Morning all Evening Kim.
What a lovely morning we have here. Little white clouds floating in the blue sky. nice warm breeze with it..
Not a good night again last night. Woke at 4.04 am laid till 6.00. Had a pee and got back into bed. Only to lay till 7.00. So got up.
We have almost used all our beans and peas. They came on all at once, and we just ate and ate them. All Ros's Broad beans are gone now. We have had a good crop of corgettes and three cues. More to come. Tomatos starting to colour now, since Ros cut back a lot of leaves.
Mamdy, You should try "BUTTERED CHICKEN" for an Indian. It's very mild and creamy. Ros has that as she can't stand the spices in most of them..
I miss the old Weetabix smell. I was just about a mile from the factory. and at times it was overpowering. I would go and fish in the ISE by their factory, some smashing Roach in that streach.
Mush get a joint out of the freezer for tomorrow, so as it can defrost slowly

All showered and shaved, just cooling off, with a towel round me. Ros has popped to Tesc# to get odds and ends.
Got a nice Topside of Beef out for tomorrow.
Yes David I remember him now. wasn't it Knicky Knacky noo. ???
Might go down the pub at lunchtime to see the football. and have a gargle or two. !!!!
Think I will put a pair of shorts on today again. So much better than being covered with trousers..
Going for a sit in the garden for an hour and have a read.

Morning all,
It has been a sunny and windy day here, perfect for the sheets.
We have the sewerage works a few streets from here and get the occasional whiff, but the wind seems to blow in the other direction; we sometimes get the salty ocean smell as the beach is about a 5 minute walk from here and sometimes the aroma of Wee**ix from the Sanit***um factory which is down the road in the opposite direction.
It was nice to have my hair done yesterday. Hairdresser said the colour soaked in and was absorbed very quickly as my hair is very dehydrated. So colours are not as bright as usual - this has happened twice now. Still nice to be pampered. Joy also ambled up very slowly and had a cuppa and her hair cut. She is looking very tired these days after all these falls and has her two sons staying for the weekend. Maybe some serious decisions will be made regarding her future in the house. She is coping at the moment and people come to take her shopping and to all her appointments.
Jane must tell you about the huge pure white dog that was out in our reserve tonight. He had a red collar on and I saw him the other day as well. The cats both took off and hid under my bed. After OH had a chat with the owner, we discovered his name is Chester. He is lovely and friendly. I had to smile to myself as I imagine he has a similar nature to your boy.
Daughter is out on a date tonight. Her bub is taking her out to dinner, but he is running quite late. Now a bub is not a boyfriend, but someone in between. I don't understand all this lingo of today's youth. It seems to mean that they can also date other people, although she hasn't been doing this. I have met him once and he seems quite nice. His name is James, but goes by the nickname of Darkie as he has dark curly hair and he would be well over 6 foot, so she would be lucky to come up to his waist. Frank I did inform her that you would like her to visit so you can sort her out, but she just laughed at me.
Sheila I always have a laugh at your Beryl and Donnie stories. It would be a hit series if ever handed to a script writer. I try to conjure up images in my mind.
We had seafood marinara tonight with shaved parmesan cheese. Filled the spot.
Well it's time for my nightly cuppa. I hope you are all well and that we see Fiona back on here before too long. I hope it's not too hot and humid for you. Have a good day. 8.17 pm AEST
Mandy I meant to ask you how Lacey is doing?

Kim What a good choice of name for the White Dog :-D :-D.I have come across a couple of Chesters .One was a lovely old Boxer who we used to see at the park .The 2 dogs would romp off together and when one of us called CHESTER they both came back lol. It's good that Joy is staying safe and able to come to you for her hair cut.She must be such a worry now for her family.
Frank I am surprised you are even wearing shorts in this heat ;-).I have pulled all the curtains at the back of the house to try and keep the sun out.Poor Chris is still attacking the hedge.I think finally he has agreed it is too big a job for him now as he can't reach across the top of the hedge to trim that side.I think it is a good 6to 8 feet wide.So next year we will get the professionals in to do it.We have a couple of old trees covered in Ivy that need to come down too so maybe get them all done at the same time.
I have picked more tomatoes this morning so will be making more sauce later.I have the garlic and basil ready.I wanted really to use fresh Oregano too but I'm not sure if my plant is big enough yet to pick from.I will have to investigate.
Mandy I want to come and sit in your pool.My btm is a tad too large for this little paddling pool here :-S
I wonder if today will be the hottest day of the year.It certainly feels like it.
Kim I hope bub has turned up to take Miranda out for the meal.....(for your sake) ;-)

I meant to say in Tes** I saw a lady buying a jar of baby food to feed her son's baby Lizard !!! I think it is going to be actually cooler outside so I'm going out to squeeze those tomatoes with the mashing machine thingy.I will have to take the chopping board out for the masher to suck onto as I don't think the slatted patio table will work.

