I have just been moving some bits from the garage, and James will move the little freezer we have borrowed from a neighbour.Hey Ho ! What a blood* year. Apparently there are roots growing through at least one of the drainage pipes by the spinney..If that that was known when it was unblocked the other week then it must have been known the same thing could happen . So what will be will be tonight. Please keep everything crossed for us.
Merry Christmas ;-) :-D

Evening everyone,
Well if we haven't got it now it's to late !!
Missed Frank, he will be on his way by now ,but will say Happy Christmas have a good time ,just in case you do look in again.
Merry Christmas to you Kim, it will be Christmas day for you now so have a lovely day .
Thanks Mel for letting us know about Shelia ,how sad losing her friend like that ,i have been wondering how she was doing .
Oh well done David on finding your tree , you'll be all christmasy now :-D
Oh Jane not again, thank goodness you hadn't got all your new white stuff in there to get damaged again, oh what a worry for you tonight , i'll keep my fingers all crossed for you <3
I've been looking at the turkey all day ,i'am not sure if it's going to be thawed out or not so we nipped out after lunch and bought a fresh one !! i took it out of the freezer yesterday but we left it down in the shed and i think it was cold in there that it hasn't thawed as quick as having it in doors . I can always freeze the fresh one if needed .
Sister and BIL just popped in she bought me a huge bunch of mixed roses for all the help we gave them when BIL was in hospital, i had to use two vases to take them all. Had a little cry ,which then started her off too.
Well i think i'd better sort some thing out for us to eat ,Jacket potatoes i think .

What a palaver with the water Jane. Your'e having an unfortunate time of it to put it mildly.
If any further flooding occurs because of some ones errors / oversight you ought to sue without hesitation.
Let's hope it doesn't happen.

Afternoon All,
It's been pouring all day here, no let up at all. What a worry for you Jane........perhaps it's as well you haven't got your NEW white goods in the garage! :-S
Well done, David...........at least you found it before you got another.
I think I have done all I can now.......turkey is wearing it's bacon waistcoat in the fridge and is in it's tin and foiled up, gammon is cooked, OH has done the veg ready and I even have dinner plates ready in the warming drawer. Made the bread and onion sauce..........no, I still need to cook the sausage rolls!! :-0
Merry Christmas Kim, what a nice surprise for Joel, finding the present on his car.
Hope you have a lovely time Frank......you have certainly done your bit! Ros should start to feel a lot better when she has the antibiotics.
I don't know what's happened up the close, but when we went out this morning there was an ambulance, paramedic and large black vehicle parked up the other end. Not a good time for someone, but I have only seen an elderly chap there on a few occasions as I've driven by.
Oh heck, you just sit down at last....now he wants his hair cut after all!! BBL

Mandy the water in the kitchen sink is not draining away now !!!!!!! .So daren't flush any loos at the moment.I'm now worried about cooking and having dishes.I think it might have to be a take away and eat out of containers :-S :-S.
That was lovely to get those flowers. No wonder you had a few tears. My Turkey Crown in in the sink in the downstairs loo lol.I think it is defrosting ok.But at the moment that is the least of my worries. I am being told off for flapping by my two
:-| :-|......But as I said if it was their own property under threat they would be flapping themselves !!!
I am looking forward tonight to Mrs.Browns Boys.I just find the programme hilarious. It's either love it or hate it .
I think it is time for a glass of something :-D

O Jane I do hope you don't get flooded again!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I really think you should take my advice and have a block work plinth built to put your white goods on, that way they should be safer.
Just made loads of mince pies and sausage rolls. Went to do the cake and I only seem to have mazipan and no roll out icing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-S :-S :-S I am sure I bought them both together but there again I could have thought I will get the other next week and forgot. :-( Still I like mazipan and it is the white one so there :-P :-P :-P :-P
My turkey breast joint has been out the freezer for a few hours now but should be ok for tomorrow. Have never done one of these before as we usually have a crown but there again there is only the two of us and I have a small piece of beef and a ham. We won't starve....... ;-)

Oh that doesn't sound very good in your close Ann, under takers use those black vans don't they :-(
I was just reading about the A47 being closed near us, an 80 year old lady has died in a car crash and the driver an 80 year old man in the car with her has been rushed to hospital, a 60 year old in the other car has many broken bones :-( a very sad christmas for some poor family .
Jane i would be flapping too, after all it's not been very long since you had all the water in , and not being able to flush is not good !!

Hi everyone, Christmas Eve and I'm being a good boy so that Santa won't forget me. Haven't posted because it's been too busy here.
Yesterday most of the family popped in at some time or another. We had a delightful visit from baby Grace, who is so vocal now and such a charmer. Nearing one year old, she is as much a time-waster as cats and kittens. Why wash up when you can play with your great-granddaughter! Today was also a series of visitors so I didn't get half the jobs done that I'd planned, but hey, that doesn't matter, they will keep. Our neighbour Lynne called in with her delightful little girl, six year old Kiera. It was lovely to watch her face as she took in all our decorations and things. She told us a joke - "Why does Santa have three gardens?" "So he can - Ho, ho, ho(e)" I asked her, "Who looks after Santa when he's ill?" "The National Elf" (Ok, ok, just throw money!!!) So, it's been lovely to see everyone but tomorrow it will be just us two and the turkey crown. We've got everything we want, including each other.
So my good dear friends on here, I'll raise my glass to you all, and hope that you all spend a Lovely Christmas Day in whatever way is best.

