Just a quickie.............I am just about at the end of my tether .Been on the phone for well over an hour with the insurance people.Passed from one to another. I have agreed that they send me a voucher for the washing machine to take to Curr** and then to send a Cheque for the tumble dryer and Freezer.I was nearly in tears at the end .I had to pay another £100 excess for the machines.I said I had already paid £100 .Apparently that was for the drying out (building ).I feel quite weak and wabbit now ,and we still haven't had dinner :-S.What a to do !!!! Fed up with the lot of them....Happy days :-D :-D

So your first claim was on the buildings policy for the water damage Jane and now the white goods claim is on the contents policy .......so that's why you have to pay two lots of excess :-S
Deep breath Jane :-S :-D

Evening All.......late aren't I :-)
I've been doing christmassy stuff like making fancy little silvery wire hooks with beads on to hang the baubles on my twig tree.....looks better than paperclips!! Still haven't got a bauble on my big tree though....that's all happening tomorrow!
I'm glad you like the photos.......I'm just a keen amateur William! I don't think there's a secret, unless it's patience. You just have to be in the right place at the right time when the light is good. OH used to get impatient when he came with me and was always wandering into my shots!! Now he knows better or doesn't get to come!! lol. I love seeing other people's photos too, they are all interesting, it's lovely to see little children growing and people's gardens, things they do and places they go.
David that sounds a horrid job for a wet day, but at least you will feel good getting it done. It's quite a job these days going from place to place at the tip to put things in the right places. Reminds me OH has some bags of garden rubbish we need to take.......I do miss being able to have a bonfire.
I hope little Lacey soon picks up Mandy......poor little mites, they can't tell you how they feel at that age. There seem to be a lot of coughs and colds about.....OH hardly ever gets coughs but still has his after a week.
It's easy to get confused with these insurances isn't it, especially when buildings as well as contents are with the same company.....all the bits of paper you get. That was a nice card from Chris's patient. I always send one to the garage that looks after my car!! ;-) I got a nice one from the diabetes study team this year. I wondered if they sent one to all the 800 participants in the study?
I like my pate on toast best, but I quite enjoy it in a sandwich as well.
That's a tricky one Frank. If you were too enthusiastic about Lewis's jam tart there could be another for you next time you go!! :-) I think everyone is rushing about in their cars because of Christmas......it was lucky that Ros had her wits about her. The village was heaving with traffic here at lunchtime........lots of silly driving and cars were being parked anywhere.........I could hardly squeeze between some.
Off to bed now, night night. xx

Jane, can't you get Chris to deal with your Insurance problems? particularly as it's upsetting you so much. I'm afraid I always pass that sort of stuff 'over'; 'I' is much better than me at sorting out shirty officialdom, and I always feel that sort of thing is 'A man's job' they 'bully' 'I' at their peril! I am certainly pleased that I got that dishwasher! I'd forgotten how usuful they are!! washing up has now gone the same way as ironing. 'a few odds and ends' 'occasionally!' Off to get the paper now, crossword day, finish decorating, see to SIL's present, then just pickle about!

Morning Friends,
Oh what a night.!!! Took Ros to the Indian to use the voucher The roads were flooded in the lanes, it's a bit of a walk from the car park to the restaurant, Ros had her umbrella I didn't :-0 :-0 The time I got in there I was soaked. They showed us to a table by the window, overlooking the canal. The WAVES were going along the Canal like being as the seaside. We were the first customers of the evening 6.00 pm. We had drinks and starters, an excellant main course, and far to much of it. I had to leave some of mine, Ros had hers put in a foiled tin, For tonights meal, so we won't need to go out.
My oh My, did it get to me, My old White Friend was there to greet me fout times before seven am . And it hasen't improved much since. Had my imodiu# sandwhich !!! so we will see how it goes. I WON'T LEARN will I.lol lol.
Jane that is a bummer over the excess, Lets face it one caused the other (WET) therefore it should come under one claim. That would be right up my street, dealing with them, WORDS would fly !!!
Heard from a Cousin in law from New Zealand this morning, we keep in touch which is nice. My cousin died a few years back, but she and her new Husband still treat me like one of the family.
Ros is out with Martine ,doing her last bits and pieces
I'm off for a shower and shave,

