Yes Mandy ,she will still have that machine at home. She has to rent it :-S.use twice a day I think .
Frank ! I'm often called a Dopey Drawers :-S I know I am lol.But I'm a nice dopey drawers :-D :-D :-D
Baked potatoes all cooked ,just need to do the bacon, asparagus, pea and creme fraiche mix to go with.Chris has just said he won't be ready to eat for at least another half an hour :-S :-S :-S.He is busy doing some work stuff on the computer.

What did we do before computers???????? I know my Dad spent hours on his Ham Radio in the garage with his tap tap morse code thing. He used to be in touch with all sorts of people. He started doing that back in the 40's,and when he became ill with Motor Neurone Disease it was a lifeline for him.I discovered all his notebooks and diaries after he died and cards he received from people he had been in touch with. After hanging on to them for years I gave them away to a local Ham Radio Society.

Just a short 'Hi' to everyone, busy busy busy here. Longer days and sunny too are keeping me away from the computer. Have to grab it while it's here.

My wife was telling me about someone in the past who had rickets. She said - 'You know what Rickets, is don't you' - so I replied 'Yes, those little blue bags you used to put in your washing to make them white'. Now why did I get a jab in the ribs???

Have you all noticed the posts are nearing number 1000? Is there going to be a celebration when someone puts Post Number One Thousand on here? There ought to be a prize, or would that be cheating. Anyway you look at it, it's a wonderful thing that this thread has been going so long - and three cheers for the originator (won't mention name, she might not get through the door!)

Oh yes, while I think on. Carmel had a copy of 'Call the Midwifes' book from her daughter for her birthday. I asked her how she was getting on with it. She said fine, but the dialogue with the cockney characters takes a bit of getting used to. I just told her to pretend it was me talking, she been married to a Cockney for 33 years now!

Still waiting on replacement cards from the aftermath of Carmel having her purse stolen. Need Tesco cards now and replacement 'Cared For' card, there seems to be no end to it.

Off to do something else now. How everybody has a lovely weekend and the weather stays fine for you all.

Evening Folks,

Frank and Mel will soon have their gardens all done at this rate! OH did quite a bit of weeding today.....just the bottom border left in the back garden, but more to do on the front. He's also cleared the heap of soil the electrician spilled over the area I'd cleared to do the rock wall around the waterfall, so it looks like I shall be starting that tomorrow.I bet that will make my back play up......must find my big leather gloves for doing that too.

We had fun doing our caged beads this morning, you could have heard a pin drop with the concentration when we started our cages! Then the hedgehog lady started talking about the fundraising and what different people did to raise money for them. I did have a chuckle when she said one lady did makeup for the hedgehogs............I knew what she meant, but couldn't help the visions of 'hedgerow green eyeshadow and slug lipgloss'. lol

I took 2 tops back to M*S this afternoon..........came back with 3 more. :-D I wonder how many of those will go back!

Oh Mel, lucky you caught it before there was to much damage done , i bet that smoke was toxic !!! plastic stinks !!

Glad to hear Fitz is doing well.

Ann, another master piece , and this one has a chain i noticed , you pick some pretty beads to work with . :-)

Annx

Annx Report 23 Mar 2012 20:18

Aaaahhhh That brought the 'Fireman' out in him Mel! That plastic burns with horrid fumes that catch your throat and are quite toxic I expect. Dinner a bit delayed now then?

It's good Fitz is off the oxygen now Jane, it will be great for him to be rid of the mask as they are not that comfortable and make your face sweaty. I suppose it will be the drains out next and he will feel more 'human' then. It is good to hear he is in good spirits, just a pity he has to wait 3 weeks for those results.

All the beads and the chain on this one were from a few different charity shop buys Mandy. Next week's will be tricky, back to the thread again to do a spiral rope necklace or bracelet.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 23 Mar 2012 21:18

Dinner was fine thanks Ann. Not really late as I had the potatoes on and boiling before I put the cabbage on. That was the mistake. The front left hob on my cooker has'nt worked for years and I turned it on the other day and it worked fine so I have been using it. Problem came when I turned the back double hob on which is the one I usually use.

Oh asked me for a metal fish slice!! I had'nt got one but his window scrapper was on the windowsill in the kitchen and I said use that. It worked fine and there is no plastic left on my glass hob.

