Just waiting for daughter to arrive with Harry and Chloe, Chloe is a bit of a grumpy nickers today, she has a cold and had her injections yesterday so be good for daughter not to be stuck indoors all day with them.
The song that started going through my head was the Beverley Sisters song Sisters. Watch out Lille. :-D
I saw that programme on the large families, it annoyed me a bit when they kept complaining how expensive it was ........... why have so many bl**dy kids then ...... it's pure selfishness, and that guy seemed too dopey to have a PhD.
My social calendar is filling up a little bit, daughter's in laws have got a 70th birthday party next month the same day as son's partner's hen do. Have been invited to both. Guess which one I'm going to!!!!

LOL Mandy thank goodness I never added an extra 5 years to your OH .I was sure it was his 60th :-S
Hi Frank.How's you doing? <3
The film was excellent .I think it came out last year.Fitz said he had seen it once before. Then we went to Prezz* I was freezing in the cinema and had to wrap my coat around me.Mind you I didn't have a very warm top on as I hate getting too hot in there. I have lit the fire now and am warming up nicely.I think a nice cup of tea will go down a treat too,so that's what I shall do....pop the kettle on

Brrrr it's cold just been out to the dustbin with some rubbish , and was glad to get back in there's a really damp feeling in the air.
Daughter no2 & Kiah popped round to say hello, daughter had been to the park with Kiah for a walk as boyfriend has started taking a photography class on a wed afternoon, he finishes about half past 4, she was saying while she was in the park there was a queer man following her, she pretended to play with Kiah and ran all the way to the gate but she turned left and the man turned right OMG she said she just felt scared, I told her not to go alone to the park next time,I don't think Kiah would be a very good guard dog, she is nervous of strangers.

If this offends anyone on this thread, I'll gladly delete it.
I'd like to say how lucky I am or was, it would seem, not to have been 'molested' as a youngster throughout the1950s/60s Ireland in the manner we constantly read about in the world-wide media these days.
That's it.

Back from Market and brought in fish and chips which we have now eaten.
I got on really well this morning, did some washing and chanced putting it out as I saw the patio was drying in the wind. Not cold today and we have'nt had the heating on all day. It is still not on. Cleared all outside the back door in the porch bit which seems to collect a lot of things that should'nt be there. There were also lots of leaves blown in so all swept out now and the mats all hoovered. Hoovered all through and cleaned out the hoover thanks to Mandy who did hers the other day.
Jane I went to Holsworthy market. Bideford is on a Tuesday and Saturday. Don't forget I used to do that market when I had the plant nursery.
Ann Bald Eagle was a hen bantam not a he. I also tried to send Fiona's pics on to you this morning but got a failure notice......sorry.
Just caught Hogwart out in his cage. I had cleaned him out this morning but not put his food so I went in to do that and he was in the corner of his run bit sulking.

I forgot to tell you . There was a new shop open in Holsworthy just before Christmas. Just a bitser shop, toys candles few tools and paper, you knoow the things, well he was a nice youngsih chap and when I passed his shop there were all flowers against the door. I asked Lars on one of the stalls and he told me that Nick had had a heart attach on Saturday and died in the shop!! He was only 46!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His girlfriend had been to pick up the mail today and Lars said she was still crying. It can be a very wicked world sometimes, can't it.