Morning All,
Lots to do today........need to get a few flowers to do a table decoration for tomorrow with bits added from the garden, then back to doing the decs. OH is on his way to Harrogate!
Liz..........I've always dealt with all the insurances too. It helps when your hubby has a very stressful, responsible job with long hours. I think the ongoing saga had just wore Jane down as she is a very capable person, but we all get a tearful moment at times. I'm sure that, like my hubby, hers steps in if needed. I was surprised you thought it a 'man's job' !! If my bosses had thought like that I'd have soon been out of work! :-S So would they probably.....Equality laws. Glad you are enjoying your dishwasher, I would hate not to have one now, even though you need to have a few more dishes.
Oh Frank, what a night you have had!! Soaked, then up all night.......obviously something didn't agree with you! I hope you soon feel better.
I'd better get a move on......time is flying. :-0 :-0

I have been out early this morning thinking it was going to be heaving.I went to Ald* and it was almost empty !.Then Tes** and loads of spaces in the car park.I expect it will be a lot busier now.
Oh dear Frank......what are we to do with you.No More Indians or Fish and Chips :-D Liz .I tend to have to deal with these things as Chris is nearly always at work .I don't mind really (I'm getting used to it lol).I think last night it had just got to me again. It has been since June that we haven't been straight and running normally.
I have to go and put something a bit warmer on as I have short sleeves on and my arms are cold, then unpack all the laundry that came back last night and do a bit of ironing.

Jane, Perhaps it might be an idea to go in and see your Insurance Co and have a chat with them and sort out the why's and wherefores of your policy? It sounds, from what you say that they are treating this as two separate claims; I would have thought, It would be easier to ascertain this face to face than trying to do it on the phone and less stressful! Heaven's, what a terrible, terrible episode in America, it simply doesn't bear thinking about.

Well, it was much quieter in the village here today as well. The flowers I saw were either very pricey or 'past it' like me, so I am going to be Mrs 'make do and mend' and see what bits and bobs I can find to do a table decoration! I hope it won't be one for the bin after! :-|
Does anyone else think the print font is different on here today.....mine seems clearer somehow? It looks different when you are writing it to what it does when it's posted.

I hate insurance companies, no matter the policy you always end up paying. I never take out the extra insurance on goods either and only have insurance for the things you have to by law.
That was a nice little windfall for Janice, she was due some luck, maybe it will rub off on you now Jane.
Oh dear Frank, sounds like you will have to be more selective with what you eat, is it just a sensitive tummy or the medication you have to take which doesn't mix with some foods.
All the cards are done now, but might do a few extras just in case I've forgotten someone :-0. All the christmas presents are done too, and the decorations are up, although Alfie is having fun with the baubles at the bottom of the tree, keep finding them half way across the room.
Going to daughters tomorrow, we are going to have a little expedition into Kingston, Harry might even get to see Santa if the queue isn't too long, shall stay over so she can go to her Zumba class Monday morning while I stay home and look after Harry and Chloe ............ wish me luck :-0

Emptied all from the garage and took it to the tip.Gave 2 rugs that were in there to a charity shop in Ashington. Never seen so many Ambulances and Police cars in a hurry this afternoojn.Probably some responding to drink driving accidents.
Didn't get a lot of sleep last night. My neighbour started hammering and battering middle of the evening. We turned in about 9.30 and the noise continued. Eventually we HAD to have words withem. The noise stopped but started again half an hour later and continued. I'm not ordinarilly a complainer but I think it was inconsiderate or they're eejits.

