Oh Mandy you have been a busy bee.I haven't made any mince pies. It's not really worth it as only Chris and I eat them. The last time I did make some(special ones with Filo pastry)I found the box a year later with them still in :-S :-S.Bit like Christmas puddings.I was always finding them in the back of a cupboard years out of date lol.

Mel I couldn't open your pics of Deer and Owl :-S

I have just finished ironing the last of those shirts that I started yesterday.I refuse to get the ironing board out again until after Christmas :-D.enough is enough. :-D

I am just about to start making my Christmas cake!! It is usually one of the first things I do but it has gotten left this year with so many wreaths to make.

Glad you enjoyed your grandchildren today Maureen.

We didn't get up till gone 11.00am, then showered and went to the garden centre in the next village for a small lunch. The floods were bad again and a little Micra decided to turn round where I nearly got stuck before!! On the way back OH detoured round where the quarry is to see how bad it was there after I told him how bad it was yesterday. More water pouring through our garden from next door's because they have filled the ditch in at the back of their garden!! :-| I think it could be worse still round here this time if it doesn't stop raining soon.

Sorry you are having these health problems Kim, but it will be good for you not to have to do Xmas lunch. Well done and phew.......Miranda passed her exams!! I bet she was relieved as well. I had a card from Sheila too.....but no message either. I often wonder if she looks in on here.

Jane, I hope Fitz's mum is ok.....! He doesn't need any more worries just now.

Mel, that is so handy having the caravan fridge to use......my fridge is packed now! At least the caravan is high up off the ground, but maybe that part doesn't flood?

Jane Report 22 Dec 2012 17:04

Crumbs Mel ! Hogwart it a proper Roly Poly lol

Fitz's Mother has been admitted to Leicester General!.Seems she might have had some kind of small stroke. What a shame she wasn't brought to Kettering. That means poor old Fitz will have that long journey .The trouble with her being in Market Harborough is that it is on the border of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire so she could have gone either place.

Maureen. It sounds like you coped very well :-D :-D.Good Grandma,Nana,Grannie(what are you called??)

I have just been banned from the study........Chris is wrapping pressies :-D :-D must be mine :-D

Jane , so sorry to hear that sad news at this time of year. I do hope everything will turn out for the better. Our thoughts will be with you all.

Annx Report 22 Dec 2012 17:23

Ohhh Maureen, well done for coping with the 2 of them......lucky Harry is such a good boy. :-D There is only so much one pair of hands can do at once! Munchies, yes, just eaten some choccy buttons now as well.......it will all stop after crimbo though!!

I used to make all my own mince pies years ago, I think they do taste much better than those you buy, even the expensive ones.

Strictly final tonight!! :-D Oh I think it will be the best yet........all really good and a nice friendly bunch.......I think Denise or Danni should win, but the public seem to want Kimberley. It will be fantastic to see Denise's Charleston again, though.

I' m with you on that Ann, Christmas starts now, bought a big bag of mixed nuts to take, along with loads of other goodies, to daughters but have opened them and of course I need something to wash them down with ;-) I'll be good after Christmas.

Don't know if I already said but your latest creations are lovely, didn't think they could get any better but they do.

I can't call it on Strictly they are all really good, I like all three girls.

Wasn't the last episode of Last Tango brilliant, the acting was so good it almost felt real.

Hope you manage to enjoy Christmas Kim, hard sometimes when you're feeling unwell to be sociable. Good news that Miranda has passed her exams, what will she do now. I'm getting a bit better on Facebook don't you think :-0

What a shame Jane and a worry for Fitz. The only good thing is that if he comes in on the A6 from Mkt Harborough, he can turn off on the A6030 for the Leicester General before he gets into the city. Getting to Leicester Royal Infirmary would be far worse and with queuing up to park as well!! MIL liked it in the General, said they were very caring.

Maureen, I had to laugh in the week!! I was watching Strictly It Takes Two with Zoe Ball. (episode 53 about 7 minutes 50secs in on the bbciplayer) Instead of saying 'standing ovations', she said 'standing ovulations' but no-one seemed to notice!! lol. :-0

Maureen

Maureen Report 22 Dec 2012 18:14

A Freudian slip on her part maybe.

What a worry for Fitz Jane and he isn't in the best of health. He has an amazing place, loved the photos of the Christmas trees.

Strictly's on soon, will sit and watch that and stop eating, shan't bother with dinner now. That's one advantage of being on my own, can please myself.
