Evening Kim.
I worked in a Bakery once :-S :-S.I think I was still at school and it was just a summer job. When I think back to the hygiene standards it makes my hair stand on end.People smoking while making the dough etc,mice/rat droppings .I hated it there ,and was pleased when occasionally I was sent to the Indoor market stall in Plymouth that the Bakery had to help out.

Chris has just vacated the shower ,so I will nip up now and have mine .Hannah is going off to some food fair at Holdenby House this morning with the girls. So we will be having Roast this evening when everyone will be here.

Any sign of the Python today KIm?It can't really live too far from you can it :-0

It seems to be all cloud here but not too bad.I just heard a shotgun.I bet that is my neighbour :-S

Morning All and Evening Kim,

At present the sun is shining and it's a beautiful morning. Oh has just driven out the arch to go ringing and I am home alone. Chickens all fed and let ou t and I am wondering whether to go and cut my broken finger nail off and then wash my hair. I can't do it with a split nail, the only problem is it is my index finger on my right hand!! Not very good with sissors in my left hand...... :-S :-S :-S

Big breakfast all ready to cook when oh gets in.

I have been up the shop and bought the things I forgot yesterday.

How did Ros enjoy her time out yesterday Frank? :-D

I like KFC but oh dos'nt so I never get it now but I do buy myself a southern fried chicken fillet in Morrisons sometime for lunch on the go.

Afternoon all,

Had a lay in this morning. 9.30 am.

Ros got home about 8.00pm Tired out and aching. The tour round Windsor
on Friday, was all up hill from the coach stop. Hundreds of steps. till you got to the Castle, then more steps inside. They went into St Georges Chapel, and saw where the King and Queen Mother were laid to rest also Princess Margatet.

They had a nice stay in the hotel, and ate in Friday night, They were on the road by 8.15 am. She's never been up so early :-0 :-0 :-0. They arrived at 11.00 am at the Palace. The tour took two and a half hours. She was amazed at the beauty of it all. The Floods were about 3 inches deep, They weren't able to go out the correct way, so had to detour through a narrow gate. You can imagine hundreds of people will umbrellas all trying to get out through a gate made for one person at a time. They then had to walk a long way to the coach.

Presents were bought for the falmily, A nice Glass for me, with the Royal Coat Of Arms etched in GOLD. A shot glass for Harvey, Royal folding bags for the girls, and a GOLD comerative coin for the Queens for LEWIS. I'm not sure what Conrad has got.

Well I will never be eating another KFC. it was rubbish.!!!! far to much SALT and seasoning. The chips were horrible, and the popcorn chicken vile. I've only ever eaten one BIG MAC.and as for SUBS. That was horrible also. I will stick to my Roasts and F & C. Misserable old BUGG## I hear you say !!!!

Must get to read the posts later.

Ros has just said if anyone gets the time to go to the Palace they shoud do so. It's something you should do, as it's a life changing experience.

Frank ,that is one thing to put on my list of things to see in London.Sounds amazing.I did visit Buck Palace Stables (I don't think they are called stables) but the bit where the Golden Coach etc are kept. That was many moons ago .I went with Georgette(Fitz'z OH) their sons and my 2.We stayed in a Hotel and had the weekend seeing the sights.I have a wonderful Photo of Hannah in Trafalgar Square covered from head to toe with Pidgeons lol.She held her arms out to the side (think she had seed in her hands) and within seconds the birds descended on her .I thought she was so brave .People were taking photos of her.

It is very hot here now so the shorts are back on :-DI have just plated up some lunch for Chris and Me.Salmon wedge things with Lemon and Parsley. They are delicious(and I don't like salmon),Bread and Butter ,Tomatoes and Cucumber.
Time to eat I think :-D

Hi Everyone,

I definitely wouldn't like KFC if it is salty Frank......I don't put salt in anything and won't eat in places where the food is salty.

Must add Bucks Palace to the 'to do' list now then! Like Jane I visited the stables (mews?) years ago and saw the coaches. I did coach painting at the time and was looking very closely at the paintwork! lol. The horse stalls were all spotless and everywhere so tidy and swept. Another place, not that far away that I would like to go is Althorp where Diana is buried. I must actually write a list as I keep forgetting these things.....age!!

Mel, I hate it when a nail rips like that and yes, it is tricky cutting with your left hand!!

Lovely and sunny here now and we went for a nice canal walk after lunch around Shenton. Lots of barges on the move, holidaymakers I expect. Now we are going to put the last piece of weed control fabric down round the back. Tomorrow rain is forecast so we are making the effort to do it now. OH says he wants his hair cut then!!! :-S

It's the short person reporting,

Have not eaten since last night, so getting hungry.

Roast pork in the oven, with Roast pots, cabbage carrots beans and peas. Apple sauce on the side. with my famous Yorkshire pudding. !!!!

I am in shorts, sitting in the garden, with my book, and a few cold beers. (Too many me thinks, ) but so relaxed. Ros is finishing off the big border, and planting winter pansies around the back garden.

