Mel , I still have daughter no 2 tiny christening shoes and her bonnet, her dress was borrowed from a friend so I had to give that back, Daughter no 1 was 7 months when she was baptised so I put her in a coat and dress set.
Ann not so sure about Sofia growing up a sensible girl, she's ok with me but as children are with their parents plays up something terrible with her mum ,when we are out shopping and it's time to go back into the car, she runs about and will not climb into her side of the car, daughter struggling to get Matteo into his chair and Sofia won't get in and then when daughter says" Sofia I'm going to get angry , she giggles and shouts, and then there tears when daughter grabs her and puts her on her booster seat and puts on the seat belt on, 3 mins after all back to normal. mum is worn out. WE HAVE ALL BEEN THROUGH IT BEFORE :-)
OH Just got an e-mail from Shed company, sorry you were not notified earlier but a problem came up which was out of our control, your shed will be delivered tomorrow instead. OH says the company is in Bradford so perhaps they have been delayed a day because of bad weather

Morning all/Evening Kim,
I won't stop as I have promised myself a hobble round the village. Will try to get a bit of movement in this knee. I doubt I will get as far as the canal, but taking camera in case I do. Will catch up later.

I'm back, Didn'y go far just round the block. Knee playing up and the wind is very cold.
When I got back, I got my book and sat outside in the sun. SODS law it's clouded over now, and got colder, so I have come in doors.
Just had another recorded phone call about something of other. I swore at the phone, and shut it off !!! Not the phones fault : :-D :-D
Mel, you just reminded me. Our car needs it's MOT before the end of the month, I think that might need a couple of tyres. MOE EXPENCE
Jane I get the gist of where youy are talking about, Why can't they just build where Industry is already ?? That way, nobody gets bothered with it. There is quite a big one at Finedon/Wellingborough. and up by the hospital in Kettering. A few more on those sites won't be noticed !!! As for all those house down Cranford Road, that will spoil the countryside completly. Why not extent the ones they already have up Warkton lane. (I remember that being built) That was Walkton Farm, with an old Farm house, and wide open fields.
Ros is trying to tidy up some of the pots on the patio, but the earth is frozen solid, so I don't think she will be out there long.
Some good Emails on the way.
"HAVE A GOOD DAY" as the yanks would say !!!

Mel, we still have grandsons first little pair of 'Baby Dear' shoes - and he's 32 now! We also have the fork and spoon set we got him which has a clowetched into the handles. A also think that the christening robe that 4 of them were christened in is still with one or the other of us. We also have the candles that were lit during their christening ceremony.

Afternoon :-D I'm sat here nodding my head up and down with my new specs on .Moving the lid of the laptop back and forth trying to get the print right.I think it might be a problem as everything else seems okI will look out the stand for the laptop and see if raising it higher makes it better. Hair all done nicely. He used straighteners on it today.I don't think I need to buy any.He was just showing what they could do.
Frank those fields at the back of Warkton Lane are going to be the first stage of the New Build, then it will be this end.Poor old Fitz will be surrounded :-S :-S.I don't know when things will begin or how long it will all take. But there is one sure thing...It's going to be horrible.
Oh babies little shoes :-D :-D.Sadly I didn't keep any of Hannah or James's first shoes .But I do remember dressing my Big Ted in a pair of little pink teeny weeny ones with laces that i think must have been my Sisters.I think actually the laces were pink ribbon :-D. I could hardly keep up with the rate that James's feet grew. For some time I was having to buy a new pair every couple of months. He finally stopped at an Adult size 12 !!! Going to have a break from here now as I feel a bit crossed eyed :-S.A bit more head waggling needs to be done :-D

I meant to say we had a new duvet delivered today. It's Goose feather and Down.It doesn't half rustle. It will sound like I'm sleeping under a bag of crisps :-S Anyone else have one? and will it get less noisy once it's broken in??
I had that very long phone call last night from the friend in Plymouth(almost 2 hours !!) I do feel so sorry for her as she feels so alone(no siblings or friends). Her OH had a stroke some years ago and is not good at coping with stress and upset (I think he is in his early 50's).I can't see her Mother going home again .She will probably go to rehab and then most likely to a care home.Carole has taken her Mothers cat to live with her .She already has 5 cats and several hens (one of which is still living in the bungalow) :-0.I would love to be a fly on the wall there.I think it is going to be a very stressful time for her in the coming weeks and I will have to be ready for more calls.
Steak,Chips.Mushrooms,Tomatoes,Asparagus and Baby Corn tonight.Am I looking forward to it..........too right I am :-D :-D

You and me alike Jane.
I cleaned both the windows in the bedroom today and washed all the skirting boards but I put my old glasses on to do it. I have the new ones on now and the minuet I start reading the postings my right eye starts to water and everything looks blurred. I just don't think that lens is right.

