through. It must have been a picture to see but I was so cold and then I had to make sure I did'nt get any of their cones stuck putting the lid on the drinker.

Returned back at the house only to find the Robin waiting for worms and a drink. The bird bath was the next exercise to defrost and all this before my first cupps of the day which is sitting next to me on the desk half drunk (not me) and cold again................................ :-|

All this time oh was up the church showing Jim how to work the new boiler as we have a funeral up there on Thuursday.

No snow so far but my life the WIND!!!!!!!!!!!!.I daren't open the front door.I did consider putting Chester in his coat and going out but then thought how stupid.So we just had a potter around the garden and a play on the floor ,then a fight with the hoover and he has now crashed out in the middle of the lounge :-D.So i am just having a coffee and am then going to use my carpet cleaner to do Chris's study.He has lifted everything up off the floor that is possible.I'm going to stay well away from all the wires to do with his computers etc.I can just imagine to trouble I would be in lolol
The wind is absolutely HOWLING down the chimney :-S :-S

Mel I loved the Country Dancing at school,but like you say Mandy how annoying was it to get someone who either messed about or didn't know what to do :-S

The girls make a Curtsy and the boys take a bow :-D

Well I now know how Fiona and Mandy are but where is everyone else????????

Cor right about the wind !! it's just blown a piece of trellis down from the top of the fence :-S another job for hubby, mind you i did tell him i thought the nails were loose in it :-S

Can you remember getting your first fountain Pen ? and having to fill it up with ink from the bottle and making great blobs of ink on the page when you first used it , and pressing to hard on the nib and spreading the nib !! LOL

Then using blotting paper to soak it up , it was much better when the carriage pens came in with the carriages already filled ,they didn't make so much mess !!

We also put blobs on ink on a piece of paper folded it in halve and tried to spread the ink out to make a pretty pattern on the paper .
