Morning All,
Didn't have a good night, sneezing, sniffing and bunged up with achey back and knees :-S. I had a nice lay in this morning though. OH heard the mousetrap in the loft go off in the night, so he'll be up there again today to remove it. We are taking both cars to Mor*isons near his mum's to have a bite at lunchtime and then he will pick his mum up for the long trek to the hospital and I will buy a few things I need then go to one of the big garden centres, Woodlands, William will know it.
It seems a lot warmer to me today.......or maybe it is just me!! lol.
Can someone forward William's pic to me as well please? :-)
I hope Mandy's OH has a better day today and that little Lacey is improving now.
Right, a bit more necklace making I think with another hot cuppa till OH gets back with the papers. :-D

Frank.I can just picture you in your Nurses Uniform ;-)Poor Ros would get a shock lol
That is great that you heard back from your daughter.Hopefully the photos of your Grandsons and Gt Grandson manage to get through.I imagine you felt very relieved that she replied this time :-D
I am cooking some tart things this morning.Just Mushroom, bacon, red pepper, with a bit of fresh Basil and a mix of gratred Parmesan and Cheddar. It smells lovely in the oven.
Fitz noticed the door to his wine cupboard under the stairs open this morning.Inside without it;s head and innards was a whole Pheasant!!!!!!!!! Blood and feathers all over the place. His cat Podge had caught it and dragged it through the cat flap. This is the 2nd Pheasant now :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S I rang him just as he was up to him armpits in Marigolds and feathers. He didn't sound too happy lolol
Ann I hope you feel better as the day goes on.Mornings and evenings are the worst time of day for being stuffed up I find.
The oven is pinging so better go and see if the tarts cooked. Then I am going to hoover the stairs and landing before the logs arrive.I have the big Wheelbarrow at the ready.

Oh dear, poor Ros has been up for an hour and now gone back to bed. She won't eat or drink. She says she has terrible pains in the bottom of her stomach. I will leave her to rest/sleep. If she wants anything, I have told her to call.
Just had a quick look at my Emails, and I have photo's of Gt grandson, also my Grandsons at passing out parade. I think there is also one of my daughter. The grandchildren look so much like me as a young Airman. Has the bridge been CROSSED. I won't get to close, she caused me so much pain years ago, I just won't be able to forget and forgive.
I bet Fitz is well pleased with his cat, perhaps he thinks he would like them for Christmas dinner lol lol. My old cat would bring in baby rabbits when we were in Gayton.
Still in dressing gown, even thought I am all showered and shaved. nice and comfortable, but I had better get dressed in case anyone calls.

Haven't had a chance to read all the posts as I've been at daughters and didn't get home till yesterday evening, one of the cats managed to get himself shut in the art room, didn't realise until I got home and heard him meowing, he left me a not very nice packet in there :-0. I'd better check all the rooms before I head off for Christmas, I shall be gone nearly a week this time.
What a difference a few weeks has made to baby Chloe, she is so alert follows you with her eyes and gives you some lovely smiles. Poor little Harry has a nasty cold but he still managed to muster up a few laughs. Meant to take my camera but forgot. I have a lot of senior moments these days William, I'm always forgetting to attach photos to e.mails.
Why was Fitz cross Jane, he could have the pheasant for Chrismas dinner, we had pheasant one year, but I spent most of the time trying to avoid the pellets. Didn't like the taste of it much either.

Annie, you have a lot to be thankful for - sometimes we forget these wonderful hospitals we have that gave us a chance of life. When I was three months old (of course my parents told me this later) I had congestion of the lungs, septic tonsils and abcese of the throat. That was 1935. I was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in East London. They told my parents that there was a new operation that had been done in America that would give me a 50/50 chance. My parents took the chance that Whipps Cross could do it - and it saved my life. I escaped scars even, which was rare in those days. However, at the age of 29, another life threatening illness meant I had to have a trachaeotomy which did leave a scar. I'm proud to have that scar and to know that once again, my life was spared. And here I am, age 77 and ready to enjoy another thankful Christmas.

Nice to see a new poster. Annie any other memories, just pop in and let us know.
Will, W.C.H. has many memories for me, My mother had a major operation in there just after the war. We would go over there every Sunday afternoon with Dad, to see her. There was always the "FLOWER SELLER" with what seemed to a child, thousands of bunches of flowers. I suppose being just after the war, we hadn't seen that many in our young lives. I can't remember how long she was in there, but it seemed a long time. Whilst in RAF square bashing, I had a call from the Orderley room to report to the Duty Officer. My mother had been taken ill and requested me to go to her bedside. I was given a weekend leave and train ticket. It all turned out well, and she recovered. My father had a major operation in there when they discovered Cancer. After opening him up, they found the Cancer was so large, they stitched him up and sent him home. He dies in 1958 in the London Hospital, Whitechapel Road. My eldest brother also died in there. It was also the hospital that my twin and I had our tonsils removed. So you can see what I mean when I say memories.
Ros has been in bed all day, she has just come into the lounge and laying on the sofa. I can't get her to eat or drink, even though I have made a BOVRI# and she has a glass of water. Stubbon as a mule, when she wants to be. I might try her with some soup later.
I will get myself a Jacket potato and cold pork later. with a bit of cheese and baked beans.
Trust you all had a good day.