It's new pillows we need ,i carn't seem to find some nice firm ones ,i hate those pillows that have no body to them they just seem to go so flat !! and they are always in those plastic wrappers so you carn't feel them to see how firm they are .
I have washed my duvet in my washer ,bit of a job but i just got it in as it was a thin one ,came out lovely and clean and freshened it up a treat .

I bet some of you will be settled dowm in bed by now. Early birds etc. !!!
We only have a light throw all year round, amd I am still hot, and spend a lot of time on top of the covers. I'm sitting here now in a pair of shorts bare chested. Hot blooded or what. If I lived on my own I could save a bomb on heating. !!!
Going to watch a bit of Police p[rogrammes now, and let ros play cards.
See you in the morning.

I had a goose feather and down duvet many years ago Jane, but mine was quite thick!! It was very warm and light and nestled all around you nicely filling any gaps, but after a while the one I had tended to 'clump' in places. I'm afraid luxury is wasted on me, I buy the cheap 4.5 tog summer ones from I*ea now.(even the kingsize is under a tenner) That's all the heat I can stand these days even in winter and we never ever have heating on at night. It's so thin I can just get it in the washer same as you Mandy. After a couple of years I give it to the dogs' home and get another. Where we stay in Cornwall has a feather one and I have to sleep with an arm and leg out of the bed there!! lol
Mandy I agree with you about pillows being squashed into those bags and not being able to feel them. I got some new ones in the sales this year and they are 'sinking' already.
Well Sofia sounds like most of us were when little. I remember my mum asking my gran whether I had been good when I used to stay with her and gran always said I'd been as good as gold. I remember mum saying 'are you sure?'......I don't think she thought it possible!! LOL. OH said he screamed blue murder at injections when he was little and whenever he went to the doctor,s after, whatever it was for, the first thing he would say when he saw the doctor was that he didn't want an injection!!!
We went to see the film Hitchcock with Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren at Warwick this afternoon. They are both very good and seem to be able to play all kinds of characters.
Jane!!! I read an article about the Pompeii exhibition today. My word it said it is very rude, explicit and risque!!!! :-0 :-0 You never mentioned that!! ;-) ;-) I wish it was on round here now. lol.

Thanks for your PM Frank, I have replied. Glad you managed a turn around the block but didn't overdo it.
It looks like poor old Richard 111 isn't going to get the £30,000 decorative tomb his heritage society has paid for. The Cathedral are now saying his memorial should just be a slab. Most people that have been asked say he should have a tomb.
Jane, is it the potential huge development over the road from you that would surround Fitz? That was to be much bigger than the one you've had the letter about wasn't it? This week we saw the men with the tripod things measuring along the lane where the massive development will be here. I don't know when they will be starting it. :-S
OH is at the dentist first thing tomorrow. He's been getting toothache quite often lately but been hanging on till his next appointment. Typical, since he booked himself in for tomorrow it hasn't even twinged.

I'm afraid I wouldn't touch a Goose feather duvet or anything else that's filled with Goose feathers or down unless I was absolutely certain that the bird had been dead before being plucked! A lot of them are alive when this happens (see Google) and the cruelty doesn't bear thinking about. We bought one way back in the mists of time and recently I threw it away!!!! Nothing to report from here, a round of Doctor/Dentist and Optician appointments, other than that life toddles on.

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Good job I don't have to speak to anyone (using my voice I mean) Cos I hardly have one. was so tired and shivery last night I was in bed for about 7.30 and fell asleep quite quick, I ached all over too, Got up this morning cos the men were coming with the shed, they have just left, only took them about 2 hours and they hardly made a sound, lovely, :-D :-D looks good , concrete shed with a wooden door , Looks like a garage and is rough castered? like the extension so fits in well. OH just has to cement round the base to the floor and it is done.
I remember when I was little my mum went into hospital to have her kidney out, she was in for quite a while, so dad and I went to stay at my Nana's house and I slept in the back bedroom on a feather mattress, the bed was so high I had to get on a chair to climb into it, and that was when we realised I was allergic to feathers, so after that mum threw all the feather pillows out and bought the foam ones, I used to take my foam pillow with me when we went to visit relatives or on holiday (in UK) cos I couldn't be parted from my pillow, :-)
