I don't like duck either. Too fatty for me. I don't think that duck woud be much good if you have had it in the freezer a year Jane.

Thankyou for your lovely post :-D. <3

Jane IF you ever should cook Duck or Goose(!) make sure that you prick the breast thoroughly with the carving fork (like scouring Pork) grind some sea salt and rub it in (again like Pork) put some orange slices on the breast and cook on a trivet, that way most of the fat drains during cooking - leaving you able to make a delicious orange gravy!! Just thought I'd mention it!!!
Oh dear Jane your poor sister, I do feel for her as it is difficult to say NO to your children even when they are quite grown up! but in the case of baby William, a completely different matter and quite impossible. We have always been 'there' for our two but we have had to draw the line as they've got older L's horse?!! I don't think so! and devoted though we are to the children there would be no way I could have them on a regular basis, which we've made clear, It's very easy to 'put on' parents without actually realising it, so probably best to have 'ground rules' in the first place.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

I feel better today. It is also a bit brighter today with some sunny patches.

Bit worried about Hogwart as he had'nt been out last night. I got him out his bedroom and have removed the divider bit incase he could'nt get through the hole now he is bigger. He is out in the run bit of the ark. He is breathing and is warm. I am wondering if he has decided he is big enough to go into hibination!!! Dor.... wrong month for that as he should be starting to wake up this month when the weather warms up a bit.

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim

Dull here but at least it's dry.

I now have a bit of history about Kiah,
she is 6 years old , we think that her last owners just had her for breeding purposes and now they no longer want her. she had been in the rescue home for 6 weeks and had to have 2 large warts removed from her back when she came in as you can see the scars , she also has Alopecia due to the stress of being in the rescue home and daughter was told Kiah has OCD, (didn't know dogs got that) Obsessive-compulsive disorder,
she is very friendly when she arrives at the door , she likes being made a fuss of but when she wants to go , she gets a little panicky and breathes heavily and her tummy goes in and out fast
Daughter says they are off to the shops to buy her a coat so her bald patches are covered till the hopefully grow back in,
Poor dog :-( she has such a sweet nature and you can see she loves being with young people, doesn't mind older dogs but is not comfortable around excited puppies ,

Daughter no 2 says she knows how poor Kiah feels, as daughter has Alopecia from stress when she was at University

Hope Frank doesn't stay away too long.

It's my daughter's birthday today, Harry and Chloe's mum, her partners parents are having the children tonight and she is being taken out for dinner, it'll do her good to have a break.

Lovely sunny day here too and it's quite warm, I wish I could get out in the garden and do some jobs but the HW has been sorely neglected while I've been painting so that's what I'm up to today.

Hi everyone. I tried to get onto the thread yesterday afternoon and it kept saying the page was down!! So here I am now, and sad to say my cough and cold are back in full force. I'm calling it my boomerang cold, because it keeps coming back!

We went to Atherstone on Saturday. Carmel's friend, who has now moved to Bath, has been staying with her brother in Atherstone while she is recovering from an operation. Her name is Sue, and Carmel and Sue worked together in the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry before Carmel got ill and was forced to quit. But like the other 'front of house' girls, they have all remained friends.
So as I say, we went over to Atherstone but thought we'd have a look at the (few) shops before calling on Sue. As I went to change from my driving glasses to my bifocals, the arm on the bifocals came adrift. There is only one opticians in Atherstone and they had closed at 1pm. I went across the road on the off chance to ask a jewellers shop if they could help me. It was run but two very nice ladies and the one who did the repairs said she'd have a go at superglueing the fitting back until I could get to my own opticians here. I had to leave it with them to set while we did the shops, but when we got back, it had been fixed and they wouldn't take anything for doing it. Doesn't that restore your faith in fellow humans?
The arm has lasted till today and is getting a bit 'iffy' so I'll take in to my opticians tomorrow to see what they can suggest. Watch this space.
By the time we left Atherstone we were getting pretty hungry (we'd skipped lunch) so we went via Nuneaton and called in at the Rugger Tavern Carvery in Attleborough. A nice two course roast and sweet there and a drink costs less than £11 for two so good value all round.

Going off to nurse my red nose and sore chest now. C Y A L (There you are, I got my own personal RED NOSE DAY :-( )

I hope your Daughter has a great evening out for her birthday Maureen.I bet she is really looking forward to it :-D

Fiona Kiah looks a beautiful dog.I'm sure once she has settled and feels safe again she will be great family pet. Thanks for the pics Mandy.

Oh dear 'Rudolph' second time around then. These colds this year have been dreadful for everyone. So far we have stayed cold free(long may it continue)

I finally have my car back :-D :-D :-D.It was so nice to get back in it again. But I couldn't understand why reverse gear wasn't working.......I was only trying to put it in the position the one in the courtesy car was in lolol.

Chris has mowed the lawn today and it's looking good :-D.But as normal once the grass gets cut I get a bit snorty :-S

I have been wondering rather than Brussels with my Sister it might be Antwerp.I think it might be more our cup of tea.I will have a good trawl on the internet and compare the 2 places.I will try not to tell her where we will be going until the time.(not easy lol)

My Mel ,Hogwart has piled on the weight again since last time you weighed him !!!
How will he cope on a diet I wonder???

MillymollyAmanda Report 4 Mar 2013 18:12

Well that's a devil getting your cold back again William, you just need to paint a little face on your nose and then you'll be ready for Red Nose Day !! :-D
No all joking aside i hope you soon get rid of it and feel better.

Maureen Happy birthday to your daughter ,i'am sure she's looking forward to her birthday meal .

I was thinking the other day it won't be long before the grass cutting begins , what with that and the tree pollen it won't be long before we're all bunged up !!!

I have a tiny Daff in flower !! :-D