Afternoon all,
What a scorcher !! reading temp out side 35 degrees!!! Fan on full blast here .
Kim, Lacey's coming along ,although they are trying to get a sample of poo from her (sorry everyone not very nice to talk about ) it's been a little bit on the green side so the doctor wants to test it, they think she might have an infection ,they waited to get some yesterday it had to be taken into doctors by 12-30 but she hadn't been !! so it will be done Monday now. She's also had her hips x rayed because she laid awkward in DIL's tum, as she couldn't be turned she had her legs up all the time ,but the x ray was fine so that was a relief.
Your welcome to come in the pool Jane its 15ft across is that big enough LOL
It does look lovely all sparkly with the sun shining on the water very inviting ,been busy today ,so we're having a dip tomorrow ,will give it another day to warm up.....you coming for a dip too Frank??
Salad for us tonight , a friend gave us some tiny new potatoes they dug up ,will not be scraping all those !!just a scrub and in the pan i think :-S
Time for a drink,we've been having Lime Cordial with lots of ice ....so refreshing on a hot day .

Afternoon All,
Even the bit of breeze is rather hot here today and the sun is very strong. I hurt my back again, bending down and twisting around to take a hammer off OH on Thursday when we we laying more of the weed control fabric......so annoying as I could have got on with more today if it wasn't still sore and twanging. At least I know exactly what movement will set it off now!! :-S
Next time I go in the city I am going a different route to look out for a plumbers shop. I forgot to say, but one of my friends was telling me yesterday about a shop that 'advertises' any non-payers outside on the shop walls!! Things like, 'Does Mr ****** pay his bills??' lol. I thought, what a good idea! :-D
While OH is out at footie I think I will have a sort out of the freezer. It is so hard to chuck anything out with him around all the time. He 'tuts' at the waste if I chuck stuff out or says it will be ok and puts it back.......probably for another 12 months!!! lol. :-( It is just the same with the food cupboards!! :-(
Mandy, your pool sounds very inviting..........!!! lol. :-D

Mandy I think 15ft should just about be ok :-D I asked Chris to put some water in the paddling pool when he gets the hose out.just a foot soak will be quite pleasant.
I did the tomatoes,But I couldn't get the mashing machine to stick so had to bring it all back indoors.Chris said I thought you were baking the tomatoes first !!!!!! I told him to take a hike.I am not having the oven on in this heat in the middle of the day ,with the dehumidifier on as well.I think I burnt the garlic a bit so hope the sauce won't have a bitter taste. We will see tomorrow when we have meatballs and spaghetti.
I hope Lacey doesn't have an infection Mandy.Has she been poorly or is it just the green poo?Good thing her hips are ok :-D.Janice sent me a lovely pic of William last night .I will see if I can get it out to you all.He is 8 lb now and almost 2months old.He is so much like my Nephew .Jo let Michel (my Nephew have William for the day on Thursday when she had Chemo. That is the first time she has allowed him to have baby for so long. My fingers are sticking to the keys here so I'm off to sit right next to the fan now .

Tut is a man thing for sure :-S :-S..Same here with Chris.James was clearing out some of my old old sheets and things from the cupboards on the landing as needs more space(he doesn't have a lot).IHe called me up to check what could go.So I was saying yes get rid yes get rid .The next minute Chris appears halfway up the stairs saying that might come in useful and that and that.I explained very patiently that these were things that hadn't seen the light of day for about 20 years so they can GO.Then politely told him to go away ;-) ;-)
Ann ,hopefully if you rest up for the remainder of the weekend your back will ease up. Just be careful delving into the depths of the freezer :-D

Annx, an old friend of mine for more than 40 years ran his own successful plumbing, central heating and sanitation business. Was never a bad debt and paid his men on time.
He sub contracted his men out last year to another business named Has*** D. Bur** H D B went to the wall bankrupted. As a consequence my friend couldn't pay his men and his business was sold for a pound.
Bad debts ricochet :-0

David ,I too know someone whose business went to the wall as he had so many non payers..But he has since built the business back up again. He used to hire out big building work machinery like JCBs and such. Not sure what it is now he does but he is making a mint.I saw him a few years back when there was a village reunion (where I grew up),and he told me that he has my Dad to thank for taking him under his wing and telling him he could make something of himself rather than being a bit of a tearaway.I just wish my Dad could see how well he has done.He would be so chuffed .
:-D
I can't even think about cooking dinner .It is still just toooooooo hot.But needs must.Chris will be hungry after all the physical work he has done today.Between us we pulled up more flooring in the back porch........Lots more dead Chuggypigs . A bit of the concrete under the flooring looks like it had blown and all cracked. It is like a little hump.I wonder if that is where the leak started?? Who knows???

About 30+ years ago the biggest plumbing, central heating business in the region went bust owing everyone.
But the owner had been shrewd. Before going broke he had bought a business "name" that was then his.
Less than a year after him going broke he set up bigger than ever under the name he bought. He died years ago and his sons have never looked back.

Evening all,
Just come in from the patio, it's to dark out there now to read.
It ceertainly has been HOT today. When I came back from the pub, Ros was in the back garden still clearing the borders. She also spread all the compost from the grow bags over the garden. It will wash in when it rains. It certainly looks nice now. She also bought some more plants for the borders (more expence) but they look so nice, so what can I say.!!!!
Mandy, If it wasen't so far, I would take you up on your offer. But by the time we got there is would be time to set off home :-D :-D :-D :-D
Have watered all the borders and patio pots etc. The lawn might need a trim tomorrow.
David, A lot of business's go to the wall, to get out of their debts, and start up again under a different name, then do it over and over.again. I think they shouldn't be allowed to start again till they clear all their debts, but there are a lot of loopholes in the law, so they get away with it.
Going to get a cold beer, and sit back outside in the cooler air.
