They take a lot of doing Mel, some are really elaborate !!! plus the wool would not be cheap , he'd need a big size .
Just watching ,Just Henry on ITV, Sheila Hancock is in it ,and she's wearing a hair net !!! i remember my nanny wearing a hair net !! wonder if any one wears them now or even if you can still buy them :-)

Mandy, I sat and watched that too. We had a gas cooker just like that one and a very shallow earth and ware type sink in front of the kitchen window, with the cold tap sticking out of the wall. Marvellous how things come back to mind. Thats over 68 years ago.
Not sure whats in the picture, it could be the reflection of the lights around the conservatory, or the bell in the window. Will have to have a look.!!!
Dinner ended up fine, we both cleared our plates.
Mel, Why is it that Garden Centres never seem to get everything just right with their meals, It could be the shear number. I can just imagine those stuffing balls :-) :-)
Kim, Do hope you are allright. My thoughjts are with you. GOD BLESS.
Where's LADY JANE, waiting for the maid to turn down her bed, and make her a night cap. <3 <3 <3

Well MIL and FIL seemed to enjoy themselves and tucked into everything. I decided to leave the table folded for just the four of us, so we put some food and the pickles on a side table. OH had a nice little picture frame in his cracker, so I'll see if he will let me have it!! His hat didn't stay on long, he reckons they are too small!!!!!!! No comment!!! ;-) ;-) Shirl, FIL had both lenses today.........don't think he had his hearing aid in though. lol
Ros's twigs look very nice Frank....I see she has some birds on hers as well. Mandy, it does look like a Marquee doesn't it, but I think it is a reflection of the curtain swags. When OH sees me knitting (once in a blue moon!) he often asks me to knit him a jumper. As you say with big sizes it takes a while especially if there is any pattern in it. I don't think OH would give it much TLC though.....there would be 'pulls' in no time. lol :-0
Mel, my turkey can look a bit chewed if it is very, very tender and won't carve easily!! lol I hate it when you get stuffing like that though......when we eat out OH usually has mine anyway and any pigs in blankets. They never seem the same as home cooked. Turquoise is a colour I like a lot. Newberry Fruits.....OH loves those too......I will look out for some for him in the week.
Another trip to the garage tomorrow.......the front side light the other side to the one replaced last week has gone now!! MORE EXPENSE!

Ann, hubby always says the paper hats are to small for him and never keeps his on for long , i tell him its his big head :-D at least the hats are made of foil now ,where they used to be thin like tissue paper !! It's nice to see people tuck in after you've gone to the trouble of making a good spread , nothing worse then picky people and having loads of food left !!
You could knit OH a sweater ,it would keep him warm when he goes on his football trips :-)
Fiona, your cake looks good ,pretty tree too, i see you have the guard in front too that's a good idea ,Katie keeps taking things off their tree , but so far she hasn't touched mine !!
Hubby has been helping me wrap a few more presents ,ones that need two pairs of hands ,he hasn't got a lot of patience when it comes to wrapping , he gets DIL to buy his presents for me ,then he asks her to wrap them too!!!!
Off to bed now , Night Night .

Hello to everyone. Waiting on my blood tests results - didn't receive a copy as I usually do. Weather is dull and wet and cool again. OH did some Christmas present shopping yesterday and got some nibbles as well.
Shirl I do like your new photo and thanks for the recipe too.
Jane I do hope these young ones get their act sorted. They have a lovely baby to consider. He is so sweet. Glad you got yourself "charged" up before the phone call. My daughter listens to everyone else but me and it's always the same advice.
Off to the couch, news time.
BBL if I can. Safe and happy day everyone. :-) :-) :-)

Morning Kim and All,
Kim I hope you are feeling a bit better today.
Dull and rainy here today. The chickens will hate it. Their run is so wet and muddy and they take it all in their house! I need to go round there and clean them out but I can't move the wheelbarrow which has last weeks muck in. It has filled up with water and I have emptied it twice or three times already but the field is so muddy I can't push the barrow through it. Oh will have to do it for me.
Ann love the pic of G in his Christmas hat. Mine won't even get that far!!!! Once at a ringers Christmas dinner we decided everyone was to wear a Christmas hat I had bought one of those joker type hats for oh in red and green with points on top and bells on the ends!! I had father Christmas ear muffs under a gold sequined father Christmas hat and red reindeer wings on a alice band withgold tinsel on the bottom. Anyway oh would'nt put his hat on but Lester had come without a hat so he wore oh's and then I looked round and oh had one of those glitter wigs on. He had bought it himself when he went into Holsworthy!! It still only stayed on for a little while and he gave it away to someone the same night. It was surprising just how many different hat were there.
Fiona lovely pics of Sophia's pics!! your tree and cake. I like the caterpillar best. It looks just like a cake they sell in Morr*sons.
Waiting to see if anyone turns up today to connect us up!! Not a word have we heard over the weekend.
Have caught up with your posts yet.

