Afternoon Everyone

Lovely day here to when the mist cleared and the sun came out .went to B&* for a new mop and sweeping brush and a draining board,
OH wanted more bits and peices for fixing another light in the cupboard where I keep my steps and mops/brushes,
I bought a new lamp shade for my bed side table lamp the other one was showing burn marks I think the bulb must be too strong.

For mothers day , daughter no 2 down loaded some 1950 laundry posters from the internet,( she can't afford to buy me one.) they look great printed on A4 size Glossy photo paper and I have put them in clip board frames and will put them up in the back porch, it's quite fun to read the adverts about TIDE, DUZ (wonder if they changed it to DAZ) will make a change from flower and plant pictures.

Fiona ,I think that is a lovely Mothers day pressie.Never heard Daz called Duz before.
It's a bit noisy here.I can hardly hear myself type.Power washer going full blast out there :-S.Our patio is about the size of a house or 2.Chris is in his waterproof trousers lol

Mandy ,I hope you have nice evening and that BIL's arm is ok.Good job you have your new fridge .We don't need any more Fires or smoking electrical goods lol :-S

Janice has been out in the car with her OH ( not that she really wanted to go)
She has been up since 3.30am with her knee. She did say the flextion is ok but very painful. She is a bit weepy too ,but I think that will all be due to the anesthetics and drugs. She is probably doped up to the eyeballs lol

Jane I have e-mailed you

Annx Report 24 Mar 2012 16:59

Silly me Mandy......of course the clocks go forward, not back like I wrote......I knew it would be lighter nights as well. I hope your BIL is doing well after his operation. I hate it when electrical appliances just don't seem right!! At least you have peace of mind now and a nice clean fridge. :-D

It sounds good if Fitz has managed to walk about a bit.......will help with any wind that is still trapped!! They inflate your insides when they operate.....trouble is they sew you up with the gas still in there!! lol

Janice must wonder how much more of this pain she has to suffer before she feels she is improving.....it would get anyone down I think. A change of scene riding in the car on such a lovely day should lift her spirits a bit. Chris is good getting on with the jetwashing.....don't think ours will be done unless I do it. :-( It's time I showed him how it works I think :-D.

Fiona it is nice you are getting some good weather too......I love your daughter's idea for those poster pictures.......Duz doesn't sound as good as Daz does it.

Could someone send me Fiona's pics as I didn't get them?

Got up in the loft yesterday and brought down the garden table and chairs, was very good last year and bagged up all the screws for the legs and taped them altogether still sat for about an hour trying to figure out how it all went together but am feeling very pleased with myself that I have eventually screwed the legs on the right way. Have been enjoying the sunshine today mostly sitting out there reading my book but I did manage to pot up the plants I was given last Sunday.

Now I've seen the picture Ann I realise what a caged beed necklace is, it looks great.

David Report 24 Mar 2012 17:20

Yes Ann,(and others).Ellen's always has an interesting true story about that hospital.
Many times she finished a shift punched, nipped, scratched. All in a days work.Down the years there have been a few stabbings, some fatal

Part of the hospital was a large field where crops were cultivated. This was sold many years ago and there are now private house there.

One funny true story I recall was plumbers brought in to install bath rooms in a part of the hospital. When the bath was filled with water the weight caused it to go through the floor boards.

Fortunately there wasn't a patient in the bath at the time.

As for the key Ellen reckoned it was as old as the hospital.

Come in as it has turned a bit chilly out in the garden now.

Got all the path cleaned up and now there is not a bit of weed or gras on it at all. Just started on the squares of pavers that go up to the caravan and oh told me to come in as it was getting chilly.

Just caught up with your posts.

Good that everyone has this nice weather today and for the rest of the weekend we hope.

Jane did the black come off your patio?

Jane

Jane Report 24 Mar 2012 18:39

Not really Mel .It still looks manky :-S :-S.I think we will just have to ignore the dirty looking flagstones.(why have I called them flagstones???)That name just came into my mind,Just plain concrete slabs really.

Evening all,

It's that time again "TAKE ME OUT" just like a meat market, loads of strag end lol lol

You are an early bird Fiona. Will do some later, I bet I forget one or two. Ros's car clock will be right agaion tomorrow, we never get round to changing it !! What a novel present, I bet they will look good in the back porch.

While I was at the pub lunchtime. Ros went to Tesc#. Saw a wing of skate (which I love) and bought it for my tea tonight. She had a plaice fillet. The skate wing was the biggest I have eaten. It was almost TWO POUNDS in weight. I have an enormous frying pan, but it stuck up at the sides, we made a pan of fresh chips, I was totally stuffed after eating it, No supper tonight. Just a couple of beers.

