Late Afternoon all,
Ros, has been a poorly little thing all day. Tummy ache, feeling sick, and hot. I am feeling 100% again tummy wise. But I expect my insides are like cement after all the imodi##.
Went to the Drs this afternoon, he thinks the cartiilege might have broken down a bit in the back of my knee. I am going for an X RAY at the end of the week, he also wants more blood tests. Thats 9.20 Friday morning., we will go onto the Hospital from there. After that he wants me to have a double appointment to inject into the BONE in my knee. If after this it's still not good, he will have it scaned, and we will go from there.
I am cooking a stuffed loin of pork for tonights dinner, with roasts, parsnips, brussels, cauli, runner beans apple sauce and cheese sauce (sorry Jane) I just hope Ros is up to eating it. If she felt like me, I doubt she will eat it. But we can but try.
Thanks all for the Christmas cards that are now droping through the letter box. Maureen the little robins are lovely.
Pat I bet that walk blew away any cobwebs.!!!
David thaks for that I will have a look,
M el, not only did they bring primroses, there was the Heather and "DOLLY PEGS" Mum swore by them.

Afternoon All,
Thanks for your card Mandy, I've put it with the GR group. :-D
How annoying for your hubby, first trouble with his phone, now his van!! Doesn't help him to get his work done does it and I bet he's trying to get things finished this week. Oh, the dreaded cling film......even if I manage to cut it ok it sticks to itself before I get it near what I want to wrap!!
Yes, Matteo looks a bonny baby doesn't he and hasn't Sofia grown!!
I'm with Ros Frank......blaming OH because I have a red, runny nose this morning!!! lol. I'm glad you are feeling better now. Poor Jan must be worried about her brother. When our neighbour had it it had already spread, but they did manage to hold it back long enough for him to enjoy some lovely holidays. He was only 56 and looked as fit as can be when he was diagnosed.
I've said to hubby some mornings that I feel like Quasimodo too David!! lol. I suspect there could be a lot of 'us'.
Yes, that shooting was a terrible tragedy all round wasn't it. I only know a few of the facts but it seems the boy suffered from Asperger's syndrome which meant he had difficulty with relationships. Even if there had been concerns (which I do not know) imagine trying to persuade a boy with those problems to seek help voluntarily! I don't know what happens in America, or whether it has changed here, but in the past, unless someone was actually displaying psychiatric illness when seen by a psychiatrist and was still the same after being assessed again after a specified time lapse they could not be detained for treatment or required to have any. Realising someone was not of sound mind was the easy bit, getting help was not........until something 'happened'. I doubt his mother would have let him use the guns if she'd thought he might shoot someone and living where guns are the norm, it would be sensible for him to learn to use them properly at a range. I feel so sorry for all concerned.
Gawd, OH wants food.........he must have worms......that's what mum used to say!!

Mandy I hope tomorrow brings you both better luck than you had today. One thing ias bad enough but to have three things go wrong just takes the biscuit.... :-|
Been shopping and spent too much yet again. I did get a few pressies though and oh bought me a bottle of Jamesons.
Had a phone call this morning from friends in the village and they want a wreath so I still have one to make. I finished the other three and took them up the shop this morning. Ann had sold my posy this morning so I should have a nice little windfall when I collect the money.

Evening All I have been in and out ,wrapping, writing more cards and a bit of cleaning.I went with my friend to the old Forge (cafe) down int he village. It used to be the Old Blacksmiths. It was lovely. All christmasy with a nice log burner.
Frank I am so sorry to hear about Jans' brother.I hope there is treatment that he can have if there is no chance ofan op.
Talking of Quasimodo .Chris only said the other morning when I got out of bed that I resembled him :-S :-S.So Ann Yes there are many of us lol
I don't have any email of Fiona's new baby Matteo and Sophia....Ann????? :-D :-D or anyone would you care to pass it on to me please.
Mandy hopefully your bad luck has run it's course now.It is odd how things go like that. When I think of the things here!!!! well I'd rather not now.I still keep looking around to see if I can spot any wet anywhere.I must stop doing it as it is becoming an obsession
Those poor families in America.I can't bare to see it.All the photos of the little children It is just so so tragic it is impossible to understand how the families must be feeling and coping right now.I hadn't realised how many of the teachers had also been killed. I really don't know how they will be able to change gun laws. But something drastic needs to happen.
I just said to James "oh dear just 4 more days at work" I got a look and "I wish people would stop reminding me" I will say no more
:-S
I hope Ros feels better tomorrow Frank .At least you and her have been poorly before Xmas.I bet you are bunged up now lol
Sorry if ~I have missed anyone.I just whizzed through the posts so haven't read them properly.
William your email had no pics with it :-S
Must get on and think about food now.