Afternoon Kim
Morning Mel. Dry at the moment but cold , just given the builders a cuppa & biscutes, all is quiet, a bit of peace before they start drilling and hamering again.
Ann Great photo of you all enjoying your meal, love the hats, my OH wears his party hat at christmas dinner, I try but they are too big for me it usually falls down around my kneck like a colar(sp), I have a red santa hat I used to take to Nursery for christmas parties , I wear that it has bells fastened to it so I can jingle when I move, I have a feeling this year Sofia will want it. lol
Mandy . We decided to buy the fire guard last year as Sofia was just starting to walk, and I didn't want her pulling ornaments or chocolate of the tree, This year so far she goes and touches it, counts the reindeer and stars and sings Twinkle Twinkle little star, and says " Santa coming, Santa coming"
Its the Christmas party at her playgroup tomorrow, Daughter no 1 thinks there will be a right comotion when Santa arrives, Sofia has seen santa in pictures and on the TV but not as a real live human being , :-0 :-S lol

HI Just would like to thank you for answering Jessica your kind thoughts and advice she appreciated greatly.
Kim I hope you are feeling better chuck it is great that Pat can speak to you. Maureen painted me a lovely robin she is very talented our Maureen. loved it.
Ann thank you for my card it was lovely I hope you and Gordon have a very happy christmas a card is winging its way to you today had trouble getting out it is rain rain rain our front s flooded due to a blocked drain. I had to get our post man to post it ha ha I bet thats a first. I said it doesnt matter if you get your feet wet until the drains unblocked he said I will deliver to the house if you like and went . The mans doing the drain in a minute. The smell is disgusting.
Loved the picture of the little Ethan Jane found one or two from you .
Kim that Christmas one you sent that went on for ages was fantastic ,me and Mohsen sat and wached it and he had tears in his eyes he had never seen anything like that before he is getting downstairs on his bottom and seems to be in a lot of pain. His foot is stitched he did not have lazer treatment and he must rest it for six weeks. He is stitched up until after Christmas and the stitches are pulling and itching .
Well is everybody ready for christmas .FIONA THE TREE AND CAKE were BEAUTIFUL. Our tree looks like a rubbish dump so much on it from APRIL. the lights are cringing poor things. But christmas is for kiddies. I hope Chelsea and Katie have a lovely time AMANDA.
Watched some great show jumping Sunday and a british lad won. The play last night was good about the soldier nice to have something good to watch. I thought that lad would win the dancing I expect all his Mcfly fans were voting like for Duggie. Chelsea was great. I loved that green dress she had. I am going to the new Alec theatre to a evening with Brenden Cole. I do not know what he will be doing. I have a afternoon at the Birmingham rep for the SNOWMAN on Thursday. Looking forward to relaxing I have been so pent up just lately.
Mel how lovely the robin eating out your hand. I will never forget those two that came and sat by me in the garden last winter i was sat feeling a bit lonely and looked up and there was these two sweet little robins all new and cute looking at me. I said Oh hello babies and they flew on to the post behind me. It stuck in my mind after and now I just love robins.
Fiona I hope you do not loose your family to Italy a nice country to visit though.how did your daughter meet her husband. !I bet Sofia is excited about christmas. Aprils being a pest wanting to find her presents Jessie said your nose will fall off if you search anymore so now shes stopped looking.
My sons in a romance with a lady called Paula whoes got two girls shes divorced the children are Tiffany and Amber do not know if he is serious I did not like her very much shes very bossy and Ashleys untidy I cannot see that working. But three more for christmas lunch. I will just open a canteen .

Thank you Jane, Ann and Fiona for the photos, did you say it was the sun rise, you must have been up early. We all keep our hats on over christmas dinner and try and guess the cracker jokes then my son-i-l recites.... It was Christmas Day in the Workhouse ...... and in between all that we are tucking into Goose with all the trimmings ..... can't wait.
Your in laws look really good for their age Ann. I love that guard Fiona, I could do with one of those, not for Finley he looks, but doesn't touch, Alfie on the other hand has been playing non stop with the baubles around the bottom of the tree. Will he do as he is told, no chance.
I've been busy wrapping presents, hopefully have got enough wrapping paper, I don't intend to go to the shops at all this week, daughter was in Sain****ry this morning and said it was heaving, it'll be a nightmare by the end of this week.

