Hope his car gets through the MOT ok Mel. We used to buy ash trees years ago to make laminated shafts for the horsedrawn carriages. It was nice and flexible when cut into thinnish planks.
I nipped out to the garden centre and have got a pot of those deep purple dwarf iris to plant. We had a blizzard too for a few minutes while I was out, big flakes but it was soon over and didn't settle.I have a basketful of washing waiting too.
Since I got back I have managed to put Office on OH's laptop so as soon as he catches up on more of his notes we'll try the new router and see if everything works, fingers crossed.
I notice on the news they have found the grave of a mediaeval knight in Edinburgh now. Since Richard was found here they have been running painting Richard 111 competitions for the children and there have been no end of visitors to the exhibition and battlefield site. I think they are having to change the design of the suggested tomb though.

Ann What did you do to your heel? I must have missed that.I find anything heel related can be really painful.
I have just been on the phone changing Car Insurance. Now going with Av*va.It will be £300 cheaper. We always need to keep Hannah and James on which bumps it up :-S
Funny weather this afternoon. One minute lovely sun ,and then snow, speaking of which I have just looked out the window and it is coming down again.
Tomorrow it's Specs and Haircut in the afternoon :-D :-D
Still no David. It's getting a bit worrying now :-S :-S.I haven't seen him on any of the other threads either.

Jane, I was just putting the Roasts and Parsnips in the oven, and thought how lovely and clean it is. !!! I aIm available for oven cleaning, but BOY will it cost you :-D :-D I don't come cheap.
The sky looks so weird at the moment. The sun is on it's way down and the sky is full of cloud. It's just poking through. I couldn't resist I have taken a photo. Will send it on later.
Are we all specked up now. ??? Do you gets yours today Jane ??
We have noticed that two of the double glazed windows have got damp in them. Hope when it gets warmer it will dissapear, as I have no intention of replacing them.
We have had two Ind### phone calls today. We don't know what they wanted as we just say "GO AWAY" and put the phone down. I would love to know who is selling them our number.
Nice piece of Lamb tonight. with roasts, brussels, carrots, runners and peas. I can almost taste in now. It smells devine !! Better go and see that it's alright.

Name your price Frank :-DI'll provide the Marigolds and all the tea/coffee biscuits lol then sit back and watch :-D :-D Wow that is some sky you had!
I have had 2 calls today from 'these people".One was something to do with a Childrens Charity.....Yeah right .( I don't think so somehow)The same accent as usual with an awful lot of noise in the background.I can't remember what the other one was now.I think a clue sometimes is when you do 1471 and it says we do not have the callers number. That usually means overseas.
I know tonight I will be getting a call from my 'odd friend' in Plymouth. Her 90 year old Mum had a fall on Monday and has a double fracture of the Pelvis :-S.I will have to brace myself for a very long and boring call.I know that sounds very rude .I don't mean to be ,but that is the way it is with her unfortunately.
We had a letter today telling us of proposed planning permission for an Industrial estate on the other side of the A14 (Burton Latimer).I think it said 90 acres. I am not at all happy about that.Besides traffic I think we will be bothered with light pollution at night :-| :-|......Then the business of the 55,000 housing ,schools, etc at the front of us.........I don't think I will be happy staying here :-( On that happy note ,I will go and do something with dinner :-D :-D

Hi There
Daughter no 2 & boyfriend just gone home after dinner, and I am ready to watch WDYTYA USA.
Been a busy day had coffee with friends then went up to daughter no 1 for lunch and we took Sofia to the doctors for jabs, she was great and was very brave, never cried at all poor little mite was jabbed in both arms, but was pleased when she got a picture to colour and a box of crayons from the health visitor which had stickers on saying I have been a brave girl today, we then went for coffee and she got an ice cream, and I bought her a Mr Tumble magazine. then they came back to my house and I spent an hour playing with her jigsaws and telling stories , I was shattered when they left, had to have a lie down before the next lot came for dinner.
off to watch the TV :-D :-D

