I'm not looking but the kitchen floor is in the process of being dug and the noise is LOUD!!!!!.I took Chester to the neighbours. He definitely would have been having the screaming abdabs :-S

Frank Report 9 Aug 2012 13:42

Afternoon all,

I didn't have a good time yesterday afternoon. Came over all stange, just wanted to sit quiet.

Didn't eat at all last night, NOT HUNGRY. Didn't have a good night either, Sleept till 3 am then laid and laid. Looked at the clock at 5 am. Must have droped of till about 7. Got up and had my tea.No breakfast or lunch either today. Trying to think of something that will tempt me to eat tonight. Nothing comes to mind !!!!

After my shower and shave, I put some shorts and a T shirt on, with comfortable casual shoes and set of for a Two and a Half hour walk. down the canal, Meet loads of people, I haven't seen for ages.

Everything is under way for the Blisworth Festival at the weekend, Lots of Canal boats arriving and mooring up, with all their wares ready to start selling on Sat/Sun.
Lets hope the weather holds out for them.

I have offered my services to the committee, if there is any small thing they can find me to do. (LIKE TASTING THE BEER)

Going to sit outside with my book for a while, then I might attempt the back lawn, It just won't stop growing.

Took a couple of Photo's this morning, will try to forward them on.

Oh Frank I do hope you sleep better tonight and also feel better in yourself. Now have a nice rest and get yourself back together.

I just watched the last four in the dressage and they were just fantastic.

I was moved to tears with both the english girls but the last one was really magic......90.89 and a gold medal.

Jane Report 9 Aug 2012 16:37

Oh dear Frank.Maybe it is all the bad nights you are having that are making you feel all peculiar.Plus not eating isn't going to help matters. Can you manage just some toast or even a bit of cereal to get the appetite started.
Your pictures are lovely. It just looked so peaceful along t*that tow path.Mind you that'll all change when the Festival starts lol

Well the plumbers are still here.James was desperate for a coffee and drove to Tesc* to get a Cost* to Go one.Jess has a nice looking Mango and Passionfruit iced drink.
I peeped into the kitchen just now and the hole is filled ,but still a pile of rubble on the floor. The water is just back on so I am hoping they might soon be done.I dread to think what the dust and all is going to like out there.I haven't even been in the garage to see what pipework they have done to re route.

I suddenly realised I haven't been to get Chester so I will skedaddle and go and fetch him.

Mel the Equestrian girls were brilliant, just terrific!! OH watched all afternoon, I was in and out as I was sure that if I watched them too much they would feel my nerves and go wrong!! The Show Jumping the other day was pretty good too, so all in all a fabulous performance horsewise!! Spent the day in the garden dead heading, mowing! (It's only a postage stamp) reading and occasionally weeding! Fish and Chips from the village for supper, so NO cooking! Hooray!

I am glad that you got help from that young man for your tyre Ann its a awful discovery
a flat tyre. Very nice of him to offer help a nice reform.

Hope the plumber solves the problem Jane I went out in my nice shoes today to Sophias
who got herself a pair shes lost loads of weight.

I managed to read a few pages back of threads but my computor is very stop and start drives me mad. I got my impression for my teeth done the lab had brokem the bottom impression it needs to align with the top. free scale and polish coming up and some goodies the receptionist said.

Frank I hope you are ok after your dizzy spell.

The weather was nice so I sat outside and fell asleep went indoors looking out the window saw a lovely little robin sat on the back of the swing seat he sat for ages.
the new washer is coming tomorrow and the guy is taking the old one away. I do hope I have not forgotton anyones birthdays and things it is a bit difficult to do things with this coller on.

Mel have you been on holiday or did I misread you. I must admit I like the white background I can see better being so short sighted on here.

What photo of Jane are we looking at.
Mandy I was naughty I came back from the dentist and ate a huge piece of apple pie
smothered in cream.
I went to a pub called the lark after the dentist it printed newpapers years ago and they have the old press. One article read Prince George the fifth snuffed it. made me laugh.
This was Studley.
It is such a tiny little pub I love it.
have a nice day all.

Afternoon All,

Sorry you aren't quite 'chipper' Frank. I hope it soon passes. I love it along your canal, just the kind of peaceful walks OH and I like and NO hills!! :-)

Mandy your baskets are really looking good, beautiful petunias. I hope that wretched cold of yours is clearing up now. This hot stuffy kind of air won't help. The cold winter air seems better for breathing with a cold I always think.

At last Jane......they have arrived and got on well by the sound of it. Have they actually located the leak yet or are they still looking? :-S

Our local paper rang me this morning.......another of my 'reflection' photos is to be published, but on the front page tomorrow this time! :-D It is the one of my sister's cat reflected in my wing mirror when it wanted to join us in the car. Silly me though, I must be losing the plot!! My sister has 2 cats and I got them mixed up.......my sister will be thinking the same when she sees a photo of one of her cats but with the name and description of the other!!!! lol. What am I like.......you can imagine OH having a good titter over it when I told him!! :-D

Mel, I watched the Individual dressage too......superb wasn't it!! Such dainty movements....perfect!!

Just popped in quickly to say hello, should have been packing but have sat out in the sun most of the day reading a book. Better go and do it in a minute as I am off quite early, early for me, tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed this weather will last but think all change by Sunday, never mind, it will be a rest, or maybe not, shall probably be chasing after Harry. Am definitely going to have a dip in the sea even if it is freezing.

