You should hear the noise coming down the chimney..It sounds like a Train :-S :-S :-S.I just cleared the grate from yesterday and had to go in the garage to get new kindling.The kindling is kept in a wicker basket near the door.I had to paddle through the water that has blown in :-| :-|

Just been watching the re run of last night's BGT and am in tears again watching that lovely boy Malakie(sp) the 9 year old.What a little superstar :-D :-D
Has anyone heard from Anne(Anne with an E as I say)?.....I hope Liz and the new home are doing well.She must be ready to move in about now :-D

Everyone who has seen the pic of the Earless Squirrel think it was probably born like it.Wonder if it had anything to do with all that Toxic smoke from the fires at that recycling place.It does make you wonder.

I was thinking about Anne the other day ,wondering how she was , and Liz too , i should think she's busy moving in ,the new place must be ready by now .

Afternoon Everyone.
It was a sunny one, (Sun has just gone in ) but OMG what a cold chilly wind we have,

Well thats us we now have a new lady minister , she was voted in this morning after she gave us a very interesting service, she is really great with the youngsters in the church,
She will be ordained into our church on 29th May and will then start preaching on the 3rd June at the morning service.

It was a good journey down to England yesterday we had sun the whole way, but was met with a really wild and cold wind when we crossed the border into England
MIL was pleased to see us and was back to her usual grumpy self, complaining about all the foreign nurses and doctors who couldn't understand what she said and visa versa, her hands were a mess badly swollen with the drips but at least her condition had improved, she was moved to a different ward while we were there, during which time blood tests were done and she was taken away to be weighed, she was upset because this was done during visiting hours.
She still is not eating , say's she cannot stomach the hospital food, so she is still on a saline drip. when we left to go she became very upset and started to cry,

I rang her this morning and she was very upset hadn't slept much due to her hands being very painfull and swollen she says she cannot bend her fingers, good job we managed to get her wedding ring off yesterday , she was scared that her hands would be bad and they would cut the ring off,
she has asked for the drip to come out, don't know what will happen , it's not nice to hear her so upset on the phone but there's not much we can do up here in Scotland ,
I will phone BIL later today to see how she is,

better give OH a hand he is grouting the tiles in the back porch.

Fiona ,I know how hard it is to be so far away from a rellie who is not well .The good thing is that your MIL does have her others nearby.It does sound to me as though she is going downhill now :-( :-(

Yes, what a night and day of rain !! Take care coming home Frank. We saw bits of tree all over the road when we went out earlier, loads of spray and our drive and patio are covered in shredded bright green leaves where the wind has ripped them from the trees.

Your poor MIL sounds at a very low ebb Fiona. Does she have any friends that could pop and see her?

Hope you soon feel a bit better Pat.......I was a bit 'iffy' yesterday so maybe it is something going around. Thanks for letting us know about Kim. It must be awful the pain she has.....hope it soon eases for her. Could someone send me your pic.....it still hasn't come through. :-(

Well, surprise, surprise, the heat patches we went and got for FIL didn't 'suit' according to MIL this morning. She said on the phone his back was worse and he nearly fell getting to the loo last night. Yet as soon as OH talked about getting him to a doctor tomorrow and that he would be best to stay at home on Tuesday when OH takes her to her hospital, she said it seemed to be easing a lot today!!!

Sorry to hear that Kim has been in so much pain again. Am sending my love and wishes for some releif for you Kim. <3 <3 <3 <3

Mandy I had a look at that link. What a lovely surprise. I had seen some of those names when you first asked about Constance 1865 but never thought they could all be linked to the toffs!!

Ann what should we do with these parents and in laws?? They are just like children again when they get older. Always thinking they are hard done by when most of the time it is their own fault.

I have been trying to help a lady in Hull with her tree for a few days now. Can't seem to find a William Key c1801 says he was born in York. Have his son William 1825ish with wife Ann but can't find their marriage. the lady sent off for her 3xgt grandfathers birth cert last week and she has sent it to me.

How old is your MIL Fiona. How upsetting for you and your OH, it is difficult when you live quite a long distance, I was just thankful my mum was only a ten minute drive away.

Oh my, do we call you M'Lady now Mandy, how exciting to have some 'well to do's' in the family. Frank and William you will have to doff your caps when speaking to her .....lol

Had a nice lunch with brother, SIL, cousin from US and his son. Think my cousin is trying to educate him in our English heritage/history and all poor Frankie wants to do is go to the pub .... he is 17. They've already done the open bus tour of London, and the West Ham match yesterday, they're off to Windsor Castle tomorrow. My cousin's dad was the third son of a Lord, that's the nearest I will get to aristocracy, he wasn't a relation of mine as he was married to my mum's sister.

Been pelting down here all day but the sun just came out briefly for a min then!! We have such a cold wind here today too. There was a crash a little earlier and when I opened the back door I had twigs off the ash tree in the porch!!

Will watch The Voice later just to see who goes although I have to say it's not really my cup of tea. I really don't like rock music and all that warbling up and down on a note really got on my nerves .... am I having a Victor Meldrew moment ... :-P

I'm Home, torential rain for most of the way. Now sitting here bathed in sunshine, and clear blue sky's.

I turned the heating off before I left on Friday. When we came in an hour ago, it was like an ice box, Heating on full blast now to try to get warm.

Ros is at the Hospital in the morning, for some tesat on her eyes. Tony next door will take her as she won't be able to drive.

Family gone home now,

MIL will be 76 in September Maureen. I think since she's been ill and run down and having to stay at home and losing her independance she is missing OH dad and feeling more lonely, when she is well she is never in , she used to go to the stroke club which she joined with dad when he first had his stroke she made some good friends there, she also used to walk with a ramblers group but she tired to keep up with the younger members and we think thats how she over did the back
But with in the last 2 years 3 of her friends have past away and another lady has just recently been diagnosed with cancer so Mum is realising that life will never be the same again, that is why every thing has been DOOM & GLOOM for quite a while now, she also doesn't have much patience wanting to be up and well before she actually recovers, if only she would eat a little more, the doctors are trying to persuade her to drink more water so she won't be come really dehydrated,

I can just picture poor Frankie Maureen.......I bet he was 'heritaged out' poor lad. lol Glad you had a nice meal together though.

Mel, I think MIL makes a bit of a drama and then when you try to do something to sort things out she starts to back down saying things are not so bad!! lol As you say, like children at times......sent to try us!! It stopped raining for about half an hour a while ago, then started pelting down again. The garden has big puddles now. I haven't heard the latest forecast, but this morning it said tomorrow would be dry and sunny and warm. I can't imagine it at the moment!!

Off to bed now, early start tomorrow as OH has to take his car back to the garage. They wanted to check the air con again after a few weeks to see if they can find the leak!! They must have put some dye in it or something.

Dull and dreary as usual this morning.

Had a lovely sleep last night. Could'nt keep my eyes open watching the telly so went to bed at 12 which is early for me!

The sun is shining again.What a difference from yesterday :-DI won't be on the computer much as I have a very sore little cyst on the inside of my lower eyelid :-S and it is more comfortable if I can keep it shut.

I have the washing on line didnt have enough for a second load ,mores the pity when the sun is out..

Have cleaned part of the cooker and cut the grass..I am feeling a bit better today not feeling so sick.

Hope to look at a Zumba class tonight instead of going linedancing..I will go from there and see what it involves..I will have to go alternite weeks if I like it..
Off to get some lunch then walk Mocha x
