Many thanks for sending it on to me Mandy, I hadn't received it! It is a lovely card Liz....thank you. :-D It's weird isn't it how some of these computer systems won't talk to each other. :-S

OMG Jane, I would often be in bed by that time!!

Oh dear William......cremated offerings! I think pizza timing is a bit tricky anyway, one minute it is too soft in the middle, the next it seems the edges are going black! :-S

Frank your description of M and D could have been my parents.......especially the lack of any affection and being a servant!

Thank you Mandy for sending the cards on. It's so strange that some go through without any trouble and others get lost in the system! I had two go through twice for no apparent reason! one of which was to my Dutch Archivist friend!! Goodness knows what he thought, but then I expect he thinks all English people are weird!!!
A VERY cold frosty morning here. I tried to take some pics of the birds on the table, but they were too timid and flew off, so I had to be content with frosty trees!
Not going anywhere today - hooray. I expect you can translate the card on Google Jane - could help you with French, but NOT Ukranian!! Also thank you for your card Jane, it came yesterday afternoon (late!) it's lovely! Must defrost the birdbath, poor little birds are trying to use it!!!

MORNING ALL/Evening KIM.

Great frosty morning here, with bright sky's and plenty of sunshine. All feed and watered, showered and shaved, still in my dressing gown. No I am not a lazy old B

Julia's birthday today. 54. almost as old as me !!!! We are going to pop down tomorrow afternoon, as Lewis gets home from school. Will spend a few hours with them. Ros won't mind driving home in the dark as most of it will be on the motorway.

Was thinking of Christmas's passed. When in junior school, we were given a tangerine, apple and a few almonds in a bag on the last day at school before Christmas. We always had a big fat cockerel, for xmas dinner. Dad would keep it in a cage againt the fence, and feed and feed it. It got to the stage it could hardly move. Then of course came the fatefull day, and the plucking and hanging in the Pantry in the cold. I was married before I had a Turkey. Working in London, I wouls go to Smithfield Meat Market and get one by bidding at the auction. Often the biggest were cheaper, and you had turkey for ever and a day !!

Again as a child, my Sister Clara and her Husband Tom. would always take us five youngsters to either a pantomime or an Ice Show on Boxing day. How they could every afford it, I will never know. and there was always tangerines and sweets to go with the evening. She was more like a Mother to me that my own Mother.

They were one of the first to move into Harlow new town, I would spend Easter, Whitsun and part of my summer holidays with them. We had some great time collecting dead trees to be made into fencing around his back garden. Their garden backed onto woods, so I was for every plating in the trees, and birds nesting in the spring.

Better go and get dressed.

Yesterday I had a fall with him.grazed my arm thou my thick coat and landed on my hip lol..I was trying to protect him and got pulled over or something

I was talking to an old work freind whose dog was a bit fiesty that day..Mocha was cowling behind me then the other dog charged and I tried to protect Mocha lol..

Thanks Mandy for forwarding Liz's card and thank you Liz. I have just got Son-i-l to do too, have no idea, think it will just be vouchers from one of the clothes shops he likes.

Been ironing all morning, at least it keeps me warm, but now at the computer I'm really cold, sometimes the only way I can get warm is a hot bath.

Ouch Pat, hope you haven't hurt yourself too badly, my parents had a golden labrador years ago, he rushed off in excitement when my mum took him out, pulled her over and she broke her ankle.

Thanks for the photos Ann and William, judging by all that frost it's certainly colder where you are. Isn't that web beautiful, it looks like crochet.

It was very cold again here this morning, a frosty minus 3 degrees. Then we had a powdering of snow, I hope you all get my photo of the frosty spiders web. We decided to go to Nuneaton and it took ages from the Eliot roundabout as there was a load of goods traffic. It seems there was a chemical spillage on the M6 and they were being rerouted. Never mind, it turned out to be Mission Possible.

Printer cartridges. A while ago someone was looking to buy a printer so I just wanted add a bit about cartridges and I may be preaching to the converted. Did you know you can send spent cartridges off and get T*sco points? You can get the freepost envelopes from there stores and earn 100 Green club card points, or donate £1 to charity for each acrtridge - or split it for 50 Green points and 50p to charity. Most cartridges can be sent away for various charity etc but not ALL cartridges The same applies to having cartridges refilled, not ALL cartridges can be refilled so it's worth bearing this in mind when choosing a printer. Sermon over.

Carmel is always knocking mobile phones, but this monring good old Android phone turned out to be Santa in disguise. My niece down in Essex sent a text to say she & our great-nephew will be coming up to see us on December 28th. That has put the fairy on top of our tree. Haven't seen her for about three years now so it will be lovely.

Jane, sorry, don't speak Ukranian, will a smattering of Irish do? (And I don't mean the kind in a bottle LOL) We used to get cards from Switzerland and Russia and the words meant nothing. However, the pictures on the cards were stunning.

Oh, I just thought - I posted my spiders web on Faceb**k only to find my son in London had beaten me to it! Then my daughter in Northamptonshire contacted me and said she's also got a photo of a web to post. So there you go, World Wide Web :-D

Afternoon All,

Very frosty here and foggy too at first.

Frank......54?.........and the rest methinks! LOL ;-)

I've been having 'one of those days'!! We set off for Nuneaton when I realised my credit card wasn't in my purse!! :-0 After I searched my purse and bag about 3 times with OH asking silly questions like 'can't you remember where you put it?' I remembered getting it out and putting it on the bed last night while I tried to top up my mobile! (another failure!) OH turned the car round and we went back and I found it on the bedroom floor under the edge of the valance. Thank goodness I thought and off we went. We went our seperate ways in Nuneaton while I went to look at the specs to choose some new ones. Nothing took my fancy so I went looking at other shops. OH usually rings me when he has finished, but when I checked my mobile he'd already tried to ring me 4 times! I rang him back......no answer!! So, as I was almost out of credit, I texted him that I was going back to the car and we met there. There was nothing wrong ......he was just wondering how I was doing!! :-S I got him to try ringing me again, but it seems in my efforts to silence my phone from bleeping and pinging every time you touch anything, I had switched off ALL sounds including INCOMING call rings!!! lol. Rather than tramp back to the shops we carried on and went for lunch. As we are regulars, although the special carvery deals are stopped over the Christmas period, the manager lets us still have them which is quite a saving. ;-) !! Then we returned home and I thought I'd have another go at topping up my mobile. Still no success as my card was declined.......and straightaway my battery went flat!!!!! :-S More fiddling and faffing and I got through again, to be told the same, but managed to pay with another card. Then I rang the credit card people.......seems that it was used by an online company I didn't know at 8.00am this morning to collect a subscription!!!!. Anyway, it is cancelled now and I may have to wait till after Christmas for a new one..........so can't get a refund on the faulty boots I was taking back today.back for a refund today. Just at a time when I would be spending more money as well and could be collecting lots of points for vouchers!! :-S C'est la vie!!

Well you've had quite a day Ann, it didn't start well did it having to go back for your card, still at least you got a nice lunch out. That reminds me I must get my eyes tested again, looking around I think Sp*csavers are probably the best they always have a buy one get one free on frames, I find I need my glasses more and more now, so two pairs of reading glasses would be handy, save me trapesing all the way back downstairs when I'm just about to get into bed and read my book, one pair up and one pair down.