Have sent you the pics Jane. It's a shame James couldn't have carried on isn't it. Still, hopefully the New Year will bring new beginnings for him!! :-D The Forge sounds as if it was really nice and cosy!
Pat, it's really annoying when you take your car in for one thing and they find something else as well. Just at Christmas when you can do without extra bills. You do well to keep up your Zumba and LD. Does Mocha mind the sea.....I know some dogs can be scared of it.
David, did you get an attack of the 'Quasimodo's' after clearing that garage.......all that bending, lifting and carrying.
Mel, I didn't know you did posies as well........is it a new line?
Oh Frank, poor Ros must feel wretched, at least I just have the sniffles. I hope your knee improves, but I wouldn't fancy the injection! :-S
It's a shame you won't be doing the dog minding now. You'd think they would just be glad of someone helping when they could. It is the same with dogwalking at the dogs' home near here. It is mostly retired people that do it and they want you to specify the days and times you will come, but tieing yourself down is not what retirement is about! If they allowed some to come when they could it would just mean more of the dogs got more walks. :-D :-D
Forgot to say........saw a sweet little dog today in a 'santa' coat. lol

Jane, we watched Making of a Lady and were enjoying it. The only thing I thought was that it seemed to rush to an ending, as if they had run out of time and had to finish quickly. Left a few loose ends for me, but, hey I'm picky when I'm not on the vino calapso ;-)
Like everyone else, I'm truly sickened by what happened in the school in America. There will be lots of debate and arguments for and against guns in a land that was developed on a gun culture due to historic circumstances. What I can't understand is how a 20 year old not only was able to get hold of the weapon, but how come someone didn't hear alarm bells ringing when he bought enough ammunition to do the amount of damage he did? I was an armourer in the RAF and before I went on to servicing aircraft cannons etc, I spent 6 months in the small arms armoury. ALL the station small arms were kept in there, securly locked which included private weapons, pistols and rifles, belonging to officers. Some were things like Luger's which were obviously 'trophies'. ALL ammunition was securely locked away and carefully issued and accounted for. Cannon shell were kept across the airfield in what was known as 'the bomb dump', an underground storage area. I think all of us feel for those families and think of all those little lives, and not so little lives, that were robbed of their heritage to go on living.

Here's a first ME,
Morning all, evening Kim, Where do I start.
I made contact with my daughter, and low and behold she has replied. through Genes. She has tried to send photo's of the THREE grandsons in uniform. Two of which are back in Afganistan. They didn't come through. I was also informed I have a newish Great Grandson (Dillon) don't know when he was born. she had tried to send a photo of him at 7 months old. That never turned up either. My X MIL has also pasted away this year. But again no details. She has passed on my regards to my son, So I have done my bit, YET AGAIN.
Ros is in a poor old way. I was up at 6.30 am My body alarm went off. I knew I had to make an appointment for her at the Dr at 8.00 am. So up I got like a good hushband (that I am) LOL LOL. Emptied the dishwasher, made my tea and sat clock watching. By eight o'clock I am ringing the Drs. Engaged for ten minutes. Finally got through, made an appointment for 10. 10 am Ros got out to the toilet soon after, I told her what I had done, and she said CANCEL it, I feel too ill to go. So she's back in bed., nursing a poorly tummy, and a stinking cold. I will leave her there till she wants something. NURSE FRANK at the ready. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Lara wanted to come up today to bring the baby, I have put her off, and she will ring Thursday to see how things are, before coming up.
I am all showered and shaved, Nurses uniform on with mask, waikting to go on duty. Not sure what time the Doctors rounds are, so better make sure the notes are up to date.
:-D :-D :-D
See you later.
I also enjoyed the Sunday evening play.