Hope the kitchen gets sorted Jane. Will be back Wednesday.

Annx

Annx Report 9 Aug 2012 17:32

I hope you have a nice time in Dorset Maureen and get to have a dip in the sea. The change of scene will do you good, and liitle Harry will love you chasing after him!! You will need to work off all the drinky poos anyway!! lol. Not really after all the hard work on your patio!!

Sheila it restores your faith in people when you get a bit of kindness like that. I asked him if he'd had much support from friends in giving up the drugs. His quick answer, and so very true, was that when you mess with that stuff you don't have friends.

It's nice around Studely from what I remember Sheila. I was a finalist in a driving competition in 1992and 10 of us from all over the country got to stay at the HQ of Ro*er Cars at Studely Castle if that is the same place. We were there 2 days doing obstacle courses, tests and going out with instructors around the nearby villages. It was to the west of Birmingham I think. It was so posh, waiters putting your napkin on your lap and beautiful silver candleabras decorated with fresh greenery and white flowers on the dining table. Twenty years ago....doesn't time fly!! I hope you have as good a crossing as your friend. It is good your neck is a lot better and nice to have some new clothes too. I bet you will have a lovely time.....it is a place I would like to go to.

Meant to say the other day Jane, it was hockey I loved at school, right wing and plenty of running!! lol. You did well to be a shooter in netball, as I just used to get a face full of elbows being a lot smaller. :-S

Jane

Jane Report 9 Aug 2012 18:27

Maureen.I hope you have a great weekend, and you get your dip in the sea :-D

Sheila .I think the pic you are asking about are the tiles we will be having to replace our old kitchen floor ones.

The Plumbers have FINISHED !!!.They thought it would be a 2 day job. They did find a fair bit of water under some pipes .The chap said he had to scoop it out,so there must have been quite a lot.I have just hoovered up and quickly mopped the floor.I will do it tomorrow with the steam mop.I just need to clean down the work tops tonight and then we will order our Takeaway. They all want Indian.I'm not that keen as it's too hot ,so will just have the mildest Korma.
It feels hotter out there now that it did earlier lol.I have all the fans going and have taken off my bra :-D.I didn't like to do that when the men were here ;-)
They were a bit cheeky and turned on our radio in the kitchen and then went off for an hour without turning it off(it's battery).I didn't mind them using it but they should have asked :-S Bad manners I think :-|

Have just been told by James to look on line for the Indian Menu as the one we have is about 10 years old :-S

Annx Report 9 Aug 2012 19:15

Crikey Jane, that's good they have finished!! Now you have to dry out......I suppose the blowers will be quite noisy. :-S

I am absolutely famished despite having lunch with delicious icecream after!! Think I will mooch through the cupboards. OH is in the bath with 'muscle soak' after this morning's gravel riddling. Nextdoor had gone out again this morning leaving us with the barking outside. He barks every minute or so and keeps it up for hours and hours!! I have seen a gadget you can fix on the wall that emits an irritating sound when dogs bark that only they can hear and am thinking of getting one to fix near the front of the bungalow at the side. That is where he spends most time, near our bedroom window, our lounge and the study where OH has to do his reports and notes. It isn't his fault bless him and I wouldn't hurt him but this morning I could cheerfully have taped his mouth together!! :-S

Evening one and all,

Had a quiet afternoon, partty reading and watching the olympics.

I tried to eat a bit of steak tonight, but ended up eating, chips tomato's and garlic mushrooms.

Glad the work is finished for you Jane, now you can start to get back to normal.

Maureen, enjoy your swim, It might be a bit cold, so be careful. The cold water can be a shock to the system.

Ann, I realy enjoyed my walk this morning. Meet a lot of people, who I haven't seen for a long time. I took my time and rested where I could. The Canal Partnership have now completed the "POCKET PARK" where I took the "M ushroom" photo. Thet have put hand rails in too, which helps when you are struggling.

It looks like it will be a bumper day on Saturday. Sunday might be a bit wet.

It is a beautiful evening here, I think I will take a beer and sit in the garden.

Not looking forward to going to bed later, my body is now telling me I won't sleep though the night. So hope there is something good on tele at 2 in the morning.

Jane

Jane Report 9 Aug 2012 20:21

Don't think we will be back to normal for months Frank. We have to wait for the walls to dry out, then get plastering done, then the floor tiles dug up and replaced and the wallpapering .So it is going to be a long haul :-S :-S
My lounge looks like a bomb has gone off in it.I think we will just be living in a mess for somewhile. As long as the leak has been sorted ..that is the main thing.

Still waiting for our dinner........James and Jess have gone to collect it.We will be eating outside as my dining table is covered in all sorts.I have just manged to get a tiny corner to put my laptop on :-D :-D
Poor old Chester is out of it now.He is lying on the floor comatose d in front of the floor fan.I bet his little nose will start twitching when the food arrives :-D

Jane

Jane Report 9 Aug 2012 20:30

Ann I could happily do the same with the 2 Cockerels next door at 4am each day :-S :-S.They have now got a stinky bonfire going ,and we are going to have to eat out there :-S
They burn all their rubbish and never put their recycling bins out.
Food has arrived ,and James has said he can't eat outside with the stench !!!!
