Morning All and Evening Kim and thanks for the email. I have replied Kim.

Turned out quite nice today with sunshine. We had a little rain in the night but oh is now out mowing the grass in what we call the back garden where the new pond is.

SIL told me where to find my new photos on the computer but I have'nt got them into files yet but can now send some pics without all the hassel of sending them here and there beforehand.

Think I shall go shopping now so I can have the rest of the day in the garden. NOW I wish I had gone yesterday.........it's always the same

Afternoon everyone,

Mel thanks for those photos. I love your pond and that wee little bird. Is it going to be ok? About the x-ray, you would have to be half dead to get one up here. Although my doctor is wonderful if anything needs checking, but he tries to limit the number I have. My lovely daughter has just screamed at me that she is going out tomorrow night, infection and all plus a few choice swear words. I will need to pack that suitcase for her I think. Girls are so difficult to raise these days, well this one is, lol.

Has been sunny today and slightly warmer, but pouring rain again tonight. I will have moss growing on me soon.

Pat so glad you are have success with your baby fish. Everything is buzzing in your tank then. We must be due for another pic of Mocha.

Ann hope the back is better today and Fiona as well. Any further work on the extensions?

Mandy & Jane what are you on??? LOL Can I have some too?? ;-) I can't recall seeing my grandmother's knickers, but my mum wore those big silk pantaloons until they stopped making them and progressed on to B**d's Co**ontails.

On a sad note, boy there have been a few lately, the little girl who lived across the road from us and used to spend a lot of time over here, died of a heroine overdose last week, only 15. I don't know the full details, but a friend of her family inboxed my daughter to let her know. The funeral is next week, but I don't have details. She was a pretty little blonde thing and both parents were deaf. She learned sign language and pretty much communicated for them and kept an eye out for her younger siblings. It is a terrible tragedy.

Joy is stil in hospital and as confused as ever. I think she is off some of the machines and is breathing on her own, but the future at her little home with her cat is very uncertain now.

Maureen good luck with your shoes and stretching them. You need to be comfortable for the big day.

When are Frank and Ros due back, have missed the old bu**er on here. And Sheila too, hope all is well with her.

Off to watch a bit of tv, hope you are all having a warm, sunny afternoon. 10.31 pm EST.

Mandy, just adding to your post about smells after a loved one has gone. We lost our lovely DiL just after she was 40, and we lost our son too not so long after, so that was two in a very short time, we were devastated. I think that's what triggered Carmel's illness. Anyway, our DiL's name was Pat, and boy did she love her plants and her garden. She could make weeds look good. They lived over near Loughborough so any visit either way was 45 mins to an hour.
Well after Pat passed away, Carmel would say to me she could get the scent of flowers and she thought Pat was around. I didn't get it at first but a while after, when I was on my own in our sitting room, I got the distinct smell of flowers and I admit, without thinking of what Carmel had said, I immediately thought of Pat. Way way ago, she gave us a sprig of Rosemary which I planted down our garden. That Rosemary bush still blooms profusely every year without fail, no matter what I do to it. So we put their marker down there by that bush when we had to retrieve from Staunton Harold after the tree we had there for them had died off.
But then again our garden has got a lot of plants in it that were given by friendss and relatives who are no longer with us. And that's how we refer to them as they come into bloom, Ken's yellow rose, Hilda's shrub, Dad's London Pride, Helga's daisies, and so on. I have to admit it's a lovely way to remember people who have been dear to us. It makes going into the garden a special privilege.
Just lately, with all the rain, getting into the garden to get my planters done has been very hit and miss. I managed to get some done at the weekend and now I need yet more compost - when it's dry enough to go and fethc some!!!

Hi Kim.
How sad about the young girl. Why do they take this damn stuff.Such a waste of a young life. Her poor family :-( :-(
I was telling Chris about Miranda's cough .He said if he has someone with a cough going on so long he would send them for an XRay.Partly to rule out TB.I don't know about Australia but it has been on the increase here for some years .

Mel ,James says thank you for the earplugs :-D :-D.He said he might give them a go if he has trouble. Not sure about me using them when Chris snores. It's more likely to be the other way around :-S :-S

We had quite a treat earlier.Lots of engine noise in the sky.Coming right over us were a Chinook,Apache, another helicopter and what looked like an Air/Sea rescue one.I know the Queen is coming to open something in Corby this week sometime. So maybe it was something to do with that.

Afternoon All

Had some sun this morning so managed to get bed linen washed and dried on the line. not a lot going on around here.