Afternoon All,
Lovely pic of the sunrise Jane.......didn't know you were up that early!! Frank, I think she has tea in bed......the good Doctor gets it!! :-) Kim you are right about Ethan being a lovely baby. They are so blessed having him, when many just can't. I hope you have a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door while you 'chill' Jane. What a morning you have had!! Garages tighten nuts so hard these days so they can be really hard to shift. Bonce is a word you don't often hear anymore.
Mandy, OH would be nodding away at the mention of a football jumper.......lol. I bet little Katie and Sofia are so excited this Christmas with their parties and visits to Santa.
You're still waiting for the big switch on then Mel.......maybe they will turn up later. How magical is that to have a little wild Robin, come feed from your hand!! Priceless!! I think your OH would have looked good in his christmas hat and what a good idea to all bring your own.
OH is hacking away this morning and decided to leave going to the garage today. He is having a snooze I think as he didn't sleep very well last night.
I am doing me a list of what I need to get and will pop to Sain*burys later after tea when the masses have left.
I see the Black Panther has died (Donald Nielson). He left that poor girl in the drainage system and robbed sub post offices. (I bet Frank will remember that) Years ago I used to play badminton with a girl who was a dental assistant. She and a dentist had to visit him in prison. She said you wouldn't have ever guessed his past, seemed just an ordinary man.

Don't what is happening to some of my posts today. They aren't here :-S :-SMaybe I forgot to press the submit button. Now I can't remember what I said lol
I wasn't up that early .Chris rang me from his car when he left for work to say about the red sky.It was 8.10.If I had been dressed I could have got a much better one from out the front.
It's my well trained Butler that brings my cup of tea in bed ;-)I then get a second one and a banana when he goes.I am a lucky gal :-) :-)
I have finally wrapped Chris's presents and the one for Chester.Just finished and the phone rang again.I thought "Oh no who know" :-S.But it was a nice one as it was Peter my B Brother ringing from Aberdeen where he is waiting overnight before the helicopter flight to whatever oil rig he is off to.He will be away for both Xmas and the New Year.I feel sorry for his wife and children, but I think they are so used to it now as he is often away for special times.
Fiona I bet there will be a few tears at the playgroup tomorrow when the children come face to face with the man with the big beard.Bless their little cotton socks.
I think I had better clear away all this wrapping paper and mess now. :-S :-S

Not had the best of days. Picked Lewis up Harver was 15 minutes late. He had forgot to put Lewis's bag in his truck, so had to go back.
We then went up the A5 to Towcetser, traffic solid all the way 5 miles. then onto Saisbur#s Ros never shops there. As we walked in I started looking at the Veg, and started picking up bits I needed. "ARE WE GOING SHOPPING HERE THEN" came a voice. I said what the B hell do you think we are here for. "CHRISPY DUCK" she said. I said" Whats the point of comming all this way for one thing" THAT DID IT. We trampsed round and round finding things she needed for her triffle. Lewis was finding things he wanted. Then she couldn't find some things. So we paid and went to Tesc# After me sitting in the car for more than 3/4 hour she appeared. Almost 2pm. Lewis had a dental appointment at 2.pm close by. So again I sat in the car.
When we got home, I found I had left the heating on, itr was like a boiler house, which I can't stand. sends me dolally. Stripped off, and went in the conservatory to cool down. That was wrong.!!!!
Decided to cook some sausage rolls and chinese nibbles. Forgtr the S ROLLS, burnt to a cinder !!! all in the bin. Ros has just saved the nibbles.. Two more minutes and they would have been the same as S ROLLS.
I remember the Black Panther. W"hich brings me to another story.
Years ago, I had a citized band radio, and talked to loads of people around the area. One old chap "JACK" called me up one morning to say a local P.O. had been robbed, and he was heading to Blisworth. The next thing we know This big Black Man was standing at the side of the P.O. screen. He picked up some tins of salad dressing, which was odd as it was the middle of Winter. I contacted the police, and his discription fitted the one who had robbed the other P.O. They sent out two cars (plain unmarked) Two policemen sat in the back kitchen downstairs, and spent the rest of the day there. The other coppers sat in the cars in the pub car park opposite.. They picked him up later that day trying to rob another Post Office outside Birmingham. Was I lucky, or what. !!!
Ros is doing a stir fry tonight. I got some chicken breasts out earlier, they turned out to be STEWED APPLES :-) :-) :-)
I'm not touching anything else today !!!
