He might shake his head Maureen ,but I bet he will be very impressed with how clever his mum is :-D
Yes what fantastic crowds for the Athletics .We have done so well.I didn't see the Ladies Marathon this morning but it was tipping it down I think :-S

I had another rotten nights sleep again. The same as the night before, awake every hour.I think I might just take something tonight to help get out of the pattern of waking all the time.Poor old Chris was disturbed too with all my tossing and turning and grumbling.I tried reading at 4am with my little book light, but the battery was running down and it was all flickering. So that was no good.I have bags on my bags under my eyes :-|..Not a good look at all lol

Hi All and eveing Kim,

Nice to see our Kim posting and good that Fiona is on new meds too. Perhaps both you girls will now feel much better.

I have been out every day with the three sil's and Stephanie. We have been to Bude, Widemouth Bay, back to Bude where oh took Stephanie out in a rowing boat on the canal and we just sat around and enjoyed the sunshine. Yesterday we went to Hartland Quay and had lunch and walked across the beach. On the way home we went through flash flooding but when we arrived home it had only rained a little.Have been so busy have not had time to even catch up with your posts or even get on the pooter as Heather hada daughter staying in Victoria Oz and was talking to her on the ipad so my pooter could'nt be on. Their phones don't work down here either so they have had to have the connection to the internet.

Found our missingbantam this morning just after the company left she came out for some corn and I watched her for three quarters of an hour till she decided to go back to her nest after having a good preen in the box hedge. she is round the back of the bungalow under a big tuft of very long grass and a cow mumble plant. Hav'nt seen how many eggs she is sitting on yet and not sure what I am going to do with her :-S :-S

Been raining here on and off all day with some very heavy showers just because I have all the bedding to wash. I have done three lots of washing so far. One lot of shirts for oh, one bed from up the caravan andnow I still have one single from up the van and one lot of double from the spare room. Then there will be all the ironing :-| :-| :-S :-S and they are coming back down before the holidays finish and Chrissy is comeing down again with hubby in a fortnight!! :-( :-0 :-| :-S

Oh Mel you could have had a mooch in Hartland for any sign of my ancestors lol. There must quite a few buried there.
So lots of washing then ready for the next lot of visitors :-S.I bet is is nice having them all ...but nice too when they have all gone and getting back to normal.
Sounds like you have had a lovely week though.

We have lovely BLUE sky now and the ground is steaming.I just noticed there are quite a lot of tomatoes ready for picking .About time too me thinks :-D

Chester has at last crashed out on the floor, now the thunder has stopped.Hopefully I may get some peace from him now :-DI think he has exhausted himself lol

Chris is busy working out where and what we will do on holiday. He likes to plan :-S :-S.I said I would quite like to do the boat trip again to the Farne Islands to see the Seals.Shame it isn't the right time of year for the Puffins.I know he doesn't want to do the trip.(don't think he likes small boats). It was quite choppy last year when I did it.We have decided to join the National Trust this year as there are plenty of NT places to visit. We were members many years ago but gave it up as there is nothing around here.
I think I had better start to get James dinner sorted.I can hear him moving around upstairs.Another night working from the Summerhouse. His girlfriend Jess will be her tomorrow evening for a week or so .I must remind him to clean his room and strip the bed(and open the window to get some fresh air :-S

Afternoon everyone,

Pouring with rain here, with thunder and lightening !! ,it was lovely this morning ,really hot in the sun .

Of course we have missed you Mel, you sound as if you have had some busy days out and about with your visitors.

Nice to see you back with us William, you have had a time of it ,hope your all sorted out now and can get back to normal.

Frank, loved the necklace Ros has made ,very pretty ,nice little stand too to display them on .

Maureen , i think your very good having a go at laying the slabs , what matters if they are not perfect ,you have the satisfaction of knowing you laid them all your self :-D i'am sure its a job well done :-D

Think i have a bit of a cold ,woke in the night and my throat was like sand paper ,could hardly swallow !! :-S came down and had a drink and a couple of tablets to try to ease it ,and tried to get back to sleep but i could hear and feel myself keep snoring !! and that stopped me from dropping off again.

Well the caps came for the Spa, we fitted them and it's still going down :-S :-S so the two inner liners have gone to the tip this afternoon ,we were fed up trying to find the holes ,we have decided to buy another inner lining instead .

I think it will be ifits for tea tonight ,some thing from the freezer i think ,with strawberries and cream for pud .

Oh the suns out now :-D :-D

Jane

Jane Report 5 Aug 2012 16:17

So you say iffits too Mandy lol.My Sister always says that when nothing meal wise is planned.Iffits there, they will eat it :-D
It sounds like you have the thunder and lightening and rain that we had a few hours ago.It was much louder than yesterday :-S.What a pain with your Spa.Fingers crossed a new liner will sort it out.AND hopefully you will get some decent weather to use it.Surely we must get some sun and heat in the next 2 months.I hope for the children off school that we get fine weather in the next couple of weeks as they have set up a 'Sandy Beach' in the town and those water fountains that children can run in and out of.
I think I can see more black clouds looming :-S :-S..............Oh and Andy Murray has won :-D :-D..So another Gold for GB :-D

David Report 5 Aug 2012 17:10

Mel,When you've that much washing in one go you'd do your self a favour taking it to the Launderette.
Their washers and driers are bigger and quicker and their prices fare.
You can even leave it and get a service wash.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 5 Aug 2012 17:23

We have decided that the ifits will be Jacket Potatoes ,with Cheese and Coleslaw on mine and salad and Pork Pie for hubby .