It seems to be happening everywhere you go Jane. Every village round here seems to have some sort of development happening. The variety and character the villages had is all going. It isn't so bad when they convert some of the old buildings, but often it is cheaper for them to be knocked down. Work has stopped on the field near us, but already we have seen graffitti on the boarded fence that's been put up and there hasn't been problems with that here before.
I think I jarred my heel overbalancing on my step stool a week ago. The old knees don't bend very well so I went down on my heel with a right judder!! Today it's finally shown a lot of improvement. I don't know, you just get one bit of your body right and another goes!! lol :-D
I think I would have needed a lie down too Fiona! Little Sofia was good with her injections, one would be bad enough at that age! Maybe thinking about the treats she was going to get afterwards helped. :-)
I decided to cancel my hair appointment for tomorrow as I don't think I've grown enough to cut!! My hair grows slowly anyway so I've booked for next week now. I'm sure she' cuts the same off each time, so if I go too soon it ends up shorter than ever!!! lol.
Maybe David's got computer troubles. :-S

Ann, Daughter no1 didn't tell Sofia where we were going, so she had no idea what was going to happen, so getting the magazine and going for an ice cream was a nice surprise. she loves going into coffee shops /restaurants and is always really good at sitting still and not running around.
OH due home in about 1/2 hour , I am trying hard to wait up for him but I am very tired and don't think I will make it.
Better go now before I fall asleep at the computer,
night night :-D

Morning everyone, Evening Kim,
Nice and sunny here this morning , well what a todo last night !!
Just finished cooking the tea which was a bit of luck when the electric went off !! We saw a neighbour who said they had rang and it would be on about 8-15 ,that time came and went so hubby rang son on his mobile because no house phone working , and asked him to look on e-on site to see if it said any thing about when it would be back on ,son then rang back and said he had e-on on the phone and that it hadn't even been reported !! they wanted to know what had happened ,any way with in 10 minutes out came a big van three men got out torches flashing looked like they were trying to find the sub station or box thingy which is in one of the gardens , backwards and forwards to the van ,then another big van came this one towing a digger !! by now we're thinking this is not looking good if they have to dig !! Then a generator started up ,the digger started up and it had a flashing light on the top !! We decided to go to bed by this time it was after ten , but you try sleeping with all the the noise and flashing lights , then another van turned up !! The men were looking in gardens so they were trying to find some thing !! I looked out again at 11-30 and they were still there ,dropped off and woke at 1-00 and they were still there and the electric came on at quarter past one !!
So Thank You to the men who were out in the freezing cold and the snow showers that were falling so that i could flick a switch this morning and have heat and a nice hot cup of tea. :-) Who was it said any thing exciting happening ??
Off to pick DIL up and do some shopping now . BBL

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Bright sunshine this morning but there has been a frost.
We should get oh's car back today, I hope.
I really need to give mine a good wash but he won't let me when we are getting all this frost as he said I will make a skating rink out there.

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Morning Mel,
Feel a little rough this morning :-( Have the gritty throat and cough that OH had a the beginning of the week, thankfully not got anything planned today, Though OH did ordered his concrete shed to come today but so far no shed or men have arrived yet,
Daughter no1 asked if I could buy a little pair of trainers for Matteo for Easter, of course he is too little for a Easter egg and Sofia has soft toys, chicken & rabbits already, so I ordered a tiny pair of navy and white canvas shoes :-D they are size 3-6 months so tiny and cute they arrived in the van this morning.

Morning/Evening All Crumbs Mandy what a night you had!I wonder if you can find out what the problem was.I expect those men will all be tucked up in their beds now. They must have been freezing. A very heavy frost here this morning.Everything looked very pretty. The sun is shining and it's almost a total blue sky. It's make the most of it today as it looks as it's all downhill for the weekend :-S
Fingers crossed for OH's car Mel. Looks like rain is on the way so your car can have a good wash then lol.
I must take Chester out for a wander now.He is giving me that stare :-D

Morning All,
No frost here but I was zzzzing earlier so there might have been some then. Lovely sun here now but rain later I think.
What a night Mandy! We forget these chaps have to go out in all weathers whenever needed don't we. At least they fixed it though so everything is back to normal today.
I love little baby's shoes Fiona and can never resist looking at them while out shopping. Little Matteo will look lovely in his trainers, although he'll probably be trying to get them off! Sofia sounds like she is growing up to be a sensible girl.
:-)
Better get going now......OH is wanting to come here and I need to take a top back to the shops!! BBL......
