Morning/Evening all,
Had a quick note from Shirl, about my eMails. Didn't say how she was. I must speak to her on Skype when I see her on line. l The weather here can't make up it's mind. Brilient sunshine then black clouds. With all the showers yesterday, I don't think I will attempt the lawns, unless it stays dry till mid afternoon.
Ann, That could have been a laugh, trying to find the "WOLLIES" in the bath, you never know what you might have grabed :-D :-D :-D :-D
The New "T" bar arrived this morning, now I have to return the wrong one.
Might go into Come# and have a look at new cookers and hobs later today. Must remember to measure old ones to make sure we get the size right. Then I will go on line to see what price difference there is. Might save a few quid. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Did myself some nice Pork Sausages for breakfast this morning in new rolls and a bit of brown sauce. full to bursting now. Spag Bol for tea tonight.

Hello all What a bl**** day!.We decided that I have had such bad service from the company who supplied the plumbers that came out that we would go elsewhere.I had no gripe with the plumbers(and we are still going to use them but not through that company) They are refusing to pay us back our £315 deposit.I was not told it was a non refundable deposit and had nothing in writing or by email. So I have spent most of today on and off the phone.Have made it clear that we will not leave the situation as it is and will persue. The plumbers have given us a new quote for the extra work that is needed and the Insurance chap has given the go ahead. So it looks like it all kicks off on maybe tuesday. It does appear that I will get a new floor in the kitchen and right through the utility as the tiled floor goes all the way through .There is a door from the kitchen into utility but thankfully no floor bar in the doorway. If there was then the utility bit would not be covered. We will get industrial dryer/s to put in the garage to get the wall and floor dried so it can be replastered .It is all a bit of a headache today and I have been a right old angry pants.Poor Chester is keeping well out of my way (very sensible) Then I spotted the Jehova W coming down the drive. So I just legged it out to the back garden.I think I might have been very rude had I answered the door lol Put the phone down twice on 'our Indian callers'!!!! It is nearly 4pm and I think I am just beginning to calm down.Boy do I have a headache. :-S Then Fitz turned up as he had to get his car into the garage. He got a lift back and got dropped off here. His bill is going to be about £1200.So between the 2 of us we were a right couple of miseries lol Sorry I haven't read any posts yet.I just thought I better get on here quickly before there are anymore phonecalls. I will be back later a bit more chilled ;-)

Afternoon all.
I did take my purse and bought a nice big leather handbag marked up for £4.45...I then noticed the lining was a bit ripped so I got it for £2..Thats a bargain..It is a sage green colour..Im now using that to travel with.. It has turned out warm now...I have washed
all the throws and just about to take a second load out of the machine.
Mocha went off ok..He doesnt know what is happening lol..The kennel maid just took him and he went off wagging his tail.
I have been busy putting the cleaner round downstairs and washing all thefloors. How come we make ourselves tired before a holiday ..I may be on later if not I willI catch up with you in a weeks time

Pat are you all packed and ready for your hols?Is Mocha all packed ,or has he already gone on his? Please bring back some sunshine with you :-D
Had yet another call to say that we will not be getting deposit back.I have had enough now and will get Chris to go down the Complaint Road.I know he will say "you are quite capable of doing that".I know I am ,but he will stay calmer and do, and say the right things.I always get a bit tongue tied and it all comes out as though I don't know what the heck I'm talking about lol(which I don't really) I now have to start thinking about new flooring.I wish my sister was here .She would have the right ideas.

Paths crossed there Pat.I see Mocha has gone on his little travels.Bless him <3 I think it could take a fair while to dry out the wall and floor Pat,but will ignore the meter lol.It just has to be done.If I started looking at the meter I wouldn't be able to stop .When I think of how long my niece had the dryers in after the Tewkesbury Flood. It was weeks and weeks for her.I think our leak might have been going on for over 20 years just a drip drip thing since the extension was built.
Hannah rang just now and she starts her new Research Job at the beginning of September. She is going to meet one of the Big Bods in a couple of weeks for lunch to discuss things. She feels good now that she has an actual date to start.I think she has had to wait until they have found someone to take over her position now.
I had better start dinner now before I have anymore interruptions .I just need to get the mince browned off and then add the sauce so not exactly a difficult job :-D

