Worn out after a hard days workin the tunnel and up the border and out to the table to fill that up with runner beans marrows toms and courgettes. I did notice the old tea trolly I use is listing to starboard a bit. I think it is coming away at the joints, a bit like me!! Ha ha... Also ohoovered through this morning after giving the hoover another hair cut.
My fish in the pond have been laying eggs all day. The poor females must be exhausted now.
Loved the poem Sheila and yes I am another one who hangs her washing outside. I only use the dryer if it is vital and raining hard. You can't beat a nice cold wind to make it really smell delightfull.
Did loads of ironing this morning and the pile is going down.
Oh informed me that my SIL is coming back down on Monday. I thought it was in another weeks time!!

I bet you are all in bed by now.
I went to the club tonight and was greeted like a long lost friend.!!! As the club filled up people came over and shook my hand, it's nice to have been missed.
I've only eaten two sandwhichs today, a Ham and tomato at luchtime and a cheese and pickle tonight. Feel quite full and ready for my bed, after a few pints.
See you in the morning
God bless all.

Come on you lazy heads.
I've been up since 6.00am.. Got out for a wee at 4.00 am and couldn't sleep.
Festival day today. 11 am till 5 pm. Loads going on, so we will have a stroll along the canal, and see what's what. Perhaps have lunch at the Chapel or Pub. then look around the Church and Gardens.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Morning All and evening Kim,
Feel awful today. I have a swollen gum around my top front tooth. Don't know if I hurt it yesterday lunchtime on some rather hard toast and pate' or it is just a gum boil. Not the kind of thing I want when SIL is coming down. I can hardly drink my cuppa. Kept waking in the night thinking I was dribbling!! This morning I have a gap between my two front teeth which I have never had before in my life. Going to give myself a mouthwash now.................................

Morning Frank, Mel and everyone else,
Mel I meant to mention your eye. How is it? You gum must be very swollen if your teeth have separated. Do you think it might be an abcess? So damn painful. A trip to the dentist might be in order. I have been wearing my sunnies for a few days, it has helped a bit and I am still using the drops and ointment. When does your SIL arrive?
Frank you are still not eating much, but good you could have a few pints at the club with your mates.
Our weather here is still horrible with gusting winds, rain and the ferry services have been cancelled in some places. Roofs have been torn off and trees down everywhere. We are safe here, but that roar is very frightening.
My son is down in Sydney at a "gig" and the girl is off to an 18th tonight. She's sprayed perfume all over the place and I can barely breathe. We are going to have Chinese as it's just us two, but OH will have to pick her up at midnight as she has to work tomorrow. I have given the alcohol warning, so I hope she is listening. :-(
Sheila I liked your poem very much. I remember wash day at our house and the smell of clean sheets and towels. My mother would use her copper with a big stick and hand wring the sheets. She must have been a very strong woman. I loved to play in among the washing, but I was careful not to get anything dirty. How old is Beryl again?? I wonder if I should dye my hair pink and get some bows? Your hubby knows when to come out with a funny line to send her on her way, lol. So you and Jane are off on holidays in Sept. How long will you be gone for?
Jane you are right, a week isn't long enough. I suppose it would take Chris a few days to to get into holiday mode. He does have a hectic practice. I think you have sailed through these stressful problems beautifully and coped like a real trooper. Will James look after Chester or will he go to the usual lady who cares for him?
I have already lost a post so I will keep going with this one. I hope it won't be too long before Fiona and Shirl are back with us.
I am off to watch the diving now so have a good day. Hello to Liz, Ann, Mandy and everybody else. 7.26 pm AEST

Morning/Evening All Oh Mel that sounds like you might have an Abscess there :-S :-S.And it just a came up over night? When does SIL come?I hope it doesn't get any worse for you .
Frank .Lazy Heads indeedy.I'll have you know I was awake at 5.30 when the alarm went off for Chris.Mind you I didn't get up then lol. I hope you have a nice day out and about at the festival .Looks like a perfect day for it too.The sun is just burning off the last of the mist here.So I think it will be a smashing afternoon. When I was down the lane with Chester earlier I heard lots of Grasshoppers in the long grass in the field. It was quite a noise .I haven't heard Grasshoppers like that for a long while.
Right ,I am going to hang out the washing ,but also keep popping in and out to watch the diving. :-D
Mandy will you having another BBQ today with OH setting light to the shed ;-)

I think I did it yesteray with the hard toast and it has caused a gum boily type thing in the middle of the roof of my mouth. Makes it hard to swallow. I just had a slice of brown bread and butter with Manuka honey on it and then swilled my mouth with salt water. Now I am thristy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eye never hurt at all and has nearly gone now. It was like a bleed under the skin, thats all.
Enjoy your chinese tonight Kim.

Ros is just back from Tesc#'s with the odds and sods, so I had better go and help .

Afternoon everyone,
Beautiful sunshine here ,lovely and warm, i do find the evenings are a bit on the chilly side though ,i had to put a cardi on last night my arms were quite cold .
Mel, i hope your gum eases for you , it could have been a sharp piece of toast ,those crusts can dig in ,i've done that ,it makes your gum really sore, try Bonje*a like Frank said, it does ease the pain a bit.
You are having some horrible weather Kim, whats happened to the snake ? has the bad weather sent him inside :-S :-S
I haven't heard a Grass Hopper for ages ,funny looking little things arn't they ,really green!!! No, no setting fire to the shed today LOL
We had one of those Daddy Longlegs in the bedroom last night, and it was huge !!! I suddenly saw it going up the wall and thought it was a spider :-S i shouted out OMG and made hubby jump out of his skin :-D got wrong for doing that :-D It then flew into the back bedroom with hubby following and me gingerly following him, it went up onto the top of a cupboard were hubby couldn't reach,so we shut the door and left it , hopefully it will fly out the window and be gone by tonight .