Got somw more duck weed off the pond this morning,if it stays dry tomorrow I will water the veg patch and bags of potatos

Have you all had a nice day in the sunshine, I have been in short sleeved teeshirt all day, very warm at lunchtime, but turned colder this evening.

Did you see BGT tonight. Those 16/17 year olds were something different. I was so pleased to hear the lad say we came as a duet and we are staying a duet.

See you in the morning.

Goodnight God bless

Morning All on this lovely first real day of Spring. When You wake to a morning like this it makes you feel good to be alive.

Bit achey though in the hand department after useing that scraper thingy between the bricks on the path. So today I may go in the tunnel or I may not!!!

What is everyone else doing today??Anything exciting or different?

Fiona

Fiona Report 25 Mar 2012 09:43

Morning Mel

Suns just starting to come out here, I'm off to church this morning , though I love my little granddaughter to bits it's was nice not to have them to stay last night and to wake up this morning and take things easy instead of "come on Gran lets march or dance or go outside & kick the ball and thats at 7.00am :-D

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Jane Report 25 Mar 2012 10:25

Morning Fiona ,Mel and everyone.
Fiona ,I don't blame you for feeling grateful for a peaceful start to your Sunday lol.Dont think I would fancy marching or dancing at 7am :-S

Not a lot going on today Mel .I have a feeling there will be a bit of ironing :-S
I must go and get some nice flowers for Fitz's OH as it is her birthday tomorrow.Fitz was hoping he would be home for it ,but that is not to be.

Frank I thought that couple on BGT were amazing. What a belting voice that young lad had.He obviously lacks confidence big time ,so hopefully this will give him a massive boost and he can put 2 fingers up to all those who he says bully him.
Not quite so foggy this morning and I don't see any sign of the sun yet :-S
It feels a little on the chilly side still.
I think I will warm up with a coffee and then go for a shower.

Morning all,

Cloudy and cool here, sounds like you are having some lovely Spring weather.

Have been feeling lousy, a bit of fb but not much else. A friend asked us to her house for lunch again, but had to decline. Not much fun these days, but I'm still ticking along.

Jane sorry Janice is having a rough time with her knee. I hope she gets some relief with the physio. It is such a long process. Glad that Fitz is up and about. The gassy bloated feeling is horrible and such a long wait for his test results. Do you think he will be home on Tuesday?

The cat is yowling at the back door. I'd better go and let her into the garage. OH is huffing and puffing here as her noise bugs him. Then a cuppa I think and some tv.

Sorry not much to add as nothing happening this end. Take care everyone and enjoy your day. 9.37 pm DST

Frank Report 25 Mar 2012 13:09

Evening Kim, and morning to the rest, Sorry Evening shirl.

When I had my stroke, Ros had to buy me PJs Shorts and tee shirt type. I now use the shorts in the Summer for the garden. Ros has just threatened if she sees me in them again (i've got them on this morning) she is getting the scissors to them. !!!! So it looks like they are on their way out. :-( :-(

Oh what a lovely surprise we had this morning. Our friends John and Corolyn have invited us down to Hastings for a long weekend in April Thurs/ Sunday. Their place is on the sea front, so will be able to wake up to the sound of the waves, and nice walks. We will eat out, to save fuffing around shopping and cooking. What a nice break it will be for us both. No Cooking for me. GREAT.

Chill in the air this morning, but should get warmer later.

The flow from the pond isn't great this morning. Will need to lower the waterfall, and get a longer piece of pipe from the tank.

I have the first signs of green from my raddish's so the won't be long. Conrad will be delighted, he eats loads of them.

Ros is doing the ironing, I have prepared dinner. Roast leg of Lamb, New potatos, carrots, brussels, cauli, roast parsnips,

Sorry didn't know it was afternoon.

See you later.

I have been told to cut down the hydranger by the front door today by oh.

I have been meaning to do it for weeks now and so has he!!!

Don't think my hands are up to much else today after yesterdays scraping of the pavers.

I have been meaning to tell you we have a Kestral out the back. I have been trying to get a good photo fo him but he is too far away all the time. Yesterday he was hovering quite near to us sitting outside but he was behind our big beech tree at the end of the garden. when he got to where I could have taken a photo I could'nt see him on the lens of the camera and then he flew away.

We have hedgehogs somewhere in the garden as there is loads of poo over the lawn on the west side, the BIG lawn.