Here you are Jane - worts & all!
The darkest demons of my childhood days still centre on the force feeding of cod liver oil on a spoon before being sent out into the wide world with a taste of poison on my tongue.
Of course, with the benefit of hindsight & keeping in mind the awful goings-on being reported in the media at the moment, I should be grateful that the cod liver oil was the greatest & only injustice done to me during my formative years.
The arrival of cod liver oil capsules was up there with the unveiling of the iPad in terms of an event that changed people’s lives for the better. Suddenly, if I swallowed fast enough and rinsed with cold water, I could enjoy an energy boost without the awful aftertaste.
Raw eggs also had their day, beaten to a pulp with a fork in a glass of milk and downed in one because, while this was good for my insides, I would never accidentally sip it in the mistaken belief it was a can of Coke. Edwina Currie's mention of salmonella in 1988 put an end all things to do with raw eggs. And not one laying chicken ever complained or demanded liable compensation. Extraordinary!
Porridge was the other staple part of the Irish breakfast, at a time when cereals stretched no further than Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies. Weetabix, when it arrived, was cutting edge stuff – and as for those sugary things smothered with honey or chocolate, they weren’t even figments of someone’s imagination. Back then, there wasn't a need for a separate shelf in the cupboard for cereals.
The one common denominator, then and now, was that we were always told breakfast was the most important meal of the day – and yet again we have new research which underlines claims that a good breakfast could hold the key to healthiness - if you believe everything in the newspapers & medical journals.
Not that many appear to be heeding this advice because apparently up to two-thirds of us skip the first meal of the day, when it fact we should be eating like kings and taking it easier later on.
Better news still is that chocolate cake is recommended by researchers from Tel Aviv University who found that a 600-calorie breakfast with proteins and carbohydrates, including a sweet treat, controlled cravings for sugary things for the rest of the day and kick started the body's metabolism.
So that’s the diet I’m going on. I’m clinging to the claim that a big fry, followed by chocolate cake, will not alone ensure I’m not hungry for the rest of the morning at least, but that I will lose weight in the process.
Bring it on!

My Poison was Virol and Mil Par :-S :-S :-S.Being a constipated child I had the dreaded Mil Par shoved down my throat on a big tablespoon. It still makes me cringe just to think of it. I can remember Rice Krispi** as my favourite cereal, and hated Porridge.Rosehip Syrup was a delight but was a treat. I don't recall having Cod Liver oil or capsules but did like those Haliborange tablets.Mum dished them out every winter at breakfast time.
I like the sound of that diet :-D :-D :-D I'll join you on that one Dermot :-)
But now I'm off to my bed as for some reason I feel a bit iffy and on my knees. I am leaving OH in charge of the fire as he has just chucked the old Christmas Nuts on and the flames are shooting up the chimney and it has put he wind up me.I don't need a Chimney fire tonight :-|

Mel It was Tuesdays my Aunty Joyce went to Bideford market.I don't she missed a week (unless she was on holiday) for probably the best part of60/70 years !!! My Uncle Jan had a heart attack and also died in the shop he worked in ,in Bideford High St.I think he would have been in his 40's too just like the poor man in your shop in Holsworthy.
Night Night everyone x

Cold here too now, but my cheeks feel hot and my eyes are achey so I think an early night for me.
Mistress Shirl........not peeking at your cards already!! :-0 Yes that did seem a bit risky to put the vase there! I loved Frank's email of the monkey pulling the tiger cubs ears......he was really asking for trouble!! lol.
Fiona, I think you can get some strange sorts hanging around in parks at times! Your daughter was very sensible even though having the dog would still be a deterrant......they wouldn't know she's a softy.

<3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SHIRL <3 <3
Hope the eye injection went alright. Have a great day and hope you are spoilt by the monsters and your family.
Nice sunny days after a weekend of torrential rain and gusting winds.
Had the sleep study all went smoothly, apart from the fact that I had an allergic reaction to the tape they used to attach the sensors with. I ended up with burning welts all over. I hope it produces some answers.
Hello Dermot. I always hated the tablespoon of castor oil with sugar and Laxett*s as I used to get constipated as a little one. Probably didn't drink enough water.
I hope everyone is well. Take care. 4.18 pm ADST

Boo hoo hoo. I've just done a long post and lost the lot, including birthday greetings for Shirley and a welcome to Dermot :-0
I pressed submit without doing a copy to paste and the next page came up with NO SERVICE. Naughty Genes. I'd have to do it all again later.
