Frank Report 14 Dec 2012 13:52

I see nobody has missed me :-( :-( :-(

We went off to Harveys about 4.15 pm. Got carved up on the M 1 roundabout, how we missed him I will never know.!!

Lewis made us welcome with a cup of tea and a piece of JAM TART. he made at school yesterday. A quick bite and swallow, and it was gone. Thank gawd.

Harvey arrived home about 7.00. I had the veg all cooked and the pie in the oven. Went down a treat. all stuffed to the gills.

When we set off to Harvey's the trees and bushes were full of frost, they looked amazing. When we came home the thaw had set it. And of course this morning it's peeing with rain and blowing a gale.

An old friend rang this morning to say he was popping over to see us. He arrived about 10.00 and didn't leave till 12.45 That put us all out of routine. I didn't have any breakfast or tablets, Ros has broken a nail, and wanted to go to get it fixed first thing, she only went half hour ago.!!!

Must go and get something to eat, my tummy is rumbleing.

AND TAKE YOUR PILLS FRANK!!!!!!!

We had pate' with watercress. oh had sandwiches and I had toast. I like pate' on toast better than in a sandwich.

Am getting on with these three rings. I only have to make 18 bows 12 bunches of holly 12 bunches of ivy with it's flowers wire 9 flowers and cones and do 9 yellow evergreen for the middles. I may take a pick of these ones just to refresh your memory Frank as they are the same every year and I have sent pics before.

Ann, stop kidding us all. You must be a professional photographer. Those photos were SO good. You should either a/ enter a competition - b/ make calendars with them c/ use them for Christmas cards.

Tell us more, they are among the best I've seen, what's your secret?

I think the expression 'I'm good' has come from America, I remember my daughter after having spent a few months out in New Jersey with my cousin came back saying that instead of ' I'm fine'.

When I read your post Frank about Lewis's jam tart reminded me of when my son came out of school once with a pizza he'd made, gave me a piece, then his little friend said 'he's dropped them all on the floor' he could have told me before I'd eaten it :-0

I'd better put my elf's hat back on and get back up to my little workshop :-D

Talking of food made at school.Hannah made soup once.I can't remember exactly what it was but it was.She brought it home in a big flask. It took days to get it out.it had kind of set :-S :-S :-S
I remember cookery lessons(hating them all) and having to get the most ridiculous food home on he school bus.Trying to not spill a casserole in a Pyrex dish.(not easy),and then carrying it about half a mile or so ,including a satchel and PE bag :-S

William Ann could easily be a professional photographer couldn't she.Or frame some up and sell.I just love that last one.I am going to get Chris to print it off for me.

Frank how dare you being rude about Lewis's Jam Tart :-D :-D ;-) ;-) Was it just grit your teeth ,big smile and say '"Lovely"

Mandy I do hope little Lacey is ok.It is not nice when they are listless and doing nothing.A bit worrying I'm sure.

I am sat now waiting for a call back from someone (insurance).I seem to being passed from one to another .

Oh they just rang and said ~I should get a call within the next 24hrs(won't hold my breath) from the loss adjuster people.

Mel I can't imagine eating Pate in a sandwhich......it has to be on toast :-D

Jane Report 14 Dec 2012 17:12

What a day to do that in David :-S.Is it as horrible up there with you as it is here.It take it you have been paying for the use of the garage. So you will save a few pounds now :-D
No logs coming today now.It has been too wet for the chap to deliver to everyone. So it will be one day next week.(good job we still have plenty to get through)
Just had a call to say I have been awarded The GRAND PRIZE......I didn't hang on to find out what it was lol........I wonder what it was???

Little Lacey has a nasty chest infection ,poor little girl she's just laying there not really interested in any thing ,they now have some antibiotics to give her so hopefully she'll soon be better .

The wind is now roaring out there and the rain is teaming down, when we came home an umbrella came flying across the road ,i think some one had dumped it as it was all blown inside out !! probably got blown out of a bin !!

I had a drive over to Atherstone this morning to deliver presents to my granddaughter and her family. It's also her birthday on the 20th so we wanted to be sure all the gifts were there for her special day. I stopped off at Dobbie's World en route then called into Atherstone town. It was bucketing rain and the lanes were starting to flood. By the time I left at 2pm the rain had eased but the back lanes were still pretty flooded. Another thing was stupid motorists who fail to put the lights on. If they are between two that do have their lights, they seem non existant! See and be seen, that's my motto.

Another thing that gets me about our language these days is what's happened to the word - to - ? I hear so many people, especially on TV, say 'ter', instead. Like in "It's going ter be interesting" Call me an old fuddy duddy, but I worked hard to have good English when I was at school, I don't see why I should let it go down the drain now.

Last night at 9pm there was nothing we fancied on TV, so I found a film I had recorded. It was called Return to the Secret Garden. Imagine our surprise when we found the setting was the hall they use for Downton Abbey. It was a good film anyway and we really enjoyed it.

I must need my head examined soing that chore today, but I has to Iv'e been putting it off.The appalling weather was just coincidental.
I could have given some to charity shops but its on the tip now.
Tips are very well organised now differant skips for differant things, seems a high percentage is recycled.

Yes,your'e right Jane, the lock up is rented,so that rental can be spent on some thing else,a valet perhaps?