Oh dear Jane......you sound as 'browned off' as the mince!! :-) What a day you have had! Hmmm......maybe you could tell the company you are charging them £315 as compensation? That would cancel the deposit out. I would have thought they should have issued you with something in writing about the deposit being non refundable.
Frank!!! I think I would have gone fishing with the salad tongs!!!! lol.
Pat, I hope you have a lovely time on your hols, sounds like you got yourself a good bag there! Mocha trotted off happily so that is a good start. He is obviously not worried about being with strangers. OH got a 'mint' condition hardback today about Prince Philip. It only came out last year at £25 and he only paid £1.50 for it.
I bet Mandy has been having F&C at the seaside......drool, drool!! It must have been nice there today if it has been quite sunny like here. OH was taking me to Bridlington tomorrow, but it looks as if it will be too wet with thunderstorms there so we aren't going now, waiting till it is fine. I think he will go to a match at Wisbech instead.
That's the idea Shirl, making things easier for you. Pots are higher up to reach down to and the weeds can't spread out of them. I bet it will look nice too.

Been flicking through the OLYMPICS all afternoon, some great events. Track and Field tomorrow, so a lot more interest.

Try clicking on it here Jane.........if you read right down you will see it covers services as well as goods. Might be worth speaking to the credit card people just to see what they say.

Frank, I meant I would have used the salad tongs to fish the gherkins out of OH's bath.....no grabbing anything!!! :-D lol. I'm not keen on this bright screen........I think it could give me a headache after a while. :-S

I am going off to have a look at floor tiles this morning. Not a job I'm looking forward to.Like I said last night I wish Janice was here to help.I think I will take a bit of the new wallpaper with me to help me with 'colour'.I wonder if I will be allowed to bring a tile or two home to see if they will be right.I imagine I can.
So I had better get dressed and get cracking..........It is a nice morning so far weather wise.

Have been waiting for the rain to stop so I can get back out to the garden.
Love the new photo Ann, Oh to be 20 something again, actually no, I think I'd settle for 40 something.
Nearly lost Alfie yesterday, was down the bottom of the garden fixing a trellis to the fence and heard a lot of scuffling behind the fence, it's an alleyway there, looked over and Alfie had managed to squeeze through a hole in the fence, I started to panic not sure how to get him back, you can access the alley from the cul-de-sac around the corner but the amount of junk that has been thrown in the alley didn't think I would get round anyway. In the end I had to make the hole bigger to get my hand through, kept calling him until he eventually came over and I grabbed him and yanked him back through ........what with that and Coco, I'm beginning to wish I never had cats ....... at least poor old Oscar's no trouble. I was thinking of your suggestion Frank but it would mean shutting them all out and knowing Coco she would probably wait until I let her back in and then do her 'business'.
Take it easy with the gardening Shirl. we're none of us as young as we like to think we are ;-)
It's brightened up a bit so I'm going to ignore my own advice and get those patio slabs cemented in.

Morning All,
Looks like GR have introduced another 'glitch' with the wide page. Flippin nuisance having to scroll left and right. I hope they fix it soon. :-S
Maureen, fancy Alfie bothering to squeeze through that hole in the fence. It's a good job you heard him and managed to get him back the little tinker! that's the spirit with the patio, but don't mix too much cement at once so it goes off.......also you won't be tempted to overdo it with your back! The new pic is one of me in the back garden at mum's when I was 17 or 18. I was wearing a favourite 'skinny rib' that was quite baggy around the waist. I wish I had things that were baggy around the waist now!! :-S
Jane, when we did the kitchen and bathroom they let me take as many tile samples as I wanted. Just had to leave a small deposit. I hope you see something you like.
Frank, it sounds a good idea for Ros, having a table at the Festival. Mind you, I think it takes a while to get enough things made in advance. I haven't made anything since we have been out on the garden most days! We started putting some of the fleece down at the bottom of the garden this morning, got it all pegged down using some big staple things I got which have turned out to be much easier to hammer in than the pegs. I have the lovely fiddly job of trimming it along the curved rock edges, but OH will soon be shovelling the 'gravel mountain' we have onto it.
Just made myself some nice ratatouille with toms, courgette, red onion, red pepper, basil and garlic to go with a jacket pot ......very tasty! I think OH was fancying some.......but footie at Wisbech was calling so he had to dash!
