Shirl. that tip you gave Mel does work, I soak my hands in warm water and olive oil sometimes, it leaves them really soft.
That was a lovely post Jess, I hope you will be very happy in your new life. When you have young children it's easy to make new friends, usually it's the children that make friends and then you start talking to the mum, I still see my friend even though our boys are both 25 and rarely see each other we have remained close friends.
It's brass monkey weather here, as Frank would say, but at least no snow, better not speak too soon.

Maureen ,thanks for yet another brilliant Xmas card.I love it. :-D :-) :-D :-). Well I think Chris has over cooked his Biscotti things, and he has put them in a jar before they have cooled down enough.Would he listen to me and wait until they were cold? .....NO.Be it on his head if they go mouldy :-S.They do taste nice though :-DJust look a bit browner than they should. He says he might have another go next saturday!!!!.Told him to take a hike as I will be busy in the kitchen then (being Xmas Eve). Brass Monkey's here too Maureen.I was holding off lighting the fire today ,but have given in and it is now blazing.LOVELY

Jess, I wish you all the best in your new life in America. You will always have your happy memories and little Matt, but it is so lucky to find happiness again in your life.
Enjoy the new house. April will soon make new friends and you will get to make friends that way. Also little Matt will be an icebreaker with the mums.
Your mum is never boring and we always enjoy hearing what Beryl and Donnie are up to.
What a smashing card from little Ethan Jane. He looks all ready for Christmas!! lol I noticed he has a little bead necklace on.......my beady eyes!! :-) Try switching the flash off......sometimes it works better indoors without it.
Mandy, I bet it looks nice with the lights all up in your conservatory. We've got some spare bulbs SOMEWHERE? Mel, I can't find a pretty string of bells I usually put up.......the best thing is .....I saw them somewhere yesterday.
Well it was rain and sleet while I was out............thought I'd keep away from the masses and go and look at the antique market again where I found the good 'bits and bobs' stall. She had boxes and boxes of buttons, a quarter of the shop prices, and I spent ages having a good old rummage. I got some really quite pretty/unusual, very old, glass 20s, 30s and 40s ones too......not so cheap!! lol I also bought some cottons and haberdashery bits, not so easy to find these days. She must have been pleased with how much I bought as she gave me some raffle tickets for a £25 prize, to be drawn tomorrow.
I haven't done anything on my list for today yet, so I'd better get cracking.......OH will be home in a couple of hours and I want to watch the Strictly final tonight.........should be the best ever I think. :-) :-)

Afternoon all,
I am a little brams and list.
Went down the pub at luchtime, had a few beers and read the newspapers, got home about 3.30pm. Ros hadn't arrived home.
Went to see neighbours to give them the childrens presents for xmas. The baby is so big. I held and cuddled him for 10 minutes and he made my arms ache. Nicola has finished re-training with VIRGIN, and starts back with a flight to New York on 2nd of Jan. She said that she always comes back from wherever over night. and could do with a few hours sleep before having to look after MILES (the baby) so I said, NO WORRY we will look afdter him. she said THANKS.. Looks like I have lumbered us into baby sitting.
Managed to catch the other neighbours with the two little boys (JACK AND TOM) gave them their presents. We want to open them now said the little one, I said NO. New Years Day. the older one said NO CHANCE.
Ros and I sat and had a cup of tea (ROS) me a beer. Now thinking of what to have tonight. (FOOD) I think it will be Chinese.
Going to watch the news and have another beer, got the taste for it :-) :-)
See your Ladyship and all later. KNEW you ween't GENTRY

Surely the Biscotti won't stay in the jar long enough to go mouldy Jane :-D I am so looking forward to Christmas, will be at my daughters, lots to eat and drink and no exercising for a few days and no cooking, will be on washing up duty though, that's the least I can do.
What will we do now Frank's favourite Saturday night programmes are ending, I'm looking forward to Strictly too Ann, I would like Chelsee to win, I love watching her dance but Harry is very popular, good too. :-) :-)

Evening All
Been a busy day, Put tree up this morning with the help from daughter no 2 and boyfriend before daughter went to work. Then off to the shops to do the weekly shopping plus some Christmas food shopping. never ending putting all that food away, and trying to find places to put it, missing the back porch already, used to stack boxes in there,
Then off to the florists to buy 2 wreaths for the cemetery, we will take them up tomorrow .
Jess, I wish all the best for you & your family moving to America. Hope all goes well, your new house is lovely and situated with fantastic views of the coast. I am sure you & Ryan and the kids will be very happy, It will be hard for your mum, and she will be lost without you at first I expect to be in her situation myself one day, as my eldest daughter married an Italian and I am sure that one day my SIL will want to take my daughter and little granddaughter( and any more children that may come along) back to live in his home town, but for now and the near furture they are here in Scotland,
Little Ethan is lovely Jane, thanks for the photo.
Thanks Ann for the Christmas pics, Your tree and decorations are great, will take a photo of my tree tomorrow when it's day light.
I'm off to wrap up the last of my Christmas pressies, I say the last but I always see something else at the last minute.
Oh yes must not forget to ice and decorate the Christmas cake too. OH busy busy busy!!!!!
:-) :-) :-)

I remember Fuzzy Felts Jane , you could make anything with them, Kids had them in the nursery too, and thats only a few years ago.
I'm off to bed with My Family History Journal, just came through the post this morning , In it one of the other members has wrote in a story about his ancestors, and just skipping over it , I have found a family name which is connected to my GGAunt's first husband, will be interesting reading
We have holly in the garden Jane, but there's not many berries left on it the birds have nearly eaten them all,
Night night xxxxxxxxxxxxxx :-D

A really lovely morning here, and have just come back from taking Millie for a brisk (?!) walk. Putting up decorations today, and present wrapping. Hope to take Merlin out later, but only if the frost lifts, otherwise could be dangerous!