Got a phone call from a friend telling me about a lady who I haven't seen for ages she was very ill I believe, anyway the sad news is that this lady had past away last week and my friend wondered if would I like to go with a group of other friends to her funeral which is on Thursday morning at a local church, service starts at 11.00, I said yes I would , so I better make sure I have clothes for the funeral depending what the weather is going to be , will it be my dark gray smart trousers if its cold or I could wear my navy linen trousers, better make sure they are both washed and ironed.

The hairdrier is okay Mandy, must have overheated because I tried it later and it started again.

Glad to hear Janice had a great day out Jane, just what she needed.

Jane Report 12 Jun 2012 17:52

Another funeral Fiona :-( You seem to have been to a few over the last year.Is this lady elderly ?
It has been cloudy all day here and now it doesn't feel too warm so I have turned the heating on for a while.I am now all dressed and perfumed ready to go out for this meal tonight.Poor Chris will just have time to get home wash his face and then we will have to leave,I think he will have to do a little speech for Saloni(She is the GP who is leaving). He doesn't like performing in public :-S.But as Senior Partner it is his job.I think there are going to be about 14/16 of us so quite a crowd. It should be a fun evening.

Maureen love the email :-D :-D :-D My favourite was the dog squeezing through the flap lol

Jane Report 12 Jun 2012 18:07

William ,I didn't see you there. You mentioned London Pride. We had lots in our garden when I was small, but I haven't seen it for years.I think it is lovely to have plants in the garden that remind us of loved ones no longer with us.I have some that came from Mum's garden.A lovely Rose,a Choisia (?sp) and a load of Daffodils.I hadn't realised you had lost a Son and Daughter in Law.That is very sad :-(

Just watching the News and seeing all the flooding again :-SI don't know what it is like in Tewkesbury but I bet my Niece is on tender hooks again.

Where is Mandy? Not hanging upside down on that climbing frame I hope showing those unmentionables :-D ;-) :-S

Jane Report 12 Jun 2012 18:42

You are funny David......BOO!!!!! has that helped? Cold spoon down your back.Drinking water from the back of a glass.Holding your breath.I can't think of anything else.Is it you or Ellen that has them?.Maybe it is the excitement of a new car lo

Right I am off now.Just got to clean my tegs and put some lippy on.No eye makeup though as i still have that blooming cyst thing on my bottom eyelid :-S
We have chosen the menu.I am have some kind of Stuffed Mushrooms to start and then Chicken Souvlaki for main course.I doubt I will have pudding.
I feel a bit peckish now just thinking about it.I don't know what Chris has chosen.I do hope I don't get sat next to one of the partners wife. She doesn't talk much and I find it difficult to understand her as she has a very strong Malaysian accent.
May be back later if it is not too late.

Evening All,

More sadness then Fiona, now you have another funeral to go to. It is the way of things as we get older I suppose. When you are young it is mostly weddings, then come christenings, then funerals.

Kim what a shame about that young girl and for her family too. Why do so many youngsters dabble in these substances I wonder.......there is enough publicity of what it leads to. All her life ahead of her......now gone. It sounds like Joyce is slowly improving. It must be dreadful to be ill in hospital and confused and be worried on top of that about your home and pet. I hope she carries on improving.

Pat, I have stuck one of those heat patches on my back today and it has helped. It has been hurting in the same place as last time, so I am relieved it is not as bad as it was then as I want to get back to doing the garden. I've been keeping on the move today as it aches if I stand too long and stiffens if I sit too long!! lol. What made your leg ache at line dancing.......are you sure it was the shoes or was it some fancy footwork?lol. :-D :-D I looked at that link you put up about those church ruins....very interesting as you said.

Hope you enjoy your meal and night out Jane. I remember my parents getting info on emigration to NZ and Australia when I was little. Chris will be able to relax more after the speech bit is out of the way. I must google your main course as I have never had that!

We used our garden centre voucher for 2 cream teas for £7.45 this afternoon and very nice they were too.

David, hold your breath is what I was told to do!! :-D :-D

The lady who died was only 68 she was well known locally in Hamilton for writing plays and having them performed at the local town Hall , she was born and brought up in a Glasgow tenement ( flat) and a lots of her stories and plays were about the hard life of the families who lived in these tenements.
She had 2 grown up children a boy & girl. the the girl or should I say young woman was killed in a car accident about 5 years ago while driving home early one morning after a night shift at a local hospital, she had just qualified as a doctor and had a great and promising future ahead of her,
Elizabeth never got over her daughter Margaret's death so this contributed alot to her illness.
