Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Dec 2011 11:07

Morning All,

So nice to hear from Jess. I do hope you will be happy in that beautiful new home acros the sea. As the others have said you will soon make friends as you have the children and they always bring people together. I am so pleased for you that you have now fallen in love with Ryan as he sounds such a nice man. Love to you all and a safe journey when the time comes.

Raining here on and off and we have had a couple of rainbows here today already so that proves the sun is out too.

Oh gone ringing for church and I have to get ready to go out to the garden center when he gets back which I hope means we will have dinner there and then I only have to do tea tonight. It is my turn to pay!! :-)

No tree up here yet but maybe today later on. I am still looking for the small strings of lights that run by batteries. I have looked everywhere I can think of but have'nt found any of them yet. I wqant to do a twig like Ann's as I thought it looked so lovely. I have the icicles like hers and some small baubles that would look nice on one. Just have to find a suitable twig.

Off for my shower now so see you all later on.

Need a sack of bird food and peanuts and some large fat balls in stock for the coming winter weather.

Morning All,

It was snowing quite hard and settling well when I got up this morning, but it turned to freezing rain which has stopped and now it is sunny!

OH was hacking and coughing when he got up and looking sorry for himself. He has been let off doing the bread and butter as I don't want him spreading his bugs around this near Christmas. Found him some other jobs instead! :-D. All the food is ready for later now, salads, meats, cheeses, nibbles, then raspberry pavlova and cream, mince pies and other cakes. I just have to go up the garden after my cuppa to get some bits of greenery for the table dec and then clean the kitchen and get the table ready with it's red cloth. I must say I seem to have hurtled into Xmas this year, but am feeling Xmassy now!! MIL is bringing the crackers as usual, I bet OH won't be keeping his paper hat on for long.....he hates them!!! lol

Better get on.......see you later.

Jane Report 18 Dec 2011 12:13

What time are they arriving Ann?Sounds a lovely spread.I hope poor G keeps his germs to himself :-S
You asked me if I could smell the Xmas Tree........no not a whiff.I am very disappointed.I don't know why there is no scent.

Thanks Pat for letting us know Kim is not so good today.Thinking of you Kim <3
Nothing wrong with lazing around in your Jim Jams Pat especially on a cold sunday morning.

Mel I have 4 lots of those lights that run on batteries. One on the Mantlepiece ,and the others on various window sills twisted around tinsel.I hope you find yours.I did remember to buy a load of extra batteries.

Just missed a call from Rachel.Chris had a chat but she is going to ring back.I think I might fortify myself with a glass of sherry as I'm not sure it will be an easy call.I hope I'm wrong and that it is not all doom and gloom :-S

Do any of you like Crispy Duck? In Sains**** they have packs with the pancakes etc for half price.Thought that was a good deal so bought 2 packs.I think James and Jess and maybe Hannah will like that.

I have just found a recipe on the coffee table that Chris has left for me.Think he is dropping a hint. It's for Roasted Sprouts with Shallots and Thyme.I won't be doing it today though.
We will have Roast Beef later today as it was still frozen earlier.

Jane Report 18 Dec 2011 13:08

Frank Report 18 Dec 2011 14:08

Hi you lot,!!!

Cold morning/afternoon here, no snow. but trere again I didn't get up till 10 am so it might have been and gone :-) :-)

Had a terrible night again, was still awake at 3.30am woke again at 6.00 am dozed on and off, and lain there. Ros was still asleep, so I didn't disturbe her.

She found a cobweb this morning, hanging from the lights. THAT'S STARTED IT. !!! Out came the hoover. All the furniture has been pulled out, and cleaned behind, cushions off the chairs and sofa, If i deidn't move quickley I would have been up the hoover as well. !!!! Still as it now.

I have prepared dinner, Roasts are in at the moment, veg ready to go on when I turn the roasts.

I will try to get photo's of Ros's twig arrangements a little later. when it gets dark. Bright sunshine at the moment, but still very cold.

Frank Report 18 Dec 2011 14:46

Jane

Jane Report 18 Dec 2011 15:19

Oh Bl**** He** Frank........Deep Breath and start again.Been there ,done that and got the tee shirt too .It doesn't take long before roast pots go over.Looks like pieces of coal :-S
Just has a nearly 2hour chat with Rachel!!!!.I knew I did the right thing in having a sherry beforehand. Now having some wine to wind me down ;-)
It was actually quite a good chat and she was ok with ME telling her what I think ,but not happy with her in-laws telling her what they think. :-S :-S.Silly really as they think the same as me .I tried telling her that ,but it fell on deaf ears.Hey Ho! I just hope they get through Christmas.