Afternoon All,
Lovely and sunny here but a tad cooler at the mo which I like. OH has gone to a match and I turned down his offer to go to Ik*a on the way and then for him to drop me at McA*thur Glen retail park. They have an M*S factory shop there which I like, but I didn't think I wanted to plod for over 3 hours in this heat till he could pick me up! :-S
My photo has eventually turned up in today's paper. :-D Why are newspapers so obsessed with your age........OH was sniggering when he saw it in print........well for 5 seconds anyway, till I said I'd box his ears!!!
The last 2 nights I have been EATEN in my sleep, 2 or 3 bites on each shoulder!! I heard 1 of those insects that whine the last few nights and I think it must have been that. They've come up in hot, red bumps that itch like mad and I've put some antihistamine cream on.
Mel that does sound like an abcess if it has caused a gap in your teeth. The dentist would probably give you antibiotics for it. Annoying it has happened just now when you have lots to do and visitors coming soon. I don't know how you manage to do all that you do as it is.
Frank, what a nice welcome at the club! It is good that they missed you. I hope you enjoy the festival today.......I bet Ros will be looking at the jewellery .........if she is like me, it will be to get ideas and see how it is made!! ;-)
It was a great day for your barbeque Mandy and I love Chelsea's comment! lol. . Where are you with the spa now? Did you get a new liner.........such great weather for it this last week.
Sheila I think you'd better hold tight onto your shoes. Beryl obviously has her eye on them!! She certainly likes to be noticed doesn't she, pink hair, bunches and bright yellow. Donnie's life is never dull is it.
Reminded me of a woman I saw the other night while shopping. She was with her husband and 2 small children. She was quite attractive with long brown hair, very tanned, but she was wearing the tiniest denim shorts I have ever seen with the leg bits rolled up as high as they could go!! On her feet were enormous, bright scarlet platform Loub*utin style shoes with at least 6 inch heels that she could only move like a carthorse in!! I overtook her and it was so funny seeing people's expressions coming towards me when they spotted her. The men were trying to do a furtive 'double take' and the women were rolling their eyes upwards. lol.
Kim, it must be quite frightening hearing wind roar like that. I hope your madam takes note about the drink, but what happened with your son must have given her a bit of a scare.

I wish I could have recorded the sound of the Grasshoppers earlier. It was certainly something :-D.I wouldn't be surprised if a few hop across the road to our garden . Dear old Chris is up ladders trimming back next doors hedge(only on our side ).He can't do the height as it is too high to get too from here. His T Shirt is soaked through with sweat and covered in tiny bits of Laylandi (?sp).
Kim I will keep everything crossed for you tonight and hope that when your OH picks Miranda up she isn't in the state she was a few weeks back.Trouble with these 18th Birthdays ,they go bl***y mad.(say's me who never did anything like that) ;-) ;-)
Ann you say you have had a couple of bites .I thought I heard one of those midge things too last night. Then this morning I thought I saw a flea.(Chester!!!).Luckily it wasn't,but that old rhyme came into my head One Two Three Mother caught a flea Put it in the teapot and made a cup of tea The flea jumped out Mother gave a shout In came Father with his shirt hanging out.
I now have that on the brain :-S :-S Bet you all will too now :-D :-D
How is that Gum now Mel?

Ann ,do share your pic please :-D :-D.I have forgotten what you are in it for :-S.I know what you mean about the papers always mentioning the age of the person.I have often wondered why they do that. Have been watching some of the ribbon gymnastics. How agile those young girls are .Maybe I should buy myself a long ribbon and have a go :-D ;-) :-S I'm just waiting for the mens diving tonight .I will be shouting for Tom Daley. He did well this morning in the semis . Not so sunny here now ,in fact it is all cloud :-S.But I still have a fan blowing :-D
Frank I hope it has been a great day for the start of the Blisworth Festival and that you haven't toppled into the canal on your stroll ;-) :-D

Yes I hope Ros and Frank have a nice time at the festival.
Still swollen and still a gap. Have been rinsing with salt water a couple more times which seems to ease it a bit. I am after oh's whiskey for tonight!!! That always seems to burst or cure a gum boil.
Have tried to take a pic of my teeth but I look frightfull!!!!

Funny you talking about fleas Jane , DIL found a flea on their cat the other day, they treated the cat and also bought one of those cannister things that you let off in the house in case there were any inside ,the cat sleeps in at night ,while they were waiting for it to work they came here , it was the afternoon we went to Norwich.
No luck with the liner for the spa Ann, they were out of stock when i rang up ,got to try again on Tuesday ,at this rate the summer will be over by the time we get it . Hubby had some nasty bites on his leg a few days ago .
I try and remember to spray my legs at night with Av*n dry body oil spray ,its good at stopping the gnats and flies from biting ,i do tend to lay with my legs and feet out side the covers as i get so hot at night.
I'll have that rhyme going over and over now, i keep trying to think ...was there another verse ?? i thought there was ??
No cooking tonight we're off to sisters later for a Chinese meal.

Mel: Try 'Corsodyl' mouth wash for your sore gum. I get this quite often, and I find it works brilliantly for all mouth infections. I wouldn't be without it! Hope everyone is well.

To adjust the monitor brightness look for adjustment on the monitor itself ......or google adjust monitor brightness plus the name of your make of monitor. I find it too bright too, makes me squint.......I have enough wrinkles without more!!
Shirl your poor daughter sweltering like that in all the heat. I bet they were glad of a good night's sleep at your place. Looking forward to a pic of your yard. I bet you are glad to have it easier to do now.
Off to watch the diving now. :-D