Gosh I do ache. Hope I am not too bad tomorrow as I want to start on the tunnel.

He wants to do a bit more of the garden tomorrow, but I said he ought to have a break. I think it is a case of see how much worse the aches are in the morning!!

Night all, hope the sick ones get a good rest.....xx

Morning all as last,

Could not get comfortable in bed last night, tossed and turned. kept looking at the clock. 1.30/2.15 3,30/4.45 and so on. Got up at 9.00am feeling like a wet week.

I'm very pleased with what I did yesterday, so today NOTHING. and it might be the same tomorrow. Thats one good thing about retirement, you can do it when you want. Hope the Bloo## dogs don't start barking all day, like they did yesterday. I shouted "SHUT THAT BLOOD# DOG UP" and it did the job. misserable old sod, aren't I ????(VICTOR MELDREW)

Glad you didn't have a dissaster Mel, Been there, got the teeshirt. Had three major dissasters in last 30 years. House fire, and two kitchen fires. It's a good way to get a new kitchen.!!!!.

Hope you all have a nice weekend gardening, ironing, setting fire to things :-D :-D :-D etc. etc.

wooden floors...I am hoping Mocha doesnt go back to chewing a mat as I now want to lay it down again....I may go in the garden and read my book for a little while and enjoy the sunshine..I cant sit doing nothing..So I will catch you all later.Afternoon All.

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine where you are. Had abusy 4 hours in the charity shop yesterday morning then went hunting for a plastic mat to put on the drainer.Bought Mocha a new leather collar and lead and also a harness...It looks very big on him still but it was the smallest size. Once the struggle was over with him and me..(trying to put in on while he chewed a section ) we then went for a walk today..I felt happier that he wasent chocking himself as we walked..

Hubby started the patio cleaning late afteroon and finished it off this morning..Kitchen mats have been washed and I will wait a little longer before I wash the floors..I have a kitchen diner and a front room with

Lovely necklace Ann that you made..Do you sell them afterwards.?

Afternoon everyone,

Lovely sunny day here really warm , hubby has got the wooden chairs and table out of the shed so we''ll be able to sit out ,we've been using the plastic ones that we use when we've been in the pool ,will have to get the parasol out ,the suns so bright it makes my eyes water .

Had to buy a new fridge this morning , the old one seemed to be running all the time and we didn't fancy that over heating and catching FIRE !!!!
We've been using the spare fridge in the shed ,but it's one with the ice box at the top ,i like the larder fridges ,more room in them .
Luckily they had one in stock so hubby and son went and picked one up and it's now plugged and chilling , hubby said he'll take the old one to the tip later .

It's rotten when you have a bad night Frank, hope you have a better night tonight , and we put the clocks on an hour ,so we get an hour less in bed!!

Thanks for reminding me Ann, we need our Aircon re-gassing , must remind hubby !!

We're off to sisters tonight ,see how BIL is ,they usually come to us when sisters not working ,but BIL carn't drive after having his arm done .

This is lovely .All the windows and patio door wide open :-D.Birdies singing their little hearts out and nice sounds of spring.I can hear a lawn mower in the distance .

Ann it is next Saturday I am off to London to the Meet.It will be nice to see some of the people again from last year.Especially dear Foggy.I have just been out to get something for the raffle.

I rang Fitz this morning to see how he is .Poor old sausage has had a dreadful night with trapped wind!He said it is unbearably painful. But he is up walking a bit which is good.

Frank I hope you have a peaceful afternoon with no barking dogs to annoy you.Maybe you can manage forty winks.

Pat it is patio blasting here later.Chris has gone for a power nap.He says he is feeling weary. He has had the week off from Surgery (except this morning)
but every day he has been to meetings or doing appraisals on other GPs.
He was up at 5.30 this morning
I bet Mocha looks good in his new collar and harness :-D

I am doing duck Breasts with a marmalade, orange, and sherry vinegar and pinch of Chilli flakes tonight.I have never cooked duck before or even eaten it.So I'm wondering .....will I like it?????.Not sure if Chris will either. But it was him who bought the Duck so its his fault if it's a disaster lol

No Kim again .I hope she is not too poorly.
I will Janice a ring later and see how she is doing today and what kind of nights sleep she had.