Neighbours are sitting in the garden with FLEECES ON. What will they wear in the Winter.. Their washing is still on the line since last Thursday :-( :-( :-( :-(

What a GREAT DAY it's turn out to be. (LARRY GRAYSON) very warm in the sun, but a bit cool when those big black clouds come over.

Must go and see how dinner is.

LOl Frank ...A Gay Day I think was old Larry G saying. But yes it is a great day and really very hot.Why on earth are your neighbours in Fleeces. They must be mad lol

Ann, yes the Mews ..that's the word.I thought was fascinating. But I would love to get into the Palace :-D

I have just cooked 2 chickens and have the potatoes ready to go in to roast.I think we will eat about 6.30./7.Have had to turn the dehumidifier off in the kitchen again.I just can't have the oven on for hours as well as that :-S :-S

I have had a spontaneous weekend ..... not like me at all .......daughter phoned yesterday morning asking what you wear to a 'black tie' wedding she was on her way to town for a dress. I decided to join her and we had a great day in Oxford Street in and out all the shops. She bought a beautiful dress from Coa**t and I bought a jacket for son's wedding there too, it was in the sale, we had lunch in an Italian Restaurant with a couple of glasses of wine, and her husband phoned and said why didn't I come back to their flat and chill for the evening, so I did, a few more glasses of wine and nibbles and came back home this afternoon, the train was absolutely packed though with people going to the Notting Hill Carnival. The poor cats hadn't been fed since the day before but they survived.

Frank

Frank Report 26 Aug 2012 18:42

All feed and watered. Dish washer on tonight. I can't be bothered with weashing up.

Have put Ros's tools away, and got the washing in, She is totally Knackered. The garden looks a treat. We had a little ROBIN and BLACKBIRD around where she was working on the border. She was talking to them, and their heads keep going from side to side, as though they understood what she was saying.

Glad you had a good weekend Maureen, When you do something like that, it's so much more enjoyable.

Jane, No climbing over the Palace walls, They will put you in the TOWER>

Jane

Jane Report 26 Aug 2012 18:48

Maureen .Sounds like you have had a great time :-D Spontaneous things are often the best :-D :-D..and you got yourself a new Jacket too.

I just tried to carve the chickens......can I find a sharp carving knife???? Nope. And the knife sharpener is in some box with all the other stuff I have had to put away
:-S.So it is shredded Chicken rather than sliced.Oh well! it will taste the same :-D

Annx

Annx Report 26 Aug 2012 19:36

Sounds like you had a lovely time Maureen. I do 'spontaneous' quite often and it does you good! :-D That's good you got a jacket ready for your son's wedding.

Nothing to eat since last night Frank..........no wonder the cold beers are having an 'effect'! lol. OH has just opened a bottle of 'Old Peculiar'. Gawd your neighbours must be sitting in a draught if they are wearing fleeces.....had my shorts on today too.

OH is 'shorn' now so that is another job done for a while.

I see someone else has died from Pan's People. I really loved watching them in their early days years ago. OH was saying today that Sean Connery is over 80 now and how you think these people you saw years ago are about your own age and should still be in films!!

I'm trying to persuade Ellen to take her driving test.

She doesn't know when she might have need of it
I don't know if she's given up on the idea or is nervous,or both.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Aug 2012 21:10

Jane I often just pull a chickens apart instead of carving it. You can feel better for the bones that way too.

Frank sorry you did'nt like your KFC. I hav'nt had a proper one for years and years but I would never have the popcorn chicken bites . Don't eat anything that is reconstructed meats of any kind.

Ann you must have some pics of the garden by now. Can we see some please???????

Maureen good that you enjoyed your day shopping in Oxford St and bought a nice new jacket.

Jane do you know when Fiona will get the results of her scan??

Jane

Jane Report 26 Aug 2012 22:38

David.I think we need to bring your subject from your other thread 'scared of the dark' onto this thread. It might conjure up a few memories from childhood :-D :-D

We always had to have the landing light on as my sister was scared of the dark.50 plus years on I still have the landing light on......just a habit that I just can't get rid of lol
It is funny how these things just stick with you. :-S

Mel I don't know when Fiona gets the results of her scan.Hopefully she will ring me when she does.

David ,has Ellen driven before ,or are you trying to get her to drive for the first time?
She might not feel confident enough if it is the first time(being older)I think the older you are the less confidence you have.

Ann I used to try and copy Pan's People lol. They were quite racy (back then) in the old days :-D :-D

I am off to bed now. We never got to eat until almost 9 as the 4 of us were sat outside in the candlelight talking politics ,world poverty,NHS,...you name it ,it was discussed :-S :-S :-S...I have to say I do feel quite 'thick' sometimes when my 2 and Chris get into these debates,as I can get a bit lost :-S.It's been great though as it have been a long time since we did this.
I will just let Chester out as James is glued to the footie.
Night Night and see you all tomorrowx

I remember buying a local paper one day ,reading it.Tearing it into squares and wiping my bum on it the next.

Cheeks must have been black with printer's ink.
