Mandy I turned the heating off this morning after I had my shower and was cooking.
Might turn it back on a bit later as the sky is quite clear and we may be in for a chilly night.

What lovely pressies Mel.Like you say no-one else will have the same as you :-D Can't wait to see pics . So it seems all the men are asleep!!!!! Typical :-D.I daren't doze now as I will never sleep tonight. I think we might have had a bit of rain earlier as the patio looks wet.It does feel very mild outside.I have turned the hating right down as the fire is roasting in here.
Chester is still mithering .It is the Turkey on top of the oven that he is after I think. It will be best if I just slice it all up now and pop it in the fridge .Remove temptation :-D
I think I will go and give Hannah a hand with the Jigsaw now.She looks like she is doing really well.

Just wrote a post and it went >>>>>>>>>>>>down a black hole!
Merry Christmas to you all. :-D :-D
We had lunch quite late at 2.30pm. The Turkey was delicious this year, one of the best and the roasts were lovely, crunchy and fluffy inside. OH thinks mine are the best, but I used different potatoes this year, skins red all over, so I didn't know how they'd turn out! I must get a new gravy seperator from L*keland though.......what a palaver skimming gravy without one. :-S Didn't want pud and still don't want tea!!
Mandy, I have been yawning all afternoon! OH has been reading his Post Office book and sneezing his head off......he said it was dust.......what dust, the house is clean! I bet the little ones haven't stopped smiling today.
What lovely pressies Mel......how did he manage to make them without you seeing them! Look forward to hearing about you night visitors.
I see more rain is forecast the rest of this week. I think I shall go to Grantham on the main roads tomorrow, the scenic route is nice, but hilly with brooks that flow under the road in the dips!!
Downton should be good tonight.....and The Midwife. :-D

OMG what are we going to see now on Downton??? I don't think that family will ever have a happy birth!! :-(
I did enjoy the Midwife program though. Oh left me to watch them on my own so that was nice.
My camera is on Hogwart in the lounge tonight and not outside as we are not quite sure how to use it yet so we thought we would give it a go on Hogwart and see just what it gets up to while we are sleeping.
Mandy the littlies will be cross they lost the stick but it is just as well your oh found it.

Well, What a fabulous day we had. The house looked so pretty, and everyone so happy! The littles were so lovely and so pleased with their presents as were 'L' and her OH. We provided the Brussels and the pudding, 'L' roasted a Goose and a Turkey crown as there were seven of us. She has certainly turned into an excellent cook as it was all quite delicious. We had lunch about 2,30, and afterwards we and 'L' s OH cleared away and tidied up while she took a well earned rest in the sitting room - her OH even swept the kitchen floor!!! We've always had thiis rule in our family going back years and years that the 'organiser/cook' goes off duty after the meal and others ie OH/? 'clears/washes up'. It seems only right to have an equal division of labour where possible and I'm glad to see that she and her OH are keeping this up, one person doing everything is totally unfair. P had a Kindle Fire which was fascinating and we were able to watch her competing in her last competition for which she won a silver medal - she is off the Iceland in March and Los Angles in Sept - Good thing their business is doing well!! A was delighted with her flute and Ed gave us a hilarious rendition of that South Korean chap who jumps about. Seems very quiet here today but we have friends coming tomorrow weather permitting which should be good.

Morning/Evening All
It seems as though we all had a lovely Christmas Day :-D.I have only just dressed.Hannah is still in her jim jams.Chris is lying on the bed with a tummy ache :-S :-S.James has taken Chester out. I will be off to town shortly to get a security tag taken of the Jacket I bought him .I didn't beep when leaving the shop either.
What does everyone have to eat on Boxing Day? Ours will be buffet .Hannah is out to a buffet also this evening.I think James is going to see friends.
It was so funny last night with Chris trying to get my new I Phone sorted. He was setting up email on it and then my pooter wouldn't recognise my password .I forgot what it was so it was all a bit fraught .In the end I think he got there. This morning he said he wonders it is a mistake giving me something quite so technical :-| :-| (he could be right you know lol) The sun is shining and it is a lovely morning :-D

Afternoon everyone,
Lovely bright and sunny day here ,we're just having a lazy day today ,just popping to sisters later once she gets up as she worked last night and she's working again tonight and tomorrow .
Will be very interesting to see what Hogwart gets up to while your asleep Mel :-)
Jane ,son had one of those tags left on some thing last year ,no way can you get them off ,they have to do it in the shop don't they, and some of those tags can make a hole in the fabric !!
Hubby's buying me a new phone as a christmas present ,but he thinks it better if i pick my own so out and then it will be one i can use :-D Son always sets things up for us ,we're useless at things like that :-S
Have a lovely boxing day everyone <3
Might look in later .

Hi All,
I did'nt wake till 20 to 12 !!!!!!! I was watching a film late last night, or should I say this morning but could'nt quite stay up to see the end :-( It was rock and roll and they had Jean Vincent on there and the Big Bopper and Little Richard. Went to bed about 25 to 3......
We still have 12 pressies each to open.
Cold turkey for us today and I shall cook the ham.
It is much better now we use bags for the pressies as you can put them away and use them each year. Not so much mess. I have used paper for some of the little ones and one BIG one for oh.
I also downloaded the camera a little earlier but we have to do it on oh's pc as at the moment my pc only recognises the sound and not the blimmin pics and videos. His recognises the pics and not the sound!!
It took 122 pics and videos last night but we need to get the camera further away as it was too close and we only got the top of the hog, also it needs to take films a bit longer. We will get there in the end though so nothing worth showing you today. It took a pic and then a vidio but the flash bounced back of the shiny wall paint so I need to cover the back of the ark with something.

