Hi all a quick line before my youngest gets back from picking up her fiancee and decides she needs the laptop again.

Had the year old today and managed to shop in Tesco.

Snow kept falling today very cold but hopefully it won't settle here tomorrow or overnight . Hubby up at 5:00 in the morning so wish it to be clear here.

Have a good evening all

Linda :o) XxX

Pauline I am not working on my family tree at the moment.in fact not done any for some time but I have been searching for one person and this has brought all these others out of the cupboard. I am pleased about it but now have put my writing aside to try and sort this other out. I have piles and piles of paperwork sitting on my desk waiting to be dealt with I hate that as I get panicky worrying if I will get it sorted. then I will get a good day and clear a lot of it up feel content then. then it all starts again. I cannot do much at night as I cannot see the keyboard clearly I am waiting for a desk lamp to come in the shop had sold out but if we are going to have cold weather then I will be able to spend time on doing some more clearing up.
My sister is 73 tomorrow she doesnt look it even though her hair is nearly
white she gets about like a 40 year old goes out nearly everyday I dont know where she gets the energy from.

she a lovely sister I could not get a better one bless her.

Hi Everyone,

I guess we are ALL very busy these days.........Christmas is coming !!

So nobody has the time for our usual chats......never mind I'm sure we will be back after Christmas ,with all our Christmas stories.

Pete's got the Flu, and don't I know it, he just cant cope !! LOL

He's off to bed now something I have been telling him to do these last two days, but NO he insists he will carry the burden ....OH Dear its so sad to see him ........BUT he wont listen to me ...!!

I'll probably get it soon ,but I know that I WILL take to my bed no problems !.

Going to get the patient a hot cup of lemon........

Hi Mo
No Sheila is not coming to me tomorrow she has the carol service at her church in Golders Green in the evening/ I am pleased she isnt as I would worry about her getting home in the snow if we have it and we seem to be going to according to the forecast she usualy does come on her birthday and we go out for a meal. but I go and stay with her a lot during the summer months. there is only her and me left in our family Mum and Dad and grandparents Uncles and Aunts have all gone we do have cousins but done see much of them.

There not my Maskells Shelly thanks for looking though.I will have a look for them on the Ancestry as soon as I get all this other stuff out of the way. perhaps they are Mo's ? I dont even know where mine came from I know they are related to Horwoods and Sheldons

.
I do know that the Campbells came from Ashford in Kent and Sheffield .
Mums family were always close the Horwood there were hundreds of them started in Mells in Somset settled in Willesden Chelsea, and Blackbird Hill Wembley

well I might be going to bed early tonight as I am feeling tired I think the cold weather makes me want to hibermate.

It is not snowing am I lucky ? we had it last night ti started about 9.ish and it got very tthick it was like a snow scene from a christmas card. my friend across from me emailed and said I am still going to get our fish and chips tomorrow

I would be pleased if you would look next time you go Shelley.
My sister sent am email this morniing to say the History Achives and museum received the CD of Dads and asked for any photos of him she scanned them off and then realised i have one it is only small about 3 inches x 2 1/2 of him in his whites building a house in Cricklewood. with one of his men. so I took it out of its little frame and found he written on the back the name and address of where he was working and also it was dated 1948 so I am pleased about that.

Morning All,

SUN is SHINNING here in Devon , but it is COLD.

Rita, I think I would have a nice little chat to your neighbour when she comes back , you'd thought she would have had more sense in that sort of housing.

Going out today, but I don't want to , I feel nice and cosy at home, but I have a lovely friend that needs her putta fixed and hubby said although I dont feel like it I have to go and help her because she so needs her putta to work as she has a grandson that she raised that is in the Army and he is on the front line in Afghanistan and they communicate on Face book .
So that's important so after lunch that's where we will go .

Off for my bath.....

Marilyn Guess what she came back her flight from heathrow was cancelled due to bad weather she if booked for Monday at the same time she left her cases there as it was packed at the back and they said they would keep ,it for her till monday.
while she had gone one of the gardners called on me and asked permission to take one of the bags of salt as one of the estates had none (we had five deleivered only after I had asked her five weeks running to get it in before the weather changed.) she fianlly gave in so we have three bags in the cupboard the others in the salt bin outside anyway he phoned the head office of this estate and asked them said the estate manager was on her way to Poland they told him to take it. I didnt know till Eddie came and told me she was here when they asked me for permission. they said when the estate got some they owed us a bag of salt. it a couple of miles away from us and we brought the salt ourselves l told her to tell them they could not take as it was ours and they had no business she said its nothing to do with her she is offically on holiday.
what a laugh. and to think I contribute to her wages,

GRMarilyn Report 18 Dec 2009 12:11

Rita,

Lets hope she stays in Poland and get someone that needs the job here to do a better job of looking after you all.

But I have to tell you this I went to my supermarket this week and we have a Polish Lady on the tills, and I make a beeline for her every time as she is the quickest and most pleasant lady in that store, whilst I was at the till a floor manager came over to give her something and I stopped him and told him that this Lady needs to train all your staff ,as the rest are from the snail family and he agreed with me and said yes I have been told that before.....then he said I will let it be known up top !! but would I go to the service area and fill in a form to head Office about her , I wish I had shut my mouth as It was bedlam at the service area and I had to fill in two forms !
It took me 15mins extra ,more than I wanted as I had my granddaughter with me and she was getting hungry.
But I hope she does get acknowledged because she is good.

Rita

Rita Report 18 Dec 2009 13:46

That was a kind thing for you to do Marilyn I think when you get good service you should say how you appreciate what they have done and about their services as you do if they don'nt give you good service I alway think praise where praise is deserved. our estate manager is young in her early thirties but I am sorry to say she isnt much good at this type of job..

I had my fish and chips for my dinner my friend went and got them cod an d chips really good £ 3.40 they do really lovely crisp batter and the fish is cooked really nice.

I was looking at an email I had from my sister about the Campbell family we had found living with my Grandmother who was the daughter of a McCallum Jean McCallum and I was reading some of the wedding certificates and found that two of the witnesses to Grans and George Horwood marriage were two we had looked for Hobb.s how about that for luck. trouble is when you do family research you forget the names on the marriage certificate who were witnesses this has happened a couple of time to me so all you out there double check your marriage certificate on your relation and see if they marry up good one that isnt it. Marry Up.