A very good morning to anyone who is up and about - or not too busy to pay a visit to 'The Thread' A very happy day to you all - and many, many more of them.
I'm waiting for Carmel to wake up so we can go down and make war on the wrapping paper. We had a cuppa earlier but have had some more zzzzz's in between. If you didn't see the film' Nativity' yesterday on BBC2, make time to watch it on IPlayer sometime. Set in Coventry, those who know the city will recognise Henry VIII school, the catherdral, The Butts College entrance and other places including nearby Coombe Abbey. A great story, lovely children, super music and the end is a feast of kids, colour and a feel-good factor. Can't wait for 'Nativity II' to come to our screens. Plenty of faces you will recognise from film & TV including Pam Ferris as Head Teacher and Ricky Tomlinson as the Mayor of Coventry.
C Y A L - the pictured crib is now in front of the fireplace. If a candle is placed behind it, it looks lovely with the light flickering. PS. Don't eat too much :-P

A very Merry Christmas to you all who make my year here on the thread. It is so nice to have so many good friends, good memories, good tales and good laughs.
Oh is off ringing for two churches this morning so I shan'nt see him till about 11am which gives me time to do the table and feed the chickens and clean out the hedgehog. O and of course get the dinner under way.
I hope you all get what you asked Santa for..... :-D :-D :-D <3
See you later... <3 and wishes for Christmas 2012 <3

Good morning William and anyone else who is around this morning! A Very Happy Christmas to you and I hope you have a lovely day. We didn't see the film Nativity yesterday, but we did watch Kings College, as we do every year. I think this time it was even more inspiring, and the carols were absolutely fabulous - starts Christmas off on the right foot so to speak! We are leaving here about 11am and heading for our daughter and son-in-Law where we will spend the day with them and their three 'littles'. Must say, I'm really looking forward to it!! It has stopped raining here and hopefully we will have a fine day!!. Hope everyone is alright and that the day goes wel for you all.

Merry Christmas one and all <3 <3.I hope not too many chocs and nuts have been eaten yet to spoil your dinner ;-)
All presents opened now,and didn't we all do well.I got an I phone.......haven't got a clue how to use it though lolol.I will have to be given lots of lessons.
Christmas Carols playing ,Turkey Cooked and resting.Stuffing and Pigs in Blankies in now. Then it will be the Roast Potatoes /Parsnips etc and veg,but I doubt we will eat until about 2.
We had no rain in the night so thankfully have stayed dry with no disasters so far.It is a worry though with more rain to come.
Chester is looking pooped after helping unwrap all he pressies and tripping in and out of the kitchen behind me every time the oven pings hoping for something to eat lol.He will just have to wait like the rest of us :-D
I hope you are all having a lovely Christmas Day and had nice presents and scrummy food <3

Mandy ,Chris has for a nap and I feel full .No-one could eat pudding. My savoury filo parcels went down well :-D,Hannah is doing the Jigsaw that I bought for us all and James is trying to fly some indoor helicopter :-S :-S We seem to have got through rather a lot of Prosecco and wine :-D :-D that is why Chris has had to go for a lie down ;-) Hannah lit the fire just now which after a lot of fiddling with is finally roaring up the chimney. So we now look nice and cosy.
My Niece (Janice's daughter) put up a photo on F B of her set dining table....It looks stunning. Put mine to shame :-S.Janice and OH went there today.Last night was a worry for them as the river was half way up the back garden again :-0 I bet everyone is full to the brim and chilling now.
I don't like the look of the sky. There seem to be some very black clouds looming :-|

Sky's not looking to good here looks more like rain .
Never got forty winks , i unloaded the dishwasher and reloaded it again ,then i thought i'd better tackle the tins !! :-S so all tidy again.
How did the scratch cards go Jane did anyone win? we never won a sausage out of the eight we had :-(
I have to be careful what i put on the table ,the little ones will knock something over you can be sure of that , had one wine glass broken at lunch time and when i unloaded the washer another glass was broken . I use to dress the table so it looked lovely years ago, always did a table decoration.
We are so hot here we've turned the heating off.

Well I am still full up. We had our dinner but had to wait a while before we had the pud.
I have had some lovely pressies too and there is still more to open but oh has gone for a nap and I have just shut the chickens in and am having a cup of tea as I type.
Jokingly I said to oh, "now you have that lovely lathe you can make me a magic wand" guess what was the first pressie I opened??... :-D :-D :-D yes a magic wand and it is beautifull two colours of wood and I have taken a pic of it.
Later I opened another and it is a turned box in cherry wood which has a lid and on the top are fairies in pewter that he bought to go on the top. Hav'nt taken a pic of that yet but I will. I think it is so nice when you get something made especially for you and nobody else will ever have one the same because all the wood grain is different.
I tried the wand but it dos'nt seem to be working yet. I tried to shut the chickens in with it but still had to go outside and do it. Perhaps it was a bit too much to ask it to do for me.. ;-) ;-) ;-)
My camera is set up outside the indoor hedgehog tonight as oh wants to make a stand for it so I still have to wait to see whats eating the food I put out down the garden. It is still going each night and the sticks outside the hog box are not always knocked down.