Chris has just gone off with Chester and a pair of secateurs .Gone to look for some Holly :-D

Frank I have some cobwebs hanging around here that could do with a bit of a brushing down.I'll pay Ros ;-) ;-)

Annx Report 18 Dec 2011 15:42

Got my lippy on now and waiting for OH to bring them back. Lol, Jane......I'll see if I can get a snap in quick before the hat goes west!! Will see if they still have some crispy duck there tomorrow Jane....I like it and OH loves duck!! Thanks for the mention.

What a shame about the roasts Frank. I often leave parsnips too long. I got a vase out to use this morning and there was a whopping (dead) big spider in it!! I couldn't believe all the dust and webs I found yesterday. Thankfully it all looks clean now..........under the bed can wait for Spring cleaning!! :-D :-)

I hope you soon feel a bit better Kim and that your poor cat is a bit better.

Frank Report 18 Dec 2011 16:59

You were never 21 was you JANE I bet you haven't any proof. :-) :-) :-)

Second batch of pots and parsnips were just right. Have you tried those little brussels from Tesc#s. They a great, lovely crisp flavour and only take a few minutes to boil.
We bought half a crispy duck from Tesc# the other week, so good we bought another for Lewis this week. Will pop to Sainsbur# to see if they have any left.
Ros lost it in Morrisso#s yesterday, They have had something on offer all last week. On Wed when we were in there, there was only one on the sdhelf, when she asked about more, he said No we are waiting for more to come in. It was exactly the same on Saturday. She said, Why don't you take the offer off if you haven't got stock. He said can't do that "TILL THE OFFER FINISHES" I won't say what she said but it started with B and ended in S

Shirl, Nice to see you care about me. :-) :-) :-)

Back from the garden center where we had a turkey roast with stuffing balls that had'nt even seen an oven and pigs in blankets, carrots, mashed swede, peas and roast teddies. The turkey looked like someone had chewed it before it was put on my plate but it did have a nice flavour!!!! Anyway I gave oh one of my stuffing balls and got the other, or part of it stuck on the roof of my mouth!!! It was so crowded in there and the noise was awful and people walking past to get to tables behind us. We usually like to get a table by a wall but we were out in the middle today.

Oh bought me yet another set of chirstmas lights, all red ones this time. When he just plugged them in to see what they looked like they don't work so we shall have to go back and change them.
While we were in there after the meal Derek who owns the place came in the shop with a llamma on a lead and another was following. He walked all round the shop by the Christmas decs with them. Oh just caught a vase from smashing to the ground when the one off the lead decided to eat some silk flowers displayed in it. Then later on it knocked over a big lit up father Christmas and some other things. The kids loved it but some of the people, mostly women were saying that they smelled but I did'nt notice and I was standing right by the smaller one of the lead. He should have had some of those alice bands on them with the antlers on!!

OH bought me my new border fork, a tin with humbugs in and a lovely pic of a robin on it and a jumper and sweets. Newbewrry fruits which I love but you don't always see them. Orange and lemon slices too. Have to have a pack of those, don't we Jane :-)

Got a nice jumper too but have'nt tried it on yet but I liked the colour. A sort of light turq. It is a Regatta one.

Hope the dinner went off ok Frank after the first disarster and everyone is sated at last.

Jane trying to find that date you asked me about.

Evening all,

I really don't know where the day has gone , went into town and bought a few bits for sister for christmas ,had a look in the stationers shop that closes on friday ,and got some colouring books for the little ones , there's also two other shops in town that are closing at the end of the week , we'll soon only have charity shops and estate agents at this rate !!!

Wrapped some more presents ,cooked a roast chicken for tea ,so now stuffed !!!

It was very frosty first thing ,but by the look of the weather forecast it should turn really mild by the end of the week.

Thanks Frank for the photo , what is it in the top right hand corner of the photo , is it a reflection of some thing ? it looks like a big top !!

Mel, I love the colour Turquoise , what is it with these orange and lemon slices lol son goes mad over those too , he's not happy if i don't buy them .
He said to me yesterday could i knit him a Christmas Sweater , i think he said the same thing last year !! i carn't really see him wearing one of those sweaters with snow flakes or reindeer on :-D :-D but he said he would , no time to start knitting now though, he should have said before !!

Love to Kim ,hope you'll soon feel better <3 <3