Oh yes I meant to say what a nice surprise that was for Janice.......I bet they couldn't believe how much it made!
Maureen, I never take out those extended warranties on things either. There always seems to be a catch if you claim doesn't there and you get your premium increased next time if you do as well!! I'm dreading my next car renewal after the changes that will make us ladies pay more.
I bet Alfie thinks it is great fun now your decs are up. Do the other cats have a pat of the baubles too? I've come to a bit of a standstill with mine as OH has forgotten to get the bag of stuff that weaves into the top of the tree out of the loft and climbing up to do that after will knock the baubles off on the hard floor. I keep telling him he's never handy when he's needed. lol. I think I will just decorate the sides of the tree for now till he's back from Harrogate, then I can still lean against the front of the tree to do the top later :-|I keep telling him to put all the Christmas stuff together as well.......but he does it 'his' way !!I wish my knees would still get me up in the lofty and back again. lol
That's a good job finished David and someone will be glad of the rugs as well. Banging at that time of night wasn't very fair of your neighbour. You'd think they could have picked a better time! We had barking and howling for hours outside our window yesterday morning. Our neighbour had left her little dog out in all that cold pouring rain. She takes him out less and less now as I think he is probably a nuisance to her small grandchildren, jumping all over them as he seems to be very spoiled and does whatever he likes!

Ann I haven't noticed any pink :-S Discussing the 2 excess payments with Chris and I think it is right. The first was for the drying out of 'Building'...under Buildings, and the second for the 'Contents' Hey Ho.Like you say Maureen they will get you whatever lol
David what on earth were your neighbours banging???.How bad too for them to continue so late at night..Are there any Mental Health problems there????
Maureen I'm sure it will be a doddle looking after the 2 little ones :-D :-D :-S.I certainly do wish you luck :-D
Another card today.Thanks Mandy :-D
I have just finished ALL the ironing.Got a back ache now :-S.I just got Chris to spray it with some pain relief stuff and my shoulders.(I think they are hurting from those heavy shopping bags hoisting them in and out of trolley and in and out of the boot. The Ash Bucket is sitting on the Hearth.I meant to clear the grate out earlier.I think I will leave it for now.Chris is busy doing some paper work so I won't disturb him.
My Sister and her OH were delighted with the sale of that Chinese Coffee set. They are struggling financially at the moment .To think it had been up in their loft all these years.
Did we all get Kim's email about the Giggle with Goats? I thought it was so cute.
Tonight it is Rib Eye Steak,Rustic Chips(whatever they are lol).Mushrooms and Peas.James will be missing out on a good old steak as he doesn't know if he will be in or out.So there is a Pizza in the fridge if he wants.

Afternoon everyone,
It's not been a bad day, here had a little sunshine this morning ,we called at the apple farm but all the cox's apples had gone so we got some Tina apples never had them before .
Oh dear Frank, at least you enjoyed the Chinese at the time ,shame you had to suffer for it later . We are off to sisters tonight so we will pick up a Chinese after we leave there ,must remember to order it in a while .
Ann, i some times put a load of baubles in a large bowl and have on the table instead of a flower arrangement , they charge so much for flowers this time of the year and i think they are forced on and don't last very long any way.

I am just sending you a PM.

Heck I haven't even thought of a table dec yet.I'm still trying to decide on a starter . I need to make a proper list now of things I still need to buy.I think it will mostly be fresh things.I also get Lottery Scratch cards for everyone to have when we pull the crackers. If possible I try and get them in the crackers.
Have a nice Evening Mandy.I could quite fancy a Chinese myself.Hopefully I won't over do the steaks. I just had a call from a friend and we are going to go out for a coffee and good old natter on Monday. That will be nice. Tomorrow morning I will go to Curr** and have a look at the washing Machines and maybe reserve one in readiness for when the Voucher comes from the insurance.
Just let Chester out for a tiddle...it feels colder again.

Well I hav'nt got on at all well today but I may get on better tomorrow.
The shop wants more rings so I had to go and collect more moss, holly and yellow evergreen and more fluffy stuff from down the wood. I have mossed three rings and wired some holly and ivy so now I have to do the fluffy stuff and the yellow. That always seems to take ages.
Frank it does seem that the spicy food is what is making you have all the visits to your white friend.
Baubles look nice in a glass vase too.
