LOL Mandy there is always one child who you can hear above all the others.Did you have to use tissues?? I always blub at Children's Nativity's :-D Mind you I can cry at the drop of a hat .There usually a child or too that spot their parents in the audience and give a wave.I have a video where James is doing that :-D It makes my tummy go all funny when I see it. I always remember when I was about 6 or 7 and was in some show.Janice was with Mum and Dad in the audience, and I was mortified when I heard Janice saying in a very loud voice the she needed a Wee Wee :-S :-S

Hi everyone. Another frosty 0-minus 1 degree here today. I see on the TV that there was another vehicle fire on the roads of the Midlands, this time on the A500 running through Stoke on Trent. That's two serious lorry fires in two days involving chemicals. About time someone took this more seriously.
I was saying to Carmel today what a funny old world language-wise it is today. You ask someone how they are, they say "I'm good" - what happened to I'm fine, I'm well, I'm great thanks? Ask someone, do you want another cup of tea - "No, I'm good" - What's that all about then? My granddaughter in Skegness on Facebook seems to have a language all her own. Is it all this texting they do these days? In the early days of computing you could only save a file using 8 characters. To do that we often dropped out the vowels, now they do it on texting because it means less keystrokes. I can see the day when the English alphabet will be down to about 20 letters!!! Moan over. I just like good English (even if it's used by Americans in the right way). The late author John Steinbeck had a wonderful way with words. I would read a paragraph, then read it again because it was such a great use of words.
We went out shopping again today, just to a local retail shopping area. Carmel wanted to get me something from Arg*s, and that was the nearest branch. I'd already got the details from the book we had here, we had just got in the store and were about to look at one of those terminals to check stock when a young lady assistant asked if we needed any help. I told her I had the details, she checked the screen and told us two were in stock. Then she took us to a card reading machine popped in the number. All I had to do was pop in my pin, a receipt came out, I stood a Position A, 5 minutes later we we're walking out of the store with the product. That's amazing! There were still customers standing in the 'Pay Here' queue. The rest of the shopping went OK, then we went up to Ball Hill in Coventry, into the Rose Bud cafe and had an afternoon meal. I love that place, they have an infinite variety of things on the menu, will do anything you fancy, bring it all to your table, make friendly chat in Italian, or whatever accent, and it doesn't cost the earth. I think if we lived a bit nearer we'd be in there more often.
Does anyone else think they've made a proper post on here, only to press submit, read it back and see a load of errors to be editied out? I do it most times.

Changed my photo again. That's me hanging out the washing this morning with a Santa hat on to keep my ears warm :-) All I seem to do is hang out damp washing, then bring in damp washing and put it on the airer! Today it came in frozen like boards :-S

Yes William, I always read through my posts, as I do if I write/ type a letter, and yes, I ALWAYS find mistakes, both spelling and grammar! I agree over modern expressions too; My nine year old granddaughter always replies, that she is 'good', and other expressions that leave me a bit nonplussed!!!! She is a lovely girl though, as are all three of them, and so speedily forgiven! OH and I have nearly finished putting up our decorations, and they do look pretty!

Evening All,
Well, I have had a change of pic too! Fancy dress, one Christmas at work in the 80s........you should see the the pants below with white spots on. :-D I drove home like this in my little red peugeot after work.......it was great, everyone pointing and waving. I'm sure I've said before that on the way home I called at mum's and she thought I was someone collecting for charity and nearly didn't open the door!!! lol.
My tree is still minus it's baubles Jane......another job for tomorrow as well. The lounge looks like a bomb has hit it with all the boxes in there. I seem to have spent all afternoon on the phone sorting out about THAT payment!! :-P :-P
Mel, I'm not much better.......I think I wished Kim a happy 2012 instead of 2013!!!!! Sorry Kim, I hope 2013 is much better!!!! lol. <3 Once I sent half a letter to someone and another time when I was meant to put a SAE in the envelope I got the envelopes the wrong way around and sent it back to ME instead!! :-D
Thanks for the sparkly card Mel and Maureen for the lovely Robins......another smasher to be saved with the rest!! :-D I'm waiting for an Ama*on delivery too........Oh wanted me to get him the 'Master of the Post' for Christmas. It is about the history of the Post Office, so I might have a read after he's finished it.
Mandy I've been searching for the little man in the red hat, but he isn't here either????? I was thinking about Chelsea being an angel today. I bet she was thrilled.....but it sounds a bit chilly for an angel!!l look forward to seeing your pic. you took.

William .Love your new look :-D I always have to edit and make good mistakes...But still manage to make many especially when it comes to grammar.
The lights are on the tree.I have been on at James all evening to help me ,but he kept disappearing. So in the end I said not to bother .I would just get the steps out tomorrow to reach the top......that did it............about fifteen minutes later I caught him doing them.He said the thought of me on the steps was too much and he didn't want any disaster. :-D..I will have to use the 'step 'excuse more often when I need a hand. They need some tweaking but will get that sorted in the morning. I think Fitz might be popping in sometime tomorrow ,so I had better get things done like decorate the tree before he gets here otherwise nothing will get done.
Will say night night now .I am watching the programme about 'Lady boys'
William there was another Lorry fire on the A14 this afternoon(don't think it was Chemical though). Right I'm off xx

OH wears those woolly hats in the cold too William......I think he has a Santa one somewhere. :-S
Yes, I'm always editing too! Old work habits die hard and I've seen some right clangers dropped in letters sent out to the public in the past. OH always gets me to 'quality check' all that he does too.......he's a devil for missing odd full stops!
'No worries' instead of 'that's fine/ok' is a saying that bugs me and 'catch you later', when they won't! lol. I wonder what sort of things the next generation will say.......unless they do everything by text then.

I popped those leaves and berries in your cards girls to give you a little work to do. I dropped some on the floor when I opened the packet and thought I would share it with you so you had to pick them up too or vac them up.

Hi raining here this morning,
Would much rather have the cold and frosty weather, at least it makes you feel Christmassy.
Don't know what we are doing yet today. Oh did say we would go to the garden centre as we need wild bird food. They have such a range of stuff there I usually get a few little pressies from oh. We also need peanuts as a sack usually last through the winter.
I have three more wreaths to do for the order of 5 but they specify any colours???
Glad I am not the only one who does silly things with cards letters etc.
I wrote an answer to an email once and it came back to me!! I don't know how that happened.

Ann that last photo you sent is a real winner :-D :-D
Mel has sent your new email address David :-D
The tree is finished .I just need to pop the Fairy on the top now.I have just loads of batteries in some sets of lights to go on the window sills on the stairs(there are no sockets). Two men have fitted a Water Meter outside the house.I didn't realise that you can choose whether to activate it or not. They must be soaked and cold out there.I think they are just filling in the hole now.
Chester is stretched out by the fire.Even though it is a lot milder today I just felt the fire would cheer the place up a bit. Now time for a bit of lunch I think.I fancy a bit of Cheese on Toast :-D