I think it was on the news the other day that one of those play areas with the water that shoots out had been closed down because some of the children having tummy upsets !!
They do look like good fun though for the children.

We are really clocking up the medals now :-D :-D

David .Mel lives out in the sticks lol.No Laundry service near her.I'm sure she wishes there was though :-D She would have to travel miles and miles to find one of those.

I've just spent a really enjoyable afternoon sitting in the garden reading my book, with the sun more out than in.

A lot of people moaned about the olympics, me included, but hats off to Seb Coe, it has up till now been a great success. I remember him years ago coming to our office to see the MD, think he must have been looking for sponsorship, he hasn't changed very much.

That's a good one Mandy, never heard of Ifits.

Nice to have you back Mel, glad you've had a good time with your visitors.

I expect Frank is tucking into his roast pork by now.

When are you off on your hols Jane. I'm off on Friday to Wareham but it looks like rain for next weekend. Oh well, you know what they say ...... a change is as good as a rest ........

Jane Report 5 Aug 2012 18:19

Maureen. Not until the 1st Sept.Northumberland again .Same place ,different cottage. There was so much we didn't get to see last year we thought it well worth going back to see places we missed .
How long are you away for?Where is Wareham? I know I have heard of it.Is it Surrey?

More thundery downpours here.It never ends does it :-S :-S ~Blue patches of sky at the moment ,but I can see more big black clouds again in the distance :-S
Tomorrow it will be another day of clearing things ready for the plumbers.I don't know where half my kitchen stuff is now lol.

Evening All,

Yes Dinner is over, all washed up, dried, and put away. Ros took over when I was almost finished the washing up !!!

Glad you had a good week with your relatives Mel, and that you managed to get out and about. Did Mr Mel go with you all ???

Shelia, What have you been upto now. Collar on your neck. !!! I thought you had got over your back trouble. Get better soon, ready for your holiday.

Maureen if you had gone this week, you could have seen the sailing, just up the coast.

Jane, They had one of those play areas on the Embankment at Wellingborough. We use to take Lewis overe there. He loved it, every time you run over the spot, the water just gushed up all over the kids. That's when we had summers a few years ago.

Good on you Maureen, for doing that JOB. Most men wouldn't want to tackle that, so give yourself a gold star. <3 <3 <3 <3

We certainly have had our fair share of rain with thunder and lightning. Very still out there at the moment, but I think more rain on it's way.

We should all be a very proud nation. Not only from what the competetors have achived, but what we have done as a Country., to put on such a wonderful Olympics.

Sheila .It is Northumberland we are off to.Loved it so much last year we decided to go back again...No ferry crossing like you have to do.I hope the sea is calm for you :-D :-D
I think I will be turning off the computer now .I just need to clear up the kitchen....that is normally Chris's job ,but he has gone to bed!.I know when I go up he will be snoring his head off with his specks on and ear things in with music blasting .I will have to peel his specks off and pull his ear thingies out turn off his I player or whatever it is called and just say "Turn Over" so he is not on his back .That is the only time he obeys me lol :-D
Night Night x
I might watch a bit more of the Olympics.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Not nice here today as it is dull with grey clouds. A little rain too on and off.

I don't like these white pages as I find them very hard on the eyes and have trouble reading the posts. It seems to take me ages to get through them all.

I had a very itchy eye yesterday late afternoon and had a good old rub of it. When I looked in the mirror I had burst a blood vestle ? in my eyelid and have a lovely black eye now from the corner across the lid. This morning it has spead a bit more so I thinjk I shall give shopping a miss for today and get some more washing and ironing done.

I went up the tunnel yesterday to water and picked more runners courgettes and cues, a marrow which is more like a courgette plants really and three kinds of tomatoes. All washed and ready to go on my little table outside. Just have to give the basket I put the cougettes in a lick of paint. I like this one as it has a high back and low front and I can stand them on end in it as they have to go on the top of the table and it is'nt covered.

Maureen when are we getting pics of the patio please?????? :-D :-D

Mandy how annoying about the spa but it dos'nt sound like the weather has been really good enough to use it anyway. More Expence.... :-S

Now Now Kim, I told you to take it easy :-D :-D :-D Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow, take care.

Mel, I agree with you about the page colour, I did leave a note on my posting yesterday. If they read it, they might ask everyone what we think, instead of just changing it. !!!

Managed to get the front lawn cut and trimmed this afternoon, and plant a couple of pouches for the tree stump. We have just had a down pour, with thuinder, now the sun is shining, Will have to look for the rainbow.

How did things go today Jane, Did they get started.????
