That doesn't sound nice Mo, out picking veg in the frost. I suppose you got a nice tan in the summer though.

Rita, that's where you got your arthritis from ........... kneeling down in the fields pulling up weeds ... lol Maybe you should claim compensation from the government.

Marilyn, I know you'll be making the most of it and having a laugh with all the other stranded people, you've got a good outlook on life. Hope you get away OK in the morning, you'll be getting up at the same time as me and Lady, bet you've never seen 5am before.

Linda, I hope they get you sorted out before March, my God, they can't mess you around for much longer. I hope when they find out what's wrong, they don't hang around.

Are you still up Shelly? Think I might be on my own here.

Did Sue fight her way back through the snow?

Going to read my emails now .............. that means you'll be getting a load of emails in the morning!!!!!!!

so I hope she can I have pills to collect at the chemist been there since Monday I think I will have to ask them if they will deleiver I hate putting people out but there is nothing I can do about.

Morning Rita
I was going to suggest you ask if they could come to you to do the blood test. I'm sure that you can't even try to get there and it does need doing. Also I am sure your regular chemists will bring the medicines to you. They know you and if they can they will want to help and make sure you keep your medication going.

Please don't go out unless you have somebody with you.

The baby's Mum said the roads were more slippery today even with some snow melting.

Take care everyone

Linda I think they will come to me but they only do them Mon/Tues?Wednesday and Thursday as you will know.
A firend phoned to say she was going to the paper-shop and Waitrose was there anything I needed. she got my perscription for my "gout "and also brought me some Cider Vineigar at the Honey. then she kindly went into the paper -shop and got me a TV Times and "Take A Break "and "Chat "puzzel books which I have everyweek.
she told me it is quiet bad going over the car park as it has started to thaw and it so slippery she neary slipped over she said dont get any food out of your freezeer tomorrow I will go and get Fish and Chips. we have that every two weeks you can only get there by car
The Dustman came in there big Cart and could not get onto our car park they said it was too dangerous their wheels kept sliding so they got out of the cart and walked in pairs and pushed the metal commercial bins out to the Dust-cart

I had a lovely Air-mail letter from one of the Soldiers I write to who is in Afganistan he is in the 4th Rifles and I send mail to some of them to try and cheer them up and let them know they are always in our thought.
I was so pleased to receive it. he told me all about serving out there. I must reply as soon as I can. God Bless them all.

Hi all.

Rita, Shelly's right, the district nurses always go out to people who can't get to the clinic. They come to our house to give my son his flu jab every year. I usually go to the chemist to collect his medication but we were snowed in for 3 weeks so I just rang them and they brought it out to us.

No one will expect you to risk going out in dangerous conditions. I'm pleased you have such a good friend who got some shopping for you. Get started on your honey and cider vinegar straight away, it'll take a few weeks before you feel any better.

Rita

Rita Report 14 Jan 2010 18:42

Thats good to know they will do that but being as your son has a disability they should come to him anyway..
I have to take my hat off to you Pauline with all your problems you still come up smiling I bet there are times when you dont feel like smiling..

perhaps someone on here can give me some advice on looking in Newspapers for information in Late 1800s. and 1915 I have put out a thread on Records and have been given some information but still dont know where to start do I google it or is ANCESTRY the place to look.

I told you I am a bit dense but you seem to find your way around easy enough..

Morning All
Rita do you not have any idea who you deleted as it goes into like a rubbish bin and you can bring it back up ...................... if you remember their name.

Friends came to dinner yesterday evening. My lovely hubby did the shopping, while I still had the baby. Then prepared all the food and served it too. He then loaded the dishwasher. Bless him I just had no energy and am still getting a tightness across my chest.

Still I did some research for the husband of my friend. He is from Southern Ireland and knows little of his ancestors. Well the 1911 census is free online for a lot of Ireland now and I found his father with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Then surprise his parents not with them but he working as a servant and the wife a visitor in the house. They had been married 33yrs and had 11 children with 10 living. He knew none of this. It also shows that the family had a pigsty and chicken coop. He was quite pleased with this found in 10 minutes. At first it looked like his sister being head of house and single???? But looking I then saw they were all brothers and sisters. So I shouldn't jump to conclusions should I. There was 16 years between them, so not unreasonable. The eldest sister was 31 and the youngest brother only 9. That poor mother must have spent her life being pregnant !!! Another thing that jumped out was that a neighbours house had NO roof, but was still occupied by a family. Classed as 3rd level housing !!!

Have a good day everyone Snow is melting here at last, but still looks a bit icy.

Rita, I hope you manage to find the hot match you deleted, by putting your dad's name in the 'Search Trees'. Linda, what is the other way to do it?

Linda, your find was a good one, your friend's husband must be over the moon with you. Where is the Irish 1911 free?

Mo, my son's bus is back on the run and they can get to us (thank God), he started back on Wednesday. The road is still icy and not easy to drive on but the main roads are clear. I was really nervous driving on the ice but managed to stay on the road.

I don't watch that programme Shelly but I do like 'Silent Witness'. Lady, I forgot about it last night and missed it.

Looks like Marilyn got away then.

Seen as Sue didn't make us a cuppa this morning I'll do it.