Friends coming Friday!!! Good job I checked! Actually it's suits us better, more time to recover from yesterday!! We are cooking our Goose today, brussels and roast spuds - keeping it really simple, a joint effort, so not too arduous! Tomorrow, change of plan - cold with salad; Then Friday, soup, garlic bread,; Mince pies and merengues, all homemade apart from the bread! I have to justify that new Kenwood somehow!!! Ask the Midwife was brilliant - Downton, a bit dire, but as the chap was leaving the show I suppose they had to dispose of him somehow!!!

David. We were so lucky Xmas Eve.It didn't get as far as us.But not sure if we are out of the woods yet.It depends on how much more rain we get .The longer without the better the level will be in the brook and ditch. It is as black as anything now and has just started to rain :-S :-S
Liz no-one wants anything to eat here !!!!!.Good job I hadn't planned anything cooked.I am going to have Turkey Curry this evening lol.Just for Chris ,James and me. Nothing special ,just a couple of jars of sauce added to the cut up turkey.Peshwari Naan,Onion Bajhi and rice.I have never had Goose, not even a taste.I think all the spitting fat puts me off cooking it(plus I'm not sure anyone else would want it.Same with Duck.I have had a whole Gressingham Duck in the freezer for 12 months.(well it is in my neighbours freezer lol).I have never cooked a Duck.
Mel you had a really good lie in then. You will get some cracking photos once you get to grips with your new camera.Chris is still rolling his eyes at me with this blooming phone lol He just said he thinks it will a long and painful experience for him as he knows I will keep asking how to do such and such ,and how to find such and such......I really don't have a blo*** clue lol.People just need to be patient with me :-D(it's not easy I know :-S)
My old mobile still has about £13 credit on .Those who have my mobile number will hopefully get my new one soon :-D :-D....don't hold your breath lolol
I had James's jacket de security tagged and then bought myself a very pretty top and 2 pairs of Jeggings. Not often I actually get something for me :-D :-D.Te Jeggings will need turning up a bit but thats fine.
Now pouring :-S

We've just finished eating our Goose, and it was scrummy!! You ought to try it Jane, that and Duck is just deliciious! They (geese) do make a lot of fat, but I've never had any problems with them spitting, mind you I do cover them with foil for the first hour. We have a Duck in the freezer which we shall have for New Year. Our farmer friend gave it to us together with a brace of pheasant, also now in the freezer! Now looking folr a decent film!

Ham on the boil and is smelling good.
I have had another box from oh same fairy thing on the top but this one has a hole in the lid and another lid underneath and when I took that off it has lavender pot pouri in it. He said he thought I could take that one as it is lavender and it is not too bad with my CSS. At least while I had it open my tongue did'nt sting. I also had the rest of the pack also which looks quite interesting.

Phew, my little legs are weary. I did well though, got a new duvet set with curtains to match, pretty pink, cream and purple tulips all over a white background. The cream matches the bedroom wall paint which is good as it doesn't need repainting yet, just the job of turning up the curtains to do. Half price! :-D I also got a nice black leather bag and some shoes, also half price. I wanted a longish jacket to cover the long cardigans I have, but couldn't find anything I liked. I have come home before with one of those tags too and I tried to get one off but impossible as you say.
We are having turkey summat today as well, haven't decided just what yet. It would have been bubble and squeak, but he didn't fancy it last year so I did less veg this year! :-S When I rang him earlier he said we could have the left overs!! We can't win can we. I think a sauce in a jar like Jane is having and some rice with it should be good. It won't be curry though.
Liz, it sounds like you had a lovely day. I have never cooked a goose either, but mum used to say it was nice. Don't you have to put it on a trivet so the fat drips out as it cooks?
Mandy, how lucky your OH found the pen so quickly. I hope they haven't been squabbling about who's pen is lost!! :-S I would have to pick my own phone too, mind you the one I have now isn't as simple as I thought!! Jane, OH will be the same when he gets his laptop. It will be Ann, how do you, can you just look at, should it have, why does it, how can I.... ;-) ;-) As if I will know!!
I think OH is a convert to Call the Midwife after watching it last night. I thought he might be a bit squeamish as well! We enjoyed the film Loving Miss Hatto. We still have one more episode each of the Claridges and Westminster Abbey programmes we recorded to watch as well......I think they are brilliant!
Mel, I'm sure it will take a few adjustments before the camera is 'just right'. It will be good to see what happens at night though! Why haven't you opened your other pressies? Not saving them till next year are you?
I love one of the articles in our local paper today!! It said that a would be burglar caught after trying to break into a house was found to have an incrimiating text message on his phone. He'd sent it earlier in the day and it said,' "I've told you 20 times, don't ring me when I'm out robbing". :-S :-S What a twerp.........lol.
Better go and find the 'summat' to go with the turkey now.

Chris just had a look down the manhole cover in the front garden and the water level is right down at the moment (good sign). I might just dig that Duck out at some point Liz..If no-one wants it though I could pass it on to Fitz . Hannah will be going to her friends Buffet tonight with a few bits of food.I have said she can take one of the deserts we have in the fridge, some Tapas things, cold meats and a bottle of wine. She is also making a Cheese and Pineapple Hedgehog lol(remember them?)Wrapping a Melon in foil with a foil wrapped potato for a nose stuck on the end.I think there are 40 people at the party!!! Glad I'm not hosting :-D