Ahh Maureen .How old is little Chloe now? I forget .Lets hope Harry doesn't pass his bugs on to her. I'm not surprised you had a parcel of doo doo .Poor Puss .He obviously just couldn't hang on any longer :-S
Years ago we had a cat called Bella.I think we had been away for a night and as we were driving down the road and just turning into the drive we spotted her sitting in the window of the upstairs bedroom of the house opposite :-0.The owners were away on holiday.I have no idea how she got in as they didn't have a cat or cat flap.I think Dad rang the Police and they said to try our own door key !!!!!!.It flipping well fitted :-0 :-0.So Dad nipped in and got Bella.Had a look around for any deposits and made a hasty retreat lol.I don't think we ever told those neighbours that they had had a squatter !!
William your house is looking very festive.Carmel had done a great job :-D. Is she feeling any better now? I want to get some Holly to go over some of the Picture Frames.Maybe I can get some tomorrow when I out and about.
Today is my Gt Nephew Finn's 7th Birthday. He is growing up so fast.Lat night it was the Christingle in Tewkesbury Abbey and he was doing something in it.No doubt I will hear from Janice how it all went.I used to love going to Christingle with my 2.But I could never keep a dry eye.I think tingle is the word for that service <3
Maureen.Fitz said it was like carnage in his wine 'cellar' .He reckons he will be finding feathers for ever.I told him he could make a lovely Hat decoration with them lol.I won't tell you his response to that lol.The other week it was a Rat on the landing that had been got by Podge and partially eaten.I seem to remember a Squirrel too at one point. That cat is a BIG hunter :-S :-S
William that 'Angel' doll has a lovely face :-D

Mandy .No they are not my starters.I just realised I had pastry that needed using. Still not sure about Xmas Day starter.I think it will be those individual Camemberts that heat up in the oven .I just don't know :-S Decisions Decisions!.Really no-one is bothered about starters. It is just me that thinks I have to the proper thing lol.Just call me Hyacinth (or Mrs Bucket) :-D :-D Mind you by the time I have a few drinkie poos while cooking they will be lucky to have anything on the table :-D :-D :-D(just kidding).....although one year i did forget to put the Turkey on the plates. We started to eat and Hannah said she thought something was missing.....Oooops .So the Turkey (which was already sliced) was put in tin foil and plopped in the middle of the table for everyone to just help themselves. They have never let me live that one down :-| :-|

More like Nurse Gladys Frank!! lol. I hope your pinny is clean and straight. :-D Poor Ros, I know what she means about feeling too ill to go to the docs, it's like that sometimes. Hopefully with rest and keeping hydrated she will start to feel a bit better soon and fancy a drop of soup. It's good that your daughter has contacted you and you have some photos. That must have been nice.
Thanks Wiiliam/Mel/Jane for sending me the pics. Those almshouses have a lovely outlook with that tree, just a dusting of snow needed, like you all say.
Jane, I thought you were practising your starters for Christmas too! Oh I love crunchy, breaded camembert with the middle all melted!! Poor Fitz finding that blood and gore in his wine cellar. It would have put me off my breakfast!! Podge is definitely spot on with his 'seasonal' offerings. lol. It must take quite a bit of effort for him to lug a pheasant home......do you think it might have been road kill that he found? I have this picture in my head now of Fitz in marigolds!! lol. :-D
Hi, CannieAnnie, nice to hear from you. Yes, we should all be thankful for the skills of those that that have enabled us to still be here shouldn't we. I wish you well with your recovery and Merry Christmas to you too.
Oh Maureen, I bet puss shot out when you opened the door! I shut a neighbour's cat in here once and I'd gone round calling her before I went out too. She was sitting at the front door, waiting to be let out when OH got home........luckily she must have crossed her legs.....no mess! Jane, it was very lucky that your cat was sitting in the window and also that you spotted her!!

LOL David..Never heard that expression before :-D.In's and out's of a Cat* Ar** yes. I will remember the Far end of a F*** now lol Sorry about Ellen's friend.Hopefully she will soon be up and about again.
Ann I bet Podge is catching all those Pheasants escaping from the men with guns at the moment.I saw a group of them the other week looking scared out of their wits in the grounds of Fitz's neighbour. I think they were trying to hide lol Little did they know they are running straight into a trap...PODGE :-S :-S.He probably thinks he is in heaven .Yes I have seen Fitz in his Marigolds before when his Mum was at home and he had a little cleaning up job to do.So he is quite used to wearing them :-D :-D.I can't imagine the mess though that he has had to clear out from that wine cupboard. :-S :-S .It isn't easy to get into so Fitz must have been on his hands and knees. I can hear a Pheasant now somewhere out the back.I think is next door.I think with all the shooting going on they are getting displaced when they run for cover.Poor things.
I hope all who are feeling ill and under the weather have a good night and feel much better in the morning.

Raining here need I say more............................ :-(
The ground is already waterlogged from last time it rained. The poor chickens are paddling again. Still they should have b3eautiful feet come spring with all the mud packs they have had on their feet.
Not doing much today, just the feeding of the chickens, fish and Hogwart and cleaning him/her out. Might do up a couple of pressies.
Wrote this and forgot to post it!!

Morning all. Just got the car out of the garage, yukky cold and damp out there. I have to take Carmel to the hospital this afternoon about the biopsy results on her tongue. We should be seeing the maxliofacial consultant so we'll have to see what course of treatment he want her to follow.
I'm glad you are all liking the decs that are all over the house. Carmel loves her Christmas and keeps adding bits. It seems like only yesterday (last January!) that we took a load of surplus decsto the charity shop! It's the same in our porch, there are lights and decs in there too. If I sent out pics of all of them, you'd soon get bored :-0
I've got one or two more photos of our almshouses which I'll email out. Maybe of interest to anyone that has never seen them. Because they were built in the gothic style, they are not as old as they look. But they do provide lovely accomadation for local born folk and on certain days, like the 'bun' day for schools, the whole town gathers on the lawns there. There is usually a lovely Christmas tree just at the entrance each winter but this year it's a modern thing, doesn't look quite the same.
