Thank you William thats the first time I have been given wishes on Mothers Day for years and years.
Ann I think you will find that the first milk for a cow is called Beastings. It is the colostrum which gives the calf it's first antibiotics in life.
When I had my two goats back in the 80's they were taken from their mother straight away. I took them both to the vets and they said I would'nt rear them as they had'nt had any of the mothers colostrum. I did rear them and had them for a few years till I moved down here to Devon when mum would'nt let me bring them down.

Yes Jane trying to snow here also. I haven't put my nose outside yet., but looks like it will be bitten off. :-D :-D :-D
No football for Lewis today as it's Mothers day. Conrad says he will pick us up when he's ready. Spoken to Harvey, he says Lara and Andy are also coming with the baby, so it's going to be a house full. 10 including baby. How he will seat us all I don't know, perhaps two sittings, or some on another table. !!
All showered and shaved (new blade) cut myself in three places. Good job I have one of those sticks, that stops the bleeding( I was always a little bleed##) But boy what a shave I have had (as smooth as a babies bottom)
Ros is getting herself ready now, so we will sit and have a coffee and wait for Conrad.
Nice pressie for you then Jane, how thoughtful knowing you would like to go, and FLASH BANG you have the tickets. !!
Hope all you Mums have a good days, are you all with family ??? I know Mel won't be, as like me, she doesen't see her children. I will be thinking of you Aunyie Mel . <3 <3 <3
Snow flakes are getting larger, but no sign of settling yet. I see in the paper that some places are expecting minus 14 degrees, FLOODS and MORE SNOW. Who said springs around the corner.
Years ago when we had the P.O. Easter was a good time for a break. Closed good Friday and Easter Monday. So there were eight of us, who would set of to a place called Maidencoombe just outside Torquay. An Ex Sub Postmaster owned a B & B and I use to book 4 rooms at Easter. After the first year it was so cold, we all took Electric Blankets. Not that the B & B was cold It was the blimming weather. When you had been out for a few hours you were glad to come back and climb into bed for a warm !!!!, before going out in the evening for a meal and a beer. We would then return and sit in the bar, drinking with the owners till the early hours. Great weekend breaks.
Another place I loved to go was the Norfolk Broards, after beening in Old Catton, Norwich for most of my National Service and beeing only a few miles from the Broards and all that wonderful fishing, I was hooked on the place. Easter 1963, I took my EX there for the weekend. The hotel was THE BURE COURT (Mandy do you know it ) right on the river Bure. They had a boat that I was able to use each day to find different places to eat and FISH. I believe it got burnt down sometime later. It was a beautiful thatched place, and holds many memories. My daughter was conceived there. !!! Not to much info I hope ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Lovely memories Frank and thanks for thinking about me. <3 <3
Have washed my hair and am now going to get our BIG breakfast.
What smashing pressies Jane. I would love to see that exhibition, your a lucky girl. Think I would like to see Hotel Marigold too. From what I can remember it has a lot of stars in it. Saw a bit on the telly when it came out.
Well I hope Frank and Ros don't get stuck out again if there is snow forcast.
Oh told me I shan't be going shopping or to get my new glasses tomorrow if the weather is bad here.

I just lost a post as I was typing :-S why does that happen?????? it's so annoying.
As I was saying it has stopped snowing and raining now but the wind is still horrible. (oh I lie) there is very fine drizzle .
Happy Birthday Ann's Hubby.I hope Ann is spoiling him.I'm sure she is :-D :-D Hannah birthday too. They are getting the Hop on and off boat and seeing parts of Paris that way today.
Roast Beef done ,so now it is a matter of waiting for everything else.I reckon it will be about 2pm when we eat.James will be heading out straight after to watch the Footie at one of his pals place. I don't think the garden shop was doing a lot of business this morning.I felt quite sorry for them as they had some made up baskets.I can see them still being there at the end of the day. I got a couple of big bags of kindling and the fire is now crackling away nicely :-D
Must go and turn the potatoes

That was a lovely sentiment William, thank you.
Very interesting stories from Dermot and Frank, they make really good reading. Have never been to Ireland, although going back in my family history my g.grandmother was from N.Ireland and grandad was born there. Don't think I would have made a very good farmer's wife, never could get up very early.
How long is that exhibition on for Jane, sounds like the kind of thing one of my daughters might be interested in. I have Hotel Marigold DVD, it's one of those films you can see again and again. You're right Mel some very big names Judi Dench and Maggie Smith to name just two.
Am going to daughters for dinner this evening and son and other daughter taking me out for a meal tomorrow after that I'd better put the brakes on all this eating or I shall have to buy a new wardrobe ;-)
Enjoy your day everyone.

Maureen it is on until September. But you need to have tickets.I don't think it opens until the end of March.I think my tickets are for 25th April.Chris has just booked our train tickets :-D
Mel I bet you were very upset you couldn't take your goats with you when you moved to Devon.Your gardens would have been a perfect place for them.My Sister always wanted to have a goat or 2,but that won't happen now. She's got enough dogs lol

No Frank, carn't say i do know of that hotel, we like to go and sit by the water at Wroxham, there's a nice little tea shop by the there where you can sit and watch the boats go under the bridge , if they don't line them selves up to the middle they carn't get through , the times we've heard the crunch of the boat hitting the bridge :-S :-D
Yes thank you Mel ,much better today ,it was just a 24 hour bug thank goodness .
Happy Birthday to Hannah and Ann;s OH ,hope they both enjoy their day.
Yes football later , hubby wants to see that match ,i think its on at four o'clock .
